Hiromi stood on the other side of Travis close enough that his odor brought tears to her eyes and she had to fight her gag reflex. "Yes most honorable saviour..." she says laying on the oriental accent thick, "I have no knowledge of firearms, and would be most humbled to have one so skilled teach me how to use them."

Travis smiled pleasantly at the two women while he stirred a pot of gravy on the stovetop. "Now you two wouldn't be trying any funny business in my humble home, would ya? Surely y'all two don't think me some bumbling country idiot who could be so easily distracted by feminin charm? 'Cause if that were the case I'd be... Very upset." Travis said pulling a large knife from a rack over the stove. He smiled at the women slowly waving the knife in front of their faces a moment before turning to the counter to chop carrots. "I don't intend ta do nothin' the good lord hisself wouldn't approve of. Now why don't y'all run along and get yerselves gussied up for dinner. Y'all two smell a bit ripe." Travis said as he continued to chop carrots.

Hiromi had to bit back her response when he mentioned her odor. She hadn't bathed in a few days, he smelled like he hadn't bathed in his life.

"We are just trying to show gratitude to the MAN who saved us form being turned into a living buffet, and brought us to his home and safety." Hiromi shot a warning look to Emma knowing she was about to go off on this creep.

When Hirmoi shot her the warning look, Emma greatly restrained her self from stabbing him in the throat, "Yes, nothing else. Why did you save us?"

While Hiromi and Emma occupied Travis Matt walked the property line, looking for any weak point in the fence then made his way to the shed but not actually going near it, just non-chalantly checking it out. That done he made his way around the outside of the house. He needed a good feel for the area, if them leaving ended up in a fight he wanted to make sure he had some type of advantage, even if it was just immobilizing the truck to deter anyone from following them. With that thought he walked to the truck to check it out.

"I saved ya's 'cause you're humans. Us people gotta stick together 'gainst them dead folk. We're the last of the human race, and it's our god given duty to make sure people don't go extinct. This is a test, and I'm gonna make sure I don't fail it." Travis said with a passionate certainty in his voice.

At his words Hiromi grew very frightened of this man. He was a religious zealot doing Gods work, and believed that everything he did was ordained by God, and therefore he did nothing wrong. He could use the 'God told me too' excuse to justify anything he did.

Hiromi had meet a few people like this before. She had occasionally worked for a deprogrammer, helping rescue weak minded fools from cults, and this guy sounded worse than any cult leader she had ever encountered.

Taking an involuntry step away from him she says "Well Travis-san, I am deeply indebted to you. If I can ever repay you, do not hesitate to ask." She fights off a shudder thinking about what he might ask for in repayment.

"Don't worry sugar pop. I never hesitate." Travis said giving Hiromi a wolfish smile. He finished chopping the carrots then set down the knife. He stirred the gravy and added a pinch of salt to the pot. "I'm making taters 'n' gravy. I grow my own crops, so they're nice and fresh. I also got some Salisbury steak in the ovens. It'll be real nice." He said before removing the spoon from the gravy. He held the spoon up to Emma's mouth. "Go on. Have a little taste." He said with a wink.

Hiromi watches wide eyed as he offers her a taste of gravy. Hiromi had no idea if it was safe or not, but she knew she was going to claim she was a vegetarian, which wasn't far from the truth. She avoided meat unless there was no other option.

Emma hesitantly sucked the gravy off the spoon. It wasn't surprisingly that bad. She suppressed a smile "it's great" she lied through her teeth. She had never been a large eating people's food person. "So you believe in God huh? I'm not a religious type anymore."

Hiromis eyes narrowed as she watched Emma for any sign of...anything. She knew full well there were agents that could take hours days even weeks to affect a person. There were even some binary agents that could be mixed into food, so you had to consume both parts before you suffered ill effects.

She was sure now travis was up to something. She didn't know what or why, but she knew that he was bad news.

"I'm gonna go use the bathroom" Emma walked into the disgusting bathroom and silently forced herself to puke up all the gravy until it was just bile. She walked out and gave a thumbs up to Hiromi. "They better hurry up" Emma thought to herself. "Is the steak fresh?" She asked Travis.

"Nah, it was frozen. It ain't easy gettin' fresh meant nowadays. But everything else is nice and fresh." Travis said dumping the chopped carrots into another pot. He began to add a variety of ingredients to the carrots. "Ever had glazed carrots? They're real good. That's what I'm makin' here." He said sprinkling a hearty amount of an unknown spice into the carrot pot. "It's almost ready. Would y'all two be so kind as ta find those friends of yours and bring 'me in here to the table?" Travis asked stirring the gravy again.

As the sun began to sink closer to the horizon Daniel began to grow worried. He needed a safe place to stay, and sleeping out in the open wasn't that place. He cursed himself for thinking coming into these woods was a good idea. He was about to give up all hope of sleeping that night when he saw something in the trees. It looked like a treehouse, but Daniel wasn't sure in the dimming light. He pulled a flashlight from his pocket and shined it into the tree. "Finally! Shelter!" He thought making his way over to the rope ladder hanging down from the treehouse. "Hello? Is anyone up there? I need a safe place to sleep tonight. I can offer supplies as payment." Daniel called up to the seemingly empty treehouse. After a minute of no response he slowly climbed the ladder.

Once Daniel reached the top he was greeted by a sickening sight. On the floor of the treehouse were two corpses both with there heads blown off. It was hard to tell, but if Daniel had to guess he'd say the two had been mother and son. He quickly descended the rope ladder, feeling himself grow nauseated at the memory of what he'd just seen. He cut the rope ladder off of the treehouse and coiled it into his backpack, so that the pair wouldn't be disturbed by anyone looking to loot corpses. He wished he could do more to give the pair some peace, but Daniel knew he had to move on. "Guess I'm not sleeping tonight." He thought as he made left the treehouse behind.

"of course not" Emma smiled, She turned to Hiromi, and made a urgent gesture to follow. She walked out. "It's dinner time!" Emma called out a little psycho, as a joke. She turned to Hiromi, and said in a low tone "He's fucking psycho".

"HAI! I agree." None of us should ever be alone, and someone shouled remain awake at all times. Lets go see if Matt found anything, or if Cody needs help."

Daniel hiked through the woods for another fifteen minutes before the trees began to thin. "Finally I'm getting out of these woods." Daniel thought as the trees gave way to a large area of fields. He kept going forward for another fifteen minutes or so when he heard a rustling in the grass to his left. He aimed his rifle and flashlight at the source of the noise and was surprised to see a small black pug emerge. The small dog wagged its tail and sat down in front of Daniel, panting happily. "It can't be..." Daniel whispered looking at the dog. He raised his rifle again when he heard more movement coming in the same direction.

After a moment a man appeared in Daniel's flashlight beam. "Oh shit! Don't shoot me man!" Shouted a familiar voice. Daniel shook his head in disbelief. There was just no way it could be him, but here he was standing right in front of him. "Cody?" Daniel finally asked in a hesitant voice. "Holy shit dude! How do you know my name? ...Are you real?" Daniel laughed and lowered his rifle. That was defiantly Cody.

"Cody. It's me Daniel. Remember? We met in Utah?" Daniel said approaching the other man. "No way! I thought you were zombie chow! It's so good to see you man!" Cody said stepping forward and pulling Daniel into a hug. Daniel returned the hug for a moment before stepping back and smiling a Cody. "It's good to see you too. What are you doing out here? I taught you that finding shelter at night should be one of your biggest priorities." Daniel said. "I know dude. I found a whole crew of people in this last town I was in. Them this crazy redneck dude killed like a thousand zombies and brought us to his farm. I was kinda just wandering around when Barry started freaking out. He found a hole in the fence and ran out. I followed him and he led me to you. Guess the little dude smelled you coming. It's a good thing too, you would've gone right passed the farm if we hadn't found you." Cody said happy to see his old friend again.

Daniel kneeled down and gave Barry a scratch on the ear before offering the dog a small piece of jerky. As the pug happily munched on the meat Daniel considered what Cody had just told him. Cody had found a group of survivors and if not for Barry, Daniel would've missed them. Another thing stood out from Cody's story. Daniel gave Barry another piece of jerky before standing up and giving Cody a serious look. "When you said this redneck dude is 'crazy' what did you mean by that?" Daniel asked a sinking feeling forming in the pit of his stomach.

"I don't know. He's just kind of creepy and weird. Like... I don't know dude. The others seem to think he's straight out of a horror movie. I don't think he's that bad... But maybe he is. He did want to eat Barry, so I guess he can't super sane. Why do you want to know?" Cody asked noticing the worried look on Daniel's face. "About half an hour ago I found a tree house. There were two corpses with their heads blow off. They looked like mom and son, but it was hard to tell. They didn't looked turned, or even bitten, and I just got the sense that someone did that to them just because. I'm probably just being paranoid, but... I don't know man. This entire time is fucked. We've both seen some terrible things, and I'm just... I don't know what to think anymore." Daniel said with a hint of desperation in his voice.

Cody nodded and patted his friend on the shoulder. "I get you man. Everything's gone to shit. But there's still good too. I mean, as creepy as Travis is, the dude invited us all into his home. Not to mention he saved all of our lives. He's probably not running around the woods murdering people. Let's head back, I'll introduce you to everyone." Cody said leaning down to pick up Barry. "Alright. Lead the way." Daniel said hoping Cody was right.

Cody silently led Daniel through the field towards Travis's farm. The pair crawled through the hole in the fence and then walked towards the house. As they got closer they saw Hiromi and Emma on the porch talking. Cody led Daniel onto the porch and smiled at the two women. "Hey guys. This is Daniel. He was the dude I said I met way back when all this first started. He's cool, so don't worry." Cody said happily. "Um hi. Like he said I'm Daniel. It's nice to meet you." Daniel said quietly as he put his rifle over his shoulder.

Nodding coldly at the newcomer, Hiromi looks at Cody "You were able to leave the farma nd return without being detected. That is good to know. Show me where and how, it may be a way to escape if Travis is what I think he is."

"Um sure. Barry was the one who found it." Cody said leading the group back towards the hole in the fence. "It's a pretty tight fit, but I think we can all make it through." Cody said pointing to a hole in the fence. It was about three feet wide and four feet tall. "There it is guys. I think Barry has saved all of our asses." Cody said with pride in his voice. "I agree." Said Daniel as he kneeled down and gave Barry another piece of jerky.

"It is a way out for us, but it is also a way in for the Kyonshi. I believe we should rig a trap or alarm, in case someone or something tries to get in." Hiromi saidlooking around.

Emma cursed under her breath, if she saw one more newcomer she'd put a bullet in his brain. "I can set up a alarm but if we were to run during the night... I guess we would have to disarm it. Seriously, I am considering running tonight, he waved a knife at me and Hiromi, I'd hate to have it in my chest... Or in my throat, or down my shirt." She said grimacing. "And it's only a matter of time before a bunch of zombies shows up, I hate to be that guy but, there's a lot of downsides of this"

"I don't know guys. Alarms seem like too much. I saw some cinder blocks over there. How about we just stack them in front of the hole? That seems easier than alarms or traps. But I'll just go with whatever you guys think." Cody said.

Daniel silently considered what the others said before speaking. "Why run? This place is clearly built for defense. With a little bit of work we could turn this place into a fort. If there's only one guy here, and he's as bad as everyone seems to think, we could talk to him, or deal with him, and then we'd have this place to ourselves." Daniel said carefully. He didn't want to sound cold blooded, but this farm was too good to leave behind.

Emma sharply turned to the newcomer. Glaring at him she spoke in a venomous tone "Look I don't know who you are, or what you've done, but I'm not going to kill a man for his land. In fact I'm not going to kill him unless he tries anything, in fact I don't like killing things but if I had to right now I'd put a bullet through your brain, stranger. And right now this man doesn't seem like a social person. I'm going hunting, don't follow." Emma hissed. And walked away into the woods.
