"I wasn't suggesting that we murder anyone, just try to make sure this guy isn't going to try anything. And I only suggested it because of what Cody said." Daniel said defensively looking to Cody for help. "Don't look at me man. You two figure something out, I'm going after Emma." Cody said before slipping under the fence.

He sprinted to catch up to Emma and intercepted her before she was more than a couple yards away. "Hey! You can't just run off like that! Look, I know Daniel can be a bit of a dick sometimes, but he's a cool dude. And a certifiable badass. Just give him a chance, ok? He's saved my ass more times than I can count. Plus he's taught me enough so I can make it out here alone." Cody paused and gave Emma a pleading look. "Just come back to the farm with me. I know you're like lady Robin Hood with that bow, but it's still not safe to be running around the woods at night." Cody extended his hand to Emma. "Come back with me. Please." He implored.

"I could think of more things to call him then a certified badass." Emma growled. She took Codys hand, "sorry for freaking out. Murder isn't my secondhand nature." As they walked back to the farm.

HIromi went to check on the Marine, and found him laying on a couch dead. He hadn't turnede yet, she she took one of her small knives and thrust it into his ear and into his brain, ending the threat.

Walking back outside carrying the corpse, she looked around for a place to bury or burn the man that was with them for such a short time.

"I don't think Daniel was saying we kill Travis. He was just saying if shit went south he'd be willing to do whatever it took. Daniel's a hard dude, but he isn't evil. He helped me out a lot. Without him I'd be groaning and trying to eat brains. Just try to cut him a chance, alright? He'll help us all out without a second thought, he just doesn't deal with psychos. He said he found a treehouse with a dead mom and her kid in it. He said they didn't look like zombies. I said some shit about Travis, and he was probably just jumping to conclusions. Please just cut him some slack? ...For me?" Cody said as he and Emma made their way back towards the hole in the fence.

Matt came across Hiromi as she was dragging the corpse, "our buddy there bite the dust? You want some help with that?" He walked over and grabbed the body under the shoulders so she could grab it by the feet. "So I was looking around pretty much all day today, the fence looks like it could relatively easily be cut through if we wanted out and didn't wanna use the gate and the shack's got some weapons in it from what I could see through a window. I never did get to see in the basement though."

Unsure of what to do with himself after the others left; Daniel decided to look around the farm. He looked around for anything that could hint towards the owner of the farm being as insane as Cody claimed, but Daniel saw nothing out of the ordinary. "Maybe I should actually meet the man before I suggest killing him. He's probably not half as bad as everyone claims. Hell, I'm probably the crazy one from being alone so long." Daniel thought bitterly as he wandered around the back of the house. He couldn't shake the image of those people he'd found in the treehouse. Every instinct in his body screamed it was a cold blooded murder. And to have an allegedly crazy man living so close. It just seemed like more than a coincidence. Maybe if...

"What was that!?" Daniel thought as he was pulled out of his inner monologue. He thought he'd heard... There it was again! "That's defiantly sobbing." Daniel thought grimly to himself as he tried to locate the source of the sound.

It didn't take Daniel long to find where the sobs were coming from. An old cellar door that looked like it led to a basement underneath the farm house. He broke the rusty padlock with practiced ease and slowly descended the creaky stairs that led deeper into the basement.

As Daniel carfully made his way way down the stairs the crying began to grow louder. As be reached the bottom of the stairs a wall of stench hit him. It smelled like rotting sewage, blood, and pain. It was the kind of scent that was given off by pain and suffering. As Daniel made his way forward his stomach sank. This is what evil smelled like.

Daniel pressed forward, turning on his flashlight and readying his rifle as he quietly made his way down a short hallway with a dirt floor. At the end of the hallway was an old wooden door, that looked to be unused for a long time. Daniel reached out and grabbed the rusted doorknob in a white knuckle grip, as he steeled himself for what he'd see on the other side. Daniel slowly pushed the door open and entered the room.

"Dear God." Daniel chocked before vomiting on the floor. The miasma of rot in the air was enough to make any man sick for days, but that wasn't the worse part. In the corner sobbing and tied to a bed covered in a thick layer of filth was a young woman. On either side of the sobbing woman were to similar beds, one empty and one with a headless skeleton still chained where it had died.

"Don't worry. I'm getting you out of here." Daniel said, his voice chocked with rage. He slowly approached the woman. As he looked over her he felt his heart break. She was skinny and ragged, even by apocalypse standards. Her hair was so dirty and matted it was impossible to tell what color it was, and her skin was covered in a thick film of grime.

"I'm not going to hurt you." Daniel said, trying to keep his voice soothing as he tenderly cut the woman's binds. He gently lifted her frail body from the bed, and cradled her against his chest. "I'm getting you out of here. You'll be safe. I swear it." Daniel said as he carried her back towards the door he'd come through.

After Daniel had carried the woman to the top of the stairs he gently removed her blindfold. "My name is Daniel. Daniel Watson. I saw a pond over that way. I'd like to take you over there so you can clean yourself up. If that's ok with you." Daniel said carfully setting the girl down on the grass. He wrapped his jacket around her small frame and handed her his canteen. "Can you tell me your name?" Daniel asked her as he stepped back from her to give her room to absoard the fact that she'd been rescued.

Emma sighed "Okay, okay fine I wi- What the fuck! Did you do this you mother fuc-" The terrified woman nodded no. As She held her knife to Daniels throat. She looked down the old cellar, she put her knife away and ran down the steps, She ran until she walked into a room the stench was unbearable but what she saw made her vomit all over the floor. She backed up and sank to the floor on her knees, gasping, and silent tears rolled down her face. The bodies, the women. The dead. It was to much.

Hiromi dropped the Marine and ran behind Emma to see what was down there. When she saw the room, she knew she was right about Travis. Without a seconds hesitation she ran up to the kitchen drawing her sword.

When she walked in she stood there like an avenging angel. "You have three seconds to warn whatever deity you believe in that you are on your way to the afterlife." She told him, as she advanced on him ready to do something so horrible, it would forever change how the group looked at her.

"Three too many, sweetheart." Travis growled before slinging the pot of gravy at Hiromi. Her quick reflexes allowed her to avoid the boiling gravy without sustaining and burns, but she wasn't fast enough to avoid Travis as he tackled her to the ground. He grabbed her wrists, struggling with her to keep her weapons away from his body. "I'll be back for ya. The Lord wants the world to be filled with new pure humans. And he chose me ta do it." Travis said punctuating every sentence with a knee to Hiromi's stomach. He slammed Hiromi's head into the floor before quickly standing up. "I'd keep up the foreplay, but I ain't one fer quickies. You'll see me later. Count on it." Travis said before running out of the room leaving Hiromi dazed on the floor.

Travis ran outside and quickly climbed into his SUV which he had stashed with survival supplies in case he needed a quick escape. He revved the engine and pulled out of the driveway. A man Travis didn't recognize peppered the SUV with bullets, but Travis didn't slow the vehicle. He rammed the gate open and sped off into the night.

Emma just cried. She couldn't. What he did to them, it wasn't right. She vomited, again. She couldn't stop the silent tears rolling down. She put her head into her hands. She was devastated. All of this.

For the first time in her life, Hiromi had lost in battle. She was more than annoyed, she was furious. Getting slowly and painfully to her feet, she cursed herself for letting emotion ruin what should have been a flawless execution.

She walked outside hearing gunfire, buit part of her hoped Travis had gotten away. She wanted him, she wanted to dissecte him piece by piece, just to see how much she could cut off of his body before he died.

Seeing the new comer...Dan... Dave...Dick... well it started with a D, raising his rifle in disgust, as a car speed off.

Hiromi stood there when a horrible female scream filled the air...

Running over to the naked filth encrusted woman, she saw the pure abject terror in her eyes, and there din't appear to be anything human in her eyes. Hirmoi wasn't sure if the woman would ever come back from the horrors she experienced. But the screaming was attracting some of the rotting corpses to the fence. Using the handle of her sword she knocked the woman unconcious.

Looking over the group she pointed to Cody and Daniel. "Get rid of that body, then those..." She pointed over to the fence where almost a dozen had arrived already "I will get Emma and we will clean this one up and get her into a bed."

Walking down the steps again, Hiromi gently nudges Emma. "Travis has left the farm. Cody and the new guy are taking care of all the Kyonshi that are along the fence, as well as the body of the guy who shot you. I need your help with the woman that was imprisoned down here." She stood by Emma, her resolve to carve Travis into fish bait growing stronger every second.

Emma looked up, and nodded. Hiromi looked pissed, and she didn't get why. Couldn't she see what he did? Travis. Her quick anger rose like boiling water. She got up off her knees, and raced up the stairs, the SUV was missing, just like Hiromi said, he was gone. "Damnit!!" Emma yelled. The last of her mind was gone.
Her anger overtook and she raised her sniper and started to shoot zombies, everyone with a death blow to the head. Shooting about 5 per second. She didn't notice angry tears down her face

HIromi knew exactly how Emma felt. But the sound of the gunfire was going to draw every Kyhonshi for milles around right to the farm. Standing beside Emma she spoke quietly "We will make him pay. But the shooting will only draw more Kyonshi to us. Let us take care of them quietly then attend to her." She says pointing at the unconcious girl.

"You know...I say we just get the hell out of here, honestly. This place is compromised man. There's zombies coming in everywhere, that guy knows the lay of the land here better than any of us, and then there's the fact that I don't wanna stay in a place where some sick ass shit happened. I say we just get up what supplies we can, take the girl, and make a break for it."

"Where shall we go Matthew? Soon it will be dark. There is no other structures for miles, and we do not know this area or how many Kyonshi are in these woods. Here we have a fence and a supply of arms as well as food. As long as one of us is watching, we shall be safe. Travis is only one, we are four. If he tries to return, he will die. Besides, how can we care for her injuries if we are running for our lives?" hiromi says pointing to the unconcious female lying on the ground.

"I will take care of her, if you will quietly take care of the Kyonshi, all will be well." Grabbing her bag from where it was left on teh porch, Hiromi scopped up the unconcious naked woman and carried her to the pond. Pulling out the last of her shampoo and soap, she began to scrub the stranger cleaning off the layers of filth, grime and fecal matter caked onto her skin.

Emma continued to shoot. Then she stopped. "It's not right. You know? Why? Doesn't he have sympathy." She said turning to Hiromi. Her anger rised "The lord. Psh. I'll show him hell instead." Emma growled. Angry tears slowly moved down. She put the silencer on her sniper and slung it over her shoulder. She walked away quickly. Slumping against a tree, just wanting to be alone.

Daniel finished off the remaining zombies gathered around the fence before walking over to Matt. "I agree with you. This place is tainted. But... I don't know her name yet. Sword girl is right too. It probably isn't smart to run around in unknown territory at night. Especially with... Injuries. Maybe we should scout in the morning, or sometime soon. Get a feel for the land and see if we can find a better base. Or that sick bastard's hiding place." Daniel said. After a moment he realized he didn't even know this stranger's name. "By the way I'm Daniel. It's good to meet you." The ex pilot said extending his hand to Matt.

Cody followed Emma to the tree and sat down next to her. He gently wrapped his arms around her. "I... This... Dan will get him." Cody said finally. He just sat in silence with Emma hopping to offer her a small comfort from what they'd seen tonight.

Emma sighed, she leaned her head on his shoulder, to upset to think about it. "I don't care if Dan gets him... I want to kill him...I do." She said this softly and sadly.

After using the last of her pesonal cleaning products, she had removed all the filth from the younr petite brunettes body. The girl was starting to wake up, and Hiromi wanted to get her inside quickly so if she started screaming again it wouldn't attract any more Kyonshi.

Wrapping the giril in an extra long tee shrit sh had, Hiromi carried her inside and laid her down on a couch. Going into the kitchen she found some chicken broth to feed Travis victim, and she went back to the couch to wait for her to regain conciousness.

Matt took Daniel's hand and gave it a firm shake, "Matt, pleasure to meet you Danno. So what did you do before the proverbial shit hit the proverbial fan?" He gave a slight nudge towards the house with his head as he asked this question and headed in that direction.

Daniel followed Matt, happy that someone in the group didn't hate him. "Well I joined the Air Force as soon as I hit eighteen. I served for three years as a fighter pilot, then I moved back home and got a job in an auto shop. I picked up some basic repair skills hanging out with the guys who worked on the jets, so a mechanic seemed like the best job for me. I pretty much fixed cars until the zombies came. My buddy got us some guns before this whole thing started, and they've saved my ass more than once." Daniel said fondly patting his AK-47. "But once everything went to shit I got my family together and... A hoard got us... I'm the last..."

Daniel stopped speaking for a moment and cleared his throat before continuing. "After that I've just wandered around trying to find survivors. I met Cody a while back and we ran together for a few months. You may find this hard to believe, but he was even worse at survival stuff back then. I tried to teach him how to keep himself alive, and apparently he actually remembered some of it. Or at least his dog did." Daniel laughed as he and Matt entered the farm house.

"Cody and I got split up in an old warehouse. We were looking for guns, and a whole pack of zombies cornered us. I distracted them and told Cody to run. I didn't think I'd make it out, but I found a grate in the back room that led to the sewer. After I made it out I couldn't find Cody, so I left the town. I've been wandering ever since." Daniel said. "What about you? What's your story?" Daniel asked the other man.

Cody nodded solemnly. "You know how I feel about violence, but that guy... That dude deserves whatever you can dish out. You, Dan, Matt, Hiromi, I don't care who does it, but he deserves... I don't even know anything bad enough. That guy just deserves Hell." Cody said quietly. After a moment he reached into his pocket and pulled out a joint. He lit it up and took a long pull, holding the smoke in until he coughed it back out. "Today has been... Just too much." Cody said taking another long hit from his joint. He silently offered Emma the joint as he slowly exhaled the smoke.

Emma smiled a little, she took a few large pulls from Cody's offered joint, then gave it back. "I walked into a large camp full of people once.. During the beginning of the apocalypse... I... I know it feels to be her." She choked on her tears, "I-I barely got-a-away" She closed her eyes, as she gasped her sobs. "He..needs..to-d-die."

Cody tucked the joint behind his ear before pulling Emma into his chest. He gently stroked her hair doing his best to comfort her as she sobbed into his chest. "I know the world is fucked, but you're not alone anymore. We've got this whole group together now. And I know we all just met, but I already feel like it's just a big family. We'll all protect each other from the psychos and zombies out there. And even if everyone quits on you, I won't. I'm going to stick with you. I promise." Cody said as he held onto Emma.
