What Book Are You Currently Reading?

The Orchid Thief was a pretty quick read. I just started The City We Became by N.K. Jemisin.

I _loved_ this book. I recall it being a bit disorienting in the beginning — if you find it to be that way too, my advice is don’t give up!

Thanks for the heads up! I only got a few pages in today and it was different lol. I'm intrigued now.

The Great Glorious Goddamn of it All - Josh Ritter

Hah, me too! I'd just stopped in to post that when I saw yours.

Besides some truly lyrical writing in there, well, how the hell are you gonna resist a title like that?

Sounds like some of my days!

Soul Deep by Lora Leigh.

Highly recommend anything by her. She writes some very steamy and detailed sex scenes. 😈

I’m going to re-read Dune. I don’t like it. My dad made me read it when I was 12 or 13.
So many people I love, love Dune.
Another shot, 40 years later.

I reread it last year. It's not so daunting as it's reputation. Actually quite light on the hardcore sci-fi, but a convincing setting. Definitely a product of its time though. Be interesting to hear what you make of it.

Well. I’ve already read it and don’t care for it. So. Doing it again because yada yada yada not going to repeat the post I just made.

I merely meant that after 20+ ahem years had passed you might have different opinions now. I changed my mind about it after a mere 5 year gap. It's such a remove from the classic Heroes' journey I'm actually surprised that it's been made into 2 movies (and a series).

I audiobooked it…wish I had the newer edition book with me to keep track of names and relations/religions

Dune that is

"Three Minutes to Doomsday: An Agent, a Traitor, and the Worst Espionage Breach in U.S. History" by Joe Navarro

I don't like his style of writing. Reads like a diary without being one.
But I am interested in the subject so I'm reading it.

A Head Full Of Ghosts by Paul Tremblay

Very Stephen King-esque. I like it so far.

I Complici - Lirio Abate, Peter Gomez

"Three Minutes to Doomsday: An Agent, a Traitor, and the Worst Espionage Breach in U.S. History" by Joe Navarro

I don't like his style of writing. Reads like a diary without being one.
But I am interested in the subject so I'm reading it.

Quit reading it at the 3rd chapter. Bad writing style.
