I just wish I could understand it in depth. I get that it's used to duplicate hard drives to restore settings before crashes or infiltration, but that's a bit shallow, I gather...

I meant to mention that to you. Right after I reformatted, reinstalled Vista 64, installed a ton of (licensed) software and tweak the system the way I like it, I decided to make a mirror image of the C: partition. That way, if I run afoul of Adobe again--as I refuse to pay $2500.00 for Creative Suite CS4--I can pop in the mirrored copy and bring it back to the unmuddled state it was in on the day that I reformatted.

You are correct. It's a simple GUI based program that will make a highly compressed mirror image of a partition or or whole drive. It takes up far less hard drive real estate than the actual partition (it ignores free space and you can set it to ignore the huge hibernation file as well.)

If you use it the next time that you install Windoze-Whatever, then your better half can download sparkly fonts, games, virus riddled kitten screen savers etc.. and you can get your pristine system back by simply booting from the Clonezilla disc and restoring the image that you made.

I like sitting on the back steps around 11 pm, just looking up at the stars here. We're in the country, and it's one of the best sights...

I attend bonfires on fall evenings, just soaking in the woodsmoke, occasionally turning around to warm the other side...

It is indeed... on a 5120 x 1600 display (it's actually two monitors side by side.)
I have since changed the wallpaper to something more easily recognizable.

When I build another desktop, with room for more graphics cards, I'm thinking about going 4 x 4 (5120 x 3200)
