What Do You *Smell* Like Today?

I've been trying to find something that smells like old books so I can lure in this Shy HR chick. I am thinking maybe baked goods might work also... I will keep you posted😎 🤣🤣🤣
Okay... I'll see if I can find out any info to help you. But I am not betraying the sisterhood!

L'Occitane Neroli Orchid hand cream

"To smell like old books, use perfumes with notes of vanilla, amber, leather, paper, or woody scents like cedar and patchouli. Key perfume choices include Alkemia's Book of Shadows, Paperback by Demeter, or Nui Cobalt's Bibliophilia. Alternatively, blend essential oils like vetiver, benzoin, and cedarwood."

I got you man...bros before... :sneaky:

This thread caught my eye, or maybe my nose, because of a simple question: What do you smell like today?

Some time ago, I realized how powerful scent can be in attracting others. At that point, I was teaching Pilates and experimenting with essential oils, trying different blends and quietly watching how people reacted. The combination that really caught my attention was sandalwood, bergamot, vanilla, and patchouli. After I started wearing that scent mix, I noticed something interesting: the men at work seemed to linger a little longer, hang around after class, or find reasons to start conversations.

Of course, I kept using it. But eventually, management mentioned that my “perfume” was a bit strong. Most of the negative feedback came from the women in the class. I've never been sure if they didn't like it, or me, but it felt like their animal instincts were kicking in and seeing me as an odorous rival.

My boss, who was a guy, shrugged it off and said he didn’t personally mind, but I chose to stop wearing oils during sessions.

Instead, I went to the opposite extreme.

I sweat. A lot. About ten minutes into a 45-minute Pilates routine, my skin is shining, and by the end, the fabric across my chest is dark from sweat with two perfect dry circles where my nipples are. I stopped wearing any fragrance. No oils, no perfume, not even deodorant. That sweat is all me, no cover. And I'm pretty sure I can get ripe.

And that’s when I noticed something even more interesting.

Women produce subtle chemical signals in sweat that can influence how others perceive them. Basically, it’s pheromone-like signals. And now what I realized was that my natural scent might have been doing more of the work than any essential oil blend ever could. When I’m working out hard, sweating, breathing deeply, my body chemistry is fully in play.

It even changed the way I write. In my stories, especially scenes involving spontaneous intimacy where no one has time to shower or freshen up, I always include a reference to natural body scent. I like to make it intense and, at times, a little taboo. Readers respond to it because it feels real. Attraction isn’t always polished and perfumed. Sometimes it’s raw and human.

I don’t teach Pilates anymore, but I still take classes. I love the classes with the dads and husbands. I get my shine on and watch them for the session, trying to figure out which woman in the class is responsible for that mysterious, intoxicating scent in the air. Maybe it’s all of them, or maybe it's just me.
