I have five, count them FIVE, notifications that an author I follow has posted a new story. All the same story. All sent 16 hours ago. Also, there are notifications from 8 hours and 10 hours ago scattered among the 16-hour-old notifications. I won't name the author because this is not about them, it's about the site. @Manu

there is no dev server 😱

Edit: Laurel messaged me to assure me that Lit does in fact have a development server that Manu uses to test new site code before pushing it to production. I don't have any reason to doubt her, sooo I'm editing my comment!

Have you considered that the author, perhaps, is indecisive and republished the same story, several times, within the same minute?
Well, since authors don't publish directly, and everything has to go through Laurel (as far as we know), I suspect this is a technical glitch. In which case, it's a Manu issue. That's why I tagged him.

This is an old glitch, usually you see so and so followed you multiple times but its only one follow.

Why this should be seen as a big deal I have no idea, you know the author only posted one new story, its obvious its a glitch, how is this effecting you? Seriously, who cares?

It's a personality trait of engineers. Why does it bother you that it bothers me? Keep scrolling.

I don't know what I'm most perturbed about; stories taking too long to be published, or stories being published too quickly, or notifications not showing up or notifications showing up too much.
