What have you/did you collect?

I love to collect stories about....

peoples' lives, especially how people met and fell in love. I stopped taking a camera on trips a long time ago when I found that the best thing about going any place was meeting new people, not sightseeing. The stories are easy to store and require no dusting.I can also take them with me, wherever I go.

Eve, I also collect Barbies & assorted Barbie stuff. I have over 500 & keep getting more.I have several that were custom made for me. I am learning to re-do them, painting faces & changing their hair. Several of my friends make amazing amounts of money selling their custom dolls. Everyone laughs when they hear about my hobby, but everyone sure likes to look at them. I have one on my desk at work & everytime I go to work after a few days off, she is in a different place. She is either moving around or someone is playing with her.

hey!

i have six hundred, ninety eight barbies, i own the original barbie, original holiday barbie, original ken, original stacey...yes i collect them, but theresa...care to share info on where i can get a custom made one?

Good lord!!! 698 barbies??? I never understood why some people get so into the Barbie dolls like that. I mean, don't you know that 'barbie gives girls a poor self image'? lol

I still laugh when people say that. Like a little girl is going to be jealous of some freakin dolls looks. I mean what is there to be jealous of? For crying out loud, her boyfriend has no penis!!!:D

I was just joking about that self image thing(I'm starting to think nobody here gets a joke). But I did see Return to the Dollhouse once. Pretty good movie.

1) books...of all categories...have a very old edition of Black Beauty and Little Women
2)angels from all over the world
3)music boxes of all shapes and sizes...my favorite plays You Light up my life, my father gave me this music box two months before he passed away.

Uhm...

I collect..... Nick names... I have toooo many well 721 so far hehe and there are all reg. somewhere... now only if I could remember the passwords... sheesh

um........

Renegade hun, i may have that many, but i got them all when i was a kid. i stopped when i was thirteen, collecting them at least, minus the few i have gotten for gifts cause they are collectors. but they are all boxed up now, and i collect other interesting things that i can put to GOOD use.

Hey look at me, I got countless Ninja Turtles toys in boxes right now myself. But that still is alot of Barbie dolls you got there. Ever think of selling them for the profit?

Hey CB, I do kinda agree with those that think Barbie is partly responsible for some girls having poor self-images but I think these comes more from the way their parents raise them and what other influences they get as they grow up.

lol...

hey, one time at band camp........no that's not it...but one time, when i was twelve? icouldn't find ken, even though i had a gazilion. and my barbie married my cousin's ninja turtle. stupid story, but hey. im going to go 'play' with my toys now....hehe....um...im j/k. and renegade, hope everything is well.

Comic Books.
Last week I spent 90.84 on Comic Books - I already have a hand painted, hardbound, certified, and signed 'League of One' waiting for me this week. (Hopefully)
There are worse things to be addicted to.

Might as well face it - you're addicted to love.

You mean Cheyenne?
That's not what I'm worried about, I'm worried she'll find out I bounced a check. Oh, and that on the check to the comic book store I spelled Ninety as 'Ninty', that I still don't have one Christmas present bought and, oh, and that I left Magic on my (delete obscene word here) for thirty minutes and still not a single hair fell out.

This meaningless post was brought to you today by the Never Card: Don't leave home - Ever. (There are scary people out there!)

Hallelujah!!....I thought I was the only one that renounced the praises of the all powerful *Magic*......do you know what a sad lonely life it is to be the only person you know to not have a beloved product work for you....welcome .

you mean there is an e in ninty?......

oh and about that bounced check....hmmmmm...let me think of alllll the excuses I have heard in the last week, maybe you can use one....

1) I went on vacation to the Bahamas...and I didn't realize the checks would still go through.

2)well you knew the money wasn't in my account , why did you try to run it.

3)It's my works fault...they didn't deposit my paycheck on tuesday...ummmmm Ma'am....the check bounced on monday.

4)But I still have checks...how can I be overdrawn?......I swear to god I heard this!

I hope these are of help....let me know if you need any other excuses ;)

Ha! Glad I finished reading before I replied immediately to Never's post about buying the comic books. And I WAS going to respond, too!

I've missed you, Never. Now stop that!

Never, the hair doesn't fall out. You scrape it off with the spatula. Did you use the Lotion? If you mixed the powder, maybe you didn't mix proportions correctly?

Mine is boring actually,,, I collect depression era flower vases, sugar bowls and creamers,,, with the odd salt and pepper holders,,, beautiful when displayed all together in a well lit window

'Excuses'?
Not really, I have overdraft protection. Thing is, I deposited the check on Thursday night and used a debit card on Saturday mourning. My bank takes two business days to update my account. Of course, as I work everyday that doesn't mean anything to me.
That's the beauty of overdraft protection, for $25 I never have to have that feeling of 'rejection'.

I know you were hun. What I truly appreciate about you is your predicta-, er, responsibility I mean. (Yeah, yeah, that's the ticket.)
Yes, I know you're supposed to scrape it off but I'm telling you, it's not working. Maybe I just have tough hair, I don't know, maybe it's not meant to be.

As for the comic books, but they're so cool. I'm serious, lookie, I got all three parts of 'The Witching Hour' and 'Ceberius's Guide to Self Publishing' ('course it sorta burns me that I paid that misogynist jerk four bucks but I'll live) and see, here's 'Avigon'. (That's got to be serious literature because I didn't understand a damn thing.) Maybe Harley Quinn wasn't an inspired by but it's important to support new ventures in what's becoming such a stagnant market. (I mean, 9 X-Men, 5 Batman, 4 Superman, 6 Spiderman)
Oh, I bought a DVD as well - I bet brings the price of the actual books I purchased down to 70..
Um..

I can quit at any time! Really!
(Um, but not next week because Supergirl is coming out and (hopefully (is it okay to use parenthesis inside parenthesis?)) 'League of One' and I have to buy that because the store owner ordered it just for me.)

Damn, I would have been better off with the Ecstasy.

Fat cells. (heh heh)
Teapots (mostly miniatures)
Santa Claus ornaments
Spoons (Don't collect them anymore)

lost childhood

I collected LEGO blocks like forever as a kid. Lost the whole lot in a move during college. That really sucked. Now that I have kids of my own, I get to collect them again, although technically they are my son's, not mine. :)

I don't know if this counts as collecting, but when I was in the dating service through which I met Frank, I put a little humor into my profile and said that "I appreciate the toad in every prince." By that I meant that even though kissing a toad might turn the frog into a prince, some of the toadiness will remain, and I would love and accept the man, even his toad side. That odd humor of mine is apparently one of the things that attracted him to me when he first read my profile. My previous boyfriend, Jack, was about 99% toad and 1% prince, which is why I dumped him. Frank turned out to be about 90% prince and maybe 10% toad. Anway, over the last 4 years, my Prince Charming has bought me various frogs wearing crowns, in all sorts of sizes and materials, from teeshirts and stuffed animals to cystal to porcelain, and I've even bought one or two crowned toad items myself just because they looked cute and fit our insider joke.

In my younger years, I collected crystal figurines and Barbie dolls. I still have a few of my favorites but got rid of most of both collections.
