What is femdom agitprop?

I was absolutely enthralled with the idea they didn't give her a romantic attachment in the first two films.

That kiss in Rise Of Skywalker made me wanna hurl.
What's a little murder of your childhood hero between friends? Nothing that would stop a budding romance!

I had high hopes James Mangold would give Indy the Logan treatment.

Not in the gritty violence aspect, no, but in the more grounded, realistic approach to the character.

Even in the first Raiders, Indy wasn't a Superhero. He got his ass kicked, multiple times.

Run with that and the age thing. Stretch plausibility, sure, but don't break it.

Have fun with a really old Indy trying to keep up, I'd have been fine with that.

But did they have to destroy his dignity???

I'll agree, studio interference probably had a LOT to do with that fucking mess.

As for Ford?

He's never been shy about his motivations. He saw one last huge paycheck and took it.
Logan has got to be the most epic 'one last fight' movie I've seen. One of the few movies I'll outright gush over because it was the character done right,m broken down, bitter, self loathing, but trying to do one last good thing.

And...MCU is going to ruin it by having him come back with Deadpool so him and Reynolds can do an R rated shit bag of two guys dropping F-bombs and naking dirty jokes.

Same for Stark, amazing arc from aroggant asshole to older, wiser, run down and tired character who gave his life to save the world....they'll have him back after a couple more clinkers and it will diminish his death.

Ren had to be the biggest pussy of a "big bad" ever. Like....emo vamps in Twilight were tougher.

They had SUCH an opportunity and blew it.

Rian Johnson set it up to make Kylo the Big Bad. I loved the subversion twist; he kills Snoke, but not to switch back to the Light Side, but instead to convince Rey to join him on the Dark Side.

Totally sets him up as the Big Bad for the third act.

But nope. Disney caved to fans outrage.

If they'd had some balls, they could have made a great third act.

Disney and outrage go hand in hand, its deliberate now and I don't understand what they're doing aside from losing billions.

The entire story was a retread, Kylo trying to get Rey to joinn just like Vader did to Luke nothing new.

Then they dredge up Palpatine (oh look, even the same big bad) in the end...meh.

If you're pissed about Indy losing his dignity, what they did to Luke in that disaster was appalling.

A much better ending would have been for Kylo / Ben to survive, only to have Chewbacca rip his arms off and choke the shit out of him the moment Rey brings him on the Falcon.

That alone would have been worth the price of a ticket.

1. ~ glares angrily ~
2. She barely survives confrontation with an injured and emotionally unstable Kylo. Kylo is the biggest problem with the entire trilogy because he's a spoilt brat with too much power and no discipline, and despite being unforgivably evil gets turned into some kind of romantic hero. Ugh.
3. The studio betrayed Finn. He was set up for a wonderful character arc, but because China didn't want a black hero, they screwed him over. That fight you're whining about in Ep. 7 makes a lot more sense when you realise that Kylo is fighting *two* nascent force wielders.
Totally agree. Rey isn't the biggest problem with the trilogy, by a long shot. But her character would have been more interesting if the other characters had been developed better. They're all intertwined. The trilogy couldn't figure out what it wanted to say about them, and that's why it sucked.

Oh, and to the person who earlier claimed I hated Rey and hated the fact she was a woman lead in the movie, I present a picture from my personal collection.

Because sure, I absolutely spend money on things I hate.

I just saw this for the first time. Gotta say, you're giving off that "40-Year-Old Virgin" vibe here. Where's Oscar from The Six Million Dollar Man?

56. Not a virgin. In a healthy relationship. And not the least bit embarrassed by my hobby, thanks.

How small a crop is that of the whole collection? I have this image of a whole warehouse full of SW memorabilia 😊.

Are there leftist incell's?
There are incels in any male demographic you can think of, just like there's good men in any demographic.

In a time of divide and generalizations its best to remind yourself in any situation that its "Never 'all" but its always 'some'" in any group that's being discussed.

Unless we're talking Loving wives, then every woman is pure evil and every husband the most noble heroic creature that has ever existed and always a helpless victim of feminist cruelty.

No, there aren't, at least not at any significant level. Incels sometimes start on the left, but they almost always move to the right.

Misogynists are a both-sides issue, but incels are a particular type of misogynist. Their brand of misogyny doesn't really survive contact with liberal thinking; either they get out of inceldom (sometimes just to a different type of misogyny, sometimes to, you know, not being such an asshole) or they move further to the right. A particular brand of Berniebros--the ones who have no interest of any kind in intersectional thought and only care about stuff like universal health care, raising the minimum wage, student loans, etc.--sometimes shelter a few incels in their midst, but that's about it, and usually not for too long.

The misogynists on the left (and in the center) are typically one of two kinds. The first are "soft" misogynists who tend to think of themselves as "heroes" pushing for gender (and racial, and LGBTW, etc.) equality, and they want a pat on the back (or a roll in the hay) for it. "I'm one of the good ones, see? Look at how good and true I am to the cause. Doesn't that make me seem more appealing? What, you don't want to date me? Fucking bitch."

They really do believe in the stuff they're saying, but they retain a certain level of unexamined, internalized misogyny and privilege that lets them hold two distinct and incompatible beliefs: first, that they are fully committed to the cause, and second, that because they're a (white straight) guy committed to the cause, that should make them "special," and therefore they should be applauded/given chances at leadership/get laid more easily. To be honest? Most liberal dudes go through this at some point, and some of them never get entirely unstuck.

The second is a more insidious kind. They look like the first kind, but they do that on purpose. They don't actually believe any of the stuff, or they believe it only at a bare minimum, but they've realised liberal dudes DO tend to get laid more often, usually with more interesting women, and they therefore emulate them. This is the faux-soulful dude with a goatee and a guitar that used to infest every college rec center and quad of every campus in the 90s; they might look different now, but it's the same basic archetype. And, whereas the first kind might get mad when they get rejected, the second kind will not just get mad, they'll often turn violent. Or maybe they'll just push boundaries, or get a girl to drink too much, or get her to take a hit off of something she shouldn't, etc.

But neither of these guys looks like an incel. And neither of them is in YouTube or Lit comments screaming about femdom agitprop; the first because that would mean being an overt hypocrite, which he doesn't think he is, and the second because it would mean taking a chance at being found out.

Another way of putting it is that there's a strong stain of conservatism, in its literal meaning, with the incel philosophy. Things were so much better before the sexual revolution and women in the work-place revolution. Getting married at 18 (or 21 or whatever) is a hell of a lot more appealing if you are convinced you're not going to get those wild oat-sowing 20s and a society with strong monogamy means a partner for everyone. Having women choose partners based more on long-term financial security also gives them something to shoot for.

And (I'm just going to leave it floating here), there are also a lot of comments to the tune of 'Muslims have the right idea about how to treat women'
