What is feminism?

I understand those who think he is innocent and I understand those who think the opposite.

I don't understand those people. We don't have enough information to know what really happened. It's appalling that people are nevertheless completely convinced that he is a rapist or that she is a liar. According to some polls around 45% think he is innocent, 22% think he is guilty and only 30% say they don't know. Many are really vile about this. Her name and address get plastered all over the internet.

I think the truth is somewhere in the middle. It was not as much rape as she makes the people believe and it was not as consensual as he makes the people believe. I have done enough non-consensual and knife play stuff to have my qualms with her description of the events. And I believe her enough to not just label it as pure revenge.

That's an interesting take. But the judges can't rule that it was a bit of a rape. Legally it either was a rape or it was consensual.

Feminism?
I'm going to add this article to the mix, primarily because it means that we as a society are heavily distorting who/what women are and how they're perceived.

I hate hate HATE it when male giantess fetishists insinuate that female macrophiles are somehow backwards, deluded, or otherwise not real macros because big boy/little girl just plays into stereotypes that already exist and it's boring.

I also really fucking hate it when male macros continuously talk about how progressive they are because they're all about female empowerment, when in fact some of the worst objectification I've ever seen happened on sausagefest giantess forums.

Also, don't read the essay unless you're a mental masochist: it's really boring and self-indulgent. It also pisses me off that it's the 3rd result when searching for "macrophilia".

I don't even share the fetish, but just plug in "femdom" and it's the same result.

I have to laugh when anyone tries to justify their sexual fetish via some minority issue. It's such a miserable excuse for something that needs no excuse in the first place.

V. interesting read.

I've got a strange fascination with female giantesses and amazons like the Williams Sisters, but I like the idea of being an angry dwarf like Rumplestiltskin or an enraged bee buzzing around them.

Ugh. But I guess in that case it's more relevant... having an undertone in the essay suggest that the only real macrophilia is F/m action makes me seethe because that prejudice is so prevalent.

What's interesting is that the only time I've really entertained a sadistic fantasy is in the theoretical presence of a giant. Of course my giving them a hard time would inevitably end once they got sick of it, but I guess that's part of the fantasy too.

And really? You actually read it?

People want to make women into purely reactive creatures, whereas men are driven by rationality toward - whatever makes their dick hard. Right.

Well, at Keroin's behest, I'll record a some of my (poorly constructed) thoughts on the subject.

I like the f/F separation of feminism, because I think there are some people who go to far; that use their sex as a tool, cause or uniting device to push a personal agenda. On the other hand, there is a certain amount of feminism that is morally imperative. I wouldn't accept a society where people are subjected based on their gender, religion, political inclination, race, etc.

On a personal level, I also think that feminism is somewhat superfluous, because, again, what defines you is who you are, not what sex you belong to. Thus, a woman should be who she wants to be regardless of the existence of feminism, the Patriarchy (TM) or social mores. For some, that will be more difficult than others, but the mark of a great woman is someone who has excelled regardless of obstacles.

In fact, going over a short list of women whom I admire, most of them have achieved great things, exercised power and changed history based on their own merits -not because they belonged to some sort of "support group". In fact, the idea that women need a support group in itself implies women are unable to compete on their own equally with men -who don't have a support group. There's no NOM, for example.

Speaking of NOW, I find it somewhat peculiar that an institution that claims to represent all women ends up invariably supporting left-wing candidates. Not that there is anything wrong with supporting a leftist, but not all women are leftists. In fact, most women aren't (being either centre or right). So right there we can see a political agenda that's taking precedence over the pursuit of the interests of women.
