What pissed you off today?

Arriving at hospital in good time for my 9.30 a.m. consultant's appointment ater referral from my GP. Finally getting to see him at 11.20 a.m. Explaining that I had been referred because my poor hearing makes my volunteer work taking phone calls very difficult as I VERY often have to ask (very distressed) people to repeat themselves, where others don't have to.... that I've even had others listen in to my calls and they have confirmed that they can hear when I can't.

After speaking quietly to me, and seeing that I could hear him, he announced that there was nothing wrong with my hearing and my problem must just be that I don't pay attention to people. He wouldn't have said that if he could see me manning the phones, one finger stuck in my other ear, grimacing and straining as I ask a suicidal person to repeat the same comment for the third time. :(

But there we are. Apparently I'm fine and just need to start listening properly.

Can you demand a second opinion?

What pissed me off today: whilst I've been out, work have rung, one of the others has called in sick, so instead of finally getting a day off tomorrow where I can do housework and wait for a call from the hospital to discuss my surgery, I have to go to work. So it may be wednesday next week before I know now :(

Perhaps you could hear him because there wasn't any other distractions or outside noise as there might be over the phone, or perhaps you were reading his lips more than you realized? I'm bad about that, in person I tend to read lips more than listening because the background is so distracting. Could you ask for an actual hearing test?

I LOVE your new AV! That is SO you and Bunny! :: WIN! ::

thanks :) i found it somewhere, a couple of weeks ago and it has been my background for my computer every since. so now bunny and i go around making the noises at one another lol

Nausea which starts when I wake up in the morn, ends when I fall asleep and which I have every single day now. Dizziness and the feeling I might throw up every minut. The irritability, especialy at work with all the dear customers. The heightened sense of smell that makes me disslike things I usualy like and makes it hard for me to eat and drink at all. I cant drink even water without feeling like throwing up after. ffs

That pisses me off yes. sigh

You will hear lots of horror stories. You will hear lots of supporting stories. You will hear tons and tons of stories that will make you want to scream.

**I could add one of my own: since the pregnancy years ago, noses are so sensitive that no cologne, perfume, scented soaps or candles are permitted in the house.**

But, BUT BUT BUT BUT< things do change in each trimester. Some things get better; I hope yours do. Er does. You know what I mean.

Besides, when all is said and done, the end result (and subsequent re-establishment of some aspects of life) will make all the bad things fade quite a bit.

Tough it out. You are stonger than this, and can't give in. :rose:

I don't suppose you have access to accupuncture? If not, do you have any tricks? Lemon/citrus? Ginger? Eat small meals? Try sparkling water instead of regular.

I've always felt sick while being pregnant, but always only in the morn, never whole day. It suck really. I am not in the mood for much when I constantly feel like throwing up.

I dont have access to accupuncture no. I've tryed eat dried ginger, but OMG what a taste! I had to spit it out right away. Didnt try lemon/citrus yet. You might be right with the sparkling water, I did enjoy it at work the other day. Will buy me some tomorrow! As for the small meals, I will give it a try.

I am hungry, but dont feel like eating anything. Does that make any sense? Really lack on things I would like to eat these days.

When do you see the doctor next? If you can't drink, you might become dehydrated. That could be where some of the dizziness is coming from. Your nausea and vomiting could be causing an electrolyte imbalance.

Some women have incredibly bad nausea and vomiting with their pregnancies. It isn't a bad idea to ask your doc if you can have medication for nausea. Make sure to let them know that you aren't able to keep much down or drink enough.

I'd say call the doc first, stress how miserable you are, and please don't wait.

I am gonna see my doc monday. Will definately tell him about it yes. I might have been dehydrated yes, I drank just half litter of orange juice yesterday and that was all. Couldnt get more into me. I'll try the sparkling water today, think it will do me well.

I've always had very bad nausea with the pregnancy, but it was always only morning thing. Now it seems to be whole day thing. I didnt know it was even possible to feel sick all day with the pregnancy lol. Well I didnt know untill now. Not happy about that. Oh well hope it will pass soon.

I would prefer not to use any meds for it if possible. Dont wanna stuff myself with chemistry now that I am pregnant. Hope the lemon or something will work. I will deffo talk with my doc about it monday.

Thank you all for all the tips and advice, I will deffo give it a try!

Sorry about the whinning. :rose:

You're not whining, and you're cared about. Therefore, not a burden, either. :p

Nothing really, 'cept maybe the ache in the back. But it's early, so give it time.

I'm so pissed right now with the cable company can I just tell you. their nothing but a bunch of thieves. You pay out of your ass for cable and you truly get nothing to show for it.. I missed the old days

That I'm once more trying to keep my head held high when I wanna completely breakdown or go postal.

Re the part in bold. Oh yes it's definitely possible. I ended up in the hospital over it with one of my children. Even lost weight over it when I was pregnant!

One of the things they did was not let me drink anything until an hour after I ate. Apparently the liquid facilitates being sick and waiting an hour after eating before you drink gives you a better chance of keeping some food down.

If you do need some medicine, aparrently they have some that's safe for pregnant women. My daughter-in-law took it for a couple of months. Generally I agree with you though. That would be my last resource too.
