Loose or badly fitting specs can give headaches because of having to use your ear muscles to pull them back all the time.
Similarly needing glasses but not badly enough that your willing to pay the ridiculous prices will lead to the muscles controlling the flexion of the eyeball to feel the strain.
Muscular stress (neck, shoulders) from hunching shoulders in the cold weather or not resting hands whilst typing will also give you headache.
Some cures can be:
Get your specs fixed so that they sit comfortably without slipping.
Have your eyes checked in case you need specs.
Good typing practices and posture.
The cold weather thing is quite surprising. When you find yourself shivering... relax. Being an unconscious effect of feeling cold you will begin shivering again soon enough, but each time you notice it just relax your shoulders, you will actually feel warmer when you stop yourself shivering.
For other muscular tension: lie down (or recline in your lazeeboy) and, beginning at your toes, relax each muscle that you know you have and work your way up the legs, deciding which muscle it is your relaxing and so on up to your neck and shoulders. If the effect is complete you will be asleep before you get to the ears. Even if it's partial the concentration on making the effect will loosen the strain.
Do you know why you automatically press hard on the affected part when you bump your head? One side effect is that it prevents bruising but secondly the pressure you apply has to send its signals down exactly the same route as the pain signals. Reducing bandwidth.
So following this logic: The headache is caused by muscular tension, so the tension bandwidth need to be reduced, so take a hammer...
