What was this thread about?....oh yeah ADHD...support group? 😅

I take bupropion for generalized anxiety. It’s a great med with nearly no side effects!
I only got 1 side effect from it, and it was something I couldn't live with. It kept me wound up 24/7. I barely slept for 4h of light sleep, and it didn't ease over time, even on the contrary. (This was over 10 years ago.)

Shortage on Elvanse on this side of the world too. Should be passing by the end of October...
Around the world I think. And they keep postponing the time when it should be available again. But at least last month 30mg Elvanse for kids was apparently still available, thought the adult 30mg version was out of stock. Weird! It just needs a different prescription.

Every day! Main reason of the extra holes in the sweaters too.
I wonder if this is why I fuck up my shoes! I always hit or rub them against things accidentally.

I get my meds at costco and still haven't had any issues.

I also started taking ashwagandha and its really helping manage my stress

Costco near me didn’t have any Adderall. Too bad too. Their prices are so much better than CVS.

I’ll have to try the ashwagandha!

That's crazy! They tell me sometimes they're almost out but the delay has been minimal
Although I've gotten different manufacturers

Yes!! Try it out

This was messing with me pretty badly. They don't all work the same. And having to call half a dozen pharmacies to see who had 30 in stock, then ask the doctor to send the prescription to a different place each month was more work than I could manage.

I've now been on a journey of trying to get the dosage right on an alternative (Vyvanse). I hate this process.

I don’t blame you at all for hating the process! It sucks!

I haven't notice ant difference bc i haven't pay attention. I probably should haha

Oh wow. When i was calling to ask so i could change pharmacies no one would tell me without the prescription. Im glad you figured out a system

Yeah the process sucks!!

Your stories make me very grateful for our system where a prescription is good in all pharmacies by definition.

That's true for a lot of medicines here, too. If you go to pharmacy A and they're out, they'll transfer the script to pharmacy B.

But stimulants, like Adderall, are a controlled substance... no refills, no transfers, etc. If the pharmacy you usually go to has 10 pills, but not 30, they can't give you 10 now and 20 later... you have to ask your doctor for another prescription in 10 days.

Here it's not possible to transfer, as prescription are universal and not tied to any pharmacy. That applies to ALLmeds. Prescriptions person electronic, and their use is controlled on a national level.

And refills depend on how the drug was prescribed. That 10+20 would absolutely be possible as the prescription still had those 20 left.
My late husband has even oxycodon (bc of cancer) prescribed for a whole year - any med can only be bought for max 3 months use at a time, but 1 month lots are also possible, so it's self-evident it was bought in several lots.

Yes some pharmacies won’t tell you if they have it even if you tell them you have prescription. Like doctors are busy too. They aren’t going to cold call the pharmacies for their patients.

Started to hit a hyperfocus groove today on a project that I've been stuck on for three weeks and almost immediately got interrupted with something I couldn't avoid/ say no to.

I'm curious.
Thinking about the dopamine minefield that it is lit, I wonder what level of notifications people have turned on. Growing up on old lit, there was definitely a slower pace of activity in no small part because there were no notifications for threads. Private messages would pop up if you navigated to a new screen, but the movement of information wasn't as instantaneous as it is now.

I turned off notifications for most things here. I couldn't handle the interruption of someone liking a post. I still subscribe to threads and use them like we used to, which is no notifications and navigating to my watched list or going to The Playground main page. I can see how having all those hits of notifications would spike my dopamine and it has me thinking about I already feel the dopamine mismatch between here and there. I couldn't imagine getting alerts for everything 🥴

What notifications have y'all turned off, if any?

Stress tends to really bash my ADD. I got my work schedule messed up recently. I knew the schedule. I thought about it. But I wrote the time on the wrong date. What prevented me from catching it was feeling stressed out from something else. I always have a hard time on here with keeping up with what I said, either on the threads or privately. Which is one reason why my bio says no pm's please.

Oof, yes.
For some stupid reason I opened my PM box back up recently. I have no idea why, but I had to turn those notifications off, too.
I can't handle PMing and posting. There's an emotional part to that, too. I like my shit being in the open. I dunno why 💁

For me, my archenemy on my life with ADHD is the clock...
Time moves so slow all the time, yet I am always running...
It appears to me that the clock always plays a trick on me. I have a meeting at 1, and at 12 I prepare for it.
I need to be on time but then, the clock, without any regard from my own state of mind decides at 12:05 that it now should be 1:10... How did this happens? I swear that there is a coworker changing the clock on my back...

(Damn... maybe that is the side kick of my archenemy - impulsiveness... could it be?)

What would be your archenemy on your everyday life with ADHD?
Slack! Slack is my archenemy. I always need to clear all the incoming messages before I can return to doing real work.

It's weird to realise that I probably have ADHD too, not just being on the spectrum. Those two balanced each other decently until I got medication pushing the ADHD side forward.

My arch enemy is constantly being on the overdrive. Even half of the time I sleep.
