When Darkness Falls

Dahmnall

The maid gave them the slip. "FUCK!" Dahmnall yelled "There they are get them!" two guards ran down towards them. Dahmnall quickly took his one down in two moves, busting its arm. Finn killed his with a his shotgun. "Show me where they are keeping the girl!" Dahmnall said "I..I...I CANT!"The guard yelled "They'll kill me!" "Kill you? MOTHERFUCKER I'LL KILL YOU! SHOW ME AND I MAY CHANGE MY MIND!" "just up the hall last door on the left," "thank you," dahmnall said "Bye bye now." dahmnall shot him. they progressed to the end of the hall and Dahmnall kicked open the door. "AMI!!!" he yelled.

Dracius looked back at the doorway, as voices started coming closer. He waved his arm towards the door and the door closed, locking itself as all the furnature in the room suddenly vibrated, then slid forward, baracading the door.

"Hold close to me." Dracius said, calmly walking out to the balcony where he had appeared. "He stepped up onto the retaining wall, bringing Leola with him. The two huddled close before simply stepping backwards and plumetting off the edge.....

...and were gone....

Amelia

Amelia looked up when she heard footsteps going down the hall and kept thinking that he can't be back yet. She screamed when the door was suddenly kicked open.

"AMI"

Amelia looked at him, trying to figure out if this was some trick and got up off of the floor and ran over to Dahmnall.

Leola watched as the door slambed shut and the furniture slid towards the door. "Hold close to me." She followed Dracius to the retaining wall of the balcony and stepped up beside him wrapping her arms around him and holding him close. She could smell death on him, she breathed it in like fine perfume, revelling in the feel of his arms around her. They stepped backwards and fell over the side. Leola just about let out a scream as she felt the air rush past her, till they disappeared.

Amelia

Amelia kissed him back and started to get panicked and said,

"We have to get them out of here! They are both crazy!"

Amelia thought about wrapping her hand up but believed that it would be too painfull right now and walked over to the bathroom door showing them the sleeping children.

Dahmnall

Dahmnall picked up the two little girls,"Come on lets go!" he said running out the door "Finn run ahead and get the van and put Michael and Eamon in it." "On my way," he said running.

Amelia

Amelia followed Dahmnall and Eamon out the door after taking one last look at Fry. At least his girls would be getting out of this alive. She followed after them feeling sick after everything that had happened.

Dahmnall

they got out to the van quickly. Finn had put the bodies of his brothers into the back. Dahmnallput the two girls down in one back seat and dat with amelia in the middle one. "let me see your hand, Ami."

Amelia

Amelia was relieved that they had made their escape without further problems. Dahmnall put the girls in the backseat and then asked to see her hand. She winced when she brought out her hand for him to see and to destract herself from thinking about it said,

"We need to take the girls to their mother and then find a way to get them all out of the city."

Dahmnall

Dahmnall winced when he looked at her hand. "We'll get the girls taken care of."
he said. He gently kissed her hand and said "I can set them for you, It will hurt, but then I can wrap your hand up and take care of it for you."

Amelia

The blood left Amelia's face and she felt like she needed to throw up at the thought of setting the bones. When that passed she said,

"That is really sweet and if it was because my fingers had been popped out of joint I would agree with you. But I'm going to have to be a baby here and request a doctor and drugs before doing anything to my hand. If you happen to have any whiskey on you right now, I wouldn't turn that down."

Dahmnall

"My dear Ami, Dahmnall is never without whiskey." he said with a bit of a chuckle. "Do your prefer american or irish?"

Amelia

Amelia was relieved that he didn't push the issue of setting her broken hand. At his answer about the alcohol she grinned and said,

"Irish, of course."

Dahmnall

"Aye, theres a good lass" Dahmnall said with a smile. He pulled out a large bottle of jamesons irish whiskey from under the seat. "here ya go ami." he said offering the bottle to her. "Did ya know that the word "whiskey" comes from the irish "uisce" meaning water?"

Elsewhere....

Gustav was sitting in one of the many, carbon-copy late night coffee shops reading the newspaper. His coffee was a heavilly spiced latte, but it sat untouched. He really wasn't interested in drinking the coffee, not that he could really, but it smelled rich and wonderful, and that was the real reason why it had been purchaced.

He had flipped open the paper with a practiced ease, right to the local obituaries. There was a half page article, lamenting the tragic deaths of the members of White Wings, a Christian Rock group which had been gaining popularity on the West Coast. In Tune magazine had even commented that the band was 'a breath of fresh air in these troubling times.'

Gustav had never met any of them and did not particuarilly care for their music, or for any rock and roll for that matter. Still, Master Dracius had felt that they might have had the touch of divinity which only came from true faith and had wished them dealt with. That was enough for Gustav.

It was a simple matter, having come across their tour bus driver last night and had spent a rather enjoyable hour or so, chatting about the open road and the laborious tasks of driving long distances. Gustav, who was a diesel truck driver, (at least at that moment he was) readilly concurred, mentioning with his ever so pursuasive voice, that the worst part in driving were those wee hours at dusk and dawn, when one might possibly fall asleep, especially when driving along steep roads or bridges and the like.,... truly very dangerous to fall asleep at the wheel at those times, even for a moment lest you loose control....

And sure enough, the article had mentioned that the cause of the accident was human error, that the driver had nodded off and struck a barrier, causing the bus to rebound and break through the railing as they were passing over a bridge.

Tragic.

Gustav picked up his coffee, inhaling deeply before putting it back again.

Come to me.

The words reverberated in his skull and he imeadiatly knew that Master Dracius wanted him and where to go. Without hesitation, Gustav calmly stood, leaving his paper and coffee where they lay, disappearing into the crowded night traffic.

Dracius and Leola were walking, almost merrilly along through an empty lot, on a hillside overlooking the city, not far away. They had only just departed the doomed mansion where Leola had untill recently been dwelling. Dracius, for the fact that one of his havens had just been lost, his prisoner liberated and nearly a dozen servants been destroyed, seemed in high spirits.

There was a cawing overhead as a pair of nightbirds chased each other around but it was the snarl of a rather large german sheppard which drew the attention of the two vampires.

"Welcome Gustav." Dracius said with a smile. "I do not think you have met Leola yet, she is a guest in my realm."

Leola walked with Dracius. The further they got from the mansion, the more she began to think that Dracius might be angry at her for failing. She knew she didn't tollerate it, so she really didn't think Dracius would. She didn't know what to say.

All of a sudden a huge dog snarled and Dracius said "Welcome Gustav, I do not think you have met Leola yet, she is a guest in my realm."

She breathed a sigh of relief, that he introduced her so well. "Good evening Gustav." Leola replied.

The dog padded towards them it's pink tongue lolling out as it came. It stopped some 10 feet begore them, suddenly standing up on it's hind feet. As it stood, it's features changed, altering until finally a man stood where the dog once did.

He was an excellent speciman of manhood, tall, blond hair and blue eyed. He was not huge, but his musculature was very well defined. Only the paleness of his skin detracted from his features at all. He bowed slightly from the waste once his shift had completed.
"Guten abend, freulein Leola." he said.

Dracius motioned from Leola to the newcomer. "Leola, this is my newest childe, Gustav Muller. He is most accomplished in getting things done for me."

When Leola saw the dog turn into a handsome man and say,"Guten abend, freulein Leola." he said.

Leola clapped her hands together and smiled, "How wonderful!"

"Leola, this is my newest childe, Gustav Muller. He is most accomplished in getting things done for me."

"Absolutly wonderful," Leola giggled and held onto Dracius's arm, " A most marvalous talent he has, my Lord."

"He has many tallents." Dracius commented. "But at the moment, he has something to do."

Gustav nodded and trotted down the hill and back towards the city. His physical shape altered as he ran until the dog was back, vanishing quickly into the distance.

"And so," Dracius began. "I suppose we should find you a new place to stay for the night as well as a bite to eat." He started off again, walking towards an access road not far up above where they stood.
"And you can finally tell me why you have come and asked for santuary in my city."

Leola watched the man/dog run away.

"And so, I suppose we should find you a new place to stay for the night as well as a bite to eat. And you can finally tell me why you have come and asked for santuary in my city."

"That would definitly be conversation best left till our appetites are satisfied." Leola smiled up at Dracius. "Since you didn't get the time to eat before we had to make our escape."

Dracius chuckled, but not nesessarilly because of what Leola said.
"Do not concern yourself with me. I had Italian before coming into the city, but tonight has made me generous, so we shall dine before I remember that you did not answer my question."

They traveled up to the road and began walking down along the road, a lesurly rout back to the city suburbs.

Leola loved walking at night. When she was alive it used to scare her, but now, it was exhilarating. She loved the sounds at night, the coolness of the air. The night gave her a feeling of power. That nothing out here could harm her. Then she thought of the men that attacked the house.

"If you don't mind my prying, what are we going to do about the hunters?"

"At the moment, not a thing." Dracius answered. "They are doing exactly what I want them to do, all of them, and they have no more relevence in my plans than the rising sun."

He made a dismissive gesture with one hand. "All the world is a song my dear, I am but the composer.....and everyone dances to my tune."

He noticed a pair of headlights moving towards them along the road. Those lights revealed themselves to be a telephone maintenence truck which slowed as it came up to the couple, walking in the middle of the access road.

"Hey buddy, you need help or somethin?"

Dracius smiled, motioning slightly for Leola and to the passanger sitting in the cab of the truck. Dracius stepped up to the driver. "Yes," he purred. "I think you might be able to assist me..."

The driver realized something wasn't right and became concerned as soon as he saw Dracius's face up close. He tried to stamp on the gas, but the vampire's arm simply smashed through the partly opened window, tearing the metal door away like it was tinfoil. The driver was yanked out just as quickly and was soon in the vampire's arms, as helpless as a babe while a pair of fangs punched into his throat.......
