When RP takes control IC thread

Seth

She really wanted to make sure he wouldn't try anything, didn't she?

"I only want the luxury of sleeping next to a woman. I travel and fight so much, I rarely get the chance. All I ask is sleeping company. Anything else...would be up to whoever I'm with." He looked at her solemnly. He removed the glove from his right hand and held it out.

"Do we have a deal, m'lady?"

Skyler

Her brow arched slightly at his mention of spending a night ‘sleeping’ next to him. He then removed his glove and offered his hand to seal the deal. She wasn’t sure what he might have up his sleeve, but she knew if he tried anything she wasn’t happy with he’d be in for one hell of a surprise.

“You should know what I am about to say I say because the friend I am trying to save means a lot to me.” She took his hand briefly, “You have a deal.”

She released his hand and stepped back, reaching to pull up the hood of her cloak. She looked to him, “I shall find you then at nightfall.” She lowered her arms and let the cloak fall to cover her pale hands, then turned to go, stepping towards the door.

Seth

"I'll be here." Seth called after her. "Bring the stone friend."

After she had gone, he moved back over to a table in the corner of the room and picked up the ale glass. How very intersting indeed. This may turn out to be an interesting few days after all.

He downed his drink, then moved over to the bed in hoping of catch some sleep before nightfall. He was going to need some rest if he is to enter Cronx Temple and be the first knight to ever retrieve the Supersoft.

Skyler

She headed quickly back to the inn just as the sun's first rays were cascading over the tops of the buildings. She slipped in and headed back upstairs, she wondered if Jasleth had caught up with them and thought to check the inns.

She hoped the arrogant Knight knew what he was talking about, she hated relying on someone so cocky. But the townspeople seemed to think that he knew what he was talking about.

She slipped into the room and moved to Dominic, she ran her hand down his arm. "Hopefully we'll have you back with us soon." She hoped for the Knight's sake that he knew what he was talking about. She pushed the thought that followed out of her mind.

She figured she had better sleep, she was sure tonight was going to be a long night. She looked to Kryss, "I left a message down at the front incase Jasleth comes looking for us. They'll let him know which room we are in."

She moved to one of the two beds in the room and dropped her cloak to the floor, then she ran her fingers through her long black hair. Laid down on the bed and as the sun rose above the rooftops, she slipped into sleep unable to fight to stay awake.

~Ooc ok, gonna try to do this reasonably hehe sorry haven't been around to post more.~

When that Knight put his hand to my cheek, totally ignoring him, just before I was going to push his hand away, Skyler took control. Which I was glad for. Normally I stayed away from the know-it-alls and egoistical of themselves. Wasn't my style.

Plus I was to worried about Jas, to really say anything to him. My thoughts were straying for the worse. Granted there were no sounds of fight, but that could also mean the fight ended in worst of ways. I was so tempted to go out looking for him when she left to talk to the knight.
Instead I stayed to get us somewhat settled into the inn. When she wasn't back from the breaking of the sun, a tinge of worry for her came till she came into the room and passed out. I wanted to know what happened with her and knight, if she took him on his offer. But like most things it wasn't my business, didn't stop me from worrying about her though.
There was no way I could sleep knowing that Jas was still out there. I know she left a message for him, still, that didn't settle me in the least. Left the room to wonder outside a bit, hanigng close to the gates every so often checking outside the gates. After a while I went to the inn to get something to drink and eat while keeping an eye out for him.

Skyler

As darkness fell, she began to stir. She rolled over and opened her eyes and spotted Dominic. She sat up quickly remembering her meeting.

She quickly moved into the bathroom to clean up, they had traveled a long way last night and the sun caught her too fast this morning for her to be able to clean up before falling asleep.

She knew Dominic would be safe here. She looked around and saw that Kryss had not returned, nor had Jasleth. She was a bit worried, hoping Kryss didn’t go look for him.

She went to her pack, pulled out a brush and brushed out her hair, leaving it loose.

”Slip, I am going to talk to someone to find help for Dominic. Please keep watch over him.” She turned and hurried from the room, locking the door behind her. She didn’t like the idea of seeing this guy, but she had made a deal and she needed his help.

She left the inn and headed for the Knight’s quarters, hoping he didn’t think she had changed her mind. She thought to herself he had better not be lying to her or he would pay dearly.

Jasleth

Jas grumbled as he stalked through the dark streets of the fortress-town. First that elf he had healed had taken off like greased lightning, not bad in itself except that it pissed off the gate guards so much they'd stopped Jas. It had been the knowledge that he would have to face the entire Garrison by himself that had kept him from just punching out the sanctimonious pricks. He had lost hours...and then spent time going to the Temple and finding no one there. then looking for the right Inn. He was worried...why hadn't they gone to see the White Mages? Where were they?

Jas took a moment to lean against a building, and crack his neck. Irritably he looked up at the cloudy night sky. He missed Kryss. He could be with her now...instead of having to tramp through the cold streets. Just as he was about to head to another Inn and see if his companions were there, he caught a familiar form moving throught the night. It was cloaked...but it sure moved like Skyler. "Hey!" "Hey, Skyler!" He broke into a jog to catch up. "Where have you guys been?" "What's happened with Dom?" "Did you see the White Mages?"

Skyler

She stopped suddenly as she heard Jasleth's voice call her name. She looked to him, "I should ask you the smae Jasleth. We have a room in the Golden Dragon Inn. Kryss was not in the room when I awoke."

She looked as if she was in a hurry, " We didn't see the White mages, We met up with a smart ass knight who knows where to find the cure for Dominic. I am late meeting him now."

She looked worried as well, "Dominic is in the room, with Slip. I think Kryss was looking for you today." She smiled then, "It's good to know you are alright, I'm sure she will be so relieved. Now I have to hurry before the knight changes his mind and won't help us find this cure for Dominic."

Seth

"I wouldn't worry." Seth said walking out from the shadows. "I knew you would still be here. I came out to find you actually." He moved over to the duo. "So I see you are ready to go. I assume this flake here will be accompanying us as well, hmmm?" He guestured to Jas. "No matter. The more the merrier I guess. Now listen, we need to bring your friend with us. I brought a wagon to haul him around in." He pointed to a small cart behind him. "Since this fighter guy looks like a work horse he can pull him along."

Seth smiled at them. "Well? Let's get the statue and get going." As an afterthought, he added, "And will your other female friend, the tasty looking one, be joining us as well?"

Skyler

She turned as she heard Seth's voice. "I know I need you help tp save my friend, but I will not tolerate you talking to my friends that way."

"We are just as good as you, and with your attitude we may be better." This guy really got on her nerves. "He is in the Inn... and Jasleth is no work horse I am sure he could handle pulling the cart, but a true horse would be better."

"And yes Kryss shall be coming along." She turned to Jasleth, "This is the Knight I spoke of, he is supposed to know where we can find the cure for Dominic."

Jasleth

He did NOT just say that. "Hold up, pal." "I don't know who you think you are, but if you're a knight worthy of that rusty armor of yours, you'd be more polite." He tossed the tails of his headband back, his eyes narrowing. "If you can get a cure for Dom, I'll gladly fight beside you, but I suggest you drop the 'tude or you might get dropped." He uncleanched his fists through force of will as he spoke. "I am Jasleth, Monk of the Red Principle."

He glanced back at the wagon. "I'll carry Dom, you can leave your cart here." "Let's get going, the night's wasting." As they turned toward the Inn, Jas cocked an eyebrow. "By the way, ironhide, you say anything like that tasty comment about either of my friends again and we'll have words." "Just so you know."

Seth

"Monk of the Red Principle!" Seth exclaimed in mock fear. "My, that must be so intimidating! Slimes everywhere cower before you." He spat on the ground. "I am Seth Falcon, top knight of the Beoulve Court. I have a level that is at least three times yours, so I suggest you remember who is in charge here, alright?"

He ran a hand through his red hair and turned back to Skyler. "So let's get the rest of this little party together. Racoon Hill isn't far from here, but the faster, the better. We are going to enter the dangerous Cronx Temple." He followed them to the inn and waited outside while they got Kryss and Dominic.

Skyler

She moved into the Inn with Jasleth. “I’ll bring our stuff and Dominic down. I think Kryss is in the tavern here in the Inn. Waiting for you.”

She turned to go, then turned back. “I know he’s an ass, but right now he is our only form of hope of helping Dominic. Please if you find Kryss in the Tavern, wait before going outside to him.” She knew there was going to be trouble, this guy just seemed to know how to agitate everyone.

“Oh Jas, please see if they actually have a true Bloodwyne here in the tavern. ”She smiled. “Thanks, I’ll be right down.”

She headed upstairs and returned shortly with Dominic and their packs. She set Dominic down near Jasleth. She was looking kind of tired and the night had just begun, she hoped the tavern had the bloodwyne as it would help some.

Jasleth

Jas paused at the threshold of the Inn before Skyler pushed him through. "I know exactly who's in charge, bucky." He pointed to Skyler, "She is." "I trust her judgement a lot more than your posturing." He smirked at the knight, "You know, just 'cause your a big dog around here doesn't give you the right to be a jackhole." Before he could continue any further, Skyler pushed him inside.

He shook his head after she spoke. She was right...they did need this guy, at least until they got to the dungeon. "Right, I'm on it."

Kryss rose from a table to meet him. Jas embraced her, holding her tight before kissing her lightly. "Sorry I made you worry, Kryss." "I looked everywhere but the right place it seems." He sihged, hugging her close again. "We can't take long...there's this asshole knight outside who knows where a cure for Dom is." "I just need to talk to the Innkeeper...and we can get our friend back."

Minutes later, the couple exited, a bottle held in Jas's hands. Seeing Skyler not present, he just smirked his most insolent smirk at the knight. "Well, once Skyler gets back we can get moving." "Think you'll be able to keep up and not give us away with all that metal strapped to you?"

She made her way to the room, gathering their few things, she managed to pick up Dominic once more. She couldn't keep this up, he may have not weighed more than his normal weight, but her strength was fading.

She moved downstairs and dropped the room key on the counter, then headed outside. She hoped she was in time to keep Jas and Seth from getting into a fight. She really just wanted to get this over with and have Dominic back, she was beginning to miss him, even though he was here, it just wasn't the same.

She stepped out of the inn nad made her way to where Jas, Kryss and Seth were waiting. In the moonlight they could see there was something bothering her, even though she made no mention of it.

She looked to the three of them. "Ok now we're ready..We shouldn't waste any more time. Jasleth if you would please see to Dominic." She looked to him. "Did they have the wine?" She knew it would help, but the effects would only be temporary.

Seth

"Well let's go then." Seth said. "Racoon Hill is just north of here. I'll take you there." He pulled a long broadsword from his backsheath and led them out of the city.

The large hill came up on the horizon and it seemed to move all on it's own. "Racoon Hill is said to be haunted, if you beleive that bullshit." Seth pointed to the hilltop. "Cronx Temple is built inside the massive hill. Beoulve Castle has been here a while but no one has ever managed to get the Supersoft." He smirked. "But where they failed, we will suceed."

They approached the bottom of the hill and Seth motioned to them. "Let's go. And be on the watch for..." There was a loud screeching noise. "...Darkwood Apes." Seth growled. "A pack is headed our way."

Sure enough, a group of monkeys with jet black fur were charging down the hill at them. There were seven of them with red eyes and foaming at the mouth. They screeched again. The leader tossed a rock at Seth. He swung his blade in an arc and deflected the rock.

"Get ready!" He shouted and charged at the primates, swinging his sword.

Skyler

The trek to Racoon Hill was not going well for her, she stayed behind the group, not wanting them to see that she was growing tired. The wine had helped but it was not pure and helped very little. She was going to need fresh blood and very soon.

She listed as they walked and Seth kind of rambled on about the hill being haunted and the temple being inside or something. She couldn't concetrate and his words seemed to make less and less sense to her.

She heard his words, but the screech is what caught her attention. She looked up in time to see Seth deflect the thrown rock. She pulled her katana, but it felt like a broadsword in her hands. She shook her head trying to clear it, she knew she needed to help Jas, Kryss and Seth so they could help Dominic.

She moved to step forward, raising her katana, but before she could join the battle she collapsed. She was behind the group, so they wouldn't know she had fallen until the battle was over.

Seth

Seth swung his sword around, clashing with the stick one of the apes was holding. Another swing managed to cut the stick and two. The monkey tried to run away, but Seth was too fast. He gave one last arc with his blade, decapitating the attacking monkey.

He turned to Jas, motioning with his hands. "What are you waiting for? Your a Monk of the Red Period or whatever; why don't you do something?"

Jasleth

Jas ducked a rock, then deftly knocked another out of the air with a well timed punch. "Damn monkeys!" Snarling, he leaped forward to meet the frontmost as the maddened ape-beasts closed in. A knee strike snashed into an arm, deflecting vicious claws that would have split his head open. He lashed out with a punch to the armpit that dislocated the limb, the beast howling in pain. Feeling the hairs on the back of his neck stand up, he dove onto a roll just in time to avoid a swipe as another ape charged in on him. He firmly planted his hadns then, pushing up into a headstand kick that sent the ape through the air to impact hard on the ground. He followed the momentum through, bringing a heel down in an axe kick on the skull of the first ape he had struck. As the creature fell, he brought his foot down hard, stomping with all his might, shattering the beast's skull like a cheap clay pot.

"Damn, there's so many of them!" "Better use some techniques to level the playing field." Jas paused as two of the beasts circled him, waiting until the both leaped at the still monk. "Spin Fist!" "Yah!" The Darkwoon Apes seemed to move in slow motion, as Jas quickly spun, his fists lashing out to strike as did so, the blows hitting with terrific force. Time resumed it's normal speed as the two apes crashed to the earth, though both rose easily.

Jas snapped a quick side kick into one's face as it got to it's feet, cracking an elbow into the neck of it's companion. As the creature gagged, Jas ducked around behind it, his powerful arms locking around the Ape's middle. Focusing his ki into his legs and back, he leaped thirty feet straight into the air. "Suplex!" He inverted at the height of his dive, using one of his few grappling techniques to make the Ape absorb the impact of both their falls. The satisfying crack of the thing's neck caused a braod feral grin to spread across his featrues. He rolled away from the corpse to deliver an uppercut to the remaining Ape he was fighting. As it toppled, he used the time it took for the Ape to regain its feet to see how the rest of the party fared.

Kryss~

"Ugg not monkeys. I hate monkeys!"

One was headed right in my face with no real time to act for spell, pulling out one of the daggers and slicing the rabid monkeys throat.

"Great now I got blood on my skirt, these bastards are gonna pay."

Mostly yelling at the monkeys more than anything. Anger filled, me some of it was built up from worrying about jas for so long, then metting this arrogant knight. Started spinning in a continous motion, keeping focus on at least on monkey, raising my hands up, chanting some unfamiliar words that only I knew, suddenly a rain of fire came over the monkeys. Started out with the one I had focus on, when he went to run he crashed into another one. It was a chain reaction from there.

That was a knew spell to me still and it was fun to always try it out, draw back is, it drained me. Burning me up inside, overheating my blood. I tried hard to stay focused, instead fell to my knees. Forcing myself to not pass out. Noticed that Skyler was not in the fight, which was unusal for her.

"Wh....Where is ... Skyler?"

Panting hard at first, taking control of my breathing as I sit on my knees...

Seth

Seth swung his large sword and cut through the last ape near him. The blood splattered on his armor and we wiped it off. As he looked around, he saw that every other monkey was dead as well.

"Excellent." He smiled. "That should scare off any other attack parties." He looked back and frowned at the downed Skyler. "Now what is wrong with her?" He asked, annoyed. He marched over to the woman and shoved her shoulders. "Hey! We can't slack now! Get up!"

Skyler

Her eyes fluttered open then closed once more. Tired....too damn tired to go on. Why can't he just shut up?

She forced her eyes open once more and looked to Seth. "I can't go further right now. Tell Jasleth the wine wasn't enough.." She looked to his face, then her eyes flickered down towards his throat, she could see his pulse.

It was almost to irresistable, she closed her eyes again as it dawned on her what she needed. "Please just go, tell the others it's not safe, not right now." As she spoke, if he was watching her face, he might have been able to catch a glimpse of the tips of her fangs.

Seth

Seth frowned. What a weak woman. She had shown so much promise thus far, too.

"Fine. We'll go ahead and find the entrance into Cronx Temple. I'll take the stone boy with me." He turned back around to Jas and Kryss. "Leave her. She's too weak to go on." He saw the hesitance in their eyes. "Look, I give your friend here maybe one more day before his stone form starts to become permanent. I suggest we get moving if you want him back to normal."

He began to walk up the hill, carrying Dominic on his shoulders.

Jasleth

"Wow..." He blinked at the smoldering corpses left by Kryss's spell. "Kryss, that was amazing." Then he saw her kneeling down, and knelt beside her. "You did great, love." He put an arm around her shoulders, "looks like that fire of yours is really coming along."

He glanced up from his contemplation of her tired but triumphant face to where the knight was bending over Skyler. What had happened to her? He strained his ears to catch her words, his face growing pale as he did so. "oh no..." If she lost it here, the knioght would kill her withouot a second thought, thinking her a mad vampire...and he'd be right.

He pulled Kryss to her feet, "Get to the entrance now!" "Skyler's about to frenzy." His voice was urgent and commanding. Without waiting for Kryss to move, he grabbed one of thge apes he had killed and bolted over to where Skyler and the knight were.

"Skyler!" "Look at this ape...it just died, it's blood is still fresh!" "Use it!" "Please use it!" He threw the warm body down in front of her, hopping back into a ready stance. If this didn't work...he'd have to fight her. "Come on, Skyler...I know you're strong enough to hold on." "It's right in front of you...just reach out and feed."

Skyler

She looked up once more to find Seth being pushed away and being replaced by Jas and the smell of fresh blood. She groaned as her fangs fully extended, with fresh blood so close and her so weak she couldn’t control it.

She then moved, much faster than any would have expected, lashing out. She reached for the body of the Ape and blindly drank from it, she didn’t look to anyone as she fed, and her mind was focused only on the one thing, her survival.

Once she had finished draining the blood from the creature she looked about at those gathered near, then turned away from them. She took a cloth from the inside of her cloak and wiped the blood from her face, she really hated that anyone had had to watch that. Only a brief memory of it filled her mind, she was still hungry and fought for total control.

She moved away from Jas and Seth, and found another of the creatures, this time she was much more controlled in her feeding as she drained it. She was thankful that they were dead and had no chance of turning. Once she had fed on the second creature, she felt her strength return, she stood after wiping her face and even though her fangs had not receded she was in full control of herself this time.

She looked to the others, “I’m sorry… We can continue now. I should be fine and you all are now safe.”
