When RP takes control IC thread

Seth

Seth smiled as Skyler grabbed the Supersoft. She certainly was the inventive one. As the bats began to come down from the ceiling, Seth poked Jas.

"What are you two waiting for? Help her out! I have to keep the traps deactivated!" Jas and Kryss nodded and entered the room a little ways to fend the bats off. They had managed to scare all the creatures away by the time Skyler returned.

Seth smiled, then stepped off of the button, dragging Dom with him. There were no activating traps, nothing to insinuate that the buttons were even necessary. He stopped about seven feet away from them on the walkway and placed Dominic at the edge of the path. The stone figure teetered precariously as Seth held onto him with one hand, the only thing keeping Dom from falling.

"Alright. Good job, good job. Now give me the Supersoft!" Seth told them. "Don't think about moving. If you so much as move or, god forbid, hit me, I will let go of your friend. And his weight would carry him over and down the deep chasm. And he will shatter when he hits the ground. You don't want that, do you?"

"Now toss me the Supersoft easily, m'lady. You two keep your hands above your head." With a arrogant smile, he shook Dominic a few times as if he was going to let him fall. "Give me the Supersoft now!"

Skyler

She stopped as the bats were dispatched and shifted back. It was then Seth turned on them, she watched in horror as he held Dominic leaning precariously over the edge of the pit. She held her pack, “You do that and it’ll be the last thing you do.” She looked to the others, “I’m sorry guys, you know I can’t take the chance that he dumps Dominic over.”

She gently tossed him the pack, and watched to see how honorable this knight was or what amount of honor he had left.

Seth

Seth smiled as he grabbed the pack. "Thank you, m'lady." He said. "I knew you would do what it takes to save your friend."

He smiled as he pulled the Supersoft out of the pack. "Ah...this will fetch a high price indeed." He smiled. He turned to the others. "What? Did you think that he was the only one with this ailment? Other players need it and are willing to pay tons of money for it. Not game money, either. REAL money."

He slung the backpack on his shoulders and let out a smug laugh. "Well, it was good using you. And I'm sorry I didn't get to show you two ladies a good time. Maybe another time. And good luck curing your firend. Hey, you can always join in the bidding and buy it from me later."

He moved Dominic up to the walkway. "Now don't go chasing me! Catch!" He said and tossed the stone figure at them. Then he turned and ran from the room, dashing to the exit.

Thalryn

Thalryn had watched all the party members cross, then slipped in behind them as they continued into the temple. The knight would make a wrong move. He felt it.

Upon entering the room with the supersoft, Thalryn stayed at the door and watched as Skyler acquired the treasure, then became a ferret. So that’s why he didn’t mind her so much.

Then it happened. Seth had positioned himself and Dominic near the edge of the chasm.

Knew it. I knew he was gonna do that, Thal.

Don’t worry, he wont leave this room.

The fallen knight tossed the statue then headed straight for the elf in full run. Thalryn banished the invisibility spell as he unsheathed both long swords in the blink of an eye. Swords came up high in an X, right at the knight’s neck level.

“Halt or die!“ The elf growled out, sounding more like a wild elf than a gold.

Seth ground to a stop inches away from slicing his own neck on the dual blades of the elven bladesinger. His eyes locked on the blazing green eyes that spelled death as the elf spoke. “Give them back the potion, or you’ll soon taste the sulfur of the nine hells.”

A black ferret poked a head out of his pack. Tell him, Thal!

Skyler

The three on the walkway managed to catch Dominic and keep from falling into the pit below. They all worked on trying not to drop Dominic or push ecah other off the walkway.

Before Seth could leave the room, his path was blocked as an Elf appeared and blocked his way. She saw the blades he held and how close Seth had come before barely stopping.

The three companions, moved closer behind Seth, but still kept their distance as they heard the Elf's words. She wasn't sure who he was,but then she remembered seeing him in the walls of the city at Beoulve Castle just after her and Kryss' first encounter with the so-called Knight.

Seth

Seth breathing immediatly stopped. Damn invisible elves! What is this mockery? Seth took a step or two back and held the Supersoft over the edge of the chasm.

"Back off Elf. You three also. This may be your only hope for curing your stone buddy. I suggest you not take your chances." Seth growled. He drew his sword with the other hand. "Now back OFF!"

Hey fuckhead.

Seth's eyebrows rose. What the hell was that? He turned to his side and saw an iguana perched on his shoulder. It hissed and spat a wad of goo into his eyes. Seth yelled and dropped the vial. Slip immediatly stuck his tongue out and caught the handle of the flask before it could fall. He then jumped from Seth's shoulders and ran to Jas, Kryss, and Skyler, the Supersoft clutched in his mouth.

Seth managed to scrape the junk from his eyes and he realized he lost his advantage. He gulped. What was he going to do now?

He turned to the elf, sword drawn. "One side!" Seth yelled. "Lest I cut you in half!" With that, he charged at the elf guarding the exit.

Skyler

She was so thankful to see Slip in action. She was relieved when he came at the with the vial. She reached down, taking it from him. "God if you weren't a lizard I'd kiss you." She smiled and handed the vial to Jasleth.

"Please help Dominic, I have an asshole to deal with." Her eyes flashed wickedly in the partial light as she moved towards Seth.

She looked to Seth, lightly grasping his shoulder, her words were calm, cold and unafraid. "Now you, little Errant Knight, need to leard to put your poyaltied in the right places."

She then walked around in front of him, unconcerned with the sword in his hand. Her fingertips, lightly tracing along the line of his jaw. When he made the mistake of looking down to her, and thier eyes met, she knew he was hers.

"Now there will be no using this toy." She ran her hand down his arm and took the sword from his hand, letting it drop to the ground. She was calling forth every ounce of her vampire powers to hopefully keep him entranced.

Seth

Oh no, oh no, oh no! Seth panicked. What's going on? What is this? Why can't I move?

He willfully dropped his sword. This is wrong! What's going on? What is she going to do to me? Why is this happening? I want my Mommy!

His voice, however, was calm. "What do you wish of me, mistress?"

Skyler

She smiled, she could see the fear in his eyes, smell it emanating from him. She almost seemed to have an evil glint in her eyes.

She was amazed, how calm he was able to keep his voice. "What do you wish of me, mistress?"

"First you are going to tell me if there are any other traps we need to know of on our way out of here. Then you are going to tell us the exact way the Supersoft must be used. If you are truthfull you just might live. If not..." She grinned, "Well we'll discuss that soon enough."

Seth

Oh God! Oh God, I'm going to die! Seth's mind screamed.

"There are no more traps as long as you get out of here the way we came and enter no other rooms. As for the Supersoft, it may be administered however you wish. The easiest would be to pour it on your target directly. Use the whole bottle for the best effect." Then he looked at her quizically. His next statement put Seth in such a state of fear, everyone could sense it. "Mistress, if you wish me dead, you must merely tell me so and it will be done."

Jasleth

Jas's smile was vicious and cruel as he heard the knight's words. "Hey, Skyler, don't have Traitor Boy kill himself...I think he sould be a good kid, go back to town and tell everyone just how dishonorable his actions were." "Let's see if he's the Beoulves #1 boy then..."

He then turned back to Dominic. Gently he set the Oracle back on his stone feet. He pulled the stopper from the Supersoft, a faint smell akin to ozone emenatig from the bottle. Jas exchanged a quick look with Kryss. "Well...moment of truth time." He lifted the flask over Dom's head and began to pour. Th blue liquid came out slowly at first, but then Jas tipped it further, being sure to get the liquid running down the petrified man's shoulders, chest and back. "Come on Dom." "Come back to us..."

Skyler

She thought a moment, at his words. "Hmmm.... that sounds so fitting, let the betrayer take his own life. But it would be all to easy."

She looked to Jas as he moved to administer the Supersoft to Dominic. Her attention quickly returning to Seth. "Maybe I should let you run crying back to town telling of your evil ways. How about that?"

Dominic

"-it!" I yelled out loud, stumbling backwards. I was panting heavily and my head swished around wildly. What the hell was this? Where am I? This doesn't look like the woods....

"Jas?" I asked, him being the first I saw. "What's going on? Where are we?" I turned and saw Kryss as well, then Skyler standing by an unknown knight and an elf with a ferret to boot.

"Who are these guys? What in all hell is going on here, anyway?" I stopped and looked at my clothes. "And why am I soaked in blue liquid?"

Skyler

“I agree with Jasleth. You will return to town, and tell everyone what a fraud you are and have been.” She then smiled a wicked little gleam in her blue eyes.

“Oh one more thing dear Seth. You will from this day forward treat women like you are only meant to worship the ground they walk on. No matter what their station, it will be this way till the day you die. In the game and in life this new conviction will follow you.”

She turned as she heard Dominic’s voice. She wanted nothing more than to rush to his arms, but she had to finish here. “Now you will follow along like a good puppy as we leave this place.”

She looked to the elf and smiled slightly. “I wish to thank you for blocking his escape.”

She then had a softer smile upon her lips as she turned to Dominic; she walked to him and took his hand. “It’s ok now, you are fine. I will explain once we return to town for it is a very long story and out friend Seth here has some business to attend to right away.”

Jasleth

"Whoooohooo!" Jas grabbed Dom in a bear hug, spinning the confused Oracle about before releasing him. "It worked!" "You're all right!" He did a backflip, crowing with joy. "Dom...it's good to have you back." "You got turned to stone by those mages...we weren't sure there was a cure, but that ain't important, you're back now."

Then he grinned broadly at the elf, "And you!" "Thalryn, you little spellsword you, I am gonna kiss you right on the mouth." "Your timing was perfect."

Dominic

As if I wasn't confused enough. Jas had just put me in a rib-crushing hug and began to spin my body like I weighed nothing. Then he jumped around, yelling something about mages and stones, but my head was spinning like a top so quickly I couldn't tell up from down. Then Skyler grabbed my hands and told me it would be alright and she would explain later. And apparently we have a friend Seth now.

Then Slip decided to crawl up my shoulders. He perched himself, then proceeded to swat me with his tail. What the hell where you thinking, allowing yourself to be hit by that beam? You put me into a state of constant worry and mental abandon! I outta slap you silly! You're lucky I only tail-whipped you, you insensitive oaf! How dare you...wait, what did she mean if I wasnt a lizard? Slip turned to glare at Skyler.

I pinched the bridge of my nose. "Look...just....Who has my backpack? I really need a smoke."

Seth

"Yes mistress." He responded. "I will follow you back to town and then worship every woman I meet."

He turned to Dominic. "I am sorry for trying to kill you, sir." Then he went into the next room, on his way to leave the temple.

Dominic looked up suddenly. "Wait....what?"

Jasleth

"Sorry, Dom." Jas rubbed theback of his head with one hand. "We're not making a lot of sense right now, mostly because you've missed about a day and a half of time." He sighed, "More than that will have to wait, like Skyler said." "We should get out of here...this is a tough dungeon, strong monsters and traps." "We've been lucky not to run into any so far, but my yelling like a fool probably got some attention." He shot Dom an pologetic look, "I'd hold off on the smoke until we're further away...the smell will bring curious beasties to us."

Jas tucked the now empty Supersoft flask into Dom's pack before handing it to the silver haired Oracle. "Might as well hang onto that, it's good for holding potions if nothing else." The monk looked to Skyler, "Now I think we should amscray back to town." "This place still has a seriously bad feel to it."

"Oh, don't worry about the Tin Soldier there...hes the wort excuse for a knight I've ever heard of, and he tried to screw us all over, using youas a hostage." Seeing Dominic looking only more confused, "Look, I'll tell the whole story back at town, let's just get going, okay?"

Thalryn

Thalryn smiled as the group had a reunion. He'd only wished Skyler hadn't intercepted the knight's charge.

Such is life, Thal. Humans always take all the fun out of it.

Then Jasleth broke from his bear hugging Dominic. "And you!" "Thalryn, you little spellsword you, I am gonna kiss you right on the mouth." "Your timing was perfect."

Thalryn sheathed both swords just in time to get caught up in the same bear hug Dom had fallen victim to. The elf's eyes bulged as the monk squeezed and made good on his statement, kissing the elf square on the lips.

Well I never! Elistraee perched atop Thal's shoulder, trying to maintain said perch through all the elf's struggling.

"Your affection...is...appreciated...." He grunted after the monk broke the kiss and dropped him. "But not...necessary.”

Thalryn walked over to the others, Straee standing proudly on his left shoulder. “I apologize for my subtlety, but I felt it warranted. Allow me to introduce myself properly. I am Thalryn Amastacia, Bladesinger.”

He reached up and grabbed Elistraee, who proceeded to squirm in protest. Thal, put me DOWN. How am I supposed to maintain an image if you insist on manhandling me? She whined.

He kissed the disgruntled ferret on the nose. “This is Elistraee, Otherwise known as my conscience.”

Suddenly Elistraee’s ears perked up. Thal, I believe a pack of ghouls is headed this way. They sound about five to six strong and starved. We should get out of here before they come looking for a meal.

Thalryn looked serious all of a sudden, turning back to the monk. “Looks like your feelings are correct. Straee tells me there are ghouls headed this way. About 6 strong. Our options are obvious, run or fight. We have maybe five minutes. The terrain here is better here for fighting than if we get caught in the rope and pulley room. The question is, how quick can we cross? Or do we take the fight to them?”

Thalryn’s bright green eyes seemed to flare with anticipation as he mentioned the last option. Something about being a bladesinger mandated that you crave battle. He didn’t take it overboard, but there was definite battle lust. Part of the reason for having a familiar was to keep that craving in line.

Thalryn met the eyes of each of his new party members. He didn‘t trust Kryss, but the others seemed honorable, so that must count for something. He found it hard to be in close proximity to a dark elf, but that was the way of his people.

You named me after a dark elf and you like me just fine.

Straee, I named you after the Moon Maiden. She is good, most dark elves are evil.

Exactly, not all dark elves are bad.

Thalryn sighed in exasperation. Leave it to her to make him question his beliefs. Meh, no time for this now.

“Well, what’s the call?”

Kryss~

I was so ready to blast that fool of a knight with a fire ball, then things seemed to work themselves out. Besides if I did, his screams would have echo'ed through the caverns, may be pleasure to my ears to hear humans suffering, there was no need to bring added attention.

There was something about this new elf *friend* of ours, he looks at me as if I was some beast ready to kill him. His eyes told of his distrust towards me.

"Yes, you have missed quite a bit Dom, I may not show it right now, but I am very glad to have you back."

Words were low and calm, not taking my eyes off seth nor the elf, expressionless towards them. I don't have ill thoughts to often about others, but these two have us in a bad place, awkard situation with Dom's confusion. I didn't trust either of them, Seth for obvious reasons. Elf, because of the way he looks at me, and his distrust of me.
I was the first one to walk out the door, pushing past Seth and the Elf.

"If I had it my way, I say we let the fool of a knight drop in the pit with the ropes. After all, he wanted to do the same to Jas, whos to say he won't do it now? Now we have an ELF to worry about.....Both of you are such fools.."

It was obvious I was irritated, my words were to emotionless. The three that have been together all this time would for sure tell the difference in my tone. Looked straight into each of the Elf's and Seths eyes, showing them that one wrong move, and I will kill them. I didn't care if Skyler had foolish knight under control, made no difference. He put two of my friends in danger. Jas on the ropes, then Dom. I wanted him dead.

The Elf, well if he was to stay, I can tell things are going to be tight between us. The Elf was a fool because I knew he felt the same about me. One wrong move and he would be on me, just as I would him.
I walked into the room with the ropes, waiting for the others.

Thalryn

Thalryn caught a glance of hatred from Kryss as she took of toward the pulley room.

Did you see that, Elistraee? She is a typical dark elf. Even if she isn't a full blood, which only makes it worse.

Thal, did it ever occur to you that she may have just picked up on your reaction to her?

My reaction to HER? I saved the supersoft and practically captured that bastard of a knight and she hates me just for THAT. She was probably in on the deal with the knight.

Don't be a fool. She has nothing but distrust for you because you have the same for her. Give her a chance, you might be suprised.

Thalryn grumbled to himself as Kryss walked away. Guess we don't fight, then. The elf set off after the dark female, wondering what she was mixed with. Maybe wood elf. They would bed a dark every now and then, just for the dark elves reputation as lovers.

Thalryn Amastacia, stop thinking like that!

He caught up to her and decided to take Elistraee's advice.

"I'm sorry, M'lady, but I never did catch your name."

Kryss ~

Paused in the room when I heard the Elfs voice. Looking straight at him;

"My name? Why would someone that does not trust me, want my name? So if you decide to put me to rest, you would at least give my grave a name?"

Once again words were cold towards him, he was just forcing himself to be nice, that much was obvious. I hated being like towards people, it seriously wasn't me. After all he did save Dom, but then why was he following us invised? Why didn't he just come and join us from the begining? For all I know he wanted the stuff for himself. Or something else and he's playing games.

"The name is Kryss, that is all you need know. If you decide to give my grave a name, then I'll tell you what to put on as my dieing last words..... If you get that chance."

With that I turned around looking at the room more carefully, slightly hopeing there was away around this but there wasn't.

Once everyone was in the room, I started that little chant. And everyone lifted off the floor, with the speed I gave Skyler and Jas earlier.

"Let's just run for it now, as long as you all stay close to me, and DO NOT touch the ground in that first room, we'll make it out of here fast. The ropes and jumping from X to X will just slow us down. NOW MOVE."

We didn't have time to play this little trust game again, nor did I want to with now two people to not trust. This was going to kill my energy once we get free from this place, because, as well I made another fireball, again size of basket ball for light. Then we all ran over the pit. I stopped just on the other side, making sure everyone was still with me. Didn't speak nor listened to anyone, for I had to keep the two spells up. Alternating words for each spell. Wanting to get out of this place, I didn't like the feel this place had, it would be much easier to fight outside if those things caught up and chase us.

Skyler

She was so glad to have Dominic back, that she almost didn’t care about Seth. She watched as Slip took his usual perch, he seemed happy enough once more, well until he slapped Dominic with his tail. She noticed the glare from the lizard, but she was used to it, he had this way of doing that to her.

She nodded to Jas and looked to Dominic, “Don’t worry it’s not that long of a story, but it is one safer told in town.” She moved with Dominic after the others.

The elf spoke, and introduced himself and the ferret that traveled with him. “Thank you Thalryn for your good timing and stopping the little rat’s escape, we have no worries from him now, he will no longer betray us, and once in town we will be free of him.”

She could sense the tension between Thalryn and Kryss; she wasn’t sure what was causing it though. It seemed like a definite dislike, but they had only just met, so she might have been wrong.

"Well guys, we all should be thankful we were being followed by Thalryn, if he hadn't stopped Seth here, we'd have no Dominic." She looked to Thatryn, deciding time to be direct was at hand, "I don't know how you have managed to rub Kryss the wrong way so soon." In fact she had no idea of the differences held between elves. "She's pretty nice from what I have found so far."

As a matter of fact she like having Kryss as a friend if only in the game. In all the time she had been playing, she had made a point of having no close ties to anyone, but here in this short time she had made a few good friends, and was weven falling for one of them. Something she thought she would never even do.

They hurried from the temple with the aid of Kryss’ spells. She grew more impressed with Kryss the more she found out she could do. The spell craft was amazing.

They managed to make it back out in the night air and gathered at the exit. She looked to Seth, “Now remember you are to follow my directions upon returning to town, you are to tell everyone about your misdeeds, any and all of them. You will also remember all women are to be worshipped and treated like ladies, no matter if they are queens or whores, you will treat them like it is the highest honor to be in their presence.”

As they headed back to town, she walked with Dominic, speaking quietly about all that he had missed. That way by the time they arrived back at Beoulve Castle, he knew the whole story about Seth and what he had done, and why she was making him do what she was. There was no story really about Thalryn, as they had just really met him as well.

Thalryn

Thalryn was completely taken aback by how forward Kryss was. That in itself was out of character for a dark elf.

“M’lady, just because I don’t trust you does not mean I want you dead. I have simply noted your heritage, or at least half of it. A thousand pardons, but your kind has never proven themselves worthy of trust. You must excuse me, but my instincts tell me to watch you.”

He didn’t even know if Kryss was paying any attention to him. She seemed to be deep in spell casting. Suddenly, they all lifted off the ground and a fireball was evoked. Conversation was stopped until they cleared the temple.

Once outside, Thalryn took point with Seth. Skyler was wrapped up in telling Dominic all that had happened. Kryss and Jasleth seemed to be off in their own little world.

The least he could do was lead the way out.

Elistraee napped in the thrown back hood of his cloak as he made his way back to town.

Arriving back at the gates, the party was admitted without question. There was some good in the knight being with them after all.

Thal turned to the rest of the party. “Well, I assume we head back to the Golden Dragon. What do we do with the bastard knight?”

Skyler

She looked to Thalryn as they stopped just inside the gates. "Going back to the Inn would be a good thing, I am sure we could all use the rest. As for our Knight friend here he has other things to attend to." She looked to Seth, "Don't you Seth?"

"Yes Mistress." She smiled as he responded.

"Then I guess you had better get going, and remember it is not always wise to turn on those who offer you friendsship and trust. It has a way of coming around and biting you in the ass."

She turned back to the others as Seth walked away. "I already have one room and can afford others so no one has to share if they wish not to."

She led the way into the Inn.
