Seth's eyes widened as he saw what was going on below.

Fuck me! She's a vampire! His mind said. Crazy woman! His hand went to his sheath, but he stopped himself. Don't get irrational, Falcon. We don't want to lose this. Not now, not when we are so close to finding this elusive item.

He caught himself and ran a hand through his hair instead. "If you are quite full, m'lady, I suggest we get moving."

Skyler

She looked to Seth as he had started up the hill. She moved to Help Jas with Dominic.

"Yes I am quite ready. Let's get this over with." She had caught his movement with the sword. She pretended that she hadn't as they all began to move towards the temple.

She cringed inwardly as she thought of what she had had to do. She never liked losing control, and the thought that she had and could have hurt her friends, tore her up.

She moved with the rest her mood had become eerily silent.

Seth

They made our way into the top of Racoon Hill. Seth moved over to the side of a large, ten-foot stone. One side was like a wall and Seth nodded.

"This is it. I am sure."

He knocked the rock with his swrd hilt and it sounded like metal. Seth moved back to a series of symbols carved on a nearby tree. He studied them, then replicated them on the dirt in front of the rock wall. When he finished, he gave a blow over the dirt. The rock wall began to shake and a door opened in the stone face.

He looked down the passage way. It was a long hall, lined with gold on all sides. Seth turned and gave the others a cocky smile. "I've been reading up on this Supersoft. It is guarded by many puzzles. I hope your minds are as furnished as your fighting skills."

Jasleth

Jas kept a careful eye ont he knight as they moved to the entrance. There was no doubt that Seth hadn't liked what he saw...he still might decide to kill Skyler once they got what they had come for. He would need to be carefully watched.

"Don't worry about that." Jas grinned insolently at the knight. "Even my hard head has a lot more than you think kicking around inside." "Just don't let your ego get in the way, too much." "From what I've heard, your high level isn't going to help at all against some of the stuff in here." He ran a hadn through his hair before lifting Dom to a shoulder again. "All right." "Let's make ourselves a legend."

Skyler

She followed close to the group, she was feeling better now. She watched as Seth opened the temple, it seemd more like a tomb to her, the way it was set up.

She was going to keep an eye on Seth, now that he knew her true nature, she knew she wasn't all that safe. He would probably take the chance to kill her sooner or later, player or not.

"So Seth, what more can you tell us of this Supersoft? That way we know what we're looking for and know when we've found it."

She felt she had spent too much time focusing on her assassin skills instead of learning more of the area. She thought Hmm what would Seth think if he knew that about me as well.

"What else shoud we know as we head inside?"

Seth

"The Supersoft? Trust me, m'lady, you'll know it when you see it." Seth said, taking a lantern out of his backpack. "The Supersoft is a curved flask full of blue liquid. It practically shines. And from what I heard, it's in a giant golden tresure box on a pedistal at the center of the temple."

He grabbed a match and lit the lantern, holding it over his head. "There will be no moon shine in here. Some ares are well lit...others will be pitch black. So watch your step."

He entered the hallway and motioned for the others to follow him. But he stopped again shortly. He lifted the lantern and pointed out that certain floor tiles had big red Xs. Cautiously, he stepped on one. It seemed firm enough to stand on and he let out his breath.

"Step on the tiles with X's." Seth said. "Or you're going to set off a world of pain. Behind each wall tile is a methane gas geyser and matches. Touch a different tile and it will raise the tiles, simutainiously lighting all the matches. And then we will be a bunch of well done bitches. So be careful and step light." He proceeded to move to another marked panel.

Skyler

"We should have light in front and behind. I have candles in my pack and will follow." She pulled a few candles from her pack, placing sevral in her cloak pockets. Then she lit the one candle, making sure it was in it holder and wouldn't fall out or spill wax.

As their eyes adjusted to the small amount of light she was able to see fairly well. She followed Seth's advice as she followed the others through this first obstacle.

Kryss~

All the flickering of the low flames were worse than being blind in this dark. Smirking alittle to myself.

"Why have such small flames that barely light passed your noses, and make sight far worse? Cause that is really giving me a headache."

Had to think for a moment, for I haven't had real time to play with them again. Held out both my hands, at first it was a small flame just enough to work with, then it grew. Became the size of basketball, lighting the way front and back as I walked in the center.

"Is this better?"

Wasn't sure how long I can truly hold the energy, from the way I was playing with them earlier, doubted it would much effort.

"Its better than wasting candles, or fluids for the lantern."

I had to wonder what this knights true reasoning for being here was, was he just using us? Something didn't seem right about being here, not right at all. The feeling was all wrong about this knight, not trusting as far as I can throw him. Not knowing his true intentions, after know about Sky, and the way he acted towards me. Granted there's three against one here... Well, you never know..

"In a chest?! On a pedistal?! At the center of the temple?!? That seems ......."

cutting my words off before I get us in trouble with him and have him not help us. Even if he using us, least we can do is get Dom back.

Skyler

"Thanks Kryss, that works well. But you don't want to waste your strength. You may need your magic later. I can see well in the candlelight, but I know the others need to see clearly to be safe as well.

She then blew out the candle she was carrying and continued to move on after the group. She hoped what Seth knew about the temple was correct.

She kept her voice low but clear enough he could understand her clear up front. "Sir Falcon, if I may ask, have you been here before? How is it you know so much about the temple and where the Supersoft is located adn have not retrieved it before now?"

Seth

They reached the end of the labeled tiles and Seth could only smile. "Well that wasn't so bad, now was it?" Thanks to Kryss's light spell, he could see Jas was having slight trouble hopping from tile to tile while carrying the stone figure; Seth merely ignored it.

"Well I've heard stories about this place. One of the game's designers made a character for the game and started to blab secrets. This was one of them before the others kicked him out. The Game designers were truly twisted when they put this dungeon together." Seth said. "But thankfully, they included one of these." He walked over to a torch on the wall and used his lantern to light it. There was a key note sound and a treasure box appeared on the right sode of the room. He opened it up and pulled out a dusty old parchment. "Taadaa. A map."

He unrolled it. "We are here. We got three more rooms to work our way through. Including a boss battle, so I suggest you keep your wits about you. The next room is going to require some teamwork and trust." Seth grinned smarmily. "But that shouldn't be a problem, should it?"

Skyler

"Well if we need trust to make it through this. I would hope it wouldn't be a problem, even though up until now there may be more reason to be tense and distrustful of each other."

She looked to Jasleth and Kryss, "These two I consider friends and trust with my life. And I feel the same for my friend Dominic, who we are her to save."

"Right now his life depends on us working together and in that we must trust each other to a certain extent. You have my word I will do what I have to to suceed in this and save Dominic's life."

Seth

Seth just smiled. A perfectly diplomatic response. This girl was good at hiding her feelings. He knew she was ready to snap him in half at any moment. But she held it in, and that made her perfect.

"Well, good then. As long as we are all sure about it." Seth said. "Let's get going then, hmmm?" They walked through the doorway at the end and down a small ramp to the next room. There was a giant pit in the center of the room that stretched from wall to wall. There was another piece of land on the other side of the chasm. On each side were multiple poles with pulleys on them and three ropes, tied to a center post, were woven through out them. The ends came out on their side.

"This room was engineered four four people, oddly enough." Seth said. "It was designed so that as long as one person held one rope taught, it would be sturdy enough to tightrope walk across. It doesn't matter where someone is in the room, as long as they hold a rope tightly. If one person lets go of their rope, however," Seth smirked almost maliciously, "Then the rope wires will all become unstable and whoever was going across will plummet a good 100 feet down. That is enough to ensure they aren't heard from again."

"That in mind," Seth continued, "Who would like to go first, hmm?"

Skyler

She listened as he went over the workings of this trap. "Well there is one problem. Right now there are five of us. We need to figure that out first then I'll go first."

She figured she wanted to get this over with and if she had to show she could trust in all of them to get it accomplished she would do just that.

Thalryn

The elf had reappeared back in the Golden Dragon inn soon after Skyler. Going to the innkeeper, he'd rented the room adjascent to hers.

During the day, Thalryn had gone out in search of Jasleth and travel supplies, while Elistraee, using her inate invisibility, secretly watched Skyler and Kryss.

When night fell, Thal was on the roof of the inn in deep reverie, with Elistraee curled in a ball on his lap. He came out of the trance at the sound of Jasleth's voice when he called Skyler. So she and Kryss must be Jas's companions.

Seeing Seth in the shadows with his inate elven infravision, he snarled in hatred.

Thalryn listened in again and was suprised to hear that they'd be going on a quest. The elf quickly dropped down into his room to collect his supplies and headed back toward the roof in time to see the dancer, the knight, the monk, the assassin and the statue head out toward the woods.

He stalked the group from fairly far back, and was taken by suprise when the monkeys waylaid the party. Thal had a consceince battle then and there on whether or not to step in when Skyler fell before the battle even started.

The battle ended with a spectacular fire rain spell. Suddenly, Jas was throwing a dead ape on Skyler, and she tore into it, feeding in a frantic state. Vampire. This was shaping into quite the group, considering his ideas about Kryss's ancestry.

All in all, though, they seemed to be a good fighting force. Even the damnable knight wasn't half bad. Jasleth was amusing to watch, what with all the feats of strength. No elf could pull off what he managed. But then, no elf would try.

Thalryn continued to track to the entrance to a temple of some sort. He hadn't caught the anytime it had been said.

After the party dissappeared inside, the elf again cast a spell of invisibility on himself, then followed into the temple. He followed the knight's directions, and soon found the party at the entrance to a room with ropes and pulleys. If he timed it right, he should be able to cross with someone. He'd go with Kryss to balance out the weight difference. They should be able to hold both their weight. If not, he had a feather fall spell to rely on.

"Very well." Seth said. "Let's hope those pretty legs of yours manage to keep your balance." He grabbed one of the ropes on the ground. Jas and Kryss each picked one up as well. "Okay, we pull on three, alright?" I yelled to them. "One, Two, THREE!" They all yanked on their ends and tightened the web of ropes across the pit. Seth smiled to Skyler. "Okay, m'lady! Whenever you're ready!"

Skyler

It was times like these she was thankful she was light and had honed her assassin skills. She knew her balance was one of her best skills.

She picked up her rope as well with the others... She was worried, she didn't fully trust Seth, but then again, if he wanted to find the item as well he wouldn't do anythin underhanded yet.

"Ok..." She looked on across the net of rope, picking the most direct path across the pit. She moved very lightly on the ropes across. Being an assassin had it's perks, balance was definitely one of them.

Once on the other side, she turned and looked back to the others. To see who was going to go next, she thought it was going to be hard for Jas to cross carrying Dominic, but he should be able to make it.

Thalryn

Seeing Seeing the rope go taunt, Thalryn activated his boots and lightly ran across before Skyler started to cross. Probably wasn't smartest to go over with the vampire, but the knight was less likely to drop the rope with Jas and Kryss still on his side.

Thal, I don't know if it was wise to follow them in here. Maybe we should have waited outside.

And let that bastard knight turn on them. No. Even if one is a Vampire and one part dark elf. The fact that the dark one didn't immediately lash out at the knight when he made his comments tells me that she is not like her kind for the most part.

Still, it seems folly to risk so much for those you hardly know.

Straee, you think too much.

The elf's ear perked at the sound of skittering coming from down the corridor. He left the room to scout ahead, and saw that the hall was filled with bones. A ghoul was munching on the leg bone of a skeleton.

Now what should he do? Fight, or let them wander into a hall of undead?

Damn morals. Thalryn silently drew his twin long swords from their sheaths. Hell, he had two more invisibility spells prepared, and Elistraee could always cast another.

Stalking behind the crunching ghoul, Thalryn brought Seldarine in high and Entropy in low, cross slashing the undead sraight up and down the spine, then switched direction and slashed both swords horizontal, severing the head from the neck, which fell to the floor and clattered among the bones. The goul struck out blindly for its unseen assailant, and found cold adamantine. The elf parried the thrash with the edge of his blade, severing the monsters arm from wrist to elbow straight up the middle.

The head howled in pain, and Thal kicked it in frustration at the unwanted noise. Seldarine flashed and the ghoul's other arm was gone at the shoulder. Entropy spun high in a circle, then dived down into the heart of the undead thing.

Pierced through the heart, the ghoul finally stopped thrashing, but the elf's keen perceptions heard noise coming from down the corridor.

I told you this was stupid, now you'll have all of them looking for you.

Chastise me later, Straee. I don't need this now, of all times.

Seth

"Good job." Seth said. "Good to see you do something else besides fainting." He let go of his rope and instructed Sklyer to pull the right most rope. She did and his rope moved to her side of the room and she caught it firmly.

"I'll go next." Seth said with a smile. He went over to the doorway and grabbed Dominic, who Jas had set down to pick up the rope. "I'll bring him across. As insurence." He saw the other's looks and waved them off. "Bah. I've trained for this. Pull the ropes!"

He got up on the webs and waited to catch his balance. Then he lifted the stone guy up and, with a yell, ran across the web of ropes, jumping from rope to rope. He could see the others were trying hard to keep the ropes taught with his erratic bouncing.

He eventually jumped to the other side and leaned Dominic up against the wall. The ropes took a while to stop vibrating. Seth turned and gave a cocky grin to Skyler. "Okay. Who's next?"

Skyler

She shook her head at his arrogance. She rolled her eyes slightly and then looked over to the others... She was glad Seth made it across with Dominic.

Now to see to it that the others made it safely as well.

Thalryn

The elf wiped his twin blades on some rotting cloth from a skeleton, then sheathed them. He then drug the newly re-dead goul over to the wall and tried to cover it with bones, but there was only somuch he could cover.

He opened his link with Elistraee wider, pulling in her inate abilities. He felt his mind merge with the ferret and the runes flare in his mind, and then he slowly reverted back to invisibility.

Moving silently, he re-entered the room just as Seth came across, carrying Dominic.

Without anywords, threw my rope to where Skyler stood, following their leads. I hated heights, least heights with nothing to break my fall. Looking straight at skyler, back towards Jas, slowly stepping onto the ropes once they had them secure. I wanted to so badly chant my levi spell, but this was a test of trust and that would just break the trust.

Still didn't trust Seth, nothing was going to make, even this little activity wasn't. I don't trust that easy.

Didn't take much for me to gain my balance, practically gliding along the various ropes, being a dancer had so many pros to it, mixed with the rogue, my balance was superb. It felt like something out there was falling us, never saw it, just a feeling. If there was, how far would it follow......how would it cross these ropes if it decided to come this far? Whatever it was, I knew it was there, though kept my silence about the feeling.

Finally made it across easily, glaring at the knight. Looking back towards Jas, waiting for him to cross.

Seth

"Ah, the two beauties have arrived. We don't need the third guy, do we?" He asked. They glared at him and Seth let out a laugh. "Fine, fine. Let's go Monk-boy." Skyler, Kryss and him all held the ropes out tight. Jas got up and crossed the rope web. Seth had a malicious grin the entire time, but he kept the rope sturdy enough to allow for Jas's crossing.

When they had all reached the otherside, Seth motioned to the others to follow him to the next room. The long hallway was covered in bones and a dead body as well. Seth paused for a second. "Funny...it's already dead." He said slowly. But he didn't pay it anymore notice and continued to the next room.

"That ghoul there was supposed to be guarding this room, but it appears someone got the jump on him before he could become powerful." Seth shrugged. "All the better for us, we can go right into the Supersoft room now. If we hurry, we may avoid being attacked by the other ghouls as well."

As they entered the next room over, they saw it was a very large room indeed. It was almost entirely a giant pit except for a giant pillar in the center and a winding walkway connecting the doorway to the pillar. On top of the pillar was a golden treasure chest.

"The Supersoft." Seth smiled. He motioned to two buttons on the floor. He stepped on one and put Dominic on the other. With the buttons depressed, Seth nodded to them. "This will deactivate the security measures. You three are the most agile, you can go get the Supersoft and bring it back here."

"And watch out for the giant bats, alright?"

Skyler

She didn't like the look of this not one bit. If there were giant bats they would attack as soon as the chest was opened, and make the trip back down that walkway impossible.

"How big is this Supersoft container?" She had an idea but it would only work if the item wasn't all that big..

Seth

Seth looked at her suspiciously. What was she up to?

He shrugged. "Flask size, I would gather." He said. "Maybe a foot long and a few inches in diameter. Does it make a difference?"

Skyler

"Yes it does as it will be easier if only one of us goes across." She looked to Jas, as she took her pack and emptied it. Leaving the things in it on the floor.

"I just need you all to watch for the bats for me." She started up the path, moving very quietly and headed for the chest on the platform. Of course she checked the thing itself for any small type traps, before opening it.

She looked back briefly to the others as she moved to open the chest, *squeeeaaak*. Soon folowing the noise there was a sound of flapping wings and squeals.

She moved quickly, reaching in for the flask that contained the supersoft and slipped it into her pack, making sure it was secured so as not to have come all this way and then break, setting the pack on the floor at her feet after securing it closed.

She concentrated and quickly shifted to her ferret form. She was glad the flask hadn't been heavy, she grabbed the pack strap in her teeth and headed quickly back down the path.
