When RP takes control IC thread

Thalryn

Thal, I found Kryss.

You know, Straee, your ever-present mastery of the obvious is NOT NEEDED.

The elf pulled his gold pouch from his belt and tossed it to the innkeep. There was mostly platinum in there. If that didn't cover it, he might spend an hour in the kitchen.

He slammed his twin blades in their respective sheaths, and watched helplessly as they escorted Dom and Jas away.

Then he turned to Skyler. "I'm going with you." He pulled up his hood and started out the door.

Elistraee, stay put in my room until we return.

Kryss ~

"Ummm I'll be along shortly, something was a miss and I need to clean up. I won't take long."

With that I rushed up the stairs, taking a quick shower. The quickest I have ever takened. Putting on some baggy pants and light shirt. Throwing my hooded cloak on as I ran down the stairs. Feeling much better now that I am cleaned. Somewhat relived that some other mishap came about. Least enough to where they wouldn't question about what happened to me.

Quickly caught up to Skyler and the Elf. Thal.

"What's happening? why are they being arrested?"

Thalryn

The elf turned to the new arrival, suprised at himself for feeling glad that she had caught up.

"Allegedly, Jas and Dominic killed Seth. And here I figured if anyone was gonna do it it would have been me or her." He nodded to Skyler.

"Funny thing is, they didn't do it, as much as they'd have liked to. We were all in the tavern at the Golden Dragon."

Kryss ~

"Seth dead? When did this happen? It wasn't that long since we lefted him on his way..... Even then.. why Jas and Dom? There has to be at least a thousand or more people that wanted him dead... Me included.... So why just those two.."

Caught myself rambling, Quickly shutting up when I realized I was talking to the one I didn't trust still.

"Sorry I didn't mean to ramble like that, Just something happened and it doesn't make sense. Now this. It just....."

Cutting my sentence short again, not wanting to admitt that I was scared. It was bad enough I spoke of something else happening. Let alone to a stranger that I highly didn't trust enough to speak of such things.

Kept silent till we arrived where they were holding Jas and Dom. I so needed Jas right now, to have him hold me, anything.

Skyler

She watched as the guards dragged Dominic and Jasleth from the Inn and towards the jail. She looked to Kryss and Thalryn, “Something just isn’t right.”

She turned to head out of the Inn after them, she would do what she could tonight to find out what had happened. “Thalryn, you know as well as I do that they have not left our side since our return to town. The guards are not going to believe us as we are their friends. If you can, roam around the area a bit and see what info you may be able to pick up.”

She looked to him then, “I know we don’t know each other all that well, but please you know from this short time that they are innocent, we can’t let anything happen to them.”

She then looked to Kryss, “Let’s go and see if they’ll let us at least check on them, I can’t believe they shot Dominic like that. I want to make sure he’s ok before I go out hunting info as well.” With that she moved with Thalryn and Kryss after the guards.

Dominic

They flung me rather roughly into the jail cell, and after they bandaged my leg up and everything. Jas didn't get hurled quite as badly, but probably because they wanted the dangerous monk off their hands.

The head guard closed the jail doors behind us. "There. Your trial is going to be tomorrow. Try and rest up. Especially if you want to try and prove yourselves innocent."

"Do we get visitors?" I asked, rubbing my leg.

"I don't know what sad saps would want to see you, but I don't see why not." He turned and left the cell, heading abck to the stairs for the dungeon.

I sighed and turned to Jas. "This is a misunderstanding. They'll realize it soon enough."

And I'm the virgin Mary. Slip commented.

Slip! Where are you?

Where you left me, you fruit! Back in the damned resteraunt. I'm licking crumbs from the floor.

I'm in jail, Slip! Come help me!

Yeah, yeah. I'm gonna be able to sneak into the castle. Right. I think I'll stick with waiting for Skyler or Kryss to come up with a plan.

I sighed. Stupid worthless lizard.

Skyler

As they stepped out of the inn, she stopped realizing the guards didn't take Dominic's pack. "Hang on guys." She stepped back into the Inn and looked under the table, the pack was empty. Damn where was Slip

"Slip where are you? We need to go see about getting Dominic out. Come with us and I'll see you get what ever meal you want."
She hoped the lizard would come out of hiding and let her take him with her to go to Dominic.

Jasleth

It had taken all of his self-control not to snap the guards heads off...but The little resistance they had put up and been met with force that had left Dominic limping. "Here Dom...Let me use The Chakra on that." "It'll stop the bleeding and clean it if nothing else." His hands flew, adjusting the Oracle's chi flow. It tool little time, Dominic's magical nature and psychic abilities meant he was more in tune with his chi, making it much easier to move. "There we go..." the wound had closed up already, and a n angry scab covered the injury. "I don't have Kryss's powers but it'll have to do."

He stood and walked over to the window. "Not sure what's going on here...but I am sure that we're already guilty." "I don't think that if we get a trial it'll be fair...they're already calling us convicts, after all." His eyes were grim when he turned back, "someone set this up, Dom." "I can feel it." The walls looked strong...too strong even for his Iron Fist to break through. "We need to think of something ourselves...justice won't be served here unless we do it." He sighed. "We might not be able to though...breaking out of a castle, Beoulve Castle nonetheless, ain't going to be a cakewalk."

He looked out of the barred window, his mind considering and rejecting various plans. What now?" Jas felt a bit heartsick, the cell window afforded an excellent view of the execution scaffold. Feeling a sudden itching sensation around his neck, he sighed. He wasn't feeling the invincible courage that Jasleth was supposed to...he was feeling a lot more like Kyle. "I wish Kryss was here..." He whispered it to himself, watching as the darkening sky began to rain softly.

Thalryn

The elf was just as suprised at himself for welcoming Kryss as he was that she seemed to welcome him.

"I'll go see what I can find." He declared, starting off into the darkness. "I know I haven't known you long, but justice and honor demand intervention. Even if we have to go around the system."

Thalryn turned to the two women. The telltale red eyes of his inate infravision all that could be seen under the hood of his cloak.

"If for any reason you need me or can't find me, Elistraee is in my room back at the inn. She can contact me for you."

His eyes dissappeared as he set off down the street toward the barracks.

Time to see how much loyalty Seth had really commanded.

Skyler

She was thankful for Thalryn's help. She sure hoped he could find out something about what had happened. She was still t rying to locate Slip.

"Kryss, why don't you go ahead, let Dominic know I am coming as soon as I can get Slip to come out of hiding and cooperate."

Slip

Slip heard Skyler's words and he crawled out from under a table and moved up to her legs. He jumped on and climbed up her onto the shoulders.

I like roast beef. Smoked to perfection, of course.

Skyler

"I'll remember that once we get Dominic and Jas out of this mess."

She smiled glad he had finally come out of hiding, now she could see to rescuing Dominic and Jasleth and get the hell away from this castle.

She headed out and to where the guys were being held, to see if they could have visitors.

"Thanks for healing me, Jas. I do feel a bit better." I said, leaning against the wall. "And I guess you are right. We probably won't get a fair trial. What do you suppose is the penalty for killing a knight?" I asked. Then visions of a previous prophecy popped in my head. The one that had Jas and I with our heads in a guillotine. I shuddered. "I don't think we want to find out."

"Hey, you." The guard said through the bars. "You have a visitor." With that he stepped out of the way and the person came into view.

"Skyler?" I asked, standing up and wincing a bit. "I'm surprised they let you see us."

"It took some convincing. Thalryn is out trying to find out what happened. We'll get you out of here somehow." She looked worried. "I don't like this not one bit."

She shifted her weight a little, not used to wearing a lizard on her shoulders. "We have to get you two out of here safely and then get us all out of this game and see where things go from there."

Dominic

"Well, one step at a time." I said, lowering my voice so the guard didn't hear us. "Let's stick to the 'get us out of here' part for now. Do you have any ideas?"

The it hit me; I'm an orcale. I'll see the future. I hope it doesn't involve our deaths quite yet. I closed my eyes and concentrated on the guard. There was a flash of light and I saw him out back behind the guardhouse castle taking a leak. It quickly switched to Jas and I's cell. It appeared as if no one else was guarding us.

I opened my eyes with a frown. That didn't do too much for me. I had no idea when it was going to happen. I thought about where the moon placement was and realized it was already too late for it to happen tonight. It would have to be tomorrow.

I moved close to the bars and motioned to Skyler to come closer. The guard gave me a suspicious look, but I shook it off. I waited until our faces were up against the bars and then I kissed her as passionatly as I could. I let my arms go out and wrap around her neck. As our lips seperated, I whispered into her mouth. "About this time tomorrow, after the trial, the guard will go out back and leave us unguarded."

"Alright, enough of that." The guard pulled her away and pushed me back into the cell. "Kissing time is over. Time to go home lady."

Skyler

She moved closer to the bars, she was a little shocked when Dominic kissed her passionately. He put his hands on her neck and held her close as he pulled back and told her that tomorrow night there would be a time where they would be left unguarded.

Then too soon the guard broke it up and ushered her and Kryss out. As they headed back to the Inn she told Kryss what Dominic told her.

"We'll have to get Thal's help and get them out then. I can't do anything during the day.. Well maybe run around in ferret form and find out info but that's all."

Dominic

I sat down in the center of the room as Skyler left. I sighed and turned to Jas. "Well, get your game face ready, Jas. We've got a jury to try and wow tomorrow."

My thoughts traveled to the trial. I was never good at public speaking, but I may have to make an exception in a few hours.

Kryss ~

I wanted more than anything to hold Jas, to have him in my arms. Aching for his touch. Still, thing that had happened, could not bare to look into his eyes. Afraid he would see the truth behind them. The visit was to short for me to really talk, or even get close to him. Pretty much the second I made it to the bars, the guard was shoving me and Skyler outside.

Back at the Inn....

"No Skyler, you need your rest... I am not sure how much rest you will get.. But at least you can try... I am not tired. My little walk about turned into something a bit more stressful......"

Thinking about what had happened.

"But that does not concern, or even something to worry about at this time..........least I don't think it's not worth worrying about....Anyway.. I will put on a show tomorrow in the middle of town and listen for any rumors within the crowds."

I fell silent fairly quickly, wondering what that Elf, Thal was up to.. Back of my mind I still did not trust him. Right now that was the least of my concerns, tears forced their way out. The more I thought about tonights happenings, more I just wanted to cry harder. Folding my arms on the table, burying my face in them so no-one would see me cry.

Skyler

She could see Kryss was upset about something. It didn't take a genius to see that.

"Kryss, we both need to rest. Especially if we are going to find out anything tomorrow. Lets head up to the room and get some sleep or at least try to."

She headed up to the room with Kryss, the room had two beds so they would not have to make each other uncomfortable. "Kryss do me a favor.. I won't be able to be woke up in the morning.. Tell Dominic..we'll be there for him and Jas." She sighed as she moved to the bed.

She looked to Slip as he moved off her shoulder. "I hope he trusts us enough and that we can find a way to save them."

Kryss ~

"Trust me I won't be able to sleep, if I do it will not be peaceful."

There was a hint of fear in my words. I tried hard to fight the fear, it just wouldn't leave.

"I will do your favor for you sweety... Get some sleep.."

Once I saw that she was a sleep, or at least seemed to be. Snuck back down stairs into the tavern, odering food and some real hard drink called Dragons' Drool. Forced myself to eat for I haven't really eatened in two days. Sat there thinking of Jas, and what tomorrow will bring. Listening to hear if there was any talkers in the tavern about the Knight..

The Dragon's Drool bar was afire with sounds and converstaions.

"Man...didja hear about Sir Falcon? He was killed tonight!"

"No shit! How'd dat happen?"

"He was murdered by this passing duo. And get this; it was a monk and a seer!"

"You're kidding me! Aren't monks supposed to be good?"

"Yeah, I haf no idea wat dis world ees comin to."

"Well the trial is tomorrow. Sir Avrice will be prosecuting them. He's da one that found Seth.

"Who's defending the monk and oracle?"

"Who carz about dem? Day be da killas."

"I think they defend themselves. It should be interesting."

"Definitly. So, did you guys check out the new barmaid? Does she have a fine ass or what?"

Kryss ~

It was a dirty business being a dancing rogue. But someone had to do it. I cat like ease, walked towards the man that said the name of the one who found Seth dead.

"I'm sorry, I do not mean to inttrupt your conversation, but, may I ask of where I might be able to find this Sir Avrice? "

At first the guy was abit hesitant on telling me, mainly because he didn't know why a dark elf would want to see a man of his rank. He took a second look at me, probly guessing I was some entertainment for Sir Avrice.

After he finally told me where to find him, after making me swear that I would say who told me. Went back to my room to clean up better, making myself look the best I could. Almost as if I wasn't a cheap kind of entertainment. Sadly I was prepared to entertain if I truely had to, to get what I wanted out of this. But, Sir Avrice wouldn't live to tell about it.... If it came to that..

Had on silky black, silver trimmed tight vest. Hugging my breast securly, giving off a remarkable sight of cleavlage. Sowing off a lot of skin arms, waist, legs through the scarves as I walked. Scarf skirt low on my hips, a peice of under black material just high enough to make one wonder if I was wearing anything underneath or not. Scarves were black, sliver, red, and purple. All which glittered within the fires glaze. There was a hint of glittler covering my skin, standing out against the dark blue.

Braided a few scarves in the top of my hair, only to let the rest hang free. Draping my cloak around me, just so I can get to my destination with peace. Upon reaching the courtyard, which is where he was tonight, having a slight description of what he looked like. Once spotted, I didn't go near him, but I made sure I was in his sight. There were a few people around, enough to draw a crowd sooner or later.

Taking off my cloak, began to dance around the one fire that was in the middle of the courtyard. Making it look like I was just practicing. Wondering how hard it would be to get this Sir Avrice attention. Hoping he'll talk to a buddy or at least want me enough to *entertain* alone for the night.

Sir Avrice walked among the small crowd and undid his cape. He enjoyed watching dancers and relaxing a little. The one by the fire was especially intriguing.

"Um, sir?" A boy by his side said. "You really should get some rest. After everything that's happened, don't you think you should be resting?"

"I cannot get simple rest, squire." He said. "I need to unwind. I watch beautiful women dance."

"Well, after that attack on Sir Falcon," the squire asked timidly, "don't you think it's safer for knights like yourself to stay inside the castle?"

Avrice sighed. "If it will ease your mind, fine." He paused. "Go see if that dancer will come to the knights quarters. I would still enjoy watching some dancing. You can tell her I will pay her."

The squire nodded and walked over to Kryss slowly. He tapped her shoulder with a hint of doubt. "Uh....m'lady? Sir Avrice would like you to accompany him to the knight's quarters tonight. He would like for you to dance for him. He says he will pay you for your services, m'lady."

Kryss ~

This was perfect, I had caught his attention... Course silly me didn't think of how I would bring up the subject. Guess we'll have to see if there's away to slip into it.

I had stopped dancing long enough to talk with the squire, putting my cloak back on, leaving the front open so keep the knight interested at least. Following the squire till we came up to Sir Avrice;

"You wish to see me m'lord?"

Dark Elven accent ran through my words seductively as I followed. Never once looking up to his face, keeping my head lowered. I may be a rogue, but I had some manners with royalty. Even if I didn't like them.

Sir Avrice looked to her with a smile. "Thank you for coming with me m'lady." He stopped and gave a short bow. "I enjoy watching dancers, but with the current attack on knights, I've been advised to stay inside for the night. So for a chance to watch you dance for the evening, I will pay you a fair amount."

He turned and looked around as they entered the castle. "I assume you've heard the news of Lord Seth?"
