When RP takes control IC thread

Kryss~ ooc yea looks like I need to catch up alittle.

Just before I was getting ready to take off with JAs to help with fire wood. The bitchy archer started up again, only this time at the Oracle. Watching their little episode of childs play ~once again~ Then jas got involed.

"That's it. I'm going for a walk till you guys can take a fucking chill pill." This was really getting on my nerves, one minute we're all friends, the next they are fighting.

I was gone for sometime, was debating if anyone even had noticed that I left with all the bickering. I wasn't to far, but far enough to take my time getting back.

Watched as the archer and Jas played in the water, they walked passed me without knowing it and I heard the bitch call me hussy once again. I sighed and went deeper into the woods, not wanting to come back anytime soon. I slowly starting to get hurt by the way she was treating everyone and myself. But if I'm not there, then oh well.

Some orc like creature jumped out infront of me, only it wasn't an orc. It was bigger, meaner It looked straight at me. Didn't attack, but it didn't like me being there. When it started towards me, At first I let a scream that peirced the air, then it was quikly hushed when another one came from behind and grabbed me.. I bit hard on his hand and he yelled calling me names as I fell to the ground and started to run.

"Heh. Slip likes being any place that allows him to hide from everything that's too big to eat." I smiled.

Bite me, you silver haired fruit. Slip growled in reply. I ignored him. "But as for my power...I could try to see something. You never know what I'll get." Skyler told me about the cloak and I nodded. "I'll give it a go." I closed my eyes and focused on the crystal ball in my mind. Cloak...Sklyer...Cloak...Skyler...

And in my mind I saw Sklyer lying on the ground, with a large man standing over her holding the cloak. He had a very triumphant look on his face.

My vision ended quickly as a scream pierced the air. My eyes jolted open and I saw Skyler heard it too.

"Kryss." We both said in unison.

Who? Slip asked, but I didn't respond. I stood up, letting the cigarette drop to the ground carelessly. I took off toward the woods, Sklyer right next to me. As we got closer to the dense forest, I heard the loud movements and saw Kryss burst from the woods. I caught her in my arms as the orcs drew close to us.

"Not so fast!" I yelled to them, holding my hand out. "Hypno Wave!" The purple beam shot from my fingers and struck one of the Orcs. It screeched and slammed it's club into the other's stomach. I smiled smugly until I saw it run to us in blind fury, swinging his club in every direction. "Whoops. We may want to get running. Like NOW."

Skyler

He was going to try and see if anything came to him, Well this should be interesting. Before he could say anything though she heard the scream and followed Dominic. She watched as he sent the beam at one of the orcs, that had been chasing Kryss.

"Whoops. We may want to get running. Like NOW." She heard Dominic's voice as he turned and helped guide Kryss back to camp, she followed close behind.

"Well that kind of worked." She ran hard after him, knowing that with the others and the campfire these Orcs might not follow them that far. She also knew it depended on what they were after and how badly they wanted it.

Dominic

I had one arm around Kryss's waist, helping her along as we ran from the Orcs. The one I hadn't confused pushed the other Orc over and began to run toward us.

Smooth move, you loon. Any other bright ideas? Slip asked.

"Maybe I could throw something for them to eat. Do you think Orcs eat lizards?" I yelled, not really realizing I did it out loud.

"Sklyer, got any good vampire abilities? I don't think it's going to stop chasing us."

Skyler

Hearing Dominic's threat to the lizard..."Actually I think they do."

At his next words, she thought and turned on the Orcs, drawing her katana. She may not have fancy spells and such, but she could move faster than they could.

She may be able to use simple mind comtrol on them if they were of the smarter species, but for that she had to be close. As the lead Orc drew near her eyes seemed to flach in the darkness. It came to a halt barely five feet from her, she was sure it was because it couldn't believe she was just standing there waiting on it.

"Come on... ugly, a little closer. You know you want to." She smiled then and it hesitated. She took a step towards it and it backed away.

It shook it's ugly head as it stepped back. It knew what she was, it was one of the smarter ones. She smiled and knew it was hers if it would come close enough. The other was still reeling from Dominic's spell, so her dominate wouldn't affect it not yet.

Dominic

I turned around to see Skyler meeting the Orc in battle. Seeing this as an oppertunity, I set Kryss down on a rock. "Are you okay?" I asked. She nodded. "Good. You have healing spells, right? Keep Sklyer and me healed, okay?" With that, I rejoined Skyler's side. Her mere intimidation factor was driving the Orcs back.

"Well then...I guess it's Orc slaying time then." I said to her. "You want this one? I'll take the other."

Skyler

She was thankful that Dominic came back, she knew she might get one, but then with two of them, she wasn't sure how she'd hold out.

She nodded to Dominic. "Go ahead, I think your spell is still working on him."

Then she turned her focus back on the one she had backing away. She let her sword drop to her side, without letting it go.
The Orc seeing it as an opportunity, moved closer.

She focused her will and began to speak with it. "You don't wish to harm me...you want to help me." The Orc stopped in its tracks and nodded.

"You see the other like you, he is not your friend... He is trying to hurt me and my friends. You don't want that now do you?"

The orc nodded his head and turned on the other orc. She spoke quietly to Dominic, "Back away from the Orc, move over towards me. Slowly."

Jasleth

Jasleth leaped through the trees, trying to find the others. He had heard the noise...but must have gotten turned around in the wilderness. There!

He landed hard in front of the group, taking us a stance facing the oncoming Orcs. 'Sorry, I'm late." "Room for one more in this fracas?"

Skyler

She looked to Jasleth as he crashed through the brush. "Jasleth... back away... let them take care of each other."

She knew her control might not hold if the orc became too distracted, and the first thing it would go for would be her. She'd rather avoid that.

Dominic

I was confused by her idea, but it soon came to mke as I saw the Orc headed toward his buddy. I slowly slinked back to Skyler's side. The second Orc was recovering from my confusion spell and was shaking his head. He turned to look at his friend mere seconds before the first Orc swung his massive club. There was the sickening sound resembling that of a splitting melon as the Orc's head caved in, blood shooting out from the orifices. It crumpled to the ground, dead as a doornail.

The remaining Orc saw his buddy, the bloody club and Sklyer and out the puzzle pieces together. It let out a loud yell as it realized it had been had. It ran towards us in a fury. But I was prepared this time. I quickly reached into a side pocket on my backpack.

NO! Not me! Not your loyal iguana! Slip cried out.

Get a hold of yourself. I'm not throwing you. I said to teh panicing lizard.

Oh...right...I knew that. Slip said, recovering. I sighed and wrapped my hand around the hilt of a throwing dagger. I whipped it out and chucked it ahead. It flew through the air, making a whistling noise until it struck the Orc in the left eye. It dropped it's weapon and held it's bleeding socket, crying with pain.

Jasleth

"Charm effect...nice." Then when things went south, he charged in behind Dominic's throw. "I got him!"

Jasleth slammed a right fist into Orc's stomach, then a left uppercut that sent it staggering back. "Come on, ugly, fight a back a little!" "This is too easy!" A powerful roundhouse kick sent the Orc slamming into a massive tree trunk, the beast sliding to the ground unmoving.

"Damn that feels good!" "Everyone okay?" He looked out into the dark woods, "Are there any more out there?"

"I don't think so Jas." I said to him. "Besides, I think your over eagerness to beat something would have scared the rest away." I turned back to Kryss, who was still on the rock. I walked back over and sat by her.

"You still in one piece?" I asked her. "We don't want to lose anyone to this blasted game."

Kryss~

Watched over the others and kept a heal spell going, just a light one. Some what harsher and colder look in my eyes and voice. Not trying to be mean, just how I get when things have annoyed me for far to long.

"Yes I'm ok, just alittle startled is all........Thanx for coming and finding me. Much appreciated." Stood up and started walking back towards camp. My words were still kind and gentle as before. But my eyes let it be known how I was really feeling deep down inside.

Not even looking up at Jas at this point, walking right passed him and everyone else. I was thankful that they did help, least they know I still exsisted. Just kept walking, hearing them talk in confusion about my recent change. The cut on my leg from the spider was burning now.

When I sat down next to my camping spot, started to attend more to my leg. The cut seemed to be worse than I first realized. But still I kept quiet and tended to the wound, luckly it wasn't serious.

Jasleth

Back at the campfire, Jasleth watched Kryss sitting off by herself. She was moving differently. Her leg was injured...but there was a stiffness to her that hadn't been there before. None of the others seemed to have noticed it. Hoping he wasn't making a mistake, he softly padded across the campsite to stand behind her.

"Hey, Kryss." "I, uh, noticed you weren't moving as smooth." "Are you hurt?" "If you need it, I have a healing technique I can use..." His voice trailed off. She was injured, but that wasn't the only hurt she had. 'Course maybe he was reading into things.

"Look, I haven't been doing too well today, and I know it." 'I'm not the wisest guy around, but something's bugging you." "Whatever is happening to us, to The Game, has us all messed up a little, you know?" He ran a hand through his hair, uncomfortable with the silence.

"I may not be much, but if you want to talk, or just have someone listen...I'm here." "If I did something to cause you a problem, then I'm sorry." "I'm not too swift on the uptake sometimes, but let me know and I'll try my hardest not to do it again."

Feeling he wasn't making any headway, he just sat down, facing opposite her looking into the shadowy woods. Waiting and hoping that she would speak.

Kryss~

I just kept silence as he spoke, finishing the bandage on the leg. I didn't know what to say, never expressed how I felt, let alone have someone truly care. Course he could be putting on an act, but knowing this guy so far, he isn't.

"It's not the game.... well actually it is... but, not because it's messed up right now. That much I can live with." Hell even being stuck in it I can live with." voice trailed off alittle thinking.

My leg was still burning, 'damn I can feel this all to well.'

"Do you have a way to dectect poison? I don't think it is, but it's burning with extreme pain for some reason and it's honestly no that bad."

Rubbing my leg alittle over the bandages. Felt like crying to begin with and now the pain is not helping. I didn't cry, yet my eyes were going to betray me if I looked up.

"I just don't like alot of fighting among other players like that." One minute you are all friends the next your fighting like animals." It's amazing we got this far really. And to top it off that............" cut my words short on that last sentence, not wanting to go to deep in how that archer chick wasn't helping.

"Anyway doesn't matter now, looks we are all together whether we like it or not. Only question is, what are we going to do to stay together and stop these petty fights." My words were simple, and collective tone to them. Looked up and stared deep into the fire, tears were betraying me mostly from the burning pain that won't go away in my leg.

"Hope this pain does not interfere with my dancing, that would not be good." I just left things with that, however he took my words that was up to Jas. Being somewhat surprised the archer hasn't said anything. The twitt must be asleep or something.

Skyler

As they walked back to camp, she was thankful her dominate power had worked on the Orc, if he had been a lesser species and less intelligent it would have failed. Even though it was a natural vampire power it seemed to have drained her a little, she found a place near the fire and sat.

She was worried about Kryss; she had overheard her words to Jasleth. She knew more about the uses of poisons than the curing of their effects. She looked over to them, “ I might be able to tell if you’ve come in contact with poison. You say there is burning with the pain, I would say there is then. We need someone that can nullify the poison.”

She looked to Geo. “You wouldn’t happen to have a salve or something?”

Kryss ~ OOC ~ Sorry had to cut it short for a sec there.~

I saw the concern in Skyler, wasn't sure of what to make of it. But I wasn't going to let it go un-noticed. I'll be there if she needed me, at least all three of these guys.

"Yes it is burning, the cut isn't very deep at all, but the burn is what's making it hurt." Taking off the wrapping that I had done, so Skyler can take a look at it.

I had cure poison but not much use to this.

"Thanx for helping. " said softly

I stood back and sighed. Kryss was right, of course. All this fighting was no good. They had to stick together through this. God, he felt so foolish about fighting with Soliel earlier.

I walked over to the rest of the group. They were attempting to diagnose Kryss's wound. I knelt by her. "I'll see if I can see something about this."

What in the name of God could you possibly see about a cut? Slip asked.

That's what I'm gonna find out. I responded and closed my eyes, concentrating on the crystal sphere in my mind.

ERROR! ERROR! ERROR!

I tumbled back in surprise, landing on my back, which elicted a squeal from Slip. I panted wearily, seeing the memory of the red words flashing through my head. What...what was that?

Skyler

She walked over to Kryss and looked at the wound as she took the bandages off of it. She looked to Kryss and smiled softly, "It's not a problem. We're supposed to be a group and we're supposed to try to be friends and to me that means to help to the best of my ability."

She looked to the wound and by the look of it, she could tell it was affected by a poison inflicted by the spider, but before she could speak Dominic moved over as well. He moved in close and knelt beside Kryss. "I'll see if I can see something about this."

Dominic closed his eyes and began to concentrate, then fell backwards landing flat on his back. She moved to help him off the ground."Are you alright?" Then she looked back to Kryss, "As far as I can tell with my knowledge of poisons it seems to be affected by the spider venom. Now we need to find a way to cure it."

Jasleth

Jasleth shook his head as he looked from behind Kryss at the wound. "Hmm." "My Chakra technique can close the wound...even deal with the infection, but I can't cure poison."

He looked at Skyler. "I'm no expert in this...but if we get venom from the same kind of spider that bit her, can we make an antidote?"

Skyler

"I wouldn't be able to, and we can't cure or heal the wound until the poison is gone or it will just seal it in."

She hoped that Geo or one of the others had an idea.

Jasleth

"Damn." Jasleth began to pace the clearing, his eyes troubled. "I don't like this at all." He looked to the tent where the other two of their party were slumbering. Geo would have offered an antidote earlier if he had one, the guy seemed pretty good about that kind of thing. Soliel wouldn't be any help...she might actually make the situation a bit worse.

"Scary when I have to try and do the thinking," he smiled ruefully. "Way I see it, we got two options here." "One, we know that inthe cave is a powerful antidote for poison." "Dominic mentioned that it could be used to cure whatever Soliel got hit with." 'If it can cure that, it can cure this." "Getting it would mean trouble though." Jasleth rubbed the back of his neck with one hand. "We'd have to sneak in and try to sneak out...but more than likely have to fight a guardian or two and bring the whole spidery mess down on us."

"Option two ain't much better." "The town isn't too far away, one or two of us can try to make a run for it." "The woods between here and there are pretty dangerous at night...but if we move fast and quiet we have a better chance than of sneaking into the cave." "Either way, we should decide fast." "That poison's been in there too long already."

OOC - I'm taking an hiatus of about a week [ maybe more ] - so I have to cook up something to keep our violent little archer occupied.

IC

Well, that was just perfect. All the noise hadn't done a thing to faze her. Idly tossing in a small twig to the fire, she listened to the dry wood crack and pop. Sinbad turned a concerned eye to her, and cheeped softly, flitting up to her shoulder.

The reflection of the fire danced in her eyes as she sighed softly, sticking out her lower lip ever so slightly. Of course everyone would run to the GIRL'S aid. Feh. If she had been in the same posistion no one would have gone after her. True enough, it was her own fault, but still. Leaning back, she streched out her legs and sighed again. She missed the people that she used to play with - but real life had reared its ugly head and prohibited them now from playing. Really, she shouldn't be either, but damn, she needed a break. Besides, she had taken an offical hiatus from all movies for at least a year....But the photo shoot that she was now missing was apart of her own 'deal' to take the hiatus. There was going to be that one last thing, and god damn it all, now she couldn't even fufill that!

"....So...I'm gonna die. Well, it's not like I haven't had fun, mm?" She reached up to stroke the feathers on his head. "Well, maybe if I die, it'll snap me back into the real world. And then off to make movies I go. The beautiful Miss Angel Cross returns to her fans with her room-lighting smile and lovely even temper!" She rolled her large red eyes. "At least here I could be myself a bit. But so much for being accepted when one shows their true face. But...."

A hand went up to push at a few stray strands of hair. "But....we're all just humans, anyway, with the same stereotypes of personalities." She smiled. "Ah, listen to me! I sound like an old woman! Feh! I bet it's been ages since I last killed some bandits and took their crap, too....! With the old group, it seems like that's all we did.....Mmm. Does gold still have the same glitter it used to...? Of course! It ain't human, so it's gotta be pretty all the time!"

Nodding to bolster her own thoughts, she sighed.

As if remembering something, Sinbad began to flap his wings, lightly tugging on the now dry scrap of cloth that she used for a turban.

"What? What is it...?"

He squealed lightly, before settling back on her shoulder to 'whisper' in her ear. As she listened to his pratically muted vocals, those crimson eyes lit up, and a wide smile crossed her face.

"You don't say.....you saw bandits while you were scouting for me....? And they were talking about a spider's antidote.....? How utterly....well-placed for me!" She clapped her little hands together, and grinned. "What do you say we pay them a little visit....? It ain't like anyone here is gonna miss us."

The bird 'nodded' his approval, and took wing. Circling the area, he held his posistion to the South - complete opposite of which way this little party was heading.

"To the south, then!" Quickly grabbing a fish from the fire and devouring it in a swift mouthful, she re-wrapped her turban. Beginning to dash off where the falcon pointed....she stopped. Maybe some sort of note....just in case...HE was worried. Which she doubted. He had HER.

Spitting out a bone, she knelt and quickly wrote a message in the dust. Finishing, she read it aloud.

"Thanks for dinner, but you need another archer. Moved off to bigger -and undoubtly better- things.

And to the Oracle -

'No use permitting
Some prophet of doom -'prophet of doom' was underlined three times -
To wipe every smile away.
Come hear the music play.
Life is a Cabaret, old chum,
Come to the Cabaret!'"

A quick scribble of her face, and she was off into the darkness, the leaves lightly brushing against her face.

"Oh....and one more thing....." she said to no one in particular as she paused amid the trees - "SCREW YOU ALL!"

And with that, she was gone.

Skyler

She looked to Jasleth. "I agree, time is of the essence. I can get to town and back before sunrise. I should be able to find the antidote in a shop there." She realized everything would be closed, but she had her ways, and knew the others would know she wasn't going to get it by knocking on doors.

"I don't think going back into the cave is a very good idea. The only two that can go would be you and Dominic, well three if you can wake Geo."

She looked about, Soliel thought no one had caught her leaving in their attention to Kryss, but being a vampire had it's perks. She knew the girl would be in trouble if she didn't find an antidote as well. She silently wished her luck, she of course hadn't noticed the scribbled note in the dirt by the fire, but had heard the words before she had left.

"It seems one of our little party has grown tired of the company and has left." She looked for Jasleth, "Don't bother waking Soliel, she has gone."

"I feel the best thing to do will be for me to head back to town and get the antidote and return. Kryss, that would mean you need to not move around alot, rest, keep the poison from racing through your system."

She looked to Jasleth, then to Dominic. "Any other ideas before I go?"

Jasleth

Jasleth stayed quiet for a moment, at Skyler's mention of the archer he had turned and noticed the message scrawled in the dirt. He knew she disliked him...all of them really, but he still felt somehow let down. Betrayed. Well...maybe she'd find a party she could stand, though he had thought...nothing. Stupid emotion, that was all.

Shrugging off the bleak feeling, he turned to face Skyler. "Yeah...I do have a few." "First, do you want Dominic or me to come along in case you meet trouble onthe way?" "I don't know you were planning on getting there, maybe we'd just slow you down, but with The Game going crazy like this...I don't think anyone should be alone right now."

"The other thing...I had a kind of crazy idea." It was insane, but it had possabilities. 'Course when he wasn't Jasleth he toyed aroudn with writing fiction, so crazy ideas were his forte. "It all depends on vampiric abilities though, it's never anything I read up on." "I know you a drain blood, but can use, "he groped for the right term, "inject it?" "You know, put blood into someone instead of taking it out?" "I thought maybe if we could out some healthy blood into Kryss's system it would dilute the venom, slow things down." The three of them stared at him fro a moment as though horns were sprouting from his head. "It's kind of bizarre, but it just popped in there."

He shrugged again, "Well...those were just my ideas." "If you want someone to go with you, I'd suggest Dominic." "He might be able to see anythng lying in wait along the way." "Plus, I'd kind of like to keep a brawler here at camp with Kryss in case something happens." "I also think that Kryss's wound should be washed out at least, it'll help with the infection and pain anyway."

He actually wanted some time to speak to Kryss, try to address the concerns she had brought up, to make up for his own behavior. A group's warriors were supposed to keep the monsters away from the casters. If he hadn't been so distracted, she wouldn't have been hurt.

"Only other thing I can think of is if there are any forest herbs that will help with the pain or even slow the poison." "If you can give me a description, I'll try to find them." "Oh yeah." Digging into his sash, he pulled a fairly heavy purse. "Use my money for the antidote, and pick up a few extra." "If we go back in there tomorrow, we might need 'em."
