Why are the left-wing simpletons so angry?

You know I'm right.
Soviet communism didn’t have a plutocracy of private capitalists, but it did create a privileged elite class with monopolized power and resources, which functioned very much like a state-controlled version of a plutocracy. So, you're not really right.

Nevertheless, nothing ELSE but leftism ever threatens plutocracy. And the moderate social-democratic version has managed to increase equality without creating a new ruling class.

Social democracy is indeed interesting. I should know.. the concept originated in Denmark (and not Germany).

But, I am not sure that it is for everyone.
And quite frankly, I cannot see it work in the US. Sorry.

But Soc. Dem demands a lot from the people, it takes a lot of trust, a lot of willingness to compromise; we all know that we have to give up something for this to work.
- And it was not a political idea that got developed over night and introduced to us, it all just happened naturally.

Having to survive up in these harsh conditions, on a land that really is quite small, and we do not have any natural resources worth mentioning.
We do have a lot of beaches, meaning, transportation was not always easy.. a land made of islands? Yeah.. not the smartest place to establish a kingdom. 🤷🏼‍♀️😆

Therefore it became natural for us to work together, and that gave birth to this movement: Andelsbevægelsen

So everything up here had to evolve, we had to work together, we had to make this land work.
And that meant: hey, let us build a lot of bridges!! Or.. windmills..

On top of that: The Danish model, that is something uniquely danish (hence the name), and no... It is not about the pretty people living here.

All in all... Our little society is pretty weird, extremely pragmatic and focused on efficiency, we kinda want to be free... But within the framework.
Oh, and we are stupidly capitalistic. 😂

But also.. social democracy works for us, because of our mentality. It was not imported, but is a natural way of living for us.

So you should not expect it to work in the same way for you.. I do not even know whether it would work or not!

Tolerance, respect and understanding of other people from different backgrounds are not "Mental issues."

Rather, it is lack thereof, which is a clear sign of mental problems; you seem to be implying that hate, bigotry, and intolerance is the only healthy mindset there is.

YOU are the one with mental issues, dude. I don't know why you are like this. Were you raised in the rural deep South? Did your girlfriend cheat on you with a black man? Or do you so lack any experience with people from other races and cultures that you are pre-disposed to hate on them, especially when people like Charlie Kirk feed on that hate and fear?

But I can only hope you grow up and grow out of it.
we can't tolerate woke, the only cure for them is death

^You make a blatantly racist, hateful and violent statement. "We can't tolerate woke; The only cure for them (i.e. the anti-racists) is death."

That is not only "stupidity," it is hate speech- plain and simple- and threatening and violent hate speech at that.

When you sighed up for this website, you agreed to the terms of service. With that kind of post, you violated those terms of service, and by all rights, your rights to post on this forum should be forfeited as of now. I am not an admin, or I would have taken that step long ago.

The problem is you are the only ones twisting it out of reality like that. It is not real.

I've also seen arguments that social democracy would not work here because we lack your . . . ethnic homogeneity.

"Woke" means nothing at all but being aware of social injustice. It's better to be oblivious?
In his warped mind, it means it's better to be a blatant racist/bigot. Because anti-bigotry and tolerance is bad, or something.
Which shows how warped and fucked up these people truely are.

I've also seen arguments that social democracy would not work here because we lack your . . . ethnic homogeneity.

That is a strange argument, how should ethnic homogeneity be able to influence economy and politics.

Only people can do that, and your president, who is a child of a German and a Scott, is quite splendidly ruining the economy of the whole world.

Social democracy will not work, if you exclude certain groups (well it will, but for for the sake of simplicity and because I do not think it is interesting to write a whole novel, then I am going with the light version.). Social democracy will not work if you do not trust that everyone is doing their best.

The most important thing in social democracy is the people's acceptance; that we all need to give up something for everyone to have minimum standard of living.

You need to understand and accept that it is a good thing for you, that you pay a little more in taxes, so that education (among other things) can be free for all.
Even when you do not need it! Even if it is your neighbours who benefits from that. Because those kids are going to become the teachers, doctors, engineers of the future, paying their share of taxes to make the land prosperous and for you to have food on your table, free healthcare in your old age and a pension you can survive on.

But if people keep thinking: why should I pay for something I do not use? Taxes are stupid. Some people do not want to work.. They are just cheating the system.

- then your dream of social democracy will fail before it begins.

(Again, this is the light version!! There are so many, many nuances, but for the sake of understanding the whole concept, then this is enough.)

And these words may be one of the reasons why the whole world ended up in this mess.

Why are you all being dismissive of the people who dislike the concept "woke"?

I find woke as restraining, negative and full of hate as I do: bigotry, religion, racism and so on.

Woke is just another way of saying that you are better than someone else.

As my kids said: I do not care whether you identify as a man, woman, helicopter or something all together different.
Just do your work, and do not create problems where there are none!
It does not matter who you like to kiss or not to kiss.. that is private and not something you need to share with the public (of course you kiss in public, but do not make speeches about it!).

When the woke movement came to Denmark, lead by foreign students at the universities.
Then they did have some quite valid points! But.. Then they took it too far.
And suddenly it was not about equal opportunities and rights. But it became a religion, a way to say that they were better than the rest.
And a way to say: I do not need to listen to your reasons and concerns, because you are evil and against wokeness.

Personally I abhor that way of thinking, as it is just as fundamental as racism, bigotry and so on.

Wokeness started with some good ideas, but it turned into something exclusive, extreme and "holier than thou".

Which is pretty much a no go in social democracy.. we do like to be equal.
Everyone - even those we disagree with.

Let me spin this question… “why are you so scared of kind, tolerant people?” 🤷‍♂️

"Kind and tolerant" - but not naive.
Also, it is not easy to adapt to our lifestyle. (We have a huge amount of expats in my city)

Because this trust, acceptance and tolerance comes with quite a few demands and requirements.

Some that may be difficult to understand the importance of.

The Law of Jante.
Once there was an author who wrote a book, in that fictional book he described a city that followed the Law of Jante (Janteloven).

Some people see this as a truly negative thing.. but if you look closer and think about it, then it is the opposite.

"You are not better than us" = we are all worth the same.

This explains lot about our mentality:
No one is "the best"; I am not better than you and you are not better than me.

Again, this is only scratching the surface, I could complicate it all and explain about every nuance, but that would be counter productive, instead this is enough as it tells about a truly important facet of the culture I come from.

And why I know some may think, that I have a "holier than thou" attitude. 😉

Okay, so I will concur that sometimes people do, in fact, take the idea of, I'll call it "political correctness" (which was the 80s/90's term for "Woke") a bit too far. And do themselves, and the whole concept of tolerance and respect, a disservice in that regard.

Examples: Freshmen, firemen, electric linemen, had to be called "FreshPERSONS, FirePERSONS, or electrical LinePERSONS (or fire crew members, electical line workers, etc.) The word "Women" had to be spelled "WOMYN" since then were not wo-MEN" or something. Signs on restrooms had to be changed because the symbol of feminine woman in a dress was sexist. Schools or streets named "Washington" or "Jefferson" had to be changed because George Washington and Thomas Jefferson owned slaves. I was called a "White Male Oppressor" even though I never oppressed anyone. I got blamed for slavery even though neither myself, nor my ancestors (immigrants- that's right, immigrants- from Italy, Denmark and Ireland,) never actually owned slaves.

This kind of thing. Political correctness, or "Woke" taken to ridiculous and illogical extremes. In cases like this, I get where some of the back-lash comes from.

But the whole basic idea- be kind, be respectful, be tolerant and fair towards those of different ethnic and gender backgrounds, that is an overwhelmingly positive message that I believe we should all strive for, and should most certainly not be condemned.

Well put!
And thank you.

I agree with you, one of my most memorable moments with "the very political correct wokeness" was at the university, were a professor was taking questions from the auditorium, and had the audacity to assume that the student who asked the question was a woman (they sounded like a woman, looked like woman.. and this was a huge auditorium for crying out loud, this was an opportunity to ask questions, it was never about the students!).
- obviously.. the student was not satisfied, and got extremely offended.. the student identified as "they".

Suffice to say, no one got to ask anymore questions that day. The student made a huge real out of it. (And everyone else lost the opportunity to ask their important questions.)

That should have been the end of it you think, right?

No. The student made an official complaint to the university.

That is not a common thing over here! We call our professors by their first name, we chat freely, of course there is a theoretical hierarchy.. But in reality we are so equal that you would not know who were the professors and who cleaned the canteen.
We treat everyone with respect.

Sadly, this was not a single case.. and one year we were even asked to fill out a paper: how we would like to be called in emails and in class.

Seriously?!

(This was in the '00's)

Wokeness to me stands for navel lint picking egoists, who think the world should care more about their personal needs, than what is the best for the whole group.

When what is the most normal thing here is (or was, there are still bits of wokeness left in some subcultures) :
Equality, common decency, respect and understanding that even though we are all individuals, we still want the same: a good life with freedom and acceptance.

Wokeness though, there are simply too many negative connotations there.

The student from my most memorable meeting with wokeness? They were American.

The reason why the "politically correct" or more recently, "woke" movements ended up dying out was that they started out with good intentions by leftists of improving material conditions for groups of people subjected to systemic discrimination, but liberals ended up co-opting the movements and changing the focus onto policing personal behavior. Systemic changes are largely popular with the people (issues like eliminating qualified immunity, for example, enjoy large amounts of support), but they require the systemic changes that the liberal establishment seeks to avoid. So to quell desire for real change, the liberal establishment tells people to focus on things where there is no call for legislative action, like catcalling or costumes. While such actions are distasteful, focusing on them does nothing to improve the material conditions for the groups the liberal establishment is claiming to care about. That policing of personal action is also extremely unpopular and causes resentment that complete strangers are telling people what to do. People eventually turn against the movement (and even sell bigotry as rebellion against the establishment) and the movement fails.

to me in my opinion all of this becoming more common on earth 1 aka earth prime really all started in 2020 during the covid pandemic after george floyd got killed by the cops

althought this all of it kinda started in 2016 when the trump right wingers and the right wing media biggest arch enemy collin kapernick bent the knee at nfl games and he changed the dynamics of the nfl and in a way the entire sports universe

This radical egalitarianism from a culture that has always had a monarchy and titled nobility. Why can't the American republic measure up to THAT standard?!
