Why didn't someone tell me?

The act of sex is the basis for every plot there is.

Sex is plot. Every seduction is a complete story: setting, character, conflict, development, climax, resolution, end. What else you want?

I don't think I have looked at it quite that way before. Lots of people seem to feel that stories have little value without death, genealogy of Biblical proportions, or a breathable atmosphere on Mars. I feel better about my stroke now. :D Thank you, doc.

Oh yeah: proof that Jesus slept with Mary Magdalene.

Reallly huh...

I doubt 'Surviving Cancer' has the act of sex as it's basis...

But please... feel free as to explain.

Sincerely,

Elves...

Elves will make basic plot weaknesses okay... or is it magic?

*hmmm*

Actually, I think it's 'a geeky guy that becomes a god-like figure through magic' is the key.

If I left out the plot my stories might actually be short enough to read.

I find it easier to leave out the sex and let the reader's imagination fill the gap...

You're just getting distracted by your characters' humanity. It's not such a bad thing, really. If they're human, you may well be writing something with, whisper it now, meaning!

Be careful with that stuff, it'll make you a writer before you even know what hit you.

(gasp!) you mean.... everyone doesn't just lay eyes on someone, that person reciprocates (ornot!) and they end up in a closet, screwing each other's brains out?? bite your tongue!

It could, though! Just imagine....

What if.....

Semen was shown to have cancer-inhibiting qualities and the researchers find that having sex (oral, anal, traditional, whatever...) shrinks tumors? You just have to get creative!

For me, writing something without plot is difficult. If I can't get into my characters or storyline, the sex just doesn't flow for me.

I'm the same way. If I don't have a plot, I can't write anything. I'm not a fan of the ultra short we met, we fucked type stories.

The Condom of Turin might be the answer.

Remember Father Guido Sarducci? On a visit to the Holy Land, he bought a scroll reputed to be the bill for the last brunch.

"Twelve Eggs Benedict, one soft-boiled egg, and they split the check thirteen ways."

That's how he knew it was authentic.

Hello. Is the City That Never Sleeps getting that bleary-eyed look that says "too many uppers, not enough downers?"

I'm kinda strange....I can do plots if I'm writing non-erotic stories but otherwise.....

I assumed that was referring to erotica. Literotica.

But I can see how someone could argue that sex is the basis for most human interaction, just as it's behind the most spectacular rituals and violent territorial disputes in nature. We don't exist to eat, but we can't exist without eating. We crave sex even though we could exist, individually, without it.

Sex is how the species survives. Sometimes it's why we survive an illness or personal setback that might otherwise destroy the will to go on.

What other urge consumes our thoughts and influences our plans to the same degree? Sex, the lack of sex, disatisfaction with sex, denying or embracing our sexuality, winning a mate, leaving one, fighting to keep one, attempting to be celibate, attempting not to be celibate...Even the story of the Annunciation has a salacious little cloud hanging over it: "I will? Okay. But how?"

Don't try to tell me I'm the only one who ever wonde...Nevermind.

I think you've all misunderstood the thread topic. I'm writing a story about getting hard, and I wanted to hear the male perspective.

It sounds like you need to put your ear closer to the dick.
