Why Do Liberals Defend Islam?

Yes, they are.

You dodged the fucking question. How many apostates are killed in the name of Judaism? How many apostates are killed by Christianity?

When I left the church, I didn't leave the law. If a Muslim leaves their church, they are leaving the law. They are violating a law which is in place NOW and not in the past.

You know what is happening now? Catholics are fucking little boys. That's happening NOW. You don't see me going around saying, "Oh Muslims are fucking little boys," do you? No, that's because Muslim men fuck little girls, not little boys.

Idiot.

They fuck either one, but only for the glory of Allah. http://nakedmuhammad.********.com/2010/04/muslim-man-on-muslim-boy-love.html

Muslim communities in Great Britain and parts of the US have Sharia Courts.
So what?
Lots of companies force people to accept binding arbitration, why should members of a community not be allowed to agree to arbitration in disputes?
Christians use religious courts, why shouldn't Muslims be allowed to?

I view that as a breakdown of the Church-State Barrier in a way.
Then you obviously are clueless what a "Sharia Court" is.

Do we use religious courts? Because the last time I checked the Bible, it said women's testimony was worth half of a man's. It also allows for child molestation, rape, and slavery.

You obviously are clueless about "Christian courts," which is something you just made up.

They have all been told for so long that it's the greatest fucking thing to ever happen to humanity just short of Marxism they actually buy their own bullshit.

They want to make America Iraq.

I feel your pain, liberals.

Just last week, another Christian court ordered a couple to stay married, the Christian Heavenly Forces raided a gay bar and executed 48 queers. The Jewish Mafia raided a mosque and killed the men, then raped the women and children before taking the cutest of them as slaves. Even the Buddhist Shadow Force poisoned the drinking water supply of the fracking operation with LSD.

We should never think of doing something racist like saying the muslim religion is rife with violence. Hey haven't hurt a fly in centuries.

A little education might do you well.

Across the United States, religious courts operate on a routine, everyday basis. The Roman Catholic Church alone has nearly 200 diocesan tribunals that handle a variety of cases, including an estimated 15,000 to 20,000 marriage annulments each year.1 In addition, many Orthodox Jews use rabbinical courts to obtain religious divorces, resolve business conflicts and settle other disputes with fellow Jews. Similarly, many Muslims appeal to Islamic clerics to resolve marital disputes and other disagreements with fellow Muslims.

It'd be really, really nice if we could find some middle ground between "ISIS has nothing to do with Islam" (proving some ideas are so silly you have to be a bien-pensant intellectual to believe them) and advocating a clash of civilizations Kulturkampf with a religion that has 1.3 billion people scattered over vastly different cultures, sects, and socioeconomic strata.

It would be nice indeed but its nigh impossible. The West and the Middle East have been opposed to each other since the Greeks fought the Persians, the Romans fought the Persians, the Franks fought the Arabs, the Spanish fought the Moors, and Austria-Hungary the Ottomans.

No, Islam does not equal the Middle East and vice versa, but you dont hear Americans/Europeans complaining about Muslims in Indonesia or the Philipines even though there are issues there. Likewise the Filipino insurgents havent attacked American al-Qaeda or Isis-inspired style despite a military presence in their country. This highlights the geographic/cultural nature of a historical rivalry.

I don't understand. They stand against everything liberals stand for. Anti-gay, Anti-woman, Pro-life, etc. A substatial part of the religion has become radicalized and committed the greatest atrocities in history. I really don't hear the same criticism of Islam as I do of Christianity, and I wonder how liberals rationalize this. I was also wondering abou a hypothetical issue. I know that Muslims are required to pray multiple times during the day. I think it is part of their faith and culture. As Muslim communities grow, what if they ask for prayer time accommodations at school. That would seem to be a reasonable request, but we have had a policy against school prayer. Would liberals say that denying Muslims the right to pray represents religious and cultural discrimination?

The only reason I defend the Muslims is because I think everyone has a right to choose whatever religion they want to be a part of - that's just natural. Muslims probably look at the good ol' American Christian as a Goddamned poltergeist.

But I don't agree with what Muslims do or what they think. I think their religion is whacky. And I don't believe that Muslims should be given time to pray in schools - no one else has time set aside to pray in schools or work, why should they be given special privilege? They shouldn't.

Christians have Sundays set aside from schools so that they can pray. Saturdays are likewise non-school days to accommodate Jews.

The difference between Christianity and Islam, Christianity has gone through several reformations, over many centuries, in a more liberal direction. A recent example, the Pope came out and pretty much said that judgement of LGBT and abortion should be left to the infallible God, not flawed humans.

Islam is going backwards. Reformist thought within Islam used to be tolerated, but more recently, in the past 3-4 decades, some reformist were sentenced to death under sharia law. The sunnis and shias are currently at war with each other, when they used to be at peace with each other.

The problem is that Islamic scripture is extremely political.
Christianity: Give to Caesar what is Caesar's, and to God what is God's.

To the OP.
Why Do Liberals Defend Islam?
Because they are minorities in Western society. Minorities are the Liberals stock-in-trade, it's their only constant.

There is one exception, though, and that's men. There are more women in the US than men, which makes men a minority.

SO everybody should take Friday off too? Sounds good to me?
:)

If a person's religion requires them to pray certain days and/or certain hours, I don't have a problem with that happening in school.
But that means a room set aside for it and the prayer not being run by the school/state.

Why a room? They can just do what everyone else does.

No, there are too many school-aged Christians who would kick them.

I realize this is anecdotal, but when I went to school in rural Oklahoma everyone had decided I was gay and also somehow Jewish. Never experienced any bullying about it.

So...you didn't care to correct their decision, if they were in the wrong?

Or were/are you gay and Jewish?

You should seek therapy for those violent tendencies.

I do. Down at the range or sparring at Tae Kwon Do and Hapkido or working with the punch bags. That's how I met my partner. Kicking the dust off him at Tae Kwon Do - a match made in heaven. Sigh ....:rose::rose:. Now the sparring .... when I first started working my co-workers would ask suspiciously about the bruises but they're used to it now....

I attempted to correct them on the Jewish thing, but it didnt take. It was the weirdest thing, I was gone one day in the 8th grade to go to the dentist and somebody said that it was a Jewish holiday so they connected me being gone with the holiday and just decided not to believe me. Even stranger than that is when I went off to college one day I was sitting outside a counselor's office, and there was this guy and girl there as well. The guy was telling the girl about his experiences as a Jewish person in the Bible Belt. Then he turned to me and said "But you know how that feels." I replied that I wasnt Jewish and he got a shocked look and said "Oh! Sorry.

Never cared about them thinking of me as gay, I never dated anyone from my hometown or wanted to. Legititmate feara of discovering they were a cousin.

Same thing for me when I started doing BJJ, bruises all over.

So you do things that give you more violent tendencies?
