Why nice guys are never seen

I don't think its the same for men, it's just one of those areas that men and women differ. If we were the same I think we'd have much less heartbreak. Men thrive on something altogether different.

Oh yes oofcourse women are emotional wrecks who believe a man could treat them poorly but need to know that they have made them be good to them

Women thrive on the constant possibility of heartbreak. Do you assume all women to be that weak? As that's how your opinion comes over to me. That you see women as inferior that they need to make a guy be 'good' to them. Nobody should have to make anyone be good to them. I think if anyone feels like that then there's something lacking within themselves!

That is where I think women are strong, not weak. They know a heartbreak could be just ahead of them and instead of hiding under their covers they go out and take the risk. And I think that risk is what drives women.[/QUOTE]

You have a rather odd way of making your points - it's like you step out there deliberately to cause controversy at the forefront, and then, once you get said controversy and get called out on it, you say something that makes more sense.

Interesting.

Out of curiosity, how many threads does Lit need about the poor nice guys that cannot catch a break from us soul less, heartless women? Seems to be the topic du jour.

It's apparently a dry spell for a lot of guys. So they're hopeing by playing the lost "nice guy" they'll get some female sympathy and then try and get into your pants.

Either that, or they've just realized that most smokin hot girls have BF's... and it's not them.

*rips own typing arm off and beats herself to death with the soggy end...*

Hey-I have a BF...does that make me...

a) smoking hot

b) someone who's being used by a "nice guy" who's following the spurious advice posted here and being used to help him get over his "nice guy ness"

c) Someone who knows what she wants and isn't afraid to express it

d) I don't give a fuck...

Answers on a post card please to...this is pointless...

Ummmm. I'm just responding to BoredVAWife's post... I'm not agreeing with the guys on here... just saying that it's the reason there's so many "nice guys finish last" threads...

And I'm sure, at the very least, your SO would argue that you're smokin hot...

And thanks for the Kiss VAWife ;)

After some thought I think I can be a bit of an arrogant asshole maybe...? Or maybe it's something else. I like to put ideas out in a raw, less refined form in the hopes of meeting someone who gets right away, or alternatively maybe I like putting myself in a position where I want to overcome some adversity because in the end it's much more satisfactory to win someone to my way of thinking, or convince them (reasonably) that there is some sense in what I say than to say something benign that I know people will agree with. I think sycophantic, or manipulative posts that guarantee a woman's approval are so very, very boring.

So perhaps all of my responses have been an attempt to put my (current) theory into practice?

Though the funny thing is I'd like to think I've had some measure of success with you but going back to your original post I can see there's something about you that sets you apart from most posters as well. I doubt I've changed your mind about anything (after all it is only opinion anyway) but you've kept a respectful inquisitive stance with me. Wanting to understand rather than mock. ...Interesting

Oh yes :) I was beginning to think it was just me who noticed!!

Jeez Ransack, you seem to know an awful lot about women, and how they think as a monolithic group. Except for the part where they might read things posted publicly on Lit. Who'da thunk it? I tend to stay away from massively generalizing half the population, but I'm zany like that.

I happen to like nice guys, though I'm not currently looking. To me, nice doesn't mean a weak, whiny doormat, it means someone that is thoughtful and supportive. I'm not sure where the thought that nice guys aren't kinky came from OP, but in my experience, that hasn't been the case. :D Just because someone is a gentleman outside of the bedroom...

So self-identified nice guys, keep looking. You'll find someone that appreciates you.

I'm just totally flabbergasted by this thread and the levels of sickness in it. I see self serving narcissism, shallow judgement, anger, resentment, manipulation, accusation, sex warfare and an overall cynical disbelief in anything kind or decent in the world.

Thank god the OP was not actually seeking advice or information. He would have had to kill himself if he listened to you people. Thankfully, he mostly was drunk and feeling depressed and wondering why this terrible thing had happened to him.

Luckily. he's now showing signs of becoming a jaded pessimist, with pathological mistrust and latent resentment of the opposite sex. Yanno...like the rest of us.

Sheesh

I really wish I hadn't read this thread now...it's all rather depressing really.

A lot of so called nice guys just aren't that interesting, or self absorbed.

Well, I think people in general are interesting. I think the psychosocial dance between women and men is interesting, and really, that's all we're chatting about. You weren't on here screaming even if we didn't agree and I like good, healthy debate. So I can respect all that even if we only agree to disagree.

Uh, venting much? Something repressed you want to share?

'Overall cynical disbelief in anything kind or decent in the world' - that's somewhat dramatic and harsh, isn't it?

Wow.

Meh, I keep hoping for signs of intelligent life.

Occasional wit and stinging critisisim is the best you'll get.

But we do have fun....

I'd avoid GD though... it'll just depress you...

AM pics has boobies though... that seems to keep everyone satisfied :D

I think that women are attracted to the bad boys for the challenge of "domesticating" them. They want to select a jerk and bring out the nice guy in him in a way no other woman has been able to do. B] Personally to me utter bollox I have zero interest in 'domesticating' a 'bad boy' (depending on your definition ofcourse) I give them a wide berth as the thought of them having so little respect for me thinking I will believe every word they say feeding me lines that make me want to vomit? No thank you
To me a 'nice' guy is somone who treats me with respect treats me as an equal who is confident within himself and his abilitles not someone who will agree with everything I say just to get what he wants or just to shut me up!!
What she wants or needs is to know that she COULD be treated poorly but isn't because there's something about her, inside her that convinces her man to be good to her.
Bollox to that too I find that statement to be utter shite! I have never expected to be treated poorly by a guy and neither do I think I can or would waste my time and effort making a man 'good' toward me!

So do I then you read crap like up above!!

Nice guy = boring, to most women.

But that being said, nice does not equate to doormat.

I am a nice guy, and I will always be one. I am just not boring. Don't be boring if you want to attract women. Be intelligent, but not bookish. Be smart and witty, but not a jerk.

Be interesting. Have you own life going on. Have topics for conversation that interest the fairer sex.

Above all, have an edge. Be just a little mysterious. But don't be distant.

I can admit that some of my comments were heartless and shallow.

I had no idea that maybe my comments could damage someones abilities to function as a competent adult.Or that they might cause irreversible damage to ones psyche.

I had no idea that the sensitivity level could be so high on an erotic personals site where the focus can be and not limited to dominance, pain, cheating on spouses, incest, beastiality, group sex etc. etc.

A guy posts about some cry baby bullshit and now on this site are psychologists, marriage counselors, behaviorist and just down right good wholesome people.
