And yes, I did see what happened in Tennessee. But that's a different state with a much larger GOP base, and even they at least waited until something happened that they could pretend was a reason to do it.

The council, which currently has 39 members, will hold a special meeting Monday to discuss an interim replacement for Jones' seat. Vice Mayor Jim Shulman said he expects the council will take action to suspend the rules at the meeting to vote on a successor to fill Jones's seat instead of holding a monthlong nomination period.
i believe it was also mentioned on a news programme that he cannot be punished for the same incident again, so if he's back in they cannot oust him again unless something new happens.
