WOD: Through the Darkness of Forever

Hunter rose from the earth, showering dirt all around in the middle of the forest. When he rose to his feet he brushed the dirt from his hair and clothes, he fed on some wild animals that he found and then took to the form of a Spotted Owl, and flew to an ally a couple blocks away from this new club, The Oracle, and resumed human form. From there he walked to the club, after a short wait he finally entered, "Thankfully I didn't have my hearing or sight enhanced when I came in." he muttered under his breath.

After glancing around he decided he'd get a little closer to the music, it had a good beat, definitly something he could listen to when he got online and went to work. He leaned with his back against the wall, and listened to the music as some of the key strokes he had recently made replayed through his head, he felt the thrill of gaining access to more information, information hidden to most, but not him. A smile crept onto his face.

Desiree' shuddered as the stranger continued his gaze..'I cant believe I am allowing this man to get to me like this.. I need to mingle amongst the crowd more..serve some more drinks...

Over by the doorway , leaning his back against the wall was yet another handsome stranger , wearing a trenchcoat and looking very mysterious indeed...

Desire' approached him cautiously , there was something about this man that was different from the other, could he possibly be a vamp like her? The hunger was growing within her as the music's beat transported her away to another time in her memory..another place..

She recalled a handsome young man , age of 20 , deep-set brown eyes, cocky attitude , she liked that ...He thought he was gonna take HER out to dinner , instead as her voracious appetite heightened Desire' had all but drained every bit of the young man's blood from his life-filled body..
After seducing him into her bed for an all-nite fuckfest..She still recalled the pleas for help from him as she had him handcuffed to the headboard of her bed....yes, Indeed he had been a wild one..one she could have possibly loved.. but no, the hunger, the hunger Always won out..

Hunter noticed the woman comeing towards him and stared at her as she came over (ooc: Auspex level 2: Aura Preception). "Vampire" he thought to himself, "but what clan?" "Hello." he said outloud when she approached.

As Desiree' approached the man , she sensed that he might somehow know that she too was a vampire.

'Hello there, and how are you doing tonite?' My name is Desire and I am working tonite , actually filling in for someone who was taken ill...Can I get you anything to drink?"

Desiree' couldnt help but stare intently into his beautiful eyes ,tho they seemed the eyes of a loner..somehow sad ..
She was right about him being a vamp tho ,the aura he projected was a dead give away..

"Nice music they are playin tonite here at least ,too bad I have to work or I would be out on the dancefloor" (scouting out my next meal ) she thought to herself ...

Wrathlance stood, amused at what the vampire had said. He had sensed her instantly. Indeed, he had had much experience with vampires. He saw her speaking to a man, and walked to her. He iterrupted their conversation, not being a very shy person. "Im sorry, but what did thou meanst "less toxic"? I'm afraid I don't understand", he said, instantly regretting it. He had forgotten once more. These were mortals! They got drunk! "I'm sorry, that was just a jest. But, does thine offer of a drink yet stand. I believe that I am interested", he said slowly, gently, trying to conform to the tongue of this world.

She watches the man walk away, kind of thankful that it didn't seem to bother him that she bumped into him. She turns back to the bar and motions for the bartender. She orders a rum and coke, and turns to lean back against the bar watching the other patrons. Thinking ~Wow you really fit in here..~ Once the bartender comes back with her drink, she smiles and thanks him, paying for the drink. She then walks towards a less crowded end of the bar, her attention drawn upwards, noticing a man in the windows above. She watches him for a moment before taking a sip of the drink, thinking it a little too heavy on the rum and a little too light on the coke..

Devin flushed slightly.

"Well... I was hoping you might be able to explain how it feels to manipulate Time Magic. Explain... what you feel when you do it. And then, what you do when you do it. And I was thinking... maybe I'll be able to copy it." She scratched her head, her pretty hair falling around her face, and she smiled. "I haven't met a type of magic I haven't been able to understand yet. I only started with some healing ability and a connection to the planet itself... prime energy, is what Boy tells me its called..."

"And in return, I'll help you with whatever you need." She gritted her teeth, obviously embarassed by what she was about to say. "And please... please... PLEASE ignore whatever my dear companion might say about what you... ahem... ought to do about my virtue. He... enjoys doing this to me."

I don't do it often! Besides, you have to admit he's--

"Shut up!" she cried, then realized she had said it aloud, and blushed even more. "Um, not you... of course, you weren't even saying anything..." Oh, now I sound like an idiot. She grinned sheepishly. "Boy puts me in some strange situations sometimes. I hope you and I get along well, though."

She tilted her head. "And I don't think you ever told me your name..."

Standing there, in her short pink dress, her head tilted slightly and a sweet, soft smile on her face, she was the picture of young, adorable beauty... no doubt amplified by the fact that she had no idea this was so.

Seeing the man from earlier at the bar approaching ,Desiree' grew a bit nervous...He asked her what had she meant by too toxic?"

She replied to him ,'Oh I see you decided to mingle amongst the crowd ,That's a great way to meet people..'what do I mean by Too toxic?" ah ,Yes the vodka,You were drinking way too much of that Sir and most especially if you are driving...I'd hate to see anything happen to you when I havent had the chance to know you better yet"(mmmm and boy would I love to find out what he's up to ) she thought to herself...

"I mean , uh..er..It's just such a beautiful night and I have met 2 handsome men now all in the space of 20 minutes and here I am having to work!!" I'm sorry if my statement about your drinking was a bit intrusive..Mr.Uh ..er.."I guess I really havent caught either of you handsome gentlman's names yet , now have I "?
(mmm and as handsome as they are I am feeling the need to feed and soon) ..she thought..

'Damn Desiree' calm down ,she told herself, the dancefloor is thouroughly occupied with some very succulent -looking humans..hehhehehe...But for now I will enjoy the company of these 2 sexy men ..1 of which I am SURE is a vamp...as for this other gent , He sure as hell Looks like the guy I saw in the alley below my apartment ...hmmmm ??

Victoria unconsciously chewed upon her lower lip as she sat waiting, alone once again. She had just finished changing her clothing as Simon had suggested before he left. A simple, sheer gown clung to her form, while the light of the moon streamed in through the opened windows, accentuating every shadowed curve...every delicate crevice of her young body.

She trembled slightly as the clock began to sound, it was midnight, and her chosen sire would be coming for her. The privilege would be hers to be embraced into the family by a sire with strong lineage, not that any of the Ventrue had weak lines. They were all very proud of their undiluted bloodlines, and Victoria did indeed feel a great sense of honor being chosen by her family in this way. As the last chime rang forth, the door to her sitting room opened slowly, and in stepped an impressive figure.

"Welcome Uncle..." she began, slowly rising to her feet.

The man was indeed her uncle by blood, but the year of his birth proved that he was her Great Uncle many times over. She was relieved that it was him, eventhough they had spent only a handful of visits together. She respected him immensely, and was even more honored that he had come all the way from the family's chantry in London, to embrace her into the fold.

He smiled softly, as softly as his smooth, glass-like skin would allow. His features were sheer perfection, his cool beauty undeniable. He hardly looked older than she...

He admired her form, studying the way her heart beat had quickened as he'd walked through the doorway. He seemed to glide over to her...and reached to caress her cheek, so flushed with warmth.

"Are you surprised to see me, Victoria?" he mused with a smile.

"Yes, Uncle...and yet, I am not...but I am truly thankful that is it you. Thank you for honoring me in this way."

"We wish only great things for you, Victoria. This night has been much anticipated for many, and it is I who am honored to welcome you into our family."

She smiled, feeling slightly dizzy, almost lushed as he drew closer. She felt his breath on her neck as he whispered in her ear, the words of binding, that she repeated back softly to him, sealing her fate. The acceptance of her loyalty was granted as he kissed her deeply, his teeth piercing her flesh almost seamlessly. She was drowning, intoxicated, orgasmic in a way inhumanly describable. She held fast to his body, writhing against him, soft moans breathlessly filling the room. She felt him to the core, felt faint and dim to reality, felt herself falling...falling...

Still caught in his arms, her eyes fluttered open, the haze of the room a misty dreamland. Someone was here...someone could see...was watching! Her heart ached suddenly, the tugging that she had felt before now pierced it sharply. It was because of him...she reached for him, crying out, but he was gone, and she was choking...her body in the throes of death as the warmth of blood filled her mouth. She drank, choking at the taste...then drank more, her stomach seizing. Her Uncle smiled gently as he gave himself to her freely, reassuring her, thinking her to have been frightened by the ordeal, not knowing of her vision. He stayed with her through the always-painful change, easing her out of her soiled gown, hours later, and into her bed. He lay with her, flesh to flesh, reassuring her, caressing her, whispering to her of things to come, and she finally fell asleep in his arms, restlessly dreaming of the man...the man who had pierced her heart and soul.

Lucian

"Hmmm... what it feels like? Let me explain something to you about Time and Space, and about magic in general."

Lucian spoke a few words in Enochian, and held out his hand, palm up, furrowing his brow as he did so. Suddenly, a ball of blue flame sprang to life, rotating slowly above his palm. Lucian walked over to the girl, and showed her the floating ball.

"While both you and I can use magic to alter reality, we do it in different ways. These personal beliefs, Paradigms, my Masters called them, form the framework that we can use to impose our will upon reality. I was taught to use symbols to affect the world. Words, numbers, symbols and names. By knowing them, and altering them, I can affect the world. Did you hear those words I spoke before creating this? Those were the words I used to describe this ball of flame, and it's relation to the rest of the world. Depending on the effect I desire, I can describe it using simple spoken language, or written words, or complex symbols."

Lucian closed his hand, and the energy ball dissapeared.

"That theory holds for all sphere effects. If I want to extend my senses to a specific point, or to simply scan something, all I have to do is alter my own label, so that, in relation to the rest of the world, my senses are actually not just in my own body. Does that make any sense?"

Lucian thought about his own words, and realized that he did not seem to make sense, even to himself. Not for the first time, he wished that magic were easier to explain.

"Let me just show you. Perhaps that will aid the explination."

Lucian closed his eyes, and allowed himself to rewrite his pattern, extending his senses far beyond their normal range. Then, he sensed something familiar, something that had been tugging at his senses ever since his return to this world. Intruiged, he followed it to it's source. There, in a room, he saw a figure that was familiar to him. She stood there, dressed in a thin white gown, being held by a very pale man, who seemed to be... drinking from her.

Something screamed inside of Lucian, screaming to him of the wrongness of this action, and he needed to stop it, now. He took a step forward, and, at that moment, she looked up at him. He could see her eyes, so big, so deep, and they seemed to be drawing him in, closer to her. She reached out to Lucian, and he needed to go to her, to save her from this. But the man looked up at Lucain right at that moment, and smiled a cold, cold smile. He brought his hand up, and cut into his wrist with his teeth. Lucian could see the blood pooling below the skin, and it slowly began to pour out from his wound. The pale man brought it up to the woman's lips, and, holding her mouth open, he let a few drops spill onto her soft lips. Almost immidiately she opened her mouth, and pulling his wrist to her, began to drink from it.

Lucian fell to his knees then, pain ripping through his body, greater than any Paradox backlash, deeper than any pattern damage, more complete than anything he had felt throughout his life. It was as if his body and soul were being torn apart, cell by cell, thought by thought, and being reformed. Lucian tipped his head back and let out a primal scream. And he opened his eyes. He was back in his office. And his throat was raw.

Lucian closed his eyes again slowly, and felt himself fall forward, into the darkness.

Hunter nodded to Desiree.

"I am Hunter DeLondie. As for the drink, I am fine for now."

Very Nice to meet you Hunter"",Desiree'' extened her hand to him cautiously as she wasnt quite sure of his intentions....she only knew that something about his eyes captivated her to where she felt intriqued to learn more about him ..

She looked at the other man as welll..and Your name is...???

Hunter politely shook her hand.

"Pleased to meet you, Desiree."

"The pleasure is all mine , I'm sure,Hunter..."Are You from around here?"
Desiree' still couldnt pinpoint what it was about him that captivated her so , but her hunger grew stronger both for food as well as sex , so she decided to excuse her self as she seeked out her prey...

"I'm terribly sorry and I hope we meet again but for now I really must get back to work...."

Desiree'

"Thank-you soo much Hunter, I hope you continue to enjoy your evening kind sir....

Desiree' set off to the dancefloor area to scan over the crowd...

'Let me just show you. Perhaps that will aid the explanation.'

Devin nodded softly and stood quietly, her hands folded at her stomach in a ladylike manner, watching. She could feel the aura streaming off him... funny... it started to make sense... he was moving through space... his senses...

She shuddered and shook her head. He didn't do magic the same way as she did. She just thought about what she wanted to accomplish, and asked the world to do it for her -- and normally she was accomidated. Casting a spell usually left her with the feeling that she owed something to the universe in return, but besides that, there were few side-effects. Perhaps this feeling of duty kept her virtuous and kind.

Boy, on the other hand, could see little meaning in duty -- and truthfully, Devin-Girl had to admit to herself that duty was no reason to live. So she pressed on for his sake; and learned more for herself in the process. She could only hope there was some destiny involved in her being chosen to host her companion -- that it wasn't just some flaw in the universe, some random chance...

Lost in her thoughts... she heard the scream.

She opened her eyes wide and gasped as Lucian snapped his eyes open. Then, strangely, he sighed, closed his eyes... and began to fall forward.

Instinctively, she lunged forward and caught him, and found herself being borne under by his weight. She grit her teeth, and siphoned pure Life Energy from the planet itself into her muscles, finding the weight slowly ease until she could hold Lucian easily. Trying to ignore the intense headache she felt from the reality burn, she lifted the white-coated man on her shoulder and carried him to his bed, placing him down on it gently and covering him with the blankets. She placed his head on the pillow.

Girl, something odd has happened to him. Some sort of magical backlash... that wasn't normal...

Yes... he's shivering and sweating at the same time...

She gently pulled off his coat, blushing at her intrusiveness even though he was well-clothed underneath, and hung it up. She then quietly and quickly darted downstairs and retrieved a wet, clean rag from the bar when nobody was looking and brought it back to Lucian's room, beginning to dab his forehead.

The concept didn't even occur to her that she was being compassionate. It was just... the right thing to do. The normal thing to do.

And, for Boy's part, Lucian had what he wanted...

"You still haven't told me your name," she said quietly to herself, mopping his brow gently.

Hmm... now that his coat is off... why, he can't be much older than I am!

Eheh, does that please you, Girl?

She blushed, but said nothing, tired of Boy's insinuations.

Lucian

There was something touching his face. Lucian tried to ignore it. He was so tired, he really just wanted to sleep. However, it would not go away, and slowly, reality beckoned to him, drawing him to wakefullness. Lucian opened his eyes, to the sight of a hand mopping his forehead. Brushing it away, Lucian sat up in his bed slowly. He saw the girl then, looking worriedly at him as he rose from the bed.

"I am fine. I just had a little... encounter."

Waving away her questions, Lucian opened the door to his office, and stepped out of the door. He gestured to James, the bartender, and watched as James started the last call for the evening. Stepping back into his office, he sat on the bed, and looked at the girl.

"Earlier you said you needed shelter. I will show you to your room now, and we can continue our lessons later, after I have recovered."

Lucian walked over to where his coat hang, and slipped into it, pulling it over his bracers. Lucian opened the door, and indicated she should proceed him.

"Come, this way."

Hunter looked up as the bar tender let it known that it was last call.

"Hmmm, well this hasn't a wasted trip atleast."

Hunter headed for the door.

Victoria's dreams had been riddled with images...images of the man she had seen, the one who's eyes had shown her pity as she reached out for him. As she lay nestled against her Sire, she awoke, still haunted by the look which marred the dream-man's face. He looked wounded almost, as if his heart could also feel the piercing agony, feeling as if two halves of the same being were ripped apart.

Was it her death that brought about this pain...or was it simply the change?

She shook out her tousled hair and got up out of bed. Her Uncle stirred, then awoke, a smile creeping across his lovely face. Suddenly Victoria felt embarassed by her nudity. She quickly found her robe and then sat at the end of the bed, unsure of what to say or do.

"You don't have to 'do' anything, Victoria." He was reading her mind... "At least not right this moment."

She smiled and nodded, watching him rise and dress, readying himself to leave.

"Simon shall come to you this eve...he will help you to begin your journey. Go with him and learn well, Victoria. You will be seeing me again...make me proud."

He leaned in to kiss her forehead gently, and then made his way to the door, quietly exiting.

Devin followed the young man quietly, a soft blush still on her cheeks.

He's so dark and mysterious...

Oh, is your heart, fluttering, dear Girl?

S-Shut up! I just wish he would be more polite to me!

He is doing us a favor. Be good.

I know... but still.... and don't tell me what to do, Boy!

Hahah!

"Y-You still haven't told me your name," she said again, a bit nervous as she smoothed the small skirt of her dress down.

Just as Genesis entered the doors of the Oracle, she heard the last call. Her lips twisted into a little frown. Silvery eyes washed over the club as if she were searching for something, but she was merely observing and feeling. The sensations of those wandering within were curious to say the least. The emotions creeped along her flesh as she stood to the side.

She had choosen to enter within a human form. She stood just over five feet, a slender human figure. Her hair was of the darkest of evenings, illuminating the pale, moonlight kissed flesh. Her eyes wide and of the same moonlit colour. The wings moving absently upon the curve of her back. Lifting her hand carefully, she brushed aside a long ebony tress from her sight.

Lucian

Lucian moved down the circular stairway slowly, trying to hide the fact that he was still slightly dizzy from his... ordeal. As he walked, he looked out over the crowd. There seemed to be many new faces here tonight. Which was good, he supposed. The popularity of the club not only helped to fund is activities, it also helped make this building a shelter where he could practice his Art safely, without fear of Paradox.

As he passed the band, he signaled for them to quiet down a bit, and they lauched into a slower jazz piece. Lucian smiled, that being one of his favorite songs, and it also felt better on his aching head. Ignoring all of the poeple that had turned to see why the music changed, Lucian led the girl across the room, to a side door. Holding it open for her, he followed her, down a set of stairs, into the basement of the Oracle.

"This is the storage space for the Oracle. The quarters are in the next lower floor. We are almost there."

Moving slowly, Lucian moved across the floor, to a seemingly blank wall. He pressed on a specific cinderblock, and the wall swung open on a pivot, revealing another set of stairs. Stepping down them slowly, his hand against the wall for balance, Lucian took each step one at a time, until he had reached the bottom.

This floor, unlike the previous one, which was little more than a storage space, was well decorated. Between the doors lining each side of the corridor were murals depicting the history of his Tradition. The achievements of the Order of Hermes were laid all out, in beautiful detail. He approached the second door on the right, and, turning to the girl, opened it.

Inside was a large room, with a four poster bed, writing desk, and large wardrobe. The furniture appeared to be very old, and it was well maintained. The room was lit by candle and lantern, and there seemed to be no electrical outlets at all. A door on the far side was slightly ajar, and led to what appeared to be a bathroom.

"These will be your quarters. I am sure you are tired, so I will leave you to your sleep. If you need anything, you may simply ring the bell by your doorway, and either James or myself will be along shortly to assist you. If you will excuse me."

Lucian backed away from the door, and turned to leave, walking further down the hallway. Then, he remembered something. Stopping halfway down the hallway, Lucian turned around and faced the girl, who was still standing within the open doorway.

"I appologize. My name is Lucian."

With that, he turned and opened the next door on the right, and walked in, leaving the hallway empty, and the girl standing alone.

Hearing last call, she looks about thinking to get out and get a cab before the rest of the crowd pushes their way through the doors and out into the night. Managing to stay awake for the ride home, she makes a note to ask for something on the lighter side next time she gets a drink there. She heads upstairs to her apartment, and tosses her purse and coat on the couch as she passes. She stops upon entering her bedroom, not remembering having left the bedside lamp on, she looks about seeing a few things seeming to be misplaced. “I’ll just get to it in the morning, must have done it when getting ready to go earlier.” She makes sure the blinds are pulled and strips down, to slip under the covers. She thinks about tomorrow and heading by the club during the afternoon, to see if by chance they are hiring waitresses, anything would be better than nothing right now, before her funds run too short.
She lays there quietly in the dark trying to fall asleep, listening to the quiet of the apartment, as she drifts off, she can’t be sure, but is too tired to get up and check what seems like the closing of a door and then more silence.
