WOD: Through the Darkness of Forever

Devin sighed and walked into her room. Pushing the door shut quietly, she glanced around the room, but found that the only other clothes appeared to be of simple white cloth, neither designated for men or women. Shrugged, she pulled off her dress and boots, and looked in the dresser mirror quietly.

Hmm. If I had a body, I might be aroused.

D-Do you ever get tired of saying that?

Certainly not! Hahah! And besides... maybe there's meaning in a pretty girl.

She glanced out of the corner of her eye, turning slightly. Pretty, huh? She was five feet and a half, but dressed as she was in her simple undergarments, her legs appeared longer than they seemed normally. Smiling and blushing, she couldn't help but admire the curves of her body -- she was quite obviously an attractive, shapely woman, despite the voices in her head who sometimes convinced her otherwise.

Blushing, she looked away, her dark, slightly curly hair shadowing her face. Oh, I shouldn't be admiring myself like this... I ought to go to bed...

Her companion finally silent (he might've quieted down in preparation for his rest time), she removed her brassiere and slipped under the soft linen covers of the large bed, smiling as she nestled next to the pillows and began to fall into a deep sleep.

Desiree'

As Desiree' looked over the crowd , she heard someone mention that it was last call already , strange ..my how the time has flown by tonight...!!

James motioned for Desiree' to come over to the bar.."That man who was drinking the vodkas earlier'? He's standing over there in the corner alone and he seems to have had a bit too many'..

"Ah. just as I thought , Desiree'looked at the clock and it was later than she thought, she still didnt know the stranger's name but somehow she felt a little responsible for his condition..
'My shift is finished and you look like you could use a ride Sir" she told Him...

"Say what?" He was startled as he looked into the young vamp's eyes..She worked her magical ,seductive charm on him and headed to the door with his arm around her waist..

As she headed to her car with the mysterious stranger, she still couldn't keep her thoughts from racing back to Hunter. Why couldnt she get that vampire off her mind? Perhaps because he seemed so elusive..

Looking out into the parking lot, she Noticed that Hunter was just leaving as well..Motioning to him for help with the mysterious stranger who was ready to fall flat on his face, Desiree' waited.

'Could you please help a lady in distress Hunter?'
Seems like our friend here has had a bit too much too drink so I was gonna take him back to my place to sleep it off" ..
Please could you help me get him into my car?'

WATCH OUT!

Devin jerks awake and looks up, and sees a strange man lying on the floor. He appears to have clumsily tripped over her dress.

So she did the natural thing.

"EEEEEEEK! LUCIAN!!!"

And then she did the next natural thing.

"FIREBALL!"

Summoning an orb of Force to her hand, she lobbed it at the strange man, sending him blasting back against the wall. She ignored the burning in her mind and the stinging on her hands, as they quickly faded -- the universe forgave her for defending herself...

T-Thanks for the warning, Boy!

Anything for my host... I sense something from him! He's... not human...

I hope I didn't hurt him too badly... I'd feel bad if I did...

Girl, are you listening? He's not human! As in, he might be a night-walker!

Eyes wide with terror, Devin tugged the blankets around her and curled up against the wall.

"LUUUUUCIAN! HELP!"

She shivered under her blankets, still frightened.

Well, thought Boy calmly, he certainly is clumsy for a six-hundred year old vampire.

Devin was not amused.

She sniffled, trembling for a few moments, and then rushed to her bed, curling up underneath.

I hate this dangerous place! I want to go home... but they don't want me there... doesn't anybody love me, Boy? Am I safe anywhere?

I love you, Girl... and you're safe with me. Trust me.

But he said he'd come back for me...

Prepared for nightmares, Devin shivered under her blankets, completely unsure as to what to do. What DOES one do when one narrowly avoids a vampire attack, anyway?

Lucian

Lucian lunged awake, hearing a piercing scream. It was the girl, and she seemed to be in trouble. For the briefest moment, Lucian wondered what could possibly have penetrated this far into his defenses, into the very heart of his lair. But he brushed that from him mind in a second, flushed his mind clean, seeking calm of mind and spirit. He rushed from his room, clothed in only his white cloth sweatpants, and ran to her door. Kicking it in, Lucian saw the girl curled up in her bed, holding her sheets to her neck.

"What happened? What is the matter?"

"S-Sir Lucian..."

Her eyes wide, Devin stared at him. She nearly stood, but remembered she was wearing nearly nothing, and collapsed. Fueled by fear, surprise, confusion, total embarassment at her near-nudity and her current weakness, and the shame at feeling a tinge of attraction at Lucian's current state of dress...

...she began to weep.

"I-I'm so sorry!" she managed in between sobs, clutching her blankets to her. "S-Someone came in... he was going to hurt me... I scared him away, but I'm just so scared and lost..." She shook her head rapidly. "Things are changing so fast!"

Surprisingly, Boy said nothing, and did not try to take control of her. It seemed he knew when she needed to let things out... things that could only be let out through the body. In this case, her tears made Devin feel slightly relieved, though her embarassment came back full-force.

"I-I'm a bit spoiled, I'm afraid," she admitted quietly. "I'm not used to this kind of fear. I try to be a good girl, and help out, but I just don't know what to do... things are so terribly confusing... and you are so kind but... I don't know who to trust! Not even my own parents! I..."

"S-Sir Lucian..."

She sniffled quietly.

Girl... I'm so sorry... this is my fault.

No! No, it isn't! I would've run away anyway! My parents shouldn't have forced me away... but even they couldn't have forseen this. No... we are victims of circumstance... don't blame yourself...

I suppose... I hope my quest for self-realization does not get you in trouble, Girl. You have been nothing but kind to me... you do not give yourself enough credit for the hardship you have endured, being saddled with me... I feel like such an energy drainer.

Boy, you give me so much joy. Don't say that...

As two spirits shared a private moment, Devin felt heartened, and looked up into Lucian's eyes.

"I'm... terrible sorry to disturb you."

Tears streaking her pretty face, she pulled the blankets tighter around her.

Lucian

Lucian's expression softened as he watched the girl nearly break down before his eyes. Satisfied that there was no immidiate danger any longer, he let the power that he had gathered to dissipate. He walked over to the wardrobe, and pulled from it a simple white robe. Walking to the bed, he sat down at the edge of the bed. Looking into her tear stained eyes, he spoke to her.

"No, do not be sorry. This is my fault. You are a guest in my house, and I have failed to protect you. For that I am deeply sorry. I promise you this, on my life. I shall not fail again. You will not need to fear for your safety under my roof."

Lucian stood then, and handed her the robe. He turned, and walked to the door.

"Now try to sleep. We will speak again tomarrow."

Lucian exited the room, closing the door behind him, and walked to his own room. It had been a very trying day, and all he really wanted was to sleep.

He had left her to return to his room. She held the robe in her hands, and clutched it to her bosom softly. He was so kind...

"S-Sir Lucian..."

He's... very handsome...

Boy, perhaps out of respect for the moment, said nothing.

Closing her eyes with a sigh, completely emotionally exhausted and with no idea what to think, Devin fell asleep almost immediately.

Victoria spent the day enclosed within her chambers. She'd had one of the chantry's servants bring her tomes of magic to study, hoping to quell her restless spirit. The pain thar had ripped through her had become more subdued, now just an ache...pestering her concentration.

Was it all just a part of becoming a vampire? It couldn't be...she'd felt it all day the day before.

Exasperated, she closed the book loudly, her brow furrowed in annoyance.

"This is silly..." she began aloud, "I can not concentrate enough to study, but it's too early to learn anything with Simon!"

She stood, dressing herself quickly. and made her way out of the room and down the stairs. Surely someone would be around to talk to. She needed answers as to why she felt this insistant tugging...this ache that would not go away...

Rufus stood at the bottom of the stairs. He did not really know who he was or what he was doing. All he could remember was hitting his head and waking up in an allyway. He wanderred into the builing. As he stood there and saw the woman descending the stairs.

"Good day madam."

He smiled at her as she came down the stairs. He bowed slightly and offerred his hand.

"My is Rufus, Rufus Mangel. And your is?"

He paused and waited for her reply. He was dressed in a trench coat and black leather boots. His longer brown hair falling over his rugged looking face. You could tell he had travelled long and went through some ordeal getting there although he himself didn't remember it all.

OOC: What's the time period? Is there anything I should know before getting too into the game? and if there is any conflict with the post tell me and I will edit it.

Hunter nodded to Desiree.

"We must hurry."

After Hunter helped get the man into her car he ran off to the nearest ally, changed back into an owl and flew off to the nearest wooded area. He then merged back with the Earth, just moments before the suns deadly rays would have brought about his final death.

Desiree'

Knowing that the sun was soon to rise, Desiree' gracefully accepted Hunter's help getting the stranger into her car.
As she turned to thank the handsome vampire she noticed he had quickly and quietly vanished,'I must Hurry home', she said to herself..

Running traffic lights right and left , she arrived and somehow managed to get the stranger's still drunken and almost lifeless body up the steps to her apartment...she decided to help him into her room to her bed (it was more comfortable after all)..
She went to pull the blinds down and draw the curtains shut as well ,the dreaded sunlight would soon be upon them..

Desiree' decided to pour herself a drink from her bar set up in the living room, it had been a rough night, and she still hungered for both blood and for sex as well..

Victoria laughed softly at Rufus's formal tones, and took his hand gently.

"It's good to see you home, Rufus, I trust that your journey was a safe one?" she said, then noticed he was rubbing the back of his head.

"Oh...are you alright? What's happened to your head?"

She guided him back down the stairway to the spacious parlor, and sat him down.

OOC: We're in present day Chicagoland area. You're in the Ventrue Chantry, a mansion along Lake Shore Drive, and since you were able to just walk in, you are now either a clan member, or a servant to the clan. The official OOC thread is called "World Of Darkness" and you can read character profiles, and settings there. :)

OOC: Sorry, I wasn't able to post for a few days. :D

IC: Wrathlance's plan had worked perfectly. He had acted as drunk as Roland had once been, and had been brought to the home of this beautiful vampire. He stood, brushing himself off. "No subtlety necessary now", he thought to himself. He flexed his back muscles, and slowly, his wings rose from his back, the black feathers blending in with the dark room. He walked to the kitchen. "Desiree, I am the Daemon Lord Wrathlance", he said, startling her. "I know you are a vampire. I have come to this world, and am here for something. What, I don't know. I would like your help", he said, slowly. Though he didn't want to, he might be forced to kill her. She suddenly reminded him of Drusilla, and at the combination of those two thoughts, he reeled backwards, gasping at the emotional blade it had driven into his heart.

Dreaming...

Devin Shildea floated through pure beauty. The purest of white mixed with the most luscious and velvety of blacks, with sparkles of every color of the rainbow and beyond -- every shade was enveloped in this mass. She felt her own soul respond, and she fell deeper and deeper into the bright light.

She passed through the colors as portals, and she wondered -- was the darkness hidden inside the light, or was the light hidden inside the darkness?

Perhaps both...

...an endless cycle?

She felt thumping in her ears, like the passage of blood through critical arteries. Louder, and louder... shuddering through everything...

She looked around, eyes wide, still floating through nothing and everything.

"Is that my heartbeat?" she whispered, blinking.

"No," responded a soft, masculine voice, "that is the Heartbeat of the Planet."

She turned, and saw a young, attractive man -- dark hair, hazel eyes, slender but tough frame... and two small moles on his cheek, barely noticable and not enough to mar his features but enough to indentify him by.

"You're..." she managed, "...you're me?"

"Hello, Girl..." He smiled. "I live within your dreams..."

"B-Boy..."

She reached out to him, tried to touch him, but suddenly, she was falling again...

You aren't strong enough yet... but I am always here with you... waiting... waiting for the world to take shape around our destinies...

Falling, falling forever...

And she slept on.

Desiree'

"Lord Wrathlance?' You knew I was a vampire?" 'Well I have to admit this explains the hole your aura that I detected earlier."
'You seek MY help"? That is very interesting indeed for it is I who may need a little something from YOU".

Wrathlance's eyes were fixated on her body, taking in every curve,'what was she doing to him?" Surely she wasnt trying to seduce a demon?"

"My dear I am here for your help,'NOT to have sex with you altho you do remind me of someone'," he told her.

"I do"? Well be that as it may, I have a hunger that needs fulfilled and I mean to fulfill it Now " , Desiree' continued. As she sauntered toward him the demon started to back away..

'Afraid You cant handle me?" ,Lord Wrathlance"? I have heard that demons are damn good in bed,'she teased..

Lucian

Lucian rose with the sun, as he always did. He proceeded through the routine that had been ground into him from the day he could remember. Wearing only his simple white pants and bracers, Lucian meditated, clearing his mind of everything that had transpired the previous day, reseting his mind, body, and spirit to face the day to come, and renewing his commitment to completing his mission.

Feeling refreshed, Lucian walked up to the first floor of the club, where James was waiting for him.

"Breakfast will be ready shortly, sir."

"Thank you James. Please go and see if our guest has awakened, and inform her that breakfast will be served within the hour."

"Very well sir."

Lucian watched as James dissapeared down the stairs, before moving to the now empty dancefloor. Lucian tied his long black hair into a ponytail, wanting it out of his way for the last part of his morning routine. Lucian concentrated, and reached through space, to the place where he had left his staff and the amulet fragment, and retrieved the Infinity Rod. Letting the spell fade, he whirled the staff around, marveling, as he did everytime he carried it, at how light as balanced the artifact was.

Flushing his mind clean, he set himself in the opening stance for his last excersize. The kata flowed smoothly from his body, his staff whirling about him, a blur of movement. Imagined enemies came at him from all sides, and he met them head on. Feinting, parrying, and striking, Lucian moved throughout the room, his weapon an extention of his being. Until, finally, something intruded upon the edge of his awareness. Sighing, he brought his kata to an end, and let his weapon slowly come to a stop.

"I am sorry to disturb you sir. Breakfast is served in the dining room."

"Thank you James."

Lucian took the towel that James offered him, and wiped the sweat from his brow. Walking to the dining room, Lucian wondered what this day would bring.

Devin smiled softly as she wrapped herself in the warm towel. The rooms down here seemed old, but the bathroom seemed new, and the shower was a relief. Drying the remnants of water from her curves, she put on her undergarments once again, reminding herself to purchase some new ones, and slipped into a long-sleeved white shirt and a pair of soft white pants, spares that she found in the drawers.

She tossed her hair to the side and looked in the mirror -- despite the unisex clothing, she still looked quite the woman. Blushing at her own thoughts, she replaced her silver earrings delicately.

I'm sure he doesn't care, Girl.

Hello, Boy... was that really you in the dream?

...yes... but let's not talk about it...

Puzzled, Devin blinked, shrugged, and left the room, her soft boots padding up the stairs until she reached the dining room. She sat quietly, her hands folded in her lap, and she smiled as Lucian entered...

...and then blushed as she saw he hadn't yet put on a shirt. It reminded her of last night, only now he was in the light, and he glistened with sweat from what must've been excercises.

Err! I've never seen a man like this before! Not where I've been brought up!

Eh? You've seen them in books of anatomy...

That's different, Boy!

A little nervous, she stood, and attempted to curtsey, though she remembered too late she wasn't wearing a skirt.

"G-Good morning, Sir Lucian..."

Lucian

"Good morning. I trust you slept well?"

Lucian noticed the almost curtsey, and gestured for her to sit down.

"No, that is not necissary. Please, sit down."

The girl seemed to be nervous, but then again, she seemed nervous all the time. Absently, Lucian wondered what had happened to that defiancy that he had drawn from her when she had first asked to be his student. She would need that fire if she were ever to become a truly powerfull mage.

Lucian noticed that she was blushing again, and he wondered why. No matter. He was sure that he would begin to understand her mannerisms eventually. Though having a guest in the house would surely take some getting used to.

Lucian sat down just as James was bringing in breakfast. The aroma of fresh food filled the air, and soon both their plates were filled with eggs, bacon, and freshly baked bread. As he ate, slowly and deliberatly, Lucian thought about what the day had in store. Originally, he had planned on studying the fragment, but he was unsure of what he would do with the girl. As her teacher, he supposed he should spend some time on instruction, but he was not sure of where she was exactly. Perhaps that would be a good place to begin. She also seemed to have no formal training, so perhaps he should explain the basics of the Art to her. Start her off by reading some texts.

Lucian realized that it had been nearly a quarter of an hour since he last spoke. He was unused to sharing his meals with others. He looked over at the girl, who was staring at her plate while she ate. Finishing up the last of his meal, he stood up and addressed her.

"I am going to go change, and then I will be in my office. When you have finished your meal, join me there, and we can begin your instruction."

Lucian slowly walked from the room, down to his bedroom. Stripping off his clothing, he slid into the shower, to wash the sweat of his morning workout off. Dressing again in simple white pants and a shirt, he proceeded to his office above the nightclub dancefloor, to wait for the girl.

"I'm sorry", he said, his confidence sweeping back into him. "you just looked like a lover of my old friend's. He unhinged his breastplate and it fell away, then unstrapping his sword and lance. He proceeded to take his shirt off, slowly, letting her admire every toned muscle. Finally, he undid his pants, and they fell away, leaving his nakedness standing, just staring at her. "Your turn, I believe", he said seductively, a smile crossing his handsome face.
