Women posing for magazines

Have you been looking at Georgia O'Keefe paintings again? ;)

Heh. You know she posed for nude photographs several times in her youth?
And in at least a few cases she went back over some of the printed nudes & painted her flowers over them?

Another good place to see that sort of flower imagery is in Mappelthorpe's photos :D

No, it's not just talk, I really AM an artist in my spare time, one whose mother also teaches art history LOL

That is giving me a mental picture of a woman spreading her legs while in a seated position. Nice visual, LE, thanks! :D

No problem. It's one of my favorite mental images too and considering we're on the women + magazines thread... I know the pose all too well!

Scrumptious!;)

What's the difference between posing for a magazine and posing for a photographer or even a painter or sketch artist? Where do you draw the line between art and pornography?

I may be posing for some sketches in the future for a well-known artist. I'm not doing it for money, I'm doing it for the art.

I don't know why some women do it. I'm glad they do :) But I don't go for that fake tit look. I don't get why other guys find that attractive. I think they LEARN to be attracted to that fake, round, hard-as-a-rock set of "tits".
Give me smaller, softer, natural ones. Those women pose I think because they are proud of their bodies.

Yep, that's why I did it. I would absolutely never get breast implants, either. (Well, my girlfriend says if somebody offered me a million dollars to do it I should take them up on the offer.) But I am proud of my body (even 20 pounds later) and that's why I posed.

Your photos are wonderful. Stick with your original plan and don't ruin those perfect breasts with implants. Don't lose that 20 pounds, either.

After a recent visit to the neighborhood newsstand and noticing the myriad of adult mags there for sale, it made me wonder what compels a woman to strip down & pose for one of these publications?

Why?? cause they are proud of ther body, there openes to sex and they're getting paid for it. :D

simple

I understand the money aspect of it as well as their pride in their body issues. But beyond that, do they also think about the ramifications down the road?

Quick buck now but what if they intend to seek a higher profile job down the road? Does this hurt their chances? ("Yes, Ms. Jones would be an ideal district attorney but there's this issue of her spread eagle in the July 2004 issue of Hustler")

What about their families? Do they take their feelings into consideration? ("Hey Earl, your daughter sure can take a dildo in the ass according to these photos")

For some people it's no problem obviously and more power to them. I was just hoping to explore other reasons beyond the quick fame & fortune route.

Yes, yes I did think of future ramifications. I have no intention of seeking political office, but even if I did I would be proud of my past. Hell, Arnold Schwarzenegger's got nude pics of himself out there and he's front-runner in the California gubernatorial race. And yes, I did think of my parents' reaction. I told them about it while out to lunch for Mother's Day because I didn't want them to hear about it from somebody else. I don't care what they think - I did the pictures for myself. It was my hope that they would recognize that, and more or less they did. I didn't really go the quick fame & fortune route, although as I've said, I would if given the opportunity. OOB isn't rich enough or popular enough for me to get fame and fortune from it.

At least you had the decency to think about your family prior to.

Can you imagine the shock of some parents when their daughters DON'T tell them and they discover it through other people?

I had always wanted....

to pose in a magazine. I think if I was in my 20's and didn't have any kids I still would. I am in my early 30's and have 3 kids. My body is better than before kids-size 5 and I think I could get away with it but, I can only think of my kids, etc. If someone offered me ALOT of money I would think about it. I have always been a very sexual person and just the thought of posing gets my juices flowing. I give those girls who want to do it for themselves a lot of credit!!!

I guess that's what I'm trying to get at...

what's considered A LOT of money to you in order to be photographed for a national magazine??

I know there are tons of celebrities out there that are offered outrageously amounts of money to pose in Playboy but won't do it. I sometimes wonder if posing in Playboy even hurts a person's job opportunities anymore!

(I'm glad to hear you thinking about your kids though- kudos to you! I'm sure you're beautiful in more ways than you can imagine now that you're a mom):rose:

This reminds me of a cartoon I saw in an old Playboy or maybe it was Penthouse.

A man was showing a friend a poster of a nude woman in his sons bedroom while his son, with a smile on his face was sleeping. The caption read: "I can't make him take it down, Its his Grandmother!"

What about the social ramifications of a mother who poses nude? Or the impact it has on her children? Regardless of how tastful or artistic it is, any kind of nudity will produce a lustful tendency.

It would have to be enough to pay off our bills and home and cars. Even then I think I would rather pose in an upper class type of mag. Okay....this will NEVER happen-lol. I guess everyone has a fantasy and one of mine was to pose nude (at a younger age-lol). Thank you Lust for your comment about being beautiful...maybe one day I will just post a pic here for ya'll!!!!

I think this is mostly an image thing. They are already celebrities, while many of the women that pose in Playboy etc. are virtual unknowns (except for maybe a little previous work in the modeling industry).

Wow, that's a lot of money! I think I would do it (again) for considerably less. Then again, it would be nice to pay off the debt I do have.
