Women...ugh

1786 emails later and we are organized! Yippee!!

Wine tasting is out because of time/travel/budget constraints but we have a chalet (with a hot tub!) booked in Rossland and we have some wicked rides planned.

There will be eight of us. Everyone is bringing some kind of food. The girls were kind enough to put me on "popcorn duty" in light of my culinary shortcomings. (Or maybe that was self preservation on their part?") And there shall be much imbibing of wine and the like.

We leave this Friday and I'm very excited! (L's not going to be happy when he discovers I've taken the popcorn popper, though).

First of all - contrary to the tone of this thread title - I don't hate females, not even remotely, and I find the part in bold offensive. I love women. I am one. Some typically-female behaviour I find confusing and frustrating but I can say the same about typically male behaviour as well. I do not dislike either sex. And I really don't want to encourage woman-bashing here, I think women do too much of that as it is.

I think you took me a little too seriously. I'm female myself, and I wouldn't have it any other way. It's just the superfeminine types who place emphasis on things I believe to be completely trivial are very irritating. Also, their natural inclination toward drama makes me dislike a lot of them.

Though really, it goes both ways. Men can be just as frustrating.

that is why I need more friends! I want to go on a lovely girls weekend with wine and popcorn. And a hot tub.

I'm in! I'll bring the nail polish and glitter. You bring the eyeshadow. We both should bring wine, just in case we need more than expected.

Who's in?

Deal. Wine. Liquor. Glitter. And cookies. ;)

Oooh, can we have feather boas, too? I love an excuse to wear a feather boa. :)

Oh.My. Cod!

That much fun should be illegal. 7 women screaming down a mountain, over rocks and roots, through mud, tearing open tender flesh, swearing, grunting and sweating uphill, trash talking the hot, young, macho, male riders...half our age, tromping into the chocolatier in bike helmets, gloves and covered in mud, drinking beer and scarfing cheezies in the hot tub, dancing into the wee hours in the living room, laughing so hard we couldn't breathe, talking about...everything. Just having the BEST time in the whole wide world.

Yep.

I think I'll re-title the thread..."Women...YAHOO!"

:D

'Twas, 'twas. We even had a good laugh at the 3452 emails exchanged.

Next time you should aim to, at least, 4253 emails ... just saying ;)

(I'm soooo envious of such a great women's week-end! I don't have enough women friend in one place or with enough overlapping in my life to pull something like that off ...)

Your life's not over Rida. Nothing says you won't have more women friends in the future.

I was lucky with this group. L and me moved up here after visiting two of our very closest friends, that live in Nelson, who had been raving that this place was perfect for us. We only had two friends when we arrived but their entire circle of friends immediately accepted us and we've all been close ever since. It helps that they are all easy people to like.

Alright Rida....we have some things in common...so let plan for the Great Girls Weekend of 2011 and see what we can come up with!

Great idea! You planning to be over this island anytime soon? :D

I've been telling Hubby that I need a sabbatical to travel across the world to meet all the great ladies of Lit! (And the gents too ;) )

But I'm afraid one year might not be enough ...

:rose:

I do have some, but sparse all over the world and sharing different aspect of my life. And I'm realizing that I'm a bad friend when it comes to keep in touch
