World of Sardon

“Your horse looks tired from carrying two for so long.” Lucifine said quietly. “Why don’t you ride with me for a while, Kallisto…”

She didn’t want to make too much of a scene over this, but if ‘Faolan’ was making Kallisto uncomfortable, Lucifine wouldn’t have it.

Faolan and I are going to have a little talk later about decency towards young women… Lucifine thought, as she offered the wolf girl her hand.

Kallisto smiled. "It's ok..." She said. "My horse won't let other people ride her. I would appreciate your company however Lucifine," she said with a smile. Kallisto didn't want to have to leave her horse with this man. It wasn't that he was a bad person... He was just strange.

Asking her such things.

It was odd and strangely she wanted to keep talking to him. Instead she turned to Lucifine. "Have you even been to E'sari?" She asked.

"If the animal is tired, then perhaps I should take my own weight off it," I say in reply to the IceWoman's statement. I hop off the animal's back and try to keep pace alongside the two women and their animals. I look back up to WolfGirl (who calls herself Kallisto), and ask, "Is your animal ailing, Kallisto? Does it need comforting? Should I give it a hug?"

I turn to IceWoman after hearing Kallisto's reply.

"I am Falling," I say to IceWoman. "Do you have a name also?"

I wait for IceWoman's reply, then return to my original conversation with Kallisto.

"Kallisto," I say thoughtfully. "Perhaps we should wait until we finish our journey. I think it would be easier to examine your body without its coverings when we are not so concerned about travelling."

My thoughts return to the image of Kallisto hugging IceWoman.

"Do you need more comforting?" I ask IceWoman. "I can give you a hug if you need comforting. I may not yet be as good as Kallisto at administering hugs, but I expect to get better with practice."

Lucifine nodded to Kallisto. She wouldn’t give up her horse so Lucifine resolved to keep a firm eye on her then, just in case. Kallisto and Lucifine’s horse flanked Faolan now and he walked between.

“I’ve never been to E’sari.” Lucifine said. “I’ve never been outside of Korinth until now…”

"I am Falling," I say to IceWoman. "Do you have a name also?"

Lucifine looked at the stranger for a moment, and raised a snowy eyebrow. He was dead set on being called ‘Falling’, and she couldn’t help but crack a smile.

“I am Lucifine of Korinth.” she said.

Kallisto," I say thoughtfully. "Perhaps we should wait until we finish our journey. I think it would be easier to examine your body without its coverings when we are not so concerned about travelling."

“you shouldn’t…” Lucifine started quietly. “You shouldn’t ask that of a young lady you hardly know. You’re making her a bit uncomfor--”

My thoughts return to the image of Kallisto hugging IceWoman.

"--Do you need more comforting?" I ask IceWoman. "I can give you a hug if you need comforting. I may not yet be as good as Kallisto at administering hugs, but I expect to get better with practice."

Lucifine was caught off guard in mid-lecture and her mouth snapped close. For long moments, she looked at Falling,(Faolan?). She wanted to reach out for this stranger again, to feel his arms around her, but hurt seeped into her heart again, and she pushed the thought away.

“No…” Lucifine lied, as she struggled with her sudden sadness again at the reminder of Marius. “I don’t need comfort. All I need is Tempest at my side—Tempest is my comfort…”

"It is not a small place. But it is hidden in The Great E'sari Forest." She was smiling at just the thought. She had not been there since she was just a babe. Well, a young child. She remembered playing in that forest... she wondered how much things must have changed.

Kallisto was curious as to why exactly the man was so persistant about seeing her without her clothes. She didn't think much of her body. It was just a body. Sure, she had been told she was beautiful but she had scars just like any other warrior.

“No…” Lucifine lied, as she struggled with her sudden sadness again at the reminder of Marius. “I don’t need comfort. All I need is Tempest at my side—Tempest is my comfort…”

Kallisto heard the voice change but decided that it was not be right now to comment on it. Who knew what else would comeoutof the man's mouth. Was he always like this? So far she had no reason to guess otherwise. "When we get to E'sari," she was trying to break the tension, "we are all going to have nice warm beds and good food and drink," she explained. She was planning on staying out with her cousins and really watching them get drunk. "E'sari is known for it's food and drink..." She mentioned with a smile.

"Tempest? Ah, you mean that object attached to your side?" I point to Lucifine of Korinth's object. "I did not know that such an object could give you hugs, but now I see why you seem to carry it with you all the time..."

Kallisto mentions something about food.

"I like food," I say, nodding. "When can we eat again? I would like to eat sometime before you allow me to examine you without your coverings, Kallisto."

((OOC: We'll just call him Falling...))

She too looked at the weapon and had to admit thatit looked like it was not something to mess with. She knew that that woman had to be quite skilled with it to be boasting such a large weapon. "It's a sword Falling..." She said looking at him. "It's use does not include hugs." She said smiling a little to herself. "Swords are used in fighting and defending. Much like my Kaliopy," she said motioning to the large bow resting on her lap and the arrows strapped to the horse.

At the mention of examinations and food she had to chuckle. "Falling. I am most likely like every other woman you have examined," she said trying to take the fun out of it. "We will eat, enjoy the party, and rest before we begin our planning." She was very amused at his persistance. It was apparent with the mild blush and the smile she was trying to hide.

"I have never examined a woman before," I reply to Kallisto, quite puzzled at her statement. "This is why I would like to examine you, so that I can learn. Do you not wish to allow me to examine you, Kallisto? Should I ask Lucifine of Korinth instead? Perhaps I can give her a hug in exchange for her allowing me to examine her?"

Something inside me makes a strange growling noise, and it reminds me that I wish to eat again as soon as possible. I wish we could arrive at our destination much sooner, so that we can eat food again. Before I became mortal, there was no need to travel; I simply wished to be somewhere, and I instantly appeared there.

"This state of mortality is not very pleasant and quite inconvenient," I say out loud. "My sister should not have asked her worshippers to kill all of mine. If ever I regain my immortality, I shall do something unpleasant to her in return, and she will be VERY inconvenienced."

"Examine me?" Lucifine said suddenly shocked, and on the heels of that:

"Sister? State of mortality? Who are you? Who are you really?"

She stopped her snowy steed in front of Falling, looking down on him for an answer...

I plow straight into Lucifine of Korinth's animal.

"You should be more careful where you place your animal," I say, rubbing my nose and looking at Lucifine of Korinth. "Your animal is much larger than myself, and could injuure me quite easily with its size and strength."

I walk around Lucifine of Korinth's animal while I answer her question.

"I am Falling." Did I not say that already? Perhaps, mortals do not hear or remember very well. Will this lack of memory and/or hearing happen to me also, now that I am mortal? The thought disturbs me greatly. "I think I need a hug now."

Honestly Kallisto was very surprised that this man could flit about and not care who it was. She was a little upset too because... well if she could be so easily tossed aside then why should she let the little bugger look at her... She had not thought that she was entertaining the idea and now sheknew that she had which was frustrating her further. She huffed indignantly while Lucifine seemed to be caught quite offguard.

Kallisto was silent as she waited for an answer. She had heard of such things before but really to have someone actually trying to convince them that he was a God was just too hard to fathom.

"Falling..." Kallisto says slowly. "Why were you naked when we found you?" She was very curious now. "What were you doing before you came to travel with us?" She asked as she climbed down from her horse.

She figured that it would be much easier to get flies with honey so she hugged him. "Why did you not have a name? Do you not remember?"

Lucifine looked down at her horse's bluish mane. Her pale cheeks reddened, somewhat ashamed at her harsh tone that she'd taken with Falling.

This is not the King's Guard... She thought. I have no authority to question anyone so harshly anymore...

"I appologize for my tone, Falling..." Lucifine said quietly as she moved her horse out of his way. "You must understand that if you're saying what I think you're saying, if you're saying...."

Lucifine paused as she slid off her horse and approached the taller man. She was so much shorter than he or Kallisto...

"If you're saying that you're the brother of the Goddess", she whispered, "then this could be a very... dangerous thing for you."

"I am grateful for your hug, Kallisto," I say, feeling much comfort from WolfGirl's encircling arms. "I was naked because I do not have the soft coverings that you have; there is no need for such coverings in the Heavens.

Before I came to travel with you, I fell very fast from the Heavens, sometime after my sister's worshippers killed all of mine.

I do not know if I ever had a name; Father always referred to me as Son or You-Lazy-Dolt or Good-For-Nothing-Oaf. I always ignored Sister, so I don't know if she ever called me by any name. Mother always tried to keep away from me for some reason -- soemthing about a prophecy... I never really paid attention or cared; Father says that's my problem..."

I look at Kallisto and Lucifine of Korinth, puzzled at their sudden questions.

"Why do you ask?"

Kallisto knew that it would be dangerous just taking him inand not knowing his name. How easy could it have been for him to slit all of their throats and leave them for dead... far too easy in her opinion but at least he had not done that and for this small thing she was grateful. She hugged him for a moment long before moving from his arms.

"Yes, itis dangerous but think about it... What if we got him back into power?" She asked Lucifine. "He could definitely help us out..."

The Caravan drifted on around them while the three talked.

"Get him back into power?" Lucifine said even more quietly. "We don't even know what he's a god of... At any rate, if there's a prophecy, then we need to get at it, study it... See if it can offer us anything we can work with."

"Why do you ask?"

After listening to his whole story she decided what she wanted. "We have to bring him with us..." She was now pacing on the ground, not at all worried about the caravan which was moving on ahead of them.

"We cannot have him just wandering about. I hardly think that he could fight if we gave him a sword. And with as little as he understands about mortality he would be dead in less that three days." Kallisto was not nice... she was honest.

"I think it best if we restore him to his God-ship..." She said.

What damage could it really do.

"And what if Sardonica finds him?" She said. "I doubt that she would be inviting." Yes, they had to take Falling with them.

"Get him back into power?" Lucifine said even more quietly. "We don't even know what he's a god of..."

"He could be the God of worldly pleasures now right?" She teased. "Food, drink, and women..." She was laughing at this point.

"No," Lucifine said. "We can't leave him to wander, especially while he's weak. Sardonica could snuff him like a flame right now... We can try to restore his God-ship, but it the mean time..."

She appraised Falling from head to toe with a keen eye.

"I think I can teach him how to handle a sword." She said. "If he's willing..."

Lucifine cracked a smile...

"God of worldly pleasures? That would be..."

Damned appropriate for the way he looks... she thought.

but she didn't finish her sentence and her smile faultered a bit sadly.

She smirked because she thought she saw something in the way the other was looking at him which made her laugh very hard. She looked at Falling and would admit that he was a good looking man. She was just surprised at how fast her had been trying to move, though now understanding that he really did not believe that he had been doing any kind of harm.

"It would be interesting," she finished the older woman's sentence for her. Of course she was something a little more fun than interesting. "Training him would be a good idea..." She stated. "We'll be to E'sari in a matter of hours," she said as she blimbed back onto her horse and offered her hand down to Falling so she could help him up.

"What is a Sardonica?" I ask, completely lost while trying to keep up with Wolfgirl and IceWoman's conversation. I notice the caravan moving farther ahead of us, and worry that we will not reach our destination as soon as possible. "Perhaps we should keep up with the rest of the mortals? I do not wish to wait much longer to eat..."

I catch something about restoring my Immortality in the conversation, and this distracts me, at least momentarily, from my thoughts of eating and hugging.

"The only way my Immortality can be restored is for me to regain true worshippers," I say, thoughtfully, thinking that such obvious information may not be so obvious to these women. "Unfortunately, my sister's worshippers killed all of mine, and I do not know how to regain any new people to worship me. I must confess that I paid little attention when Father tried to teach me about such things... I do, however, remember something about earning the worship of my followers, and that I must be worthy of such worship... But again, I do not know how..."

'kay :)

Which reminds me, I should've put a more thorough description of Lucifine up. (I've only been doing it in bits and pieces here...)

Lucifine didn’t miss that the girl had caught her looking, but she did her best to ignore it as she slung herself back onto the back of her snow horse.

“Yes,” Lucifine said barely audible. “Interesting…”

And then more loudly:

“Tempest and I will see him trained when we get to where we’re going, I promise you.”

“We should speak of these things and what kind of god you want to be when we get to E’sari out of the way of prying ears and eyes…” Lucifine said oddly gentle. “The things we speak of should not be made common knowledge. Not yet…”

"You know, I'd rather not be referred to as a god," I said in hushed tones to Lucifine of Korinth. "There's way too much historical baggage behind the G-word. I mean, it's alright for other deities to call each other the G-word, but it's really not polite for non-deities to refer to deities as such. I prefer the term deity instead."

I smile at Lucifine of Korinth, to let her know that I'm not offended by her casual use of the G-word, especially in my presence.

"As far as what kind of DEITY I wish to become," I say, shaking my head in amused confusion. "I am who I am; I cannot be any one else."

I quickly glance at Kallisto, and see her smirking. I smirk back at her. Then, I look at Lucifine of Korinth and smirk at her, too.

I notice some of the men in the caravan look back at us. I smirk at them as well. I wonder why they are looking back here? Perhaps, they need hugs?

I quicken my pace to catch up with the rest of the caravan. I should ask the men if any one of them needs a hug... Perhaps all of them need hugs?

Hmmm...

If I need to hug all of them, that will delay us from reaching our destination -- and the subsequent eating and sleeping that I look forward to with great anticipation.

I break into a run, trying to reach the men as quickly as possible, so I can hug them all and prevent any further delay.

"Who needs a hug?" I yell to the men, thinking that it will be more efficient to do this in an orderly fashion, and knowing which one to hug first might make things easier.

I notice looks of dismay and revulsion on the men's faces as I approach. Apparently, they are in dire need of hugs -- more so than I realized.
