"Who needs a hug?" I yell to the men, thinking that it will be more efficient to do this in an orderly fashion, and knowing which one to hug first might make things easier.

I notice looks of dismay and revulsion on the men's faces as I approach. Apparently, they are in dire need of hugs -- more so than I realized.

"Falling!" She called as she willed the horse to catch up with him. "Men do not want hugs from other men," she said. "Now get on my horse," she said offering her hand to him. "We will make it to E'sari quicker if you ride with me," she said as she waited for him to climb up.

She waved the other men to continue on.

Some of the men detached the objects at their sides -- I believe Lucifine of Korinth called them swords -- and held them towards me. Something tells me I need to trust Kallisto's words without question. I get on Kallisto's horse, mumbling, "You mortals have too many rules."

I sit behind Kallisto pondering everything I've learned so far. To pass the time, I absently examine her body, mostly with my hands, since she is still covered by the soft objects upon her body. It takes me awhile to work my hands into her coverings, however, but eventually and with some persistence, I manage to squirm my hands underneath until I feel her skin. I notice that her skin warms my hands in a very pleasant manner.

"Oh, look!" I say in excitement as I look up and notice that we are nearing our forest destination. "Trees!"

After the excitement wears off, I resume my manual exploration of Kallisto's body.

"Kallisto, I like having my hands underneath your coverings," I say to her. "You feel very nice and you keep my hands warm. I am grateful to you for that.

Do you wish to change places so that you can warm your hands underneath my coverings? I think it is only reasonable for me to offer to reciprocate."

"You know, I'd rather not be referred to as a god," I said in hushed tones to Lucifine of Korinth. "There's way too much historical baggage behind the G-word. I mean, it's alright for other deities to call each other the G-word, but it's really not polite for non-deities to refer to deities as such. I prefer the term deity instead."

I smile at Lucifine of Korinth, to let her know that I'm not offended by her casual use of the G-word, especially in my presence.

"As far as what kind of DEITY I wish to become," I say, shaking my head in amused confusion. "I am who I am; I cannot be any one else."

"Very well," Lucifine smiled slightly. "You can only be as you are; I agree."

"Ah... E'sari" Lucifine murmured. "Forest... incredible..."

She looked up at the towering trees above her. In Korinth, there was ice, and snow and mountains. There were trees, yes, but not like these.

"Lucifine!" a scout called out to her. "You're on point!"

Lucifine nodded and looked back at Falling and Kallisto. She saw that he'd wormed his hand into places and she shook her head wryly.

Well, at least someone should be allowed to have some fun... she thought. Let it be them, then. If Kallisto doesn't object, then let them have their time...

The Korinthian looked around at the Caravan, at the men who who passed for soldiers. She was probably the only one amongst them that was trained to be one.

I've got my work cut out for me, here...

She gave Falling and Kallisto one last look and hoped that their time would be happy. Lucifine spurred her horse forward, and idly wondered what it would've been like for Marius to touch her like that while he'd still been alive...

"Falling!" Lucifine called out as she rode forward. "Make sure you're rested--We'll start your training in the morning..."

And now for something I forgot (Lucifine's description)...

<OOC> Forgot to give a description of my girl :D

Name: Lucifine
Species: human
Age: Mid-Late 20’s
Height: 5'0”
Weight: 120
Magic Abilities: Cold magic (combat oriented, mostly...)
Weapons: A magic rapier with a bluish sheen called Tempest
Description: Lucifine is a pretty woman who hides her emotions behind a soldier's mask of discipline and duty. She's petite, yet muscular and has snow-white hair, pale blue eyes, and pale skin with a very slight, bluish tinge.

She wears the black, banded leather armor of the Korinthian King's Guard, black boots, and black gloves, (which she rarely, if ever, takes off...)

Kallisto had been quite surprised when cold hands found their way under her clothes, not that she was wearing many. She had her big green sweater and a few other things under that but otherwise she was not wearing more than what was necessary to keep warm. She was shivering, even though it was not nearly as cold as it had been just two nights ago, due to the chilled hands. She was happy to see the forest of E'sari.

The trees were ancient and massive, so large houses could have been built in them and she wouldn't have been surprised to see some avians perched up there.

Kallisto laughed at that. "We are nearing the city Falling." She wasn't sure how to respond to everything that was going on and... and apparently Lucifine was not going to stay. Uh oh... if she was alone how far was this going to go? She felt good with his hands touching her but he was a deity for Gorias' sake. She was sure that if anything happened it wouldn't be for a long time.

That was something that frightened her just a bit.

"Falling!" Lucifine called out as she rode forward. "Make sure you're rested--We'll start your training in the morning..."

"He's going to get some sleep!" Kallisto shouted back sounding like she found the whole thing ridiculous but wasn't going to shove him off.

((OOC: I am making a character for Lucifine so don't worry you'll meetsomeone good too.))

Here's Kallisto--
Kallisto.jpg

Name: Maddox Oberon
Race: Destrayan Elf*
Role: Second in command of the underground movement against The Goddess.
Height: 5'11

Description:
Despite his difficult past, Maddox has a very bright, positive and amiable character, now at the age of thirty six, one might think him to be nothing above his mid twenties what with his cockiness and mischief, yet that is all but one of his many faces for below the smiles and boyish charms rages on a vengeful warrior with a deadly, manipulative mind. Friends would describe him as fiercely loyal and reliable, though the women know better than to expect any form of commitment from the spiked-eared philanderer.

Weapons and Skills:
Maddox is by no means picky when it comes to his choice of weapons: the man seems to excel at them all, his favorite though being battle axes and The Halek: traditional Destrayan blades known by the strange metal they are made of, about the only known existing metal that can be used to fight off ethereal creatures and beings. Otherwise Maddox seems to be able to improvise and is capable of turning even the most harmless object into a deadly weapon! Other than weapons Maddox depends on his physical capabilities when in battle, having inherited his feline stealth and strength from his elfin roots.

*Destrayan Elves: A species of elf/human hybrids. Full description coming soon.

The HighPriestesses

"I think Lucifine of Korinth needs a hug, Kallisto," I say, looking expectantly at Wolfgirl. "And what does she mean by training?"

I shake my head, partially in disgust at my own behaviour. I could almost hear what Father might say at times like these...

-----

Flashback to a scene in the Heavens....

All-Father: Maximus Prime! You are a God -- ACT LIKE ONE!

Me: Yes, Father.

All-Father: No, no, NO! For crying out loud, Son! Quit being so darned agreeable! Assert your dominance, Son! Throw a lightning bolt or two, darken the clouds, summon the Seven Winds -- do something Godly, will ya?

Me: OK, Dad.

All-Father: DO NOT CALL ME DAD! Oh, I give up. Go play with your sister.

Me: Thanks, Dad.

-----

I break away from my reverie with a start. Father was right: I can't expect to be a God if I don't start acting like one.

If I am to regain my Immortality, I need to gain worshippers. In order to gain worshippers, I need people to worship me. People will only worship me if I deserve their worship, and the only way I know how to deserve such worship is to prove my status as a deity.

But that's my quandary -- how can I prove I am a deity, when I'm not?

The answer is obvious: it is not up to me to prove my own divinity. It is the responsibility of my priests and priestesses to garner worshippers for their deity.

And so, my first task in my quest to regain my immortality is now clear. I must find my priests and priestesses. But who might do well in this capacity? Where can I find these people who would become my clergy?

Certainly, not the men in the caravan. They do not look very receptive, even when I offered them hugs -- it was as if my offer of hugs offended them somehow.

Who would have the charisma and leadership skills I need?

I notice Lucifine galloping away on her animal, while my hands stay warm under Kallisto's coverings.

Hey... Waitaminute....

I look at Kallisto, and then look at Lucifine of Korinth, and then back to Kallisto. An idea forms in my mind.

"Kallisto," I say with great determination. "I must speak with you and Lucifine of Korinth immediately."

Kallisto nods before galloping away towards Lucifine. She doesn't know exactly what's going on. But it has to be serious. If all he wants to do is hug her than Kallisto would not be so willing to show him anything. Finally they were catching up to the ice woman.

"Lucifine!" Kallisto yells getting the older but shorter worman to slow. "Falling needs to speak with you," she said as she pats her tired horse for continuing on despte it's exhaustion.

I nod in gratitude towards Kallisto for galloping us towards Lucifine of Korinth.

"Lucifine of Korinth," I began. "I must speak with you and Kallisto. But before I do, I think you need a hug."

After waiting expectantly for a few seconds, I give Kallisto a nudge.

"Well?" I say, looking expectantly at Kallisto. "Aren't you going to give her a hug?"

I like him!

(but then, I'm a sucker for elves :D)

"Lucifine!" Kallisto yells getting the older but shorter worman to slow. "Falling needs to speak with you," she said as she pats her tired horse for continuing on despte it's exhaustion

Lucifine heard the gallop behind her and she wheeled her horse around. It pawed anxiously at the ground.

What could Falling possibly want of me? she thought. I’m supposed to be on point now…

“Just… call me Lucifine, Falling.” The Korinthian woman said.

Kallisto was more than a little surprised at the whole nudging and then the question. She frowned at him. She looked at Lucifine. "I have no idea what he's up to..." She stated.

Lucifine looked from Kallisto to Falling.

“I don’t need a hug—I’m fine.” Lucifine said.

She turned her horse and motioned for Kallisto to ride up to point with her. When they settled in at the head, the scout that had come for Lucifine gave her a nod and rode back to take his new place in the back of the Caravan for his watch.

“What is it that you wanted, Falling?”

((OOC: Suddenly feels threatened by new male character. ))

"Very well, Lucifine Falling," I say, even though that wasn't quite the name she told me before. I turn to both women and speak to both of them about my newest ideas.

"I need to acquire worshippers, but cannot do so until I have Priests or Priestesses to lead them. I believe that you are both good leaders. You are the first to meet me as a mortal, and you have been very kind to me -- and I am very grateful to you both.

I need-- I ASK... will you give me the honor of becoming my Priestesses, to lead those who might follow me?

In exchange, I will help you and your allies, and will reward you when I regain my Immortality.

What say you?"

Kallisto was shocked to hear such a question. Could he just ask them to be priestesses? She wasn't at all sure. "Don't we have to have some sort of special training?" She asked suddenly looking to the deity. She wasn't sure if she was the best person for such a job.

But he was offering to help them when he was returned to power and she was planning on helping him anyway. "I'll do it..." She said. "But we need to know how to promote you..." She explained. "What kind of a deity are you?" She asked as they stopped at the point.

Kallisto removed herself from the horse and watched Falling get down. It was mildly amusing. But very suddenly she found herself wrapped in a rather large hug. She looked to see her very own Maddox. "Maddi!" She cooed hugging him as he held her offthe ground.

"Maddox, this is Falling," she motioned to her male travel buddy, "And this is Lucifine of Korinth. Guys, this is Maddox Oberon." He flashed a smile at the woman before looking at the man.

"Kallisto I thought I told you notto pick up strange men on the side of the road..." He said looking at the man whose clothes did not quite fit correctly. "But the woman is just lovely." He said locking his amber eyes on her.

<OOC> Ultimate, if you want info on the Night Mother, I can PM you :D It ties very heavily into Lucifine's background.

Lucifine stared at Falling and his incredible suggestion.

“I…” she started. “I don’t think… I don’t think I’m the right person to be your Priestess. Kallisto is better suited to it—I’m too…"

I’m too much of a soldier… she thought. and as long as I’m the only true Korinthian alive, as long as I still breathe, I’m still a daughter of the Night Mother—I’m still devoted to Her…

There was a long pause, as Lucifine tried to find the words to explain to Falling, to make him understand. Lucifine sighed, somewhat frustrated.

“I’ll lend you my sword, I’ll help you as much as I can,” Lucifine said. “but I’m not the right choice for your priestess. Kallisto is a far better choice. She has a more… gentle touch. I’m just…”

Kallisto removed herself from the horse and watched Falling get down. It was mildly amusing. But very suddenly she found herself wrapped in a rather large hug. She looked to see her very own Maddox. "Maddi!" She cooed hugging him as he held her offthe ground.

For the second time on this journey, Lucifine was caught off guard. The amber eyes of the one called Maddox threw her just as much as his words. Lucifine tried to rein in her icy steed; it sensed its rider’s discomforted and anxiously pawed at the ground.

Certainly Falling had reminded her somewhat of Marius but this man, the way he carried himself, the way he looked at her just now. It was just as Marius had in the days before Korinth fell…

No man.. Lucifine thought as an unconscious blush lit her pale cheeks. This is no man—he’s an elf…

She’d heard stories of elves, but had never seen one before. She was in terrible danger of staring at his strange beauty, but just as it was with Falling, she was suddenly saddened.

Everywhere I look, I see your ghost, dear Marius… she thought I’m so sorry—I haven’t had the time to properly mourn you…

Lucifine tore her pale blue eyes away from Maddox’s amber, and cleared her throat as if to knock herself back into a more proper line of thoughts and order… She looked up into the impossibly huge trees where the tiny lights of homes winked in the falling night.

“Well...” Lucifine said quietly. “I should find a barracks or someplace I can check in for evening watch…”

I’m so tired she thought. I need a bath and I need some time. And maybe a glass of wine…

Maddox was all over that. "Well, I just came from the barracks," he said with a smile. "I'd be more than happy to show you the way," he offered as he looked at the woman again, she was very short but pretty nonetheless.

Kallisto wore a raised eyebrow at that. She caught him by the front of his shirt. "Don't do anything stupid..." She warned which earned a grin from the man.

“Thank you.” Lucifine said, as she slid off her horse. “I’d appreciate that…”

She whispered something into the horse’s ear, gave it a gentle pat and it suddenly burst into snowflakes around her. The giant mote of snow swirled a moment before it was blown away by the wind.

Lucifine tried not to look at Maddox as she adjusted Tempest at her side. The rapier was longer than hers had been and it had laid awkwardly across her back for most of their journey.

Kallisto wore a raised eyebrow at that. She caught him by the front of his shirt. "Don't do anything stupid..." She warned which earned a grin from the man.

Lucifine gave Kallisto an odd, almost suspicious look at her warning to Maddox.

“Is there… anything I should know about your friend, Kallisto?” she asked, as she finished adjusting Tempest.

"Nothing," Kallisto said with a smile. "He just has a way with the women," she explained. Maddox shot her a look and she just smile. Yes, he was the lady's man but it was harder when the women knew to watch out for him.

"Shall we?" He asked.

"I see..." Lucifine chuckled softly for the first time in a very long time. "I'll keep that in mind, but I think I can handle him."

Laughter of any sort felt so strange on her lips...

Maddox shot her a look and she just smile. Yes, he was the lady's man but it was harder when the women knew to watch out for him.

"Shall we?" He asked.

Lucifine nodded to Maddox and gave Kallisto a last look.

"I'll see you and Falling in the morning. If you need me, don't hesitate to call on me."

Maddox motioned for Lucifine to come, and she and the elf walked amongst the huge trees as he led her towards the barracks. She hid her awe and her near claustrophobia at being in such an incredible forest behind her quiet expression. She was so used to the wide open range of the mountains and the Underhalls of the cities like Dessine in Korinth.

As they walked, Lucifine couldn't help but glance at Maddox out of the corner of her eye. Not only had he reminded her of Marius, but he was rather exotic and she couldn't help but be curious about him.

Does it really matter if he's a lady's man? she thought. Don't deny that you want the comfort of a man's arms around you... If he's a lady's man, then it would be easy, but...

Her gloved hands curled slightly into fists as she remembered what her touch had been doing to things lately.

Damn it... I doubt I could even touch him, at least not for very long without giving him frost burn. Two months, and I still don't have any real control over this... ice magic yet.

Lucifine blushed slightly when she realized that her glance was rapidly drifting into more than that, and jerked her eyes forward to the treeline. She hoped Maddox hadn't caught her looking...

"So..." she said. "is it possible to get a bath? A bottle of wine, maybe?"
