Woven Rings Of Destiny ( Continuation of The Family)

Aria

I stood staring at the crack in the wall before me. It had taken me awhile to find it, but this was the only feasable location. I couldn't see any where else there would be a cave. I had roamed up and down for a good two hours looking. This crack was dark, and it did not look passable. But when I bent in a little I could see it twisted to the right and opened up.
This had to be it! It didn't look dangerous to me in the slightest, but I knew from the tales this was a dangerous place to go into. Setting down the heavy bag, my shoulders now hurt from lugging that lopsided thing around.
Laterns, food, a change of clothes. Sword, compass map and flash light. I was prepared but was I? Sighing heavily, something inside sent shivers of fear down my spine. This was it, life and death. Weak and the strong. Either go in and find out, or leave and fail?
Shit I hated descisions, always had hated them! For once in my life I was regretting a rash descision to go at this alone. The old woman had told me, someone with the gift of sight. Perhaps I needed to sit and think before just waltzing in there? Yeah right, like that was going to give me the gumption I needed. I just had to put one foot infront of the other and be prepared for anything.
A loud wave crashed behind me, wetting my boots and my pants. Turning to watch the sea I seen something wash up on shore.
Walking forward a little, my eyes studying this object closely. Weird to say the least. What was that?
Trembling started in my legs, this cave had me jumpy. Cursing myself for being such a moron, I walked forward until a man came tumbling from the surf. Jumping back I gasped as I watched this naked man heave in a deep breath, cough and roll to his back.
Now should I die of shock, amazement or freak out?!
I backed up a few steps, I couldn't see him clearly but that was the most bizzare thing I had ever saw in my life! And granted I had awhile to live, but I didn't think anything else would ever compare to this moment.
His body was twisted alittle, thank god! I didn't need to see some strange wandering around buck naked. The cave momentarily forgotten I moved on wooden legs forward. The sword raised in my hands, I didnt take my eyes off the his turned face.
"Out for a swim?" I asked in a cocky tone, as if I really believed that. Perhaps this guy was sent to stop me?

He finally got enough strength to get up. It was hard going, but at last, he moved onto his feet. The woman next to him, staring at him cautiously. He wiped the sea water from his hair, breathing in deeply. This part always was the hardest.
Coming back to life was a bitch.
"Not exactly," he said, between breaths, before he stood straight up, glancing at the cliffside that was before him. Just perfect to land him right here. Fate, it seems, wasn't without a sense of humor.
"I never thought it'd be you." He walked up on the shore, looking more towards the cave a little bit. No, no one's gone in it yet, it's still covered. If the book was gone, the magic guarding it would be gone too, and the cave would be there before them.
It was still inside.
He sat down, standing just seemed too hard for a moment.
"What year is it?" He asked this as if he were asking how her morning was going.

Aria

Stunned speachless at who had risen up before me, I backed up a good distance.
"Oh my god.... It's you?!" I found it so hard to believe that I had to blink once or twice before It registered in my mind.
"Lance." Not a question but fact. "Two thousand two.. It's been a little over two years since i seen you last.."
What the hell was he doing here and naked?! If I could have put that question to voice I would have asked.
"I ...... Hell!" Cursing I didn't know what to expect from him. Was he here to stop me? Was he here for another reason? I wished down deep I knew exactly his purpose for showing up here and now!? Of all times to show up, why here and now?
Concern out weighted the doubts and I had to ask, "Are you alright?" I needed to get into the cave and get this thing going and now this?
Shaking my head, I lowered the sword. It wasn't like he was going to do anything to me buck naked and unarmed.
"Alright, Aside from this very weird situation and you just showing up from no where! Why are you here?"

2002. Two years. It would have to be 2 years. Time travlled in mysterious ways sometimes.
"Listen, everything will be explained, later, I promise, but I don't have the strength, or the time right now. First, I'd like to get something to eat, if you don't mind, maybe some pants or clothing of some sorts. I don't mind being naked, but it seems to bother you."
With his strength returning, he stood up, looking back at the cliffside.
"Then, perhaps we can talk about Merlin's book, and why you think you should be the one to use it after all these years?"

Aria

"Whoa, hold on a minute and wait!" I had to think, my mind still a jumbled mess, I was confused.
"How did you know about the book? Oh never mind, everyone knows about it lately..." I reached into my bag, pulling out the bread, cheese and fruit I had brought along with me. Then I pulled out my sweats and t shirt.
Looking at him and my sweats, I knew i'd have to cut off the legs and make shorts for them to remotely fit. Why the hell was I giving him my damned clothes?! grumbling under my breath I glared at him for a moment.
"You aren't going to stop me Lance. That book has to be destroyed, and nothing you can say will change my mind. If you want to fight then so be it, but I won't just let you take it." I stood firm, my hand still on the sword. Those were big words coming from such a small gal like me, but I meant it. This book had cost me enough, and it could cost me alot more at this rate.
"And you can waltz around naked all you want, I could care less.." I tossed the clothes at him, and left the food on the small lap blanket I had brought with me. Picking up the flash light and sword, I moved towards the opening.
"I have a job to do, before it costs me anymore lives." A statement, I knew it was cryptic and I knew he would object but I didn't care. I would get inside and get that book before him.

Lance put the clothes on, watching her walk up to the small crevice in the wall. Just like he remembered her, not very smart, but very determined. Something he could admire in a woman.
"Well, "he said through a mouthful of bread, "You can start by actually going through the entrance."
He pointed a little further up the coast, "Not very many people know about the cave, and even few know about it's tricks. I could care less about whatever sort of quest you are on, but like you, I have my own duties."
He brushedh himself off, grabbing a banana, "You don't have to prove anything to me. Come on, sit down, we'll talk a little bit. Once you tell your story, and I tell mine, we can finally get the cursed book out of here, and into some safer hands."
He patted the sand next to him, "Unless of course you planned on dying today...."

Aria

"Dying?" Silently I thought he was pulling my leg, but nothing about this whole thing made sense. He pointed further down the beach, but I had been down there already. There was no cave entrance down there, was there?
The past two days were taking their toll on me. I was tired and worn out, weary and afraid as well. Could I trust him? After the wharehouse incident I would say no readily, but he had changed.
He was different then, he is different now.
Moving forward, my mind already making the deciscion for me, I sat down on the beach where he indicated and sank into a deep slouch. All my mind could think of was, why here and now? This was some cruel joke, perhaps at my expense?
"There isn't much to tell about my story. Back in New Orleans I found these two rings. They had symbols on them and I found out later it was Gaelic. A year ago I found someone who knew what they meant. Longititude and latitude, directions to this cave. I began researching things, what was myth and such. Found out there is this black book from merlyn and his coven i guess is the word. Anyways it was a myth that in this book was a spell to change vampires back into humans. If they wanted it badly enough and were brave enough to take on the challenge. Anyways that was my original idea.. Get the book, heal the damned. But it's almost cost me Maggie, and... It costed me Joseph." I stopped and gazed up at the wall, and the crack in it.
"Now I just want it destroyed. Before Vladamir can get to it, before the others get to it and use it to destroy human life. They dont realize that if they destroy man, they destroy themselves as well. All need human blood, animals only last so long before you need more." sighing, I wondered why i was telling him this?
It wasn't any of his business but I felt the need to speak to someone.
"So I am here, to locate this book, I have the medalion and the blood of the original mother and friend to Merlyn. Something.... Anyways.. There is a ritual, and an alter and this book, and a way to destory it forever. I wish to see it through. I dont know you reason for being here, perhaps to stop me I dont know. But I have everything that was said I would need." I fell silent, nothing more to tell. My hand stroked the sword a moment, thinking of Joseph. Perhaps death would be more appealing than this quest I was more than likely not prepared for, but Micheal needed me.
I glanced over at him as he chewed the bread, why was I trusting him? perhaps with the death of Joseph I had lost my mind? A tear slid down my cheek, I was so ready to give into that pain and just scream with it, but I held it in check and toughened up.
"Where is this cave entrance?" I asked quietly. "What's the trick you mentioned? And why exactly are you here Lance?" Everything on my mind, asked straight forward and done with. Now he could pick and choose what to answer and when, I just hoped he was not going to stab me in the back when he got done eating.

"Just like fate to be cruel. Let me tell you something, if you continue on this quest of yours, it won't get any easier. Up to now it's been nothing more than a sprinkle. The storm is on the horizon, and it's coming."
He sighed, wondering if she would actually believe his story. He didn't really care if she did, but still it might have been curious to see her reaction. She was still more human than vampire though. He didn't doubt that a lot of supernatural things still didn't make sense to her.
"I'm simply here to make sure the book doesn't get into the wrong hands. You see, other than a few simple spells, like the vampire re-transformation, there are hundreds of others. Spells that can deal out power as if it were candy, destroy nations, even transport one into different time. It can bring people back from the dead, send others to suffer for an eternity to hell. There's even a spell..."
He stopped for a minute, collecting himself. The last page had been torn from the book, it was no longer there. That spell couldn't be used again.
Taking another bite of cheese, he couldn't help but smile. That one page, was morepowerful than the book itself. Still, the comparisons weren't something he wanted to argue with at the moment.
"I am here, not to stop you, but to make sure that no one uses the book for any evil purpose. It can't get into the wrong hands, and even in the right it is dangerous. The book itself has a way of manipulating the person reading it, corrupting them. I'm here to see that it doesn't happen."
Finishing the last of his meal, he got up, stretching himself. The sun had finally made it over the cliffside and was beating warmly down upon them. He let it, not missing for a moment the warmth of the rays on his skin.
"Come on, let's go get it before anyone else does."

Aria

"Bring people back? But wouldn't that. never mind. Very confusing. Let's get going." Standing up, I put everything back into the bag, and set it inside the boat. All except the flash light and lantern. The sword was pushed under the seat, just incase someone came along. Maybe they wouldn't find it?
The keys to the boat and my rental were still in my pocket, I didn't have too much to worry about. This stretch of beach was so remotely used, there were no signs others had recently been here, if ever.
"Which direction Lance?" He began walking and I just followed behind. Apparently I was way off location as to where this cave was hidden. Knowing my luck it would be like that "labrynth" movie. In plain sight, but you can't really see it. Shaking my head, I trudged through the sand, trying to think about what lay ahead.
"It is rumored there are traps inside. Dangerous traps that you can't even see? That there are illusions as well? That true?"

Lance shook his head walking farther up the beach, "Traps? Illusions? Oh my God, rumors falling around. Does no one know anything on this planet? Listen, this isn't some Indiana Jones treasure hunt. The book is guarded, but it isn't with some simple little traps."
He walked up to the sheer cliff face, pressing his hand against it. Lance walked along the side for a moment, carefully touching the cliffside. It had to be here somewhere.
"The crack over there is the marker," he said aloud," It's there to tell you where to start looking. It only works in the daytime, it seals itself up at night. Which is pretty ironic considering..."
Lance disappeared, just right into the sheer side of the cliff. Leaning up against one of the walls of the cave, he gathered himself up. From this side, things were very dark. The barrier did more than keep strangers away, it also blocked out the light, and the air. He coughed loudly, it was very stale in here.
Lance looked inside for a moment, looking at the outer entrance. Just as he had remembered it all those years ago. Even the decor hadn't changed.
Hadn't Robert done anything to the place?
"You coming?" he called, letting his hand come back out into the sunlight. It would have looked like it was coming right out of solid rock.
"Come on, we don't have all day."

Aria

"Freaking sassy males why are we cursed with this?" Shaking my head, I braced my feet and gripped his hand. Easily enough he pulled me up inside the cave. I barely weighted enough to keep from blowing away, as Beth always claimed.
Standing on the ledge behind Lance, I peeked over his shoulder.
"Well if it's so fucking simple why hasn't the book been found yet?" I was tempted to move around him and shove him off the ledge just for no reason at all but to shut him up.
This was just one of those damned days, everything was going wrong. Nothing seemed to be working in my favor. Perhaps I should just kill him and get it over with. Then I won't have to listen to his know it all attitude. That was unfair of me and judgemental. The stress was taking it's toll and I was being hard on him when he did nothing to me. Sighing, I appologized, "Sorry for my behavior.... It's been a hellish two days." I hadn't even buried my husband, just left. Not like there was anything left to bury anyways, he blew away in the wind. Shaking, I leaned back against the rock wall and closed my eyes.
This place stank to high hell, I was weary and I just wanted to get this over with so I could go home. and I still did not know why I was even trusting him!? He had been gone for so long and well, he wasn't really there to prove he was trust worthy to begin with. I would have to watch him and be very careful. I could just leave now and forget the whole thing. He couldn't do much with the book without the key anyways, So why even stay and take a chance he would harm me?
I had the key, I had the amulet and the blood.. All that was remaining was this book and that Alter. He moved further in and I stayed by the opening, still contemplating my next move. What do I do? I needed some help with deciding this, but who? No one here but him and myself..

Lance took a small look at her. The poor thing, women never were good in these kinds of situations. Always falling apart, brave and macho one minute, apologizing the next. He shook it off.
"I never said it wasn't easy. Listen, if you're going to let a couple of rumors rule how you do things, then there's going to be a real problem. Didn't you do any research before jumping on this quest? Read any of the old scriptures, the ancient prophets? Homer? He wrote a whole epic about some of the spells in the book. What you've heard off of the streets is nothing compared to what's inside here."
He pushed passed another opening, down a steep straightway. Hundreds of stairs leading down into a vast darkness. Lance could see far enough to continue walking, another small gift for being alive for this long.
"There's a small book, somewhere in the South of Italy I believe, that maps out this cave perfectly, and even a few of the traps that lay hidden. I helped the author a bit, especially with the things inside... you see," he moved passed a corpse that seemed to be there for a few hundred years, " Despite everyone's attempt to get the book, and it's contents, no one has ever made it out of this cave alive."
He shrugged his shoulders," Well, besides me that is."
Was he bragging? No, couldn't be. Had to give a woman some sense of relief though. This wasn't a walk in the park, after all.

Aria

I rolled my eyes, trying hard to hold my tongue. He was pressing buttons though and about to get his head bit off with that attitude. I bit down hard to keep from saying anything as I decended the steps behind him. As it got deeper and darker, I finally switched on my flash light and pointed it down at the stairs.
"I did some research but not many knew even what i was talking about. I've been more busy raising my son then worrying about this book. That was until I found an old book telling of this mythical spell merlyn wrote. That interested me, So I went searching. No harm in that. Watch your step." I said it softly, not daring to command anything, would send him into another tirade. The stairs kept spiralling. Around and around, good thing I wasn't paying too much attention or I might get dizy in this.
"So you've been in and out of here?" I stepped over the dead body, not interested in looking at it in the slightest. The air cooled down considerably in the few feet we had already decended, how much further was it to this book?
"If this book is so dangerous why was it not destroyed before now?" I smart question, definately one that should have been thought about to begin with.
I paused on the steps, shivering a little before moving forward again. He never once turned and looked back to see if I followed, nor did he even seem to care I was behind him. Not many would turn their back on a vampire. Course, I was the harmless one in everyone's mind. I wondered if I should be insulted by that? Stepping over a small stone on one of the steps I kept feeling aprehensive about these traps mentioned. What and where were they? Stopping again I just barely thought of something as my mind went to Micheal.
"Where is Cat? Why aren't you with her Lance?"

Lance stopped for a moment, looking down at the end of the stairs. They ended at a crossroad, one to the left and the other to the right.
"I'm not in the mood to bring up those memories right now. Not something for light conversation, if you understand what I'm saying."
As he reached the edge, he glanced off into the right chasm. The floor was as perfect as glass.
"Here we go, one of the real traps. Watch," he grabbed a small stone, and threw it at the floor. At once, the ground erupted in a splash, and ripples made their way across the floor.
"It's water, well not exactly. Something like water. Something very deadly," he pointed to the other tunnel.
"This way," he said, "As for the book, people have been on quests before, trying to destroy it, but there was always a problem. Those people always began reading the book before they destroyed it, and that's when it got them. After reading a fe of the spells, and the histories behind certain rises to power, it has you hooked. You find it, intent with destorying it, but instead, it destroys you. Which, is why I sealed it in here. After Hitler's near domination of the world, I knew it wasn't in safe hands anywhere except with Robert."
They passed another turn of the chasm, before coming out to a huge long cavern, opening up to the end. On a small pedastal was a leatherbound book. A huge golden emblem on the front.
Lance put his hands on his hips, looking around.
"Funny, I thought we would have met him by now. Robert," he called out," You in here?"
That was definitely odd, "Well, I guess that'll just make this that much more easier."

Maggie

I lay awake most of the night listening for Aria, unsure what would happen when she woke from her sleep. I knew for certain that she had been hurt more deeply than any of us could fathom right now.
Thinking for sure that she would wander the house for days in a state of utter denial, and pain, I let myself drift off to sleep.
Awaking as the first rays of the new day spread their light across the room, I slipped from the bed trying not to wake Ray. I wandered downstairs and into the kitchen, starting coffee before I went in to check on Aria. The house was silent, aside from what little noise I made with the coffee. I paused for a moment and realised something was amiss. Quickly I finished up the coffee and ran to the living room to find that Aria was not there. "Dammit" I muttered under my breath and ran quietly through the house, searching for Aria's room, in hopes that she had awoke in the night and gone to her own bed. To my dismay I found her room and it was empty as well.
I cursed silently, pulled my robe tightly around me and went back downstairs. In the kitchen I poured myself a cup of coffe and went to sit on the couch. Sipping from the cup in my hands, my eyes caught sight of a piece of paper on the floor beneath the coffee table. Setting down my cup I leaned down and retreived the paper. My eyes grew wide and my anger coursed through me like molten lava, when I read the words inscribed on the parchment.
"MY God!" I cursed and surged to my feet. She could not have really left alone, this was a joke had to be. But when i ran out an dfound the suburben gone I knew this was no joke. What the hell was she thinking? She could not be and that I knew. Did she not realise that she was now running the risk of making her son an orphan?
I clenched my fists at my side and lifted my head to the burgandy morning sky "DAMMIT......Aria.........." I yelled. I stood there staring up into the sky, praying that if there was a god he would bring her home to her son alive.

Ray

My eye open as I hear Maggie’s cry from out side I sit bolt up right and I move to the window yanking it open and diving out landing on my feet. I look arund and see her standing seemingly ok. I walk over to her asking “Whets rung my love I don’t even notes the cool wind over my naked body as put my arms arund her. I then notes that the car is gone I growl as I say “She left with out use didn’t she.” I shake my head and she never did tell use where exactly the dam book is so we can’t go after her foolish ass.”

I look down at Maggie sying as I kiss her gently on the lips then say come on theirs nothing we can do but hope she doesn’t get her self killed.” As we walk in to the house I considerate hard sending Aria a mental message “Don’t do anything stooped you three are all I’ve got left and I do not want to loose you. I still love you even if it’s not quite the same.”

Once in side I run up stars jumping in the shower and then I fined my self some clothes. I then go down to the living room finding Maggie sitting drinking her coffee. I sit next to her picking up the note and reading it for my self. I shake my head slowly. I then put it away when her son comes down start rubbing his eyes asking where mommy is. I smile reassuringly and saying “she had to go do some thing but she will be back.” I turn on the T.V. finding some cartoons for him to watch as I pull Maggie closer to me.

Maggie

I said nothing to Ray, just gave him a nod with each question. So angry was I that she could do this, but even more so I was worried that I would not see her again.
Silently I went into the house with him and sat down on the couch. Ray disappeared up stairs and I sat there drinking my coffee and stared at the wall. Thinking back to see if I could remember where she told me we were to go to find the book. The only thing that came to me was Spain, she said something about the coast of Spain. But what good would that do me? To go there and search the entire coast would be nothing less than ludacris.
I sighed deeply as Ray came back in and little Micheal as well. I curled up with Ray as he turned on the tv and found cartoons. Reaching up I whispered in his ear "If she comes back alive I may kill her myself..." I laughed half-heartedly and looked into his face "I cannot even dream of what she was thinking."
Tears welled and threatened to fall, I tried to will them away but to no avail, so I burried my face in his chest to hide them.

Aria

I watched as he tossed the rock, expecting it to bounce off of the rock floor, I was surprised when it didn't?
"Whats..?" He explained what it was. Some kind of trap, a very sly one at that if you thought about it. Wouldn't even know until it was too late and you stepped into it.
I left my question of Cat lie where it was, no reason to dig up the past I guess. I should have guessed the reason they weren't together was because she wasn't alive anymore. I felt his pain, only because mine was to fresh in my mind.
I stuck behind him, close to him as possible, I didn't want to be in one of those traps next.
Everyone knew about Hitler and his extreamities. That guy was not only insane but cruel. And this book had changed him into that power hungry moron? "Whats going to keep you from going power hungry Lance?" I paused a moment, wondering just that. When he kept asking where someone was I had to ask,
"Who's Robert?" I asked quietly behind me. My head was throbbing and I kept getting dizzy spells off and on the further in we walked. "Something's not right.." I halted in my steps, trying to clear my foggy sight so I could see where I was walking. That's when I heard Ray inside my head.
Pausing in mid stride I glanced around to see if he had followed me? But we were here alone, and he couldn't have followed me. I had took all the directions here with me when I left, so that meant either it was an illusion or Ray had opened up his mind?
I smiled a little, he was coming around daily, that was a good sign.
"I am alright Ray, Do not worry over me hun, I will return soon. Take care of Maggie, calm her down. I am almost to the book."
I wasn't sure if he would get it or not, but when I glanced up Lance was a good distance away from me. Walking quickly i hurried and caught up to him until I bumped into his back. I peeked over his shoulder and saw the book laying in the room just ahead of us. Smiling, I walked around him.
Almost there, almost done! Finally! I just wanted to destroy this book and get back to a normal life.. no more crap, no more being hunted or hurt. I walked slowly forward, my own warning in my head forgotten.

I open my eyes as I hear Aria finely respond to my mental message. I stroke Maggie hear as I say “She is ok my love she says she’s almost to the book.” I tilt her head up and wipe the tears away with my thumbs and then I kiss her gently on the lips.” I then close my eyes and send “Be careful you are too important to use for you to get your self killed.”

I then snuggle down on the couch watching bugs bunny fucking with Elmer the fud on T.V. as I hold Maggie close comfortingly.

Lance's hand came out like a snake, grabbing a hold of hers a second before she touched the book. His grip was tight, but only for a second.
"Not that one."
He pointed up, "Look at the ceiling. See how it's not connected to the walls. It's just one big rock, hanging up there... and that is the trigger."
He moved passed the book on it's small pedastal, reaching the end of the cavern, which showed the beginning to another deep long cavern.
"Ray is someone that can better be explained if you see, him, and just pray that you don't get to see him. He was assigned to this by Merlin himself to guard this cave from any intruders. Remember the corpse we just passed? He didn't die of anything natural."
He sighed for a moment, glancing at the long passageway in front of them.
"You only go power hungry if you read the book, which I don't intend to do, and as long as it stays by my side, no one else will be tempted either. I was brought back for one reason, the book. Nothing else matters, not even myself."
Glancing at her shoes, he asking her quite honestly, "How fast can you run?"

Aria

"power hungry? Well I dont plan on even opening that book." I glanced at the trap, weary of even stepping near that book.
"Alright.. Well I can run as fast as I need to and thats pretty damned fast.. Can you keep up?" I smirked a little, being a vampire had it's quirks, like speed and strength.
"Let's just get going please, before something bad happens.. And I dont know this Robert, but I do hope he wont attack us. He should know you right?" I whispered, looking down the next hallway. This place was a maze and very confusing. It was no wonder why not one person before now has retrieved this book and lived to tell about it.

Lance took a second glance at her. An attempt at a joke when they were both about to die. That was nice. Perhaps they should play some charades before they both get brutally killed.
"When I say so, start running. Don't stop, no matter what you hear, or what you see. Just keep running. At the end, there should be three corridors."
He concentrated for a moment. It was the left one wasn't it? Yes, it had to be the left one.
"Robert knows me, of course he does. But, he always knows his orders, and they are to kill anyone who touches the book. Even if it is me, let's just hope he's partolling the southern part of the maze. Someplace I don't ever want to go. There are so many secrets and passageways in this place, it gets confusing after a while. Take the left corridor."
God, he hoped that was right.
Kicking another corpse out of the way, he looking inside the cavern one last time. She could make it... maybe. Well, she had a chance anyway. So long as she didn't fall.
"You ready?"

Aria

He totally missed my smart ass comment. Shaking my head I wanted to wallop him one just for general purposes. Can I run hell, thats like asking if a duck can swim!
"Left? Are you sure?!" God my heart was racing, this was mad! But shit we had no other choice in this, none what so ever!
I nodded, I was more than ready.. I wished briefly I had brought the sword with me for protection against this Robert character.
"Go!" I jumped as he said it and took off running. The corridoor was long and narrow, all I could hear was my own heart beating franticly painfully in my chest and my deep quick breaths of air.
My feet moved faster than I had ever moved before, and as soon as I seen the corridoor to the left I jumped inside and pressed against the wall. I could hear a rumbling somewhere, but I had no idea where it was coming from.
Seconds it seemed but it was less than that I heard Lance coming as well as the rumbling getting louder. What the fuck was that?! At first I thought it was indiana jones type Rocks coming down the long passaway, then I was certain it was water. But was it? Perhaps it was just roaring in my ears as my heart tried to break free of my chest. I glanced quickly left to right, wondering if I was in the right place? was this the left cavern? Fuck I didn't know?! Everything looked identical in this damned place. Pressing against the wall, I prayed silently lance would get his ass in here.

"God Damnit!"
The left corridor was sealed shut. He couldn't see from that distance, but now that he was here, he saw how the middle one was actually the left, and she had jumped in willingly.
Finding the right mark, he dove for the entrance.
He jumped, as the sound of sliding rocks and rubble followed him. Behind him, the rocks were slowly falling in from the ceiling. It was already past the waist high, and getting higher.
He got caught in part of the rubble, but it didn't matter anymore. Brushing the dust from his face and clothing, Lance cursed again and again. This day was just getting bad to worse.
"Listen," he pounded on the right side of the wall, seperating him from her, "Listen carefully. There should be an ancient pulley right next to the cave entrance. If it isn't covered in debris, pull it as hard as you can. That'll stop the rocks."
He did it to his own side, as the rocks and gravel finally let up, allowing him to get himself free of everything. He sat down on the pile, brushing himself off.
"You ok in there?"
If that entrance hadn't completely covered up, she would have air for a couple of hours, but if it didn't...
God, why didn't she just listen to him.

Aria

gulping for air the dust began to rise slowly at first and then it whooshed over my head and strangled my lungs. Coughing, I heard something?
"Lance?!" he was saying something about a pully? I glanced around as quickly as possible, rocks tumbling over my feet. How in the hell did that happen?
"I see it!" I jumped for it, putting all my weight on hte pully and tugging down with all my might. Grunting, I hefted harder and harder, my feet lifting off of the floor as I tugged myself up and the chain down.
Finally the rumbling stopped and I glanced down, I was hanging above about three feet of rock? I glanced around, I couldn't see nor hear Lance for a moment.
"Lance?! Where am I? I went to the Left dammit!" I was a little worried now, what if I was trapped in here? I waved my hand back and forth in the air, coughing a few times, but trying to see the passageway.
"Oh god! It's buried!" I walked forward on the rocks, wobbling a little with each unsecured step. I picked up a rock and hefted it behind me, a few more just fell down in it's place. Growling in frustration, i wouldn't let that detere me! Fucking rocks wouldn't win. I hefted another and another, until finally they stopped falling in on themselves. Panting I called for Lance once more.
"Lance? Can you hear me?" I tried to be quiet and tried to let my voice carry, this was pointless! And fuck if he didn't get me lost! Now I had no idea where I was. Holding my breath I listened intently, thought I heard something on the other side?
