Woven Rings Of Destiny ( Continuation of The Family)

Aria

Nodding I walked up the steps with Talia in tow and knocked on the front door. And elderly looking woman answered and stood to one side.
"May I help you?"
"Yes, we were sent here by the Hotel Owner, Kenneth Cole."
"Do come in I was just gathering my things to leave for when you arrived."
She led the way inside and began pointing out where everything was, as if we couldnt find it, and handing me a set of keys to the town house.
"If that will be all, i will go now.?"
Nodding, the elderly woman left us. Walking past Joseph and giving him a strange look for what was perched on his shoulder.
"Well here is our home away from home for awhile. Let's find some place to freshen up and meet back down in the living room in a few. Sound good Talia?" With her nod, I moved up the stairs with my carry on and Joseph's over my shoulder. Finding the first bedroom, I set everything down and hunted down the bathroom.

Ray

I fallow the other two cars out of the renal parking lot and threw the streets of London. I concentrate on keeping my mined blank not wanting to think of any thing. I pull up behind Joseph’s car watching as they unpack. I look at the house frowning wondering if I wanted to live in such quarters with thaws two.

My eyes move back to the three as the stand talking I look the new girl up and down not knowing what to make of her I sense that she is hart to some how. I shake my head wondering why I should care she’s not family. I get out of my car and walk up to them I take my crate off the top of the car Joseph was driving. I put it up on my shoulder and wait for the one with the key to take the lead.

Joseph

He followed Aria, putting their things down and stretching. Roland started the others in, so he took the cage of bats, and went down to the kitchen. He put Roland down, and opened the cage, cutting fresh fruit and sitting down as he watched the bats eat, squeaking their approval and looking every now and then at their master.

Joseph grinned, and munched himself on an apple as they ate, little flying mammals so closely associated with vampires, and yet, he was the only one he knew of that actually had any.

Aria

I walked upstairs, found something comfortable to wear and changed. Washing my face in the bathroom, I made my way back down stairs.
I glanced into the kitchen to see Joseph chewing on an apple with this bats. Smiling, "I'll be in the living room with Talia when you are done.."
Walking in I sat down and waited for Talia to show up. My thoughts on many things at once. I glanced up and seen Ray in the door way.
"Hey you.. Come on in and have a seat. I've been thinking about some of this information I was given. And I do need to know where to find some of the best libraries around here... Any troubles getting here Ray?" I spotted one of my many bags and reached inside, pulling out some doritos. Munching on them while I thought might help. chuckling at the idea, I waited for Ray to sit down instead of frowning at me.

Talia

Talia walked down the stairs, having changed in to a short leather skirt and a leather tube top. Her hair still was free, flowing down to her exposed waist. around her neck she wore a choker with a petagram sign on it. in one ear she wore a long drop earing with a cat , a cresent moon, a ring and a bat. The other just held a small silver ring.

She looke for all the world, swaying slightly from side to side with the music from her headphones. A Druid chant mixed with a little techno.

Talia sat in the chair closet to the window, and munched on another Jolly Rancher. She was just in time to hear Aria's last comment.

She looked up half in interest at Ray . He had on his otherwise handsome face a frown.

Really and truely she had taken quite an interest in unravelling the mystery of the man with the closed mind and heart, but that was secondary to this one of course.

"We should check the local internet sites for libraries in this area and get an idea of were to start. I doubt we'll find what we want in any of the newer libraries and we will probably have to look in the old dusty archives."

Ray

I put my crate down out of the way and move in to the living room I fined a seat on the opiset side of the room then she is on sit. I look around the room feeling distinctly uncomftabl. As I say in a low emotionless voice “I don’t know why you need me I don’t know any thing about the book or the stone.” I look at her briefly before my eye move away not able to look at her for any length of time with out the pain bubbling up.

Aria

"Yes I want to know as much about this book as possible. And Ray whether you like it or not, you do know something or the old woman wouldn't have told me you were vital to this whole mess. You just don't know exactly what yet and neither do I. We could go get the book tomorrow, I have the directions. But is it cursed? There are many factors in this, and I wont uncover that book for anyone, including myself until I know all there is we can possibly know. Look in mythology and cult websites as well. Someone has some kind of Idea about this book and what it holds. Somewhere.." I fell silent, thinking again. It has dark magic, deeply dark I was certain about that.
"uncovering this book could be a big mistake, then it could be a joke. We need information."

Erika

Her deep honey hair was held in a nice french knot, her cool blue eyes scanned the weaklings walking by on the street. She had a thing for her sword, almost a sexual thing. just holding it made her pussy wet with anticipation of stabbing some blood sucker in the heart. She loved the hunt, the entrapment. Vladamir had told her where to find him, and so she came.......

Exiting the van I glanced around the area. Dark, damp, a storm had been here recently. Looking up at the empty house and vacant drive way I knew my target wasn't home. Shrugging I moved up the stairs, Glancing around to see if anyone was in close range. Seeing no one who would see me, I walked back to the van and pulled out my large duffle bag.

Walking up to the house, I used my strength and twisted the door knob until it broke. Entry was simple for a vampire. Smiling I stepped inside the dark home and sat down in a chair to wait when the "boy" would arrive.

Hours later I heard the squealing tires in the drive way and watched the door as a grown man came storming into the house and pacing furiously back and forth.

"You look a little worn my sweet." My voice purred from the corner, a husky whisper. He stopped in his tracks, looking through the darkness towards me. Peeling my tall frame from the chair, I moved towards him. His eyes trailed up from my heels, bare legs, up to my short leather skirt, over my exsposed middle and up to the tiny haltertop holding in my breasts. Up my long slender neck and over my face lastly.

"Hmm do you like the view?" I leaned against the wall between the entry way and the living room. Steele didn't know what to think of this woman in his home, I could see that clearly.

Joseph

He stepped into the room, feeding the large Livingstone's fruit bat perched on his shoulder a tidbit of fruit. He looked around at everyone, and looked at the bat, who squeaked. "My thoughts exactly Roland. Why wouldn't they ask the guy who did research on the book before going off to libraries whose oldest works will barely mention the book in passing. I surely don't know."

He sat down next to Aria, nodding towards Ray a moment. He watched him, then sighed. "Ray, how's life been treating ya? It's good to see you again, man. You look,...well, you look terrible. Where's Maggie?"

He scratched Roland's head, letting the bat wander off as he immersed himself in the conversation. The large bat climbed it's way across the furniture, lauching itself into the air and flying over to Talia, where in grabbed onto the chair she was in while flying by. Crawling around, the bat began to examine the stranger.

Ray

My eyes go blank at Joseph's question and I say in a dead voice “She left after I was healed and I haven’t seen or herd form her since.” I pos then say “I thought to go after her but thought better of it she left for a reason and nothing I could do would change that, I just wish she tolled me why.” I shake my head looking at him then away agene looking out a window not wonting to talk anymore.

Talia

talia watched as the large bat made it's way over to her. Seemingly unperturbed she place another candy into her mouth and stared the bat in it's eyes.

"Batty batty batty batty" she sang to the tune of that old sesame street song.

She was careful not to make any sudden moves towards the bat and concentrated on finding her abrings mentaly.

Her inner self had been in such turmiol. memories came flooding back and their impact cause her eyes to cloud over slightly.

"This book, can be a dangerous tool, I had talked to an old friend of mine, who warned that the book was more trouble than good. He was not a vampire however and died 400 years ago tomorrow."

Her voice shook slightly.

"Why do you want to seek this book Aria?" she asked carefully, realising she hadn't done so before. "Why is it so important"

As she asked she reached one small hand out to the bat, as a sign of light friendship. Not sure what would occur but not afraid either way of the consequences.

Aria

I glanced at Joseph and pinched him hard, warning him with my eyes not to mention that again! Maggie would arrive soon enough and perhaps be able to explain better to Ray her reasons.
"Joseph, do tell us what you know to be true or rumor..." I knew he knew something, he had mentioned it before but it had slipped my mind.
I looked over at Talia. "This book is supposed to reverse this vampirism."

Maggie

I sat at the table in my parents home, a glass of wine in one hand and the NewYork Times in the other. Granted it was early morning and normally I would be drinking coffee but this was a moment for celebration.
I read over the article in front of me once again, "Mike Wilkinson was found dead this morning by his maid. The NYPD have ruled this a murder-suicide, he was found dead in his bed, his girlfriend on the floor, bullets in both their heads." I grinned wickedly, it had been so much fun getting to know his girlfriend and using her against him. I don't think I could have planned it any better.
My smile faded as I thought of what I had left behind to take vengence on Mike for what he did to me, and what he had done to my parents after I left for New Orleans. I knew once I found Ray again I had some serious explaining to do, and no garantee that he would still love me after all this time. But it was my only hope, that he still loved me, and I would hang on to that till the very end.
I took a long drink from the wine and set it back on the table, discarding the newspaper as well and picked up the telegram that had been delivered. It was from Aria, telling me of a search she had begun, and at some point would need my help. Though she wasn't sure what it was she would need me for, and I couldn't imagine either, but the plans were set. I was going to London to meet Aria and help in whatever way I could.
I had just finished with my brother and my father's attorney, settling the last papers and things of Mom and Dad's will. My brother Mathew took the house and one quarter of the savings, and I took the last three quarters of the savings. It was all I wanted and needed and the house is what Mathew needed for his family.
The time had come, the cab's horn sounding out in the silence. I rose and hugged my brother "You take good care of this family of yours, and remeber your goal...to be the best father you can be." I released him and hugged each one of the rug rats and my sister-in-law and headed out the door. This was going to be a long trip, but wouldn't be all that bad with all the details in order. Within the hour I was sitting in first class and drinking coffee waiting for departure....

Joseph

He watched Talia and his bat. "Don't worry about Roland, there, he doesn't bite. Raised him from birth. Livingstone's fruit bat, largest type of bat on the planet. Six foot wing span, ya know. He's really quite friendly, seems to have taken a likin' to you."

He smiled, and turned to Aria. He gave a shrug of his shoulders, and sat back, looking up before closing his eyes. After a moment of pulling his memory back through the years, he said: "Well, back when I was in the Bloodguard, the major vampire killing system of about 1700 years ago, they collected most of the books on things of magic and vampires. The two things they were sworn to destroy. Even back then, Merlyn was ancient history. Merlyn was a carrion eater, a vampire that kills by taking a single drop of blood. They were more rare than us, and lead by a group of five, when they got together. Four men, including Merlyn, and one woman. All of them had the gift,...magic. Merlyn wasn't the strongest, but he wasn't the weakest by far. The Black Book was a collection of the most powerful spells they knew. It could make us all human, or turn us back to carrion eaters. They have spells to summon demons, and give special powers for a limited time. It can be used to make crops grow, to ensnare the mind,...and a few forces said it had the power to,....wait, let me translate,....'And behold, for the power to release the fires of Hell upon the world are written in the Black Book, which is guarded by the vampric Sons of Satan, and their mistress, the Dark Mother, whom from all evil spawns'."

Felix

The wind sighed through the abandoned station, rippling the pages of torn, deserted magazines in the waiting room. It made Felix's jacket flap like the wings of a bat as he moved down the old railway track.

He closed his eyes and leant against the old platform for a moment. His head pounded. He felt both cold and too hot at the same time, and there was a sick feeling deep in his stomach. He needed to feed, it had been too long since he'd drank from the woman at the station, but the very thought of drinking blood made him want to vomit.

Felix wearily pushed himself away from the support of the platform and continued to move. He had no time to be sick. He had to move faster than the heretics, find this cursed Book and destroy it.

He strode through the dead machines to the surface.

Erika

"What? No comments?"
"Who are you and why are you here?" Steele's voice demanded.
"A friend."
"bullshit."
"Well how about someone sent me here to 'hire' you?" I came back with.
"What for?"
"My boss needs you, and only you."
"Why? And who the fuck are you?"
"I said I am here for one reason and one reason only. Your mother is the key, or was until her untimely death. Now you are the key and Vlad won't take no for an answer."
"Look lady, I dont know this Vlad, or what it has to do with my dead mother, but I am not interested." He turned his back to me to open the door I was sure, and push me out it.
I moved up behind him and with a nice little hit to the head he went down.
"Now, I dont think you heard me right Steele. You ARE coming with me." I checked him carefully, he was out cold. He must be weak and haven't fed for awhile to be so easily knocked out. Didn't matter, made my job a shit load easier.
I walked to my bag and pulled out the shackles and mannacles. Attaching them to his ankels and wrists, I then gagged him, placed a hood over his face and stepped back smiling.
It was a good thing I had leathers on my hands. That silver chain would keep him slightly weaker than normal, and he wouldnt give me any shit.
I walked to the door and whistled. Out from the back of the van stepped Chad and Kirk. "Take him, load him up and let's get going to the airfield. We've got a long flight ahead of us."
They hefted Steele and carried him out to the van. Climbing in the driver seat, I quietly as I arrived left.
We had a private plane waiting for us and an ocean to cross tonight, I was in no hurry just yet. There was alot more to be done first.

ooc: lord Kenshin said to control his character for now until he returns, so I am.

Aria

"What I do not understand in all of this, is why would they desire to become like we are now? Killing with one drop? Was it they wished to stop killing the human's? Did they want to feed more and drink more to gain strength? I do not understand this part of it. Why would they desire, or write a spell that changed what they were? Isn't is the same as we are now Joseph?"

Joseph

"Actall, they were split on the issue. Some thought how they were was chosen by God. Others wanted to be normal humans. Others wanted not to kill. Mostly, they were wretched. They saw themselve as cursed. They hadofed morethan us. About once a night. They were weaker than us, but stronger than humans. They hid in the shadows, and saw humans as superior. It was a pitched batle. Three of the thers were against Merlyn, and their leader, the female, disappared when it started breaking out. Merlyn changed us to what we are now itorder o sae us from having to feed as often, or from killing. It's very in depth, and hard to explain really...."

Talia

Talia listened closely to Joseph's information. She shivered slightly at the thought and stroked Roland's head.

"A powerful tool, the power to cause total havoc, or to bring peace." Talia sighed looking out the window once more. "Very confusing

Her voice had taken a far away tone as if she had pulled away from the proceedings.

She removed her headphones from her ears and took out her cell phone, rising to her feet she excused herself for a moment and went to make a quick call.

When she returned, her face held a grim cast and her eyes were sheilded once more.

"So what exactly are we trying to acheive here?" she asked in a monotone..the short conversation seemed to have disturbed her. She hoped no one noticed overmuch and wondered at her sudden agitation.

Aria

"Well....." I stopped in my explanation. She was acting funny, but why?
"Talia, what is bothering you?" I was not going to go into much detail in this if this woman was foe instead of friend.
"Why don't you have a seat and tell us about yourself, unless of course you have something to hide?"
I sat back, appearences said I was relaxed, but I was tensed up and waiting for something out of the ordinary to happen here. She was antsy and upset and I could sense it in her as if she had it written on her forehead.

Steele

Steele awoke slowly, shaking his head as he immediately noted the steel shackles and mannacles. He groaned, wondering where he was and why he was here. He shook his head, trying to get the hood off so he could at least see his captors, though the hood was soundly put in place, held by a soft velvet cord.

"Whrrrr.... " Was all he managed, frowned as he bit down on the gag.

A small wave of fear washed over Steele, wondering if this had anything to do with last night and the strange vampires he had happened to come in contact with. He cursed himself for going out that night, for even being a vampire. He continued to think all this through in his head, sitting quietly in the vehicle as it ran bumpily along the road.

Erika

Parking the van outside of the old building, I had my two 'helpers' carry in the package. For tonight they would rest since it was almost dawn, and frankly that nasty sun hurt my eyes. Then tomorrow off to where Vladamir said to take Steele.
I felt like a fuckin' errand girl. Do this, do that. He's lucky I didn't just kick his ass once in awhile for the hell of it.
Too bad he did that thing with his tongue... Otherwise he might not be living. Stubborn men.
Grumbling I walked up the stairs behind Chad and Kirk.
"Place him in the bedroom ajoining mine. Keep his shackled and strap him to the bed. I do not need him getting away!" I knew the silver would hold him in a weakened condition. It brought back memories of the time I held Lance this same way.
Sighing, I walked in behind them as they deposited Steele onto the bed and cuffed his links to it. Smiling I instructed them to remove his hood.
Kirk bent down and untied the hood, pulling it off the man's head. I met Steele's eyes as the hood was removed.
"Thank you Kirk, Chad. Go get something to eat and rest.. Tomorrow is going to be a long day." I watched the two men file out of the room, leaving me with Steele.
"Hello there handsome.. Betcha anything you are wondering what this is all about aint ya?" I smiled, walking over to the bed. Shedding my black jacket over the chair as I made my way to the bed, I climbed on it and proceeded to climb over Steele.
Smiling I sat down over his lap and looked down at the gag.
"Tsk tsk.. this will never do.. Now if you promise to be a good boy and not bellow at me, i will remove the gag.. If you yell just once, I will use something else to quiet you. Deal?"

Talia

Talia blinked slowly and faced Aria.

"I was the daughter of a Scottish peasant. His name was Ian and my mother's name was Talia, just like mine. I was born, as you can tell around my seventeenth birthday" Already her voice held a note of pain

"My creator, was a very old vampire, well considering the time now, yes I would say that he was very old. I don't remember his name or who he was but he took me away from my family and carried me around with him. Many other vampires were afraid of him. They seemed to be genuinely afraid of him, something I couldn't understand and still don't. I will admit however he was extremely ruthless, he killed for fun and he did it well. Other vampires that is"

Talia spoke softly her eyes misting with tears.

"I met a vampire named Roland about 1000 years into my captivity with this Master. For that what it was I was his little slave doing his bidding, committing murders of other vampires or doing mundane jobs of fetching the groceries, or warming his bed"

Talia paused again breathed deeply then started again.

"Roland treated me in a way that I had never been treated before. He held my hand and whispered softly to me. We fell in love with in 3 hours of meting and we began to sneak away together at times. Then a problem arose, the next vampire I was supposed to take out turned out to be none other than Roland himself. "

"How could I ? And my Master found out and made me watch as 5 of his best men took Roland apart limb-by-limb, joint from joint, bone from bone. Then he turned on me. He beat me badly and afterwards when I was barely recovering I found out that I had been pregnant for Roland, but not surprisingly the child had been lost."

"I escaped from my Master after that, or I should say he let me. I traveled to the other side of the globe and joined Dante. Who is as cocky as he is rich. "

"What just occurred is that I called Dante to check on him, he is like my son sometimes, a small boy in need of care. He seemed fine but when I asked him for Tommy one of our friends, I was informed that he was missing" Talia sighed softly.

"I'm just afraid that my Master wants me back, that is all" Talia smiled her but it seemed dim and unreal.” Is there anything else you wish to know? I am beginning to feel feint for some reason"

Joseph

"Hmm? Your master? Well, if your master was old, at least 1000 years ago, he's dead now. I'm the third oldest, I'd say, and I'm only a little older than 2000.Only Vlad and Cat are older than I, if Cat's still alive. Went into hiding after that Lance incident, and I can't say I blame her. Of course, Lance was one dark son of a bitch. Can't say I'm sorry he's gone. Anyway, it's very nice to meet you. I feel for your pain, but I can't say I understand how you feel."

He shrugged, and sat back, looking around at everyone. "Okay, I'd like to say something. The book, I read a little on a few quests to get it, seems it's kept sealed tight. Magic, traps, a few nasty little surprises lying all around. And when I say nasty, I mean long, painful deaths. Well, I'm going to go get some sleep. I suggest everyone else do to."

Standing, he stretched, and left, heading for bed.

Talia

Talia smiled a little but siad nothing as he headed off. She still was not so sure...but he seemed so certain..her master was old to her, not meaning he was an ancient like Joseph or Vald. He had been 200 years older than her...but she didn't bother to explain that.

She was not at all stung by his mood, she rathered it to people who tend to try to give false sympathy.

"Goodnight " she told him...staring out the window.."I'll stay here for a while"
