Following an internet white rabbit today I hopped from an renewed interest in Harlan Ellison to an interview he did with a TVO program (TVOntario, a Canadian Public Broadcasting station) for a show I had forgotten I practically grew up on in the 80’s and helped foster my interest in writing called Prisoners of Gravity. They interviewed many writers, actors, directors etc. mainly in the sci-fi, speculative fiction and comics arena, but not always exclusively. Fascinating, educational but also personable interviews.
Most episodes can be found on YouTube. I’ve included a current (3 yrs ago) interview with the co-creator Rick Green to give you an idea of the format, structure and origins of the show, as well as 2 of my favourite episodes, one with Harlan Ellison and another with the creators of Watchmen.

Please feel free to post links to your favourite writers talking about their works and/or writing!

There's an interview Ed Greenwood did for Campfire Writing where he went on about how he started out the Forgotten Realms when he was just a kid before it expanded into a huge world that makes Brandon Sanderson blush.

...if you're thinking about the real life Elminster dating Brandon Sanderson after this, don't hold back in writing that story.

The podcast Writers on Writing has been around since something like 2005. The two women behind it interview writers, agents, and editors (maybe more) and focus on the business of writing, but the life and times of the writers they interview and their methods also figure in. I listened to 50+ episodes while driving to and from work, and I'd recommend it to anyone who's curious about writing and the business of writing, including the nitty-gritty how-tos.

My only complaint was that they lean toward writers who approach the business through academics. Many of their guests start with MFAs. Some of the more academic writers (mostly professors) got a little tedious. I didn't notice that until I came across one of their interviews with a writer who transitioned from a BA in English and a career selling sporting equipment to writing mystery novels reminiscent of Mickey Spillane's Mike Hammer stories. His had a completely different approach, and the interview went in refreshing directions.

You can find the podcast on a lot of different outlets. Just google it. I think their entire catalog is available.

David Perell interviews a ton of fiction and non-fiction writers on his "How I Write" YT channel:

Here's one with Adrian Tchaikovsky (Children of Time):
His interviewees are terrifying bright - quite disheartening, but then it's easy to flip channels. The Robert MacFarlane interview was great and I've been stealing his ideas ever since.
