X-Men: A Bright New World (OOC)

Edited the Kitty post, to *ADD* in the Jean communication which I initially had forgotten to in the first place! Phew. Juggling can be tricky sometimes! ;)

...upon Miss "AnyOtherName's" hopeful, and eventual return from her 'sickness' -- she's on the mend, albeit slowly last I heard!(no rush*hugssssssss!*) -- I'm sure her first priority in this thread will be Laura/X-23 before Kitty. But it looks like we're soon to be green lit.....perrrrrrrhaps....for a 'merge' of some sort.

Will it do ANYone, ANY good? That remains to be seen! Ahahhaha. ;)

And "KattDclaw". Goddammit! You. Hahahahahha. You know what's funny everyone? The super hero genre, isn't "really" her thing. It's not her 'forte', of sorts. I'm not calling her out. Just the opposite. I'm praising her, at her expertise. Which is her amazing writing. Like the rest of you. Because when you're THAT good -- I mean thaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat *looks for the measuring tape!**fumble**mumbles* -- well....it doesn't matter what you DO or DON'T "like". It's going to show anyway, anywhere. Her passion for the character. Each and every time. Loved the delusion. Well I *LOVED* the whole damn thing to pieces, you....crazy....maniac! Heheh. Wikipedia references? That inner dialogue -- and you mentioned the dancing chicken too!! Ahahaha!

*stops*

...anyhow. I don't even know what's next for my writing. But until next week....(writing wise that is!) :)

Okay...my weekend officially began this morning, so I will reread the latest and post something new either later tonight or sometime tomorrow.

Looks like both characters are getting into interesting situations...Madrox possibly more so than Sam, at the moment. hehehe

Sounds fantastic "Remec"!

My next days off are Monday + Wednesday. I believe the Rogue scenario is on deck, followed by...the arcade situation...

Oh. And a 'last' potential participant. (hint -- not another gal! we needed s'more testosterone in here! hehe)

;)

Such praise previously. And to think I didn't even know who the X-men were till last week.

More sausages Lach, need moar sausages.

Funny girrrrl! ;)

And yeeeah..*grilling some weiners* what's everyone like for condiments -- cheese, ketchup, mustard, relish...or....just...plain-jane....burnt to the crisp??

*mayyy have some major SPRING FEVER!**grin*

Posting up the approved Iceman. Wolverine is in the works.

Name: Robert “Bobby” Louis Drake

Alias: Iceman

Sex: Male

Height: 5’8”

Weight: 145 lbs

Hair: Brown

Eyes: Brown

Age: 21

Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual

Place of Birth: Port Washington, Long Island, New York

Current Nationality: U.S.A.

Known Relatives: William Robert Drake (father), Madeline Beatrice Bass Drake (mother), Mary (cousin), Joel (cousin), and Anne (aunt).

Current Occupation: Snowboarder and Olympic Figure Skater

Current Place of Residence: Xavier Institute for Gifted Youngsters

Hobbies: Snowboarding and always experimenting with his powers. Whenever he isn’t working, Drake can be found recording himself taking on downhill slopes in the mountains and uploading his videos onto Youtube for his growing fans and subscribers.

Origin of Powers: Breed Mutant

Strength Level: Human strength with regular exercise. Varies with how he performs feats with his mutant skill.

Powers: Iceman is able to lower his external and internal body temperature without harm to himself, thereby radiating intense cold from his body. Iceman is able to reach -105 degrees Fahrenheit within a few seconds, and is immune to subzero temperatures around him. In addition, Iceman can freeze any moisture in the air around him into unusually hard ice, and thereby form simple objects such as slides, ladders, shields, bats, etc. He has even shown the ability to achieve absolute zero temperatures, and is able to stop the molecular motion of a bomb. Iceman can augment his ice form with extraneous moisture to enhance his strength and durability, and can reshape his body's ice form at will by using any available moisture from his surrounding environment. Similarly, Iceman can rebuild his ice form if any part of it is broken or if it is shattered completely without suffering any permanent damage.

Unusual Features: None

Appearance: Image One Image Two Image Three Image Four

Personality: Drake is like ice not that he’s cold but transparent and thus is a horrible liar and can be honest to the point that it gets him into trouble. He accepts the fact that he is a mutant, but sympathizes with those mutants who are unable to walk among the humans like he can. He has a good sense of humor and can be seen as a clown even in dire situations. Drake knows when it’s time to be serious, but his bravery is what leaves the door open for wise-cracks, silly remarks, and puns. He is a “cool” young man and is very laid-back. At times, he often finds himself as the go-to-guy. Why? Well, no go-to-guy ever knows why. It just happens.

He isn’t exactly aloof, but he tends to do things in which he feels must be done, which are usually in his self-interest. A fear of Drake’s is going too far with his powers or tapping into a part of his ability, which causes something drastic to happen that he can’t undo. This is what makes him feel self-conscious about his gift. Therefore, he would be afraid to try to do something he hasn’t already tried or practiced doing if the situation called for his attempt.

On a social standpoint, Drake often times has a likable personality but that just depends on how others clash with his sense of humor. He likes to lighten tension among other members, although hypocritically, if drama ever concerned him he couldn't take his own advice. As far as female members go, if they aren't careful, Iceman can prove to be rather slick, but he has yet to have one successful relationship.

History: [In a nutshell] Bobby Drake was discovered by Charles Xavier when he was performing in the Winter Olympic games. Without the aid of Professor Xavier, they may not have ever suspected the winter athlete to be a mutant and may have found his skills on ice and snow simply extraordinary. The mutant has been very careful with concealing his little secret, and has since opted to help his new friends any way that he can.

All I can see is the banana hammock in the second picture.

I look away and then realize that I really didn't look away. It's like those creepy eyes in paintings that follow you around the room. WHY IS IT STARING AT ME?!

I mean, Welcome.

Heh.

Please help welcome "HotCider" to the mix gang. It's true, the fun lovin' Iceman has come! :)

I added him to the roster for both threads by the way, and will look to 'introduce' him via the thread come tomorrow as well!

Thanks gang. Glad to have you with us bud!

Wolverine

Name: James "Logan" Howlett

Alias: Wolverine

Sex: Male

Height: 5'3"

Weight: 225lbs

Hair: Brown

Eyes: (Alternate Reality) Blue

Age: Unknown, assumed over 200 years old at this point. (memory loss)

Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual

Place of Birth: Alberta, Canada

Known Relatives: Unknown

Current Place of Residence: New York

Hobbies: Cigars, Booze, Traveling, Hunting, Camping, Redheads and Asians.

Origin of Powers: Breed Mutant

Strength Level: Human Maximum. Able to lift (press) 800 lbs.

Powers:

Regenerative Healing Factor
Superhuman senses, strength, agility, stamina, reflexes, and longevity
Retractable bone claws
Elongated and sharp canines
Expert martial artist, spy, and tactician

Unusual Features: Logan possesses elongated canines like an animal.

Appearance:

Image One Image Two Image Three Image Four

Personality: Logan is used to being alone, he prefers it as people who get too involved with him end up dead or hurt because of him. Despite his constant scowl across his face, he does have moments of softness however rare they may be and their duration normally short-lived. Tough love describes him best. Only when the scent of blood fills his nostrils and his claws come out does he fall into his true element, a feral beast on the field with the mental capacity to command an army if needed. He struggles with an inner demon that comes as he loses himself to rage at which point he becomes a whirlwind of devastation. Wise-cracks, quips, sarcastic remarks, and a frank attitude make him a hard friend to have, but those who manage to win his friendship and respect have a friend for life.

History: [In a nutshell]Logan’s past is all but forgotten and tends to return to him in his dreams. He has dreamt of being a soldier in World War II and as a samurai in Japan. Were these actualities? He has no idea, but with his current memory, he is aware of his longevity. Unbeknownst to Logan, while a POW in Japan during the Second World War, the radiation he was exposed to from the nuke the United States had dropped, had introduced him to a harmful dose of radiation poisoning. It doesn't affect him physically due to his mutant ability. However, mentally, it is believed to be the cause of his deteriorating memory.

He was recruited personally in a bar by Charles Xavier, after the young man had witnessed his brutality in an underground fight. His fight name had been “The Wolverine,” and he has since accepted it as his alias.

Writer’s Comments: I have left Logan’s history vague for the purpose of keeping it open for plot ideas. There have been new writers cycling in and out of this game and some may want to have past relations with this long-lived character. I’m leaving that open to possibility as well as for any future plots the GM may want to throw our way.

/me gives the first new Wolvie's post a big bright gold star

I was waiting for that. It's about damn time. The writer in me loves it, the kid in me loves the frosted side.

Added Wolverine to the roster as well!

Great post "HotCider" -- loved it. ;)

All (but most especially those interacting with Logan at the Chinatown Fair arcade in Lower Manhattan, NY) -- from here on out and in honoring "HotCider's" character profile....we're going to go ahead with Wolvie being a lil' taller. (re: see his bio linked on the first page) So he may not be "short and stout" as before. Still older though. I'm GM-allowing it, so we'll roll with it. And carry on.

I'm happy to have someone passionate and talented enough to take up the mantle for the character -- in mid swing -- as it were! :)

Wait...

So you're God Modding it :O?

Someone call the GM!!!

Oh wait...

Never mind ;)

Luv ya XD

And welcome surprisingly warm beverage that one would expect to be cold...
*eyes suspiciously*

...*pokes Miss "tight_n_ready" in the tummy, affectionately* Yeah, yeah's. But me thinks, you may have -- *points to the post he just made, for HER* -- more IMPORTANT things to be concerned with...

Just sayin'....hehe ;)

Anyhow, I'll see what I can manage on Wednesday. Now I gotta scurry off and do.....IRL....nonsense! *grin*

Remec, did you have a notion as to how you wanted to post as Sam or should I go ahead as Kurt and attempt to muddle through?

Hey everyone! Sorry I didn't give an update in the OOC sooner, I prefer to message Lach directly with the excuses for my absence...

Anywho! I will have a post up for Laura on or before Thursday and something for Kitty this weekend.

And...

Welcome HotCider! I very much enjoyed your first post~ :D

I won't contest the GM-approved change of Wolverine's height but I have to admit that it makes me a little sad. Or maybe a lot sad. Don't mind me too much, though: I simply prefer shorter men.

...I don't really understand how height relates to charisma score, though. But. Whatever justification floats your boat; I'm not interested in sparking a debate. I just hate to see the short charmers out there denied one of their stats.

Hey thanks everyone,

The height change doesn't have to be permanent. It was just something I did because I thought people were going to imagine him taller any way when I play him. They usually do. I blame Hugh Jackman.

But we'll see how it goes. It's not like it changes the storyline or anything.

You're right: it doesn't change the story. And, really, it's not an issue. I simply couldn't stop myself from babbling about the love for short guys.

:rose:

Yes, let's blame Hugh Jackman~

Glad to have you as a part of the thread and I look forward to writing with you!

How dare you change height arbitrarily! And how dare Lach just let people change things...like height...or gender...or...

/me shifty eyes.

I actually think Hugh is one of the *FEW* bright spots for the FOX-massacre of movies, but...I've long been...heh. A lil' nitpicky on my favorite, merry band of mutants on the big screen...

...when "I" personally think of Wolverine, it's the "short and stout" way as well -- sans the comic -- and the ONLY reason it would make any difference in the story...is because he's been that way the whole time....up until the time you took over "HotCider"...y'see?

...either way, I'm accommodating as I said. So there's that. ;)

And welcome back Miss "AnyOtherName"!!! :))))) *peeks around for Miss "SinisterSpiders" as well, knowing she's been itching for some Jean love's!*

...just about 'full family' in here again, sweeeeeet deal! *smilesss!*

*turns to "KattDclaw"* ever seen Mallrats? Don't make me change KattPool into a three breasted 'fortune teller' -- 'cause THAT would be awfully *frightful*!

;)

Look, I can gladly change him back seeing how nobody has a problem with imagining him taller. I haven't even mentioned his height in the story so it's no problem. He's 5'3" by the way. But I'll edit it. There's no going back after this. I'm not changing him back.

Dammit. Yer gonna ruin my height joke later on. Won't somebody think of the comedy!!!
