Rogue

"I did," I replied with a roll of my eyes. "We lost lava-butt somewhere on the way in. Wizard and Deadhand got seperated from my via a large firegate. Re-joined with Deadhand. Wizard found the control room and dumped anti-fire foam on everything, making it slippery."

I round housed a zombie and went on, "Then he hit the water system, so we got rained on, which took care of most of the slipperyness. Then Deadhand ran off heaven knows where, I guess he found Wizard."

I broke another zombie over my knee and hurled it to growing pile by the door. "And now you're here, I 've no idea where they are and that's where I'm at. You?"

~He spun around his staff using it like a pole and kicked a zombie away.~

You covered in Foam and water and I missed it? Demn knew I should have gotten here quicker.

~He then swung the staff at its full length and toppled another zombie, before ducking and going low tripping up a few others.~

Well, lets see...~He grabbed the wrists of a zombie amd noticed a necklace on its neck. The glow returned to his eyes and then lept out to charge the necklace. A roundhouse kick into a group of Zombies and an explosion later sent a few flying in all directions.~

I saw the news reports about the Professor. Got a visit from an old friend who told me you were in trouble deep.

~Again he swung his staff knocking a few more zombies down and out~

Caught a plane to France. Met up with Psylocke when she arrived, caught a plane to Germany, stole a motorcycle, and here I am.

~He took a few more darts from his coat and hurled them into the mass of zombies knocking them everywhere with the blast~

Should we go see if your team needs help or are we to assume dat they got out and high tail it outta here, Cher?

Rogue

"Gimme a moment," I said, figeting with my communicator. Wizard's unit was moving further away. "I guess the boys found a safe way out. In that light, lets get the heck outta dodge. I could kill for a shower right about now."

~He again used a few charged darts to get them some space, then scanned around them for a vehicle that Rogue, his mutant powers, or zombies hadn't destroyed. He finally found a small compact car and walked over to it.~

Cover me ladies and I'll have us on the road right quick....

~He slid into the seat and took out his theif's tools unfolding the bundle on the passenger seat. From the bundle he took a pick and another instrement. A few turns and the engine of the car came to life. He wrapped up his tools and put the car in reverse, plowing over a few zombies as he got to the girls.~

Your chariot awaits ladies....

Rogue

I nearly pushed Psylocke into the car, saying "Go, I'll cover you till we get to clearer ground."

As Remy gunned the car forward, I used the ax to sweep zombies from the car's sides. The ax caught in one and I had to land to free it. A pair of zombies body slammed me as I freed the ax, nearly knocking me down, those strange palm-mouths ripping at my suit.

A curse and wiggle that scraped my now exposed thigh against the concrete and I was free, flying to land on the roof of my car. I touched a hand to my thigh, coming away with traces of blood.

My eyes narrowed as I glared at the offending zombies but I stayed with the car, flying just above it to keep it clear until we were away from the campus.

~As soon as Betsy landed in the seat and Rogue shut the door and yelled to Get, Gambit hit the gas and put the car on a course away from the lab. He watched in the rearview mirror as the Rogue delt with the zombies that were gaining, and when she was tackled to the ground, he slammed on the brakes and got his foot out the door, his eyes glowing as he held a dart in his hand. Seeing that Rogue got free, he got back into his seat and hit the gas before even slamming the door.

The thump on the roof told him that Rogue had landed and was safe, but the blood dripping from the opening in the window of the car onto his coat alarmed him.~

You alright, Cher?

Rogue

"I'll be okay," I said, wincing as I pulled a length of gauze from my pack and wrapped my thigh, hoping to stop the bleeding. "Will need to get to a place where I can clean up though. I don't want to get an infection from one of those things."

Without waiting to see if Dead Hand had taken off or injected Wizard with the cure, Cable shouldered Sabertooth's unconscious form and took off running. He would have a lot of work to do, and little time to do it. He had to make Sabertooth understand what was at stake, and get him to wound the kid enough to release the virus into Sabertooth's body, where the accelerated healing would create an antibody that could be replicated and stored, just in case Sinister tried again. Cable had no idea how to kill Sinister, and didn't feel up to trying anyways. Bodysliding suddenly, Cable dropped Sabertooth at the very cabin the giant had been staying at, unaware that Rogue, Gambit, and Psylocke were headed the same direction.

Dead Hand had took off the moment things seemed to start going his way. He had caught a syringe that Cable had tossed his way, but concentrated on his running.

Had to get somewhere the zombie wern't

Bursting through a door, Dead Hand saw his escape from the building - an unbarred window. Cursing to himself that he knew it was going to hurt, he took a running leap at the window, smashing through and landing outside unceramoniously.

Groaning, he rubbed his head as he sat up. No zombies to the left, none to the right. Safety! Breathing a sigh of releif, he pulled out the syringe and crawled over to Wizard.

"This is going to sting a bit kid"

He jabbed the needle into one of Wizard's veins and pressed the plunger down. Hopefully it wouldn't be long before the currier arrived. As a final act of secrecy for his employer, however, Dead Hand pulled off Wizard's tracker and stached it in his pocket

As the syringe emptied, Wizard's skin darkened a bit, before going back to its normal color. Dead Hand could have almost seen the liquid working its way through his bloodstream, spreading throughout his system. It would take several days to fully take effect, and Cable had figured either Sabertooth, Lady Deathstryke, or Wolverine would have to be there, to breathe in the initial outpouring of the supervirus before the cure fully neutralized it.

Dark Beast, Fatale, Emplate

"Dead Hand to The Chief! Package collect - NOW!"

The Dark Beast listened to the communication device Fantomex had left him.

He looked at Fatale and nodded and after a pink flash of light surrounded them within moments they stepped through the light and arrived right behind Deadhand.

McCoy's eyes went wide when he looked at Wizard and saw that Deadhand was injecting him with something.

"WHAT IS THIS!? WHAT ARE DOING!!!?" he screamed as he knealed down beside im.

Dead Hand stood up and stepped back.

"Nothing fatal I'd wager. Besides, I knocked the kid out, abducted him, and put in the call. There was no stipulation of his condition other than 'alive'. Anyay. Jobs done and contract complete, so I'm getting the hell outta this town"

Dead Hand rubbed the back of his head as he scanned around for something to make his escape with.

"Besides, from what I hear, it's something you can sort out"

Shadowcat

Kitty tapped the communicator “ Hi, is anyone there…” That’s strange she thought to herself… what’s going on. She started to get a little worried. She should have got a reply by now.
“We should be there soon, its probably nothing.”

Kitty switched on the radio. Flipping through the stations she found a news show talking about mutants. Kitty rolled her eyes, it was another mutant bashing segment. She was about to switch the channel when she heard the man mention an attack at a grocery store by the X men, and all of the damage caused. Kitty’s jaw dropped. “You go away for a few days, and we start attacking people in the dairy section.” She looked over at Lockheed who was now standing on the seat with his ears perked up. The radio began to talk about the arrests made in response to the attack, but it was very vague and didn’t mention names.

“We have to get home and find out what’s going on.”

Kitty pulled the car on to the school grounds. Signs of a fight were everywhere. Kitty felt her heart drop to her stomach. She should have known that the arrests would happen here. Kitty pulled the car over and decided to walk the rest of the way to the school. “Come on Lockheed lets go.” She thought he would ignore her, after she had left his image inducer collar at home that makes him look like a housecat, that would have allowed him to come in to the interview. But he hopped out of the car and followed close beside her.

Her heart was pounding in her chest as she started to see the school. She couldn’t see anyone yet, friend or foe, so she decided to make her way slowly towards the front doors, keeping close to the trees as best she could.

Dark Beast

"For your sake it had better be!" McCoy said to Deadhand as he violently motioned for Emplate.

The mutant put his hands to the side of Wizards face and clenched down his teeth into his veins and began to secrete fluids into the mutants body. McCoy pulled out a syringe full of the same vaccine he injected into Storm and began to inject it into Wizard.

Fatale watched curiously.

"I don't understand. Why do we cure them of Emplates malevolent control and influence? Wouldn't it be better to have the X-Men under our control?"

"Would it be better if every hero on the planet sought to battle the group who controlled some of the most powerful mutants on the planet? We are merely free agents this way. Disconnected from whatever destruction they do. Free of any blame for the atrocities they will committed."

McCoy sniffs the blood in the air.

"Or have committed." he says with a wicked grin.

"We have not forced them to do anything. Everything the X-Men have done and will do has been of their own accord and they will reap the consequences of their decisions. Come Fatale, we must complete our project."

"But how will we inject Rogue? Her invulnerability would prevent our syringe from working."

"What my dear makes you think we want to infect Rogue? Life is a game of chess. And with pawns and players like the ones Fantomex has assembled we don't need to get to Rogue, when we can go through her." McCoy says with a dark grin.

Fatale again activates her teleportation field and the trio dissappear.

Dead Hand scratches his head after witnessing all the events. Silently, he mumbled and grubled to himself as the Dark Beast made one of his rambling speeches. At length, however, they all left, and the merc found himself once again alone with Wizard.

How the hell was he going to get out of this one and still have some cash left? Sure, McCoy had wired through half the cash he owed before hand, and according to the letter of the contract, Dead Hand had done his job so the rest should be getting transfered soon. Then an idea hit him.

The jet,

It was still somewhere in the town. If he could make it there, he'd be able to get back to the X-mansion with no trouble at all. Grabbing Wizard and slinging him over his shoulder, Dead Hand set off for the jet

Rogue

After having Remy roll down one of the back seat windows, I slid inside the car, collapsing on the back seat with a sigh.

"Next time, remind me that zombies are not fun to play with," I said wearily. After reenforcing the dressing on my thigh to stop the bleeding, I caught Remy looking at me in the rear view mirror. "Don't worry, Gambit, I'll be okay. Nothing a belle can't handle."

We zipped through what appeard to have been a nice little town once. Now it was like something from a Resident Evil game, blood and zombies and bodies all over the place.

"So, where we headed?"

~He couldn't get the rear window down quick enough. Demn the power windows motors running so slow And once she was inside the car, he kept djusting the rearview mirror to look her over.~

Of course, Cher, you're indestructable. Just allow me to worry 'bout you a little. Saints know that you've worried 'bout me enough...

~He clicked on the onstar* system and looked over the maps. Nothing really looked safe. The zombie infection was spreading like wildfire and there was not much they could do to stop it.~

Im at a loss Rogue. Only thing I can think of now is to go back ta Paris and regroup. Maybe we can get in touch with someone that can fill us in on what de hell is going on over here. What do either of you think?

Rogue

"Well, the Nighthawk (or whatever the plane's called) is in a field near the building you pulled me out of... wait a moment," I said before slinging my back pack around to start digging in it. Shoved down in the bottom was a sort of laptop like device, only the display was set up with multiple flat screen panels and an abrievated keyboard. "I've got one of the prototype distance controls... not quite sure on how to use it, but I have it. Must have been in my bag from that last trip to El Mig- I mean to gather supplies."

I knew I shouldn't use the plane to get mexican food but it had never stopped me before. Not me or anyone else who went with me.

"Last trip out, one of the kids used it, said it was like a video game."

"What?" Was all Psylocke said as she hurled herself into the backseat with Rogue. She was itching to continue the fight, her adrenaline pumped through her veins, her heartbeat was racing and she craved more action. she was just getting started and the party was over in a blink of eye. She was too busy starring off through the window to see if there were any more zombies that needed taking care of to hear a word Rogue had said.

"Why do I have the feeling this is a nightmare that'll end with m teeth falling out." Eyeing the injury Rogue had sustained she pulled her lips into a tight smile. "Oh the price we pay...I'm sure Gambit can play doctor." She smiled, shifting her weight in the seat.

"I'm fine letting you two take the lead. We do need to regroup. Make a few plans of action."

Alright, I'll find us a clearing somewhere so we can meet da jet there. You just get it there in one piece.

~Gambit brooded over the many maps onstar* had to offer as he crawled through the deserted streets of the German town. It was almost scary at the lack of people walking around the town and the lack of lights in the windows of the buildings. Soon, gambit found a clearing. An old farm a few miles outside of the city.~

I found a place we can land da jet. We should be dere in ten minutes so long as we arent interupted.

~He turned the wheel sharply as he found the turn to head out of town and kicked up rocks and dust as the wheels spun. Unfortunatly he almost put betsy in his lap and jostled Rogue about a bit in the back~

That was for the playing doctor comment....

Rogue

I felt a flare of jealousy over seeing her almost in his lap but surpressed it. I still didn't know his full reasons for saving me. This could be 'for old time's sake' for all I knew.

Sitting back up from where I'd been tossed, I clipped my seatbelt on and said ruefully, "I see your driving hasn't gotten any better, Gambit."

Wizard and Cable

Wizard stirred slightly, groaning in pain. His body had started fighting the infection from Emplate's friends almost immediately, because of the cure to the previous supervirus that was already bonding to his DNA. He didn't know what had happened, or why he was hurting, but he slowly opened his eyes and looked around.

----

Cable made sure Sabertooth was restrained, then bodyslid. He had to talk to the others, to tell them everything. He came out right in front of their car, and blinked, jumping and landing on the roof. He held on with his cybernetic arm, until the car started slowing down from lack of gasoline.

You're gonna have to cut me some slack, Cher. I'm trying to look at de satillite tracking system and drive at the same time. 'Sides I always thought you loved my drivin'.

~He took the next left followed by a right, when they all heard a *thud* on the room. Next thing they know, the car is simply spinning it's wheels and then stopping. Gambit checked the brake and the gas tank, then something caught his eyes in the rear view mirror.~

We've company, it's Cable. I'm gonna go see what he wants. We've worked together before. Stay on guard though, we don't know what he wants from us...yet.

~Gambit looked at Betsy, then over the back of the seat at Rogue.~

How far away is de jet?

Cable stood jumped down off of the roof, and stretched. His shoulder was a little sore from holding on as the Cajun drove, but he was otherwise intact. He stood there, waiting for a moment, then looked at his chronometer. He waited for one of them, or preferably all of them, to get out of the car. He had a lengthy tale to tell them, and not much time to tell it. His history archive in his computer had changed again, indicating that Emplate was being used to control the world, and that Wizard has become unstable as a result of the introduction of Emplate's biomatter into his system.

"Come on, we haven't got all eternity." He muttered, not liking how often events were changing.

:: Gambit opened the car door and stepped out. He kept his staff in his hand as a precaution measure and motioned Betsy to get in the drivers seat in case they had to get away. He then walked around to the back of the car and met with Cable::

Alright, you've got my attention, Mon Amie. You gonna tell me what's going on and why you are here or would you rather talk to one of the girls?
