Rogue

Over my communicator I said, "I think Cable slid them out of the plane in time, Stormy. How are you holding up?"

"Yeah I'm ok for now. But if you start looking like lunch, I'll let you know. Before I came down here I saw Fantomex, but he disappeared and I don't know where he is. He is probably on Eva. Rogue, Jean said that you had wondered earlier about what would happen if you touched Eva. Do you want to find out? Eva is connected to Fantomex's nervous system. If we can take her out, we can get him. Psylocke, you can't read Fantomex's mind but can you track where the teleporting woman is?"

Rogue

My mind flew over the information Fantomex had given me on Eva and his own powers. "You know, Storm, that may be a good idea. But that requires me coming out in the open, which I'm not quite ready to do."

Without warning, I turned on one foot and flung myself into Gambit's arms. I snuggled there for a brief moment with a sigh. "Sorry, Gambit, but this is probably as private as we're gonna get for a while. And I don't want to do this without first holding you again."

Pulling away, I winked at him and took off, hovering within the treeline's cover but able to see the skies. I made use of the branches to hide myself, both from above and below.

I wasn't sure I wanted to touch Eva, what if I became a ship myself? Or drained her completely- that was a ship's worth of energy and me not quite sure on how to vent it.

Fantomex

watching from aboard Eva Fantomex saw the perfect moment to strike.

"Now, Fatale, do exactly as we planned. The lovers are going to go make out, our target is exposed."

Fatale nodded and used the image that Eva projected for her to show her the exact spot to create a teleportation portal.

This portal would be particularly taxing for Fatale because she would have to leave it open for some period of time. It also would require delicate precision.

Bending the light underneath the ground of the mutant Psylocke time and space began to shift. In Fatale's mind, everything in her field of sight began to deconstruct into beams of light colored by the object it used to be. Gray beams that used to look like Fantomex, silver beams that used to look like Eva and various other aspets of her currenty environment were broken down into billions of light beams rushing toward her face and around her body. After a quick moment she could feel it stop and a brush of air hit her face as she had created a large teleportation portal right underneath Psylocke, the only mutant still on the ground, left exposed when Rogue flew Gambit into the air.

Fantomex walked through the portal and hoped to be able to quickly grab Psylocke's legs to prevent her from using her agility to find a way to escape and drag her through the ground onto Eva.

I dunno, Rogue. All I know is dat we best get moving. We're like sitting ducks out here if Fantomex decides to use his Craft against us...

::He looked around them just as a gust of wind caught them and Storm landed. He instictivly put himself between Storm and Rogue, then laughed softly when she greeted him.::

Great to see you too, Stormy. Next time don't stay away so long....

::He stood back and took in everything the girls were talking about, then caught Rogue as she flung herself into his arms. he held her tightly and remembered the night they got to spend together in Antarctica before the trial. It was then, when their powers were negated by Nanny that they got to finally show their love for one another. It would be a night he would never forget.::

Go, Chere. I'll be here when you get back.

::He returned his gaze to Storm, then got the distinct feeling that they were not alone. He pulled a dart from his trench coat and turned to look around him. It was then that he noticed the pink arora that was where Psylocke would have been standing.::

Betsy?......BETSY?!?!?!?

Storm grabbed Gambit and flew him up to a tree near Rogue.

"Eva can monitor what is happening so I think we are out of luck if the plan is to hide and we have lost Psylocke."

Rogue

Keeping a few branches between me and Storm, I nodded at my fellow flyer. "Yeah, I'd say things have gone from bad to worse."

Psylocke gone, the only one who probably could have predetected portal-gal with any accuracy. Seperated from half our group.

And sitting here like ducks.

"This is getting rediculous," I thought with a growl, hands tightening on the branch I was holding onto. Deep grooves were left by my fingers before I caught myself and eased up. "Can't a girl have a nice reunion? No, people have to go blowing up our plane, kidnapping our people, making zombies and causing a ruckus."

Looking at Remy and Storm, I asked out load, "Any ideas? Without Betsy, I don't know when portal girl and her cliche color scheme's going to pop back in."

Yeah, P'tite, the more t'ings change the more dey stay the sam, no?

::He looked out through the folliage and watched EVA as she hoovered well out of range for a blast from a dart. If he could only touch EVA perhaps he could give her a big charge, then Fantomex and his crew would have to stay on the ground with them. But how to get the crew occupied enough to give Gambit a chance. That's when an idea came to mind.::

Ok girls I've just thought of something...Stormy, dey know you are infected by da zombies, but dey also know that Rogue and I aren't. Rogue, Chere, you and I have to take a fall outta dis tree and hit da ground. Lets pretend to have been infected by Storm, then lay still like we are unconsious. Stormy, you will just have to fly down and look menacing over us to make it appear dat you've finally been taken over. Ive been told dat Fantomex wants us for something so he wouldn't dare shoot us, let alone touch us. I'll charge a dart, but hide it beneath me when I hit da ground. Either one of two things will happen. Either Fantomex will land EVA and come retrieve us and I'll take EVA out with my dart, or he'll send da teleporter which you can grab, P'tite, and put her down. Either way we will be able ta take one of dem out. If not all of dem.

::He took a dart from his trench coat, then looked at the girls.::

What do you two think?

Dead Hand rubbed his head as he was unceramoniously dumped on the ground. Whatever the hell just happened, it left a buzzing in his brain that just refused to quit

He guessed that this was where Sabretooth was hanging out, as it had seemed quite clear that Cable was intent on finding the furball. He grunted. Better that the man from the future gets torn apart than him...

"Without Psylocke here to control me, I don't really want to dangle you two infront of me. If the goal is to hit Eva, I can get her from here and maybe force her to land."

Fantomex

Eva began rising high into the air.

At about half a mile up part of her doorway opened.

With a rough jolt forward that made it look as if she had been thrown or pushed out the purple hair of Psylocke distinguished herself and she was in freefall plummeting toward the ground.

"Rogue, grab Gambit and follow me!"

Storm shot out of the tree and towards the falling body. She looked behind to make sure Rogue was following her.

"Keep an eye on Eva!"

Storm stopped and summoned up the same type of wind that kept her aloft to slow the body down.

Fantomex

Looking down on a screen Eva displayed Fantomex could see Fatale falling to the ground. He hoped that her shape shifting ruse would give him enough time to interrogate Psylocke.

Walking in circles around her aboard Eva the two thought of a long pink swirling tunnel hopefully to give her the illusion she was still falling through the portal.

Smiling to himself Fantomex was ready.

He stopped the illusion and wanted Pyslocke to see herself falling with inside of a futuristic spaceship far bigger on the outside than it was on the inside. At the helm, a strange looking alien creature piloted this ship. Various crew members would look toward Psylocke and smile cheerfully.

A mental projection of Fantomex addressed Psylocke in a familiar voice.

He called her by her first name.

"I apologize for not being able to tell you earlier. I would have confided in you but until the chrono scans were positive I could not be exactly sure who was affecting the past. One of the mutants gathered here is an anomaly, a chrono variant tha doesn't belong and they are changing the past and affecting the future. We have to stop them and I need your help. The X-Men of my time need your help."

The mental projection of Fantomex in front of Psylocke took off his mask, and revealed the face of Cable.

Fatale

As Ororo's winds began to encircle Fatale the disguised mutant tried to seem as limp as possible in order to look incapacitated.

She closed her eyes and just let the wind move her without resistance.

Fantomex

As he sat and watched the real Psylocke aboard Eva Fantomex decided that she would prove enough of an asset to transform.

He picked up the communication device and decided to ready McCoy that after Fatale was able she would retrieve Emplate and bring him to Eva to turn Psylocke.

"McCoy?" he said speaking into the comm device. He remote activated the Dark Beast device.

"McCoy? McCoy!!!" he said screaming.

No response from the other end.

Frowning Fantomex began to wonder.

With Psylocke on the ground, Storm turned her attention to Eva. The clouds built up and started creating lighting all of which was aimed at Eva.

Cable led them to a large cabin. Sabertooth was still out cold inside, having been sedated. They only had a few minutes to get this done, but it wouldn't be easy. He opened the door, then nodded to Wizard, who stepped in slowly. Wizard sighed, wondering why he was being used like that, but he had no choice. He slowly removed his gloves, then moved over to Sabertooth, and touched his hands to the big man's chest. Cable watched, then swore, as nothing was happening.

Rogue

It was a plan, so I followed it.

Putting my arms around his waist so he'd rise with me, I lifted into the air, buffeted by the residual winds from Storm's catching Psylocke.

Seeing her on the ground safely, I looked to Gambit. "How close do you have to be to dart Eva, sugah?"

Dead Hand shrugged. "So, what now? I'm guessing that you don't want Sabretooth awake, eh future-boy?" He crossed his arms over his chest. This was stupid. If Sabretooth woke up, then Wizard was dead, plain and simple. Cable could probably survive, which would give Dead hand enough time to run for his life.

probably...

Whoa....

::Getting grabbed and lifted as quick as he did was not what he had in mind, but he accepted the fact that plans had to change. He watched as Storm assisted Psylocke to the ground with her winds, then he watched EVA as Rogue talked.::

To give her a dart in da side I'd say about fifty feet so I wouldn't miss, but I think if you could get me within reach to touch da ship I think I could give her a real charge.

::With the dart already in his hand, he looked away from EVA and at the dart. His eyes started to glow again and within moments were intense enough so that the charge jumped from his eyes to the dart making it glow.::

He had been forced to take command of the situation, and did as best he could given the circumstances. He knew they would just have to leave the car on the side of the road, at this point they couldn't very well pull into a service station. Everyone in the region was sure to see the truth on the television. So they walked, cold and alone through the woods.

"Vous putain stupide, vous putain stupide! Je vous ai dit que les cent temps, et maintenant nous sommes affamés!"

"Comment est-ce que j'ai été censé connaître un certain Yankee stupide allais nous juger et tirer?"

Rogue

"Fifty feet I think we can manage," I said, looking around, taking in everyones locations. "Touching may be a bit harder. At least for you and me. Solo, I could probably do it...

I trailed off, not sure I wanted to carry Remy's powers again. Still hadn't been able to replace the tea cup I'd blown up from the last time I'd held them.

When we get dere just give me a toss, P'tite. That way I can get more behind my arm den with you holding me up. Just remember to catch me afterwards.

::Rogue quickly moved through the air, then she heaved Gambit up into the air. He knew that this was going to be a long ride, but he knew what had to be done. He reached the arc of the throw, then flipped himself to give him that much more on the throw. On the decent he drew his arm back and threw the charaged dart at EVA. with the dart on its collision course with the ship, he opened his arms and legs trying to slow the speed he was falling at to give Rogue a chance to catch him. he attemped to keep his eyes on EVA and the dart as long as he could while he waited to be caught.::

Rogue

I saw him throw the dart and zoomed toward him, arms clost to my body for speed until just before I caught up.

Catching him in my arms, I had to say it, "So, I guess I'll be carrying you over the threashold today?"

Storm glanced over at Rogue and Gambit to see what they were doing then looked back at Eva.

She saw Rogue fly Gambit up near Eva and throw him. Storm tried to time it so that when his dart hit she would hit Eva hard. She watched Eva to see what would happen.

It was good to see Gambit and Rogue together again, more so after they had left him in Antarctica. He would have some explaining to do when this was done. The attack on the Morlocks couldn't just be forgotten but neither could him helping them now.
