x men

It's 2013. Mutants worldwide are being hunted by the Sentinels. The law orders all mutants are considered dangerous enemies of humanity, to be apprehended or killed if they resist. The X-Men lead the fight of mutantkind against the oppressors.....

The Sentinels surrounded Wolverine. The feral scrapper looked at the towering mechanical brutes. Since his healing factor was negated by the inhibition collar, he knew he wouldn't be able to regenerate from the damage they did to him. But Wolverine had never backed down from a fight. Not ever.

So he popped his claws, though it hurt like hell.

The Sentinels readied their weapons. They were going to finish him. Suddenly, the air cackled with electricity. Lightning struck the mechanical
entities, short-circuiting them !

From above came Storm, fierce and beautiful. Wolverine's savior smiled at him and descended from the skies, standing before him.

Wolverine looked at Storm. She was so lovely, tall, dark-skinned and silver-haired. A beauty. His heart skipped a beat. The feral scrapper looked at the weather witch as if seeing her for the first time. Storm smiled at him.
She knew what was going on in his mind. No need to be a telepath. Just needed to be human.

Wolverine had spent many years crushing on Jean Grey, who did not want him. He hadn't seen the woman who truly loved him though she was never far from him.....Storm.

Wolverine pulled Storm into his arms and kissed her. And she kissed him back !!!!

Rogue

I nodded at Remy. "You trust me and I'll trust you, Gambit. We talked about this."

Turning my attention to the woman beside me I said, "Trust is important, don't you think, Beth?"

Without waiting for my peer's reaction, for how could they miss me calling Psylocke 'Beth' when she was really 'Betsy Braddock,' I slammed the palm of my ungloved right hand onto her skull driving her up into the air and onto the ground while my powers did thier thing.

A pink haze surrounded the two of us as I saw things, my grip on her loosening before I killed her. I sat back, a bit dazed myself at the onslaught of information, knowing she wasn't Betsy, she was Fatale and suddenly worried I hadn't drained enough from her to keep her out.

Fantomex

With a somewhat comedic expression Fantomex watched as Rogue slammed her fist into fatale taking her by surprise.

He turned his face away paying more interest to his injuries almost as if he felt the ordeal Fatale endured didn't concern him or was something of little importance.

Fatale choked a scream as she found her voice wouldn't come out. Her voice, her mind, her life was being sucked out of her and into Rogue then with a spark of pink light that accompanies Fatale's energy signature she feel to the ground exhausted by the ordeal and still in a state of shock and uncertainty regarding what happened.

Fantomex didn't even look at Fatale but spoke to Gambit.

"If you want the disc, I would be willing to give it to you. But you have release me as well as allow McCoy free passage."

Storm was appalled at Fantomex's apathetic reation to what Fatale was going through.

"If you want the disc, I would be willing to give it to you. But you have release me as well as allow McCoy free passage."

Storm laughed at Fantomex and said,

"That's not going to happen. You and McCoy are more dangerous than the information on that disc."

Fantomex looked sternly at Storm.

"You couldn't be further from the truth. The true danger is with you. Your power unchecked. Tell me Storm, if the X-Men were to ever take a turn toward let's say more morally ambiguous methods could anyone stop you? Are the Fantastic Four strong enough? Are the Avengers. No, and that is why you must not be allowed to continue to develop living weapons at that school of yours without giving the world assurance that you will not act against them. And you all speak of trust."

Fantomex laughed contemptuously.

"Storm, don't you realize that I never would have been able to obtain the disc if not for help within your own superhero community? The heroes don't trust you Storm. Or that school of mutant soldiers you wish to unleash in a generation. Do you know who the last leader was to teach the young generation how to fight so that they would further his ideals? Hitler. One X-Man had a bad day and an entire world was destroyed. Another X-Man had a nervous breakdown and all of New York City was held captive. You want to police the world but you don't police yourselves. So now, there is someone watching you X-Men. Get used to it."

Rogue

"How about we zap all three of you," I asked rhetorically, tossing bits of pink energy around from hand to hand, parts of me going invisible. "Of course, that's not very honorable. I'm willing to take the disk and Pyslocke back in return for free passage of you and Dark Beast. The pink porter here though, think I'll hang on to her for a bit. You can have her back if you give us a cure for Stormy and Wizard."

Fantomex

"They've buckled." Fantomex thinks.

"Well, since you're making the decisions now Dixie the rules are different. Fatale impersonated Psylocke and has demonstrated an ability that may mean an endless degree of my sexual fantasies may become a reality. I think she's more valuable than the serums McCoy has. A temporary suppressant is with him. Emplate will be happy to return to Storm what he took. Psylocke will be returned by Fatale comes with me."

Eva

aboard the extraterrestrial ship Eva continuously tries to call the Dark Beast and Emplate with no success.

Finally she gives up.

"Something happened. We must assume so. Cable perhaps, though he should not have the power to overwhelm the forces of the town especially with the afflicted by his side. It was likely something else."

"What do we do?" Eva asks.

"What anyone does when their coworkers are missing. We call the police."

Wrinkling my nose, I said, "That's just oversharing, Fantomex. Really. And when she... nah I'm not going to tell you. We get Psylock and Stormy and Wizard's cures, you can have Fatale. Not some temporary suppressant, something perminant that will heal them. I don't want to be back where we are now when that temporary thing wears off."

I looked to Gambit. "That about cover it, sugah?"

Fantomex

"McCoy has the cure. We walk."

Fantomex began to try to stand

::He sat back and watched as things unfolded themselves before him. He didn't like dealing with trades, however he was not a part of the team anymore, he just came to make sure Rogue would be safe. The decisions about what to do would be up to Storm and or Rogue as they are in charge.

Sinister said that he was to steal the disc from Fantomex and return it to him. That is what he planned on doing, but how to get the disc from Fantomex? Then again what if their wasn't a disc to begin with and Sinister just sent him to find Fantomex and... kill him?::

Sounds like a plan to me, Chere.

::He walked over and scooped up Fatale draping her over his shoulder, then turned to the group using his staff like a walking stick, that way whatever happened he could still defend himself.::

ooc: I don't know much about the comic book X-men world, so I am assuming alot. Also wouldn't Gambit and Rogue remember that you were originally going to find out if you can get a cure from Sabertooth?

IC:
"You and McCoy not only infected Wizard and me, but an entire town with that horrible disease. I hardly think that you can take the moral high ground, Fantomex. I don't think that you are the concerned voice of the world. If we do take on morally ambiguous methods, we will stop ourselves. And about our school creating living weapons, what would be better, leave those children to fend for themselves in a world that hates them. Or find support in each other and at least give them the ability to make the decision for themselves of what they want to contribute. I don't believe that anyone as morally corrupt as you and whoever is running you will be the ones to keep the X-men in check."

Storm looked over at Rogue who was currently glowing pink and said,

"Rogue, if you can, please use your communicator and find out what is going on with Wizard and Cable. Lets deal with what we have and don't have. We don't have McCoy, but we do have Fantomex and Fatale. He has Psylocke. We need the cure. If we have a cure then we don't need the disk."

Rogue

"Ah think we do need the disk," I thought but flipped on my communicator anyway. "Wizard, Deadhand, either of you out there on th' air? You two okay?"

Waiting for thier response, I started to shift through the earliest memories I took from Fatale, figuring out her portal powers. Worse comes to worse, I could port to the cabin, in theory.

"Ah think we do need the disk."Rogue said.

Storm was a little annoyed with Rogue and would have to deal with her later. She hadn't been Rogue's leader for awhile and wasn't used to anyone openly defying her without at least an explaination. She almost felt like saying "don't argue with me in front of the bad guy, dear," but left it alone. She could feel that she was loosing focus and the infection was probably affecting her control. The clouds hadn't stopped and the wind was picking up. She started to wonder about the ethics of feeding off of Fantomex.

"After I was infected, they told me that if I gave them Rogue, they would give me the cure and the Professor and Jean. We are isolated and don't know everything that is going on. We need to get Fantomex to a more secure place and find out where everyone else is before we start bargaining. We don't know where McCoy and his monster are, so I would rather not be standing out in the open where they may find us. The jet is down, is there anyway we can contact anyone at the institute or do you know anyone in Europe, Gambit?"

Fantomex looked back at the two women. He could see clearly that a wedge had been driven between them. In fact, he could see that wedge was between all of them. The way they looked at Gambit was not the way that they looked at other X-Men. It was mistrustful, feigned, and pitiable in a way.

"Something happened, but I don't know what." Fantomex said to Eva telepathically.

They are off balance but not enough to topple them. Have you let them know we are here?

"Yes, it should not be much longer." Eva replied

Fantomex smiled to himself.

"Walking will take too much time. Two of you can fly. Storm can carry me and Rogue can carry Gambit. Eva will fly behind us. Leave Fatale behind. That way I'll have assurance that when she wakes up she will be able to escape. And when we get to McCoy you must not speak. Pretend as if you are under my control and I will get the cure for you. But if you speak it will....complicate matters."

"Where is Psylocke?"Storm asked.

Storm didn't want to get that close to Fantomex but didn't want to risk Rogue getting hurt. Maybe if they had the cure it wouldn't matter if they had McCoy and Fantomex, because at least they could stop them from spreading the plague further.

"So you want us to let Fatale go, bring you to McCoy, and you will just get the cure for us. What assurance do we have that you won't backstab us, again? How about Psylocke gets left here too, with the disk"

"We're wasting too much time talking here. My collegues will become worried and if they look for me and think I'm conspiring with you they will not trust me with the cure. Rogue is right. The disc isn't important. You all don't need the disc. Or even the arrest of my colleagues and myself. All you need is a cure for Ms. Munroe's dreadful new appetite, and some form of air travel accomodations I assume. I can assure you that Ms. Elizabeth Braddock understands and agrees that she plays a vital role in helping to establish diplomacy between our two groups during this....what's that?"

Fantomex tapped on his ear as though he were listening to some sort of message.

"Well, X-Men, its unfortunate you did not except my offer when I was in a more charitable mood. The stakes have changed. You can either have the disc, which will have all the answers you need about me, Gambit, and our project, or you can leave now. And I won't hold any grudges."

Despite the fact that he was outnumbered and overpowered Fantomex spoke as though he had control over the situation.

What would the X-Men choose and what was up his sleeve?

Fantomex

"It depends on how long she touched her. Generally Rogue's power absortion abilities have a roughly 1 to 60 second ratio. For everyone one second Rogue touches someone their memories, personality and powers are temprorily stored in her brain and DNA. With prolong contact the transfer becomes permanent and can even result in death." Fantomex began to shake his head and pace back and forth as though he were trying to say something but could not think of the best way to express it.

"How do I know that? The diisc could tell you something, about me too. But it won't help you now. You don't have much time. Teleporting anywhere but away from here will only get you into more trouble. And even if McCoy gives you the cure, would you take it if it meant the people of this town had to go without? They are infected because of you all after all..."

:: Gambit sat back and listened as everyone weighed in on what they should do, but noone did anything about it yet. He started to feel Fatale stir on his shoulder and uncerimoniously dropped her to the ground.::

Sorry, Mon ami, but I wouldn't want you waking up on me and trying something stupid.

::He then looked at Storm as he thought for a moment, then shook his head.::

I don't know of anyone in Europe at da moment, Stormy. My knowledge of Xmen and da like kinda went out da door after Antarctica.

::He then listened to Fantomex as he started to talk about getting a vure from McCoy and about the zombies being their fault and started to feel a touch of anger starting to build within.::

If I remember correctly, it was you and your cohorts dat stole da information on da Disc and used it to create da monster dat created da zombies. We had not'ing to do with dat. Stormy, I think I know someone who can cure you, but I don't know what da price will be. Last time I delt with him it cost a friend a bit of DNA. This person isn't someone dat is good to deal withn a regular basis, if you cath my drift, but at least he lets you know up front what he wants.

Wizard ran past, barely noticing them. His only thought was rage. But then he noticed Fantomex. He almost roared in rage, drawing the sword that he had gotten less than a day before. It was clear to the others they had to do something, or they'd lose their captive.

Fantomex

Eva could see Wizard running toward Fantomex which meant Fantomex could see him just as clearly.

Thinking to himself, Fantomex was disspointed Rogue didn't try to absorb his powers. He could tell that she wanted to but he made her a little nervous.

Wizard wasn't nervous at all. He was obviously quite angry, and bloodthirsty Fantomex thought with a chuckle. But would he kill an unarmed man?

Fantomex hoped so.

Rogue

I acted without thinking, porting away from Gambit in front of Wizard. "Wizard what are you.."

He barrled right into me, sending me slamming backward before I could do anything about it, right in Fantomex's direction. This could be bad, I had time to think as I tried to pull out of it, not even thinking to port, hands stretched behind me to break my fall against whatever I was going to hit.

Fantomex

Fantomex watched in amusement as Wizard ran toward him with his sword. A part of him was dissapointed that the X-Men still had not fallen as far as he had hoped to take them.

Watching Rogue teleport to save his life was heroic but he had no intentions of returning the favor and helping her.

Instead he time his jump perfectly to flip over the entangled two so they would barrel straight for a collision with Eva who was following Fantomex in tow.

Even though he knew Rogue's invulnerability would protect her, Fantomex felt a macarbe glee at how Rogue would feel knowing she saved another's life, but when she was falling no one stuck out their hands to save her.

Fantomex smiled to himself. Wizard's outburst distracted the group. There is not much more time left.

"Misdirection." Fantomex thought marvelling at how clueless the mutants are.

"They see a mysterious cabal, that plans to convert the X-Men into living weapons. Is that really all they thought? They negotiate for a disc and a cure. Haha, there is no cure for what's about to happen to them. And none of them see it coming. Soon, they will learn what they are really up against."
