Tai nodded slowly. They'd have time to see what he could do later, though he didn't think they'd approve of the military-grade weaponry he had lurking in his body. He thought for a moment, then turned to look at the students watching them from a distance. His sensors registered everything about them but what they were capable of, which was how they usually registered new mutants.

"If I can be of use, I will gladly. However, it is recommended that you don't take me with you on any missions."

Storm smiled at Tai and said,

"I don't think that will be a problem. It's better if you keep out of sight for awhile and we try to only take X-men on missions."

Storm excused herself and stepped into the elevator with Gambit.

Nori looked around the corner again and saw that Storm, Rogue, and Gambit had left leaving Tai alone. She caught him looking in their direction and said to Thad,

"We'll go see Forge later. Let's go mingle with the noobie."

Jack Sparx stood behind Tai, looking at him. He had developed the ability to see the light people give off, along with his ability to generate light blasts and electromagnetic bursts. What he saw as he looked at Tai interested him. Two clearly defined light auras, one silvery, the other red. As he followed Tai's gaze, he saw Thad and Nori, and smiled, then waved them over. Then he started to introduce himself to Tai.

"Hi, I'm Jack Sparx, but everyone calls me Sparkler."

Tai blinked, turning to look at the young man talking to him. His sensors immediately picked up the altered light the guy was giving off, and Tai raised an eyebrow, doublechecking the readings.

~Gambit moved his hand away from the doors allowing them to close. he then looked over at Storm and smiled~

Seems like you've been busy today, Stormy. T'ings should calm down once everyt'ing is back to whatever normal is around here.

~He watched as the lighted numbers counted down as they decended into the sublevels of the Mansion. Soon the doors parted and they stepped out of the elevator and walked towards the War Room. Again, he held the door for her as they stepped into the room, then he closed the door and locked it so that unless Kitty decided to barge in again, that they would be alone.~

Nori shrugged her shoulders and grinned at Thad. She stepped out and started walking towards Jack and Tai. She hadn't talked with Jack a whole lot but she hadn't really talked with Thad either until today and that turned out good.

After several hurried yet enjoyable bites, Jamie slowed himself. He'd had just enough to take the edge off his starvation and make himself more pleasant company. Dabbing at any stray sauce on his lips, he apologetically eyed both girls.

"Mm. My compliments to the chef! I heard he learned to cook like this in Lebanon, straight from a little old grandmother."

Now where was the conversation to go, hm? Of course he couldn't go on and on about the food... well, he could, but that seemed a rather self-involved topic. Gleening their shared history from Babette would be rude to Amanda; she was here first, after all. And the usual "getting to know ya" small talk would confuse Babs, as they probably already had that chat.

"So, Amanda, you've been around here a while, right? What's the gossip all about?" Jamie had yet to hear the Germany story from anybody but new anchors. Now would be a good time to start. Babette'd be better off knowing what's going on as well if she was going to be staying at the mansion. "Of course, Babs, if you know anything feel free to jump in. I'm a little out of the loop.

Meanwhile, another rather somber Madrox strode through a deserted garden, one of several on the grounds. The estate was worth millions, no doubt. Not even counting all the 'secret' levels and hi-tech gadgetry that went into the place The grounds were spacious and immaculately handled, the buildings were kept pristine. Hell, even the wooden flooring was buffed weekly.

So how much more could Xavier have done for mutantkind if he hadn't lavished a fortune of luxuries on his prized few? He thought about the squalor so many residents of District X lived in. Of course part of it was their own doing, not enough moxy to pull themselves up from the depths, but still... Charles had the resources to help, but didn't.

The straight line of his mouth remained unbroken as he happened upon Shadowcat. Siddling up beside her against the wall, he pulled a pack of black cigarettes and a lighter from the beaten trenchcoat he wore. The damn coat had been an unofficial part of his gov't X-Factor uniform and it'd seen far better days.

Lighting up, he made the obligatory offer to Kitty before putting them away.

"I'd forgotten what a madhouse this place was. F'n kids running around all over the place... Like a looney bin..

Anyway, how're things goin'?"

Kitty watched James walk over and offer her a cigarette. She shook her head.

Kitty laughed alittle "I know, I can't turn around without tripping over one"

Anyway, how're things goin'?"

Kitty turned and faced James, “It’s boring,” she sighed moving in front of him placing her hands on his chest and leaning closer. “When do we get started?”

Surprisingly stoic, given his companion's increasingly close proximity, he took a long drag on his cigarette before dangling it at his side. The smoke came in a great cloud out of the side of his mouth as he quite blatantly scoped her out.

"Soon enough. Certain people are running around like headless chickens, making things a bit difficult. We'll have to wait until things calm down a bit before continuing. Before you know it we'll have all the pieces to the puzzle."

"You not enjoying yourself, here at the mansion?"

"I have been here...maybe two hours? I know nothing of this place, just knew it was mutant sanctuary."

 

[Ankara]

"You not enjoying yourself, here at the mansion?"

"I'm trying to behave myself," she smirked, "But it's really hard."

She watched him take another drag from his cigarette as she smoothed her hands over his chest. "Have you seen him yet?"

 

[GentLi]

Madrox

"Just for a moment. Right away he sends me on an errand..." It hadn't been what Madrox had expected at all. Hardly the dramatic moment he'd thought it might be, but then again he really didn't know why he held any expectations for their little reunion. "...Whadda dick."

"Ah well. I'm here on business, right? ... How's that bit of computer work coming?"

~Thad, like a lost little puppy, followed Nori as she went to join the others, then nodded a hello to both Tai and Jack.~

So what is going on today?

~He looked beyond them and saw Gambit and Storm step into the elevator. The doors then closed and judging by the lights above the elevator, it was heading down.~

I wonder what's going on?

Tai shrugged. "Miss Munroe's blood pressure is very high. Other than that, I'd say they're fine. My name is Tai, and yours?" He didn't hold out a hand, simply stood there. His scanners were running at full speed, going from one to the other. They weren't registered, and didn't have the same powers as the young man who had walked up to him, but he could probably gauge their powers if he tried the right wavelength.

Jack turned to watch Storm get on the elevator with Gambit. He figured it was about the loss of the three highest ranking teachers. He wasn't about to divulge that, though, in case he was wrong.

My name is Thad and this is Nori.

~He inclined his head to Nori as he entroduced her.~

Watch out for her, she can electrocute ya if you cross her. me on the other hand, well...

~He reached out and touched Tai's metalic arm and his skin started to change to match the metal starting from where his fingers touched Tai metal arm til it covered him from head to toe. He took his fingers away from Tai and allowed the metal that covered his skin to dissipate.~

Nori smiled at them while Thad introduced her and then punched him after the metal left his skin.

"Way to go. You ruined the surprise."

~He let out a soft "oof" as her fist connected into his ribs, but tried to keep the smile on his face as he looked at Tai. He didn't know that she didn't want them to know about her powers. He had thought that was how most of the students entroduced themselves. "Im so and so and I can do such and such" was a typical greeting in the mansion long with a "Welcome to mutant high" or "Welcome to Freak Hall" or something along those lines. Thad then whispered to Nori in an aside.~

I didn't know we had a surprise.

"Just for a moment. Right away he sends me on an errand...Whadda dick.
Ah well. I'm here on business, right? ... How's that bit of computer work coming?"

"It's his arrogance that makes him that way. Treating you like a slave just because of who he thinks he is. Making you do these little insignificant tasks to satisfy his whims. But we'll change all that won't we. If he's to blind to see that your special, then we can use that to our advantage."

She hoped the little ego stroking would help him keep their goal in mind. "The computer is being alittle stubborn, and I can't seem to remember all of Ka... I mean my passwords." She grinned at him alittle,"I'll have to find a way to get them, but it shouldn't be too difficult."

Nori grinned at Thad and said,

"I was only going to give him a little shock."

Chihiro was wandering the mansion when she found a somewhat familiar sight. Jamie Maddrox, also known as the Man Who Could Be Everywhere At Once, or Multiple Man. She had met him once, when she had been working on weapons design for Vector. She walked in, and saw another person, a woman. She cleared her throat to get their attention, just after having caught the woman talk about forgetting passwords.

"Let me guess, they have you looking for information? Is it me, Xeno, or that twin?" She smiled disarmingly.

 

[Ankara]

"Let me guess, they have you looking for information? Is it me, Xeno, or that twin?"

She gave a sly look to James and turned to face the girl. Chihiro saw Kitty pout her lip a little and walk over.

"Oh it looks like we're found out." She turned and winked at James. "I guess we'll just have to tell her the truth." She was talking in a patronizing baby voice. She started circling around the girl looking her up and down. "We were told that all of you are a threat to the school's security and we're just deciding whether we should kick you out, or make a little money telling people where you are hiding." She stopped circling and gave Chihiro a big smile, "Or maybe I'm just having computer problems, and you are sticking your nose into private buisness."

~Thad lifted his watch and looked at it, then looked at Nori.~

Oh shoot, Im almost late for my meeting with Forge. We are working on my equipment today.

~He tried to be very vague on what he was saying because he didn't want everyone in the school knowing he was an aspiring Industrial musician. Escpecually now that there was a real musician in the mansion now.~

Chihiro raised an eyebrow, then shrugged. "As you wish, but I'm very good with computers. Xeno's my design, at least, the version that Tai ended up bonded to. The original I worked on with Kevin." With that, her eyes lowered, almost as if she were starting to cry. The truth was that she had been engaged to Kevin when the first version of Xeno had gone on the rampage and killed everyone but her who was working on it.

"Oh yeah, I'm sorry. I forgot about it. Maybe he could look at my guantlet as well."

Nori grinned and rolled her eyes.

 

[Ankara]

"As you wish, but I'm very good with computers. Xeno's my design, at least, the version that Tai ended up bonded to. The original I worked on with Kevin."

"Hang on a sec, maybe I could use your help. Just let me talk things over with Mr. Maddrox here, and I'll get back to you, if I'm still having problems."

She walked back over to James and started to whisper in his ear.
