Chihiro smiled. "This is true. Tai says I have a mind like a steel trap, but the common sense is lacking. He may be right, I suppose. I never think things through before jumping in. Anyways, I'll go talk to Storm once this is done. She's the woman with the white hair, right?"
Chihiro bowed, then waited the last few seconds, and checked to make sure the data transferred. Then she unhooked her gear, and went about deleting the files. Once that was done, she smiled, and started for the door. "Thanks for letting me help."
"Before Professor X was taken, he was helping Jamie Maddrox find one of his duplicates that was causing problems, he's been starting an Anti-human following and is planning an attack on the U.S. government. We thought that he was hiding somewhere in Mexico, but apparently he has figured out that we were on to him, and that we were hoping to get him reobsorbed into the original James... The man that I was talking to outside, thus nigating the duplicates planned attack. It appears that he has made his way here and is in the cafeteria right now!"
Chihiro thought for a moment, then closed her eyes. She had no idea how they could tell the Core from the duplicates. Then it hit her. "We need to get him to absorb all his duplicates in the city."
"That's one problem we have, James Maddrox is sick right now, I don't think he could servive a fight with his duplicates right now, if it came to that."
Chihiro nodded, then pulled out a small earpiece, and fit it to her ear. She started running programs on the Gear, to unlock some of Tai's weaponry. Then she spoke into the earpiece. "Tai, we have a bit of a problem. Meet me in the...."
Chihiro hadn't even finished the sentence when Tai stood in the doorway. He had moved so fast the students hadn't even noticed him leave, and was already drytesting his weaponry.
Tai spoke for her. "My sensors can't pick up on all Mutant powers. So you'll need to get the other ones away from the target. The heavy weaponry is very devastating, but I can only sustain it for a few minutes at a time, depending on the weapon."
"That sounds perfect, we need to get moving, don't talk to anyone, we don't know if they've been compromised. I'll go into the room first and ask any of the students in there to come out to the hall, when they've all gone, you can shoot him," Kitty smiled, " Your doing a very brave and heroic thing here, I am so glad that I found someone strong enough for this." Kitty gave a big hug to Chihiro,"I don't know what I was going to do, I'm so glad the both of you are here."
Chihiro smiled, then turned to Tai. "Remember, we want to try not to kill him. Set power limiters at thirty five percent." With that, she put the connection gear in her pocket, and started to stand up again.
---
Tai nodded, and closed his eyes, concentrating. When he opened them again, numbers flickered across them as if across a screen. Finally, he drew the small blaster pistol that he carried, one of the inbuilt weapons of the system. He started for the cafeteria, taking note of everyone.
"Ok, lets go." Kitty grabbed her lap top and headed out the door . "We'll have to be quick, I don't know what kind of weapons he has, so this has to be quick and clean."
They reached the cafeteria doors. "Ok, are you ready, I'll get the students out, and you get him."
Tai nodded, already studying the layout of the cafeteria on maps pulled from a nearby computer terminal. He had his eyes closed, concentrating, then opened them. He had a good idea what to expect, and he hoped they didn't try to charge him for the damage. He knew he may very well have to use more lethal means than the hand blaster, but he'd find out soon enough.
Kitty stepped into the cafeteria "I need all students out in the hall ASAP, put down everything that you are doing, into the hall now!" She used her most authoritative voice. "Come on, lets go!"
She saw a woman in the cafeteria not moving and thought that it could possibly be one of the twins that Chihiro had mentioned. "You too Miss, I'll need you in the hall to help me, Don't worry James, you can clean up the kitchen, I don't need your help... lunch smells wonderful."
