Storm kept walking and gave a wave at Gambit so that he would know that she heard him. When Kitty caught up with her she looked at the very perturbed young woman and asked
Kitty caught the statue and just about through it back at her head. Rogue made her sick. How could she be so nonchalant about the whole thing, the stupid twit had ruined a boys life and she didn't even care.
"Care to go flying with me, Louisiana boy?"
"I hope she drops him." Kitty mumbled to herself.
"Who is at the door?"
"Some frenchwoman named Babette something or other and a man."
::Being a part of a catfight was not on his list of things to do today, so he was relieved when he heard Rogue say about leaving. Flying did sound like a good time, but he didn't fly he just kinda dangled while Rogue did all of the flying.::
Well actually I thought dat we could get you moved into da cabin den maybe take da old Harley out for a drive. But I'm game for either.
::He walked with her out of the War Room and into the hall, making sure that she walked slowly so that Kitty and Rogue were well apart. To think that they both almost got into a fight with two other Xmen today was kinda amuzing in a disturbing sorta way.::
"I can't believe Kitty left you to help the people at the gate. She must not know you very well."
She watched as Wizard put his sword through the statue at the front door. He is such a drama queen, Nori thought and decided that Storm was going to through a fit when she saw the brand new vandalized statue with Wizard's name on it. After he left she ran up and grabbed the note. She was trying to pull the sword out when she noticed the couple standing there. They must be the people that need help. She gave the sword a little charge but burnt the statue in the process. She threw the sword in the nearby bushes and approached the couple.
I let him lead me out of the room, knowing he didn't want me to pick a fight with Kitty anymore then I wanted him fighting it out with Havok.
"My bags are packed and ready to go, had them delivered to the cottage already," I said, leading the way to the garage via a back stairwell. "So mode of travel's dealer's choice, Remy. A bike ride sounds wonderful."
The sword glowed from the bushes, then vanished, reappearing exactly where it was placed by Wizard's hand. This caused Tai to turn to look at the sword, studying it and scanning it with the sensors of the android he got merged with. Chihiro looked at the people at the door, then motioned back towards the gate. "There was a...uh...I think it was a conjoined twin, but I can't be sure, back by the gate."
::He stopped in his tracks and looked her over for a second, then shook his head as he lead the way to the elevator. He pushed the up arrow and waited for the elevator to drop off Kitty and Storm then come down.::
Da way you talk, It sounds like you had dis planned for some time, P'tite. Just to warn you, dere is only one bedroom in da cabin so either were sharing or you're sleeping on the couch.
::He looked up at the lights as they elevator started to decend. He then looked at her with his eyes dancing merrily.::
Nori looked back at the sword which had reassumed its original position in the statue. Nori decided that since he had left without permission, damaging school property would be the least of his problems.
Nori went to stand back with Psicout. Nori looked passed the couple and noticed a woman walking towards the school from the gate. She turned to Psicout and said,
"Didn't Kitty say that there was only suppose to be a man and a woman?"
When Storm and Kitty got into the elevator Kitty answered,
"Some frenchwoman named Babette something or other and a man."
The name sounded familiar but Storm could place it so she said,
"I heard the page that said they were in trouble. Did you find out what was wrong? Oh and Kitty, things are a little stressed around here and everyone is a little on edge. Could you please try to control your temper? Stomping your way in and interupting a meeting maybe a good way to end it but it isn't very helpful."
Kitty wanted to feel bad, and tried to make a good show of acting embarressed, but she still wished she had done a better job of tearing Rogue down. How can she be so callous. It seems like now that Gambit is back, she doesn't care how she behaves.
"I know, I just got really ticked off at how that kid was treated. I know I don't have all of the info on what happened in Germany, but there was no reason why that kid had to leave. It just doesn't make sence. Him attacking a teacher and everything else that I've heard. I mean, he was a good student before he went on that mission. What made him flip out like that?"
Tai turned to Chihiro, and spoke quickly and quietly. "Xeno's sensors can't even determine the alloy used to make the sword, or the metals that make up said alloy. I don't even think they are on our periodic table. Whoever made it knew what they were doing. Are you absolutely certain we can trust these people?"
Chihiro stomped on his foot, the only way she found she could get him to keep quiet and civil. "Some of these people can hear us, Tai. Behave, understand?"
"How was he treated exactly? We haven't talked to him about what happened. He wasn't asked to leave yet and I'm sure you would have made a wonderful advocate for him. He choose to leave now regardless about what is going on. He does what he wants, when he wants without considering the consequences for himself or the people around him. He was good during the mission aboard Fantomex's ship. Xavier felt he was ready. But when Sinister was mentioned he started to argue with Havok and myself about giving the little information we had to the media which would implicate us with a terrorist. He ended up doing it anyway. Just like he didn't listen to you, he didn't listen then and he doesn't have the experience to back it up."
They stepped off the elevator and started walking towards the front door and Storm continued,
"When the Sentinels attacked, Havok was suppose to fly the Blackbird to distract them, and Wizard gassed him, which prevented Havok from doing his job. Because of that I felt I had to go with Fantomex for several reasons. One being I was told that someone would betray us and Wizard running off looked suspicious. If he had stayed with me that never would have happened. With regards to throwing him out, he is finished school and he can't be an X-man. He attacked a team member and I can't trust him to work as a team."
Nori watched as the woman stomped on the guy's foot and told him to behave. She looked over at Psicout who was staring stupidly at the beautiful woman and shook her head. Kitty must have had a major lapse in judgement picking him instead of her. With the couple standing in the front lawn, the suspicious woman walking up the driveway, and Psicout temporarily unavaliable, Nori stepped up and said,
"Hi, you said you were in trouble or something."
Pointing to the woman walking up the driveway, Nori asked,
"Is she with you? Because we were only expecting you."
Chihiro blinked, then shook her head. "You couldn't have been expecting us. We just got here."
Tai raised an eyebrow, then turned to survey the grounds, the scanners in Xeno's systems not missing anything, including the newly revamped defense system.
There were other students gathering out on the lawn now. Nori took a step back and grabbed Psicout and dragged him with her. If they aren't the ones that needed help who are they and the guy kind of looks strange, she thought.
"Who are you and what do you want?" She said trying to look like she knew what she was doing.
"I know there must have been some reason he did those things, something that justified it. But he's gone, and there is no way we'll ever know what was motivating him to make so many bad moves."
Kitty walked alongside Storm towards the front doors. She was releived that she had a chance to talk to Storm about what happened. Kitty may not have got the answers she was looking for, but she did get answers, and there was nothing more she could do about it. "Thanks Storm." Kitty said.
She saw that there was student gathering around the front door. "Oh great, what's happening now?"
Chihiro raised an eyebrow, then shrugged. Better to come clean now, she thought. "My name is Chihiro Krynn, and up until recently, I worked for a corporation called Vector. My pet project was a battle android. Unfortunately, my new assistant ended up falling into the chamber that housed the android. The result is the man you see standing before you. His body is both machine and living tissue, though I'm still not sure how that happened."
Tai turned to look at them, shrugged, and went back to his surveying of the grounds. He could see residual energy signatures that indicated a battle of some sort had been fought there. Something was bothering him though, about that sword.
Nori was surprised that Chihiro would spill her guts about everything like that. Nori smiled to herself, maybe for a blue haired japanese girl she was more intimatating than she originally thought. She noticed that Chihiro's assistant was taking great interest in the sword Wizard had left behind.
"Ok," Nori said, "But why are you here?"
Tai spoke up, for the first time speaking to anyone at the mansion. "Let's just say the android that I merged with is a corporate secret, and they want him back."
Storm looked around at the students gathered on the lawn and saw Tony and Noriko talking to the strangers.
"Students please go back inside now!"
As Storm and Shadowcat walked towards the couple she told Kitty,
"Pick a few students to make sure that everyone else goes inside and tell them to make sure everyone doesn't just stand in the doorway."
Storm approached the couple on the lawn and heard that last bit of the conversation and introduced herself. She asked them how she could help them.
Chihiro looked at the woman, and smiled. "We need a place to lay low for a while, to stay out of the view of Vector." Tai had gone back to studying the sword, wondering just what kind of metal it was made of and who could have made it.
"Pick a few students to make sure that everyone else goes inside and tell them to make sure everyone doesn't just stand in the doorway."
"Alright everyone, lets go back inside." She started moving students into the school." She pointed to some of the older ones and had them help her and keep them inside. After everyone started to wander off through the school she stepped back outside.
When she got out the door she glanced over at the statue. Oh crap, she thought to herself, that really didn't help things. Looking at Wizard's sword sticking out of the rock. Why would he do that?
"We need a place to lay low for a while, to stay out of the view of Vector."
Storm looked in the direction that the man was looking and saw the sword. It started raining again and she saw a woman in tattered clothing walking down the driveway. She turned back to the couple and said,
"I'm sure we can help you. Kitty if you could please show them inside and get a room ready. I'll follow in a minute."
She stopped the rain and told herself that there was nothing she could do about Wizard right now and that woman needed help. She ran up to her and she asked,
