Day 5: A song from a girl band.

Going back a little bit in time for this one.

All The Things She Said - t.A.T.u

Oh, damn... I went back through all the posts... scanning through nearly two pages, thinking, 'no one's posted it yet... cool.'
And then, suddenly... there it was! Back to the drawing board... lol. But seriously... I'm really glad you posted this!
It's guaranteed energy for me... and I'll still put it on if I need to get pumped for the day, or am running late, or need to exercise... or anything. Energy!

Day 5: A song from a girl band

My immediate thought with this prompt was Kittie, an all woman metal band from London, the Canadian one. But then I was torn, do I post a song from their first album, or from their new upcoming album? Ultimately I decided to go with a song from their first album, released in 1999 when they were but teenagers.

There weren’t a lot of all female metal bands back in 1999, let alone one that was made up of teenagers from Canada. And despite this genre of metal not really being my cup of tea, I still dug it simply for the fact that as a young woman at the time, I wanted to listen to more metal created by women. So this track will definitely not appeal to everyone, it even isn’t my favourite thing but they left an impression on me from back then that just carries into now.

Kittie - Brackish

Kittie? OMG, I haven't thought about Kittie in a long time! So cool.
This is going to be a memory-lane-themed rabbit hole, for sure (lol).
Thank you for sharing this! Great post, and song choice!

Day 5: A song from a girl band

My Silver Lining - First Aid Kit

Dammit, I luv First Aid Kit. Fantastic song choice!
"These shackles I've made in an attempt to be free..."
Fuck, I could mull that one over all day long. Cool.
Thanks for an excellent song (and band) selection!

So much awesome music today!
At first, I didn't think too hard about the song prompt... like, 'oh, this should be pretty good.'
But this turned out to be a fantastic prompt... with so much amazing stuff posted. Outstanding!
Tegan and Sara, Sleater-Kinney, First Aid Kit, the Ronettes. What, I can't give myself a shout-out (lol)?
But also some fantastic choices that I hadn't even considered... the Runaways, Haim, En Vogue, Kittie...
Thank you for all of the great recommendations, everyone!
