2009 Survivor Off-Topic Chat

I was told I was allowed to come in here. Hi. I'm bored. I have no stories to write. :)

hmmmmmmmm, time for more chocolat? What about your NaNo NaNo work? Too clean for us?

hi, kitty & Erin!

I'm racking my brain trying to think of a good idea for the Valentine's Day contest. I think that's about hopeless today since I'm brain-dead from having to write a Social Psychology paper today.

Did somebody say chocolate?

You don't want to miss out on those precious survivor points. Well, for those of you serious about having a chance to win that is. I'm just in it for the fun and challenge of the categories. No chance to win since I'll be writing lots of inelligible stories this year with the chapter rule among others. Not going to change what I want to write to suit the competition.

Yes, there are some chapters that I need to write for stories that I started last year for those who are waiting for them. I just won't count those in the contest and it doesn't bother me at all. No biggie.

I wrote some chapter stories for last year's contest. Finished three or four of them; three others tapered out, two due to lack of interest and lack of positive feedback (and some pretty negative feedback), and one due to lack of motivation on my part. I'm not planning to write any chapters of anything this year, though I've written one story that will lend itself quite well to sequels, which I may do if I run out of other ideas.

Lady, somewhere in the Story Ideas forum, there's a thread from last year of Valentine's ideas; one of the two stories I've written for this year's contest came from that list. I can't remember the thread title at this point, but if you go to Story Ideas and do a forum search for "Valentine's contest", I think you'll find it.

I'm here too, sort of... Between Survivoring and trying to ready a couple of things for e-pubs, I'm about to tear my hair out. lol

I don't have any erotica published yet, but I'm working on it...

Ugh about the sickness! Hope that ends soon.

When your first one gets out there and you see it, you'll think you're dreaming. It's an amazing feeling though. :)

Erin,

Sorry about your kids being sick. Funny but that is how I came back to my love of writing. I got sick with the flu. I had just finished a challenge writing non-fiction articles (my real thing is writing on pregnancy, birth and parenting), so I was burned out on that. I visited another fetish site, where I had written years ago. I got to first reading, then writing there.

I sort of discovered this place by accident...and I can never resist a good challenge, so here I am.

Hope you all get better soon though. I know how icky they can be when they are sick.

Cheers,
Terri

I have had a couple things published. I have a phonics-based reading comprehension program that was published about 7 years ago; it's used in at least a dozen states, and I even found it on one state's approved first grade curriculum list. That's under my real name, though, as is an essay that was published in a hurricane relief anthology after Katrina. I still look at those things like, "Oh, gosh, that's me, isn't it?" I'm greatly looking forward to seeing Karenna's name on some e-books and maybe eventually print books.

Wife2, give it a try!

Look at all these professional writers. That is very cool.

I have the house to myself this morning and I don't want to do anything. I should be marking math tests, or writing a story. I want to sleep. Blah

How is everyone else's Saturday going?

Getting published in e-books is way easier than getting published in print. You ought to try it, Erin.
