2011 Survivor: Off Topic & Chatting Thread

I have updated the unofficial score chart for April. If you have posted your chart, you are included on this list. Anyone who has not taken the time to add a scoreboard is not on the list though they may or may not be participating and simply haven't posted a score.

Since my last post of scores, five people have updated their score. Only one person has moved in the ranking.

afternoondelight2 - 0 points
veronica_james - 0 points
DecadentAngel - 0 points
al_Ussa - five points
theravenfox - 8 points
oOScarletWingsOo - 8 points
lostchicken - 9 points
Lady_Eryka - 10 points
Kaishaku - 30 points
Noira - 31 points
Boxlicker101 - 59 points
SuperHeroRalph - 150 points

Those who have been issued a scorecard can post it any time they want. and begin making entries. If you have signed on but not been issued a scorecard, just be patient. You will be given an opportunity to post your scores, but nobody knows when. If Lauren Hynde has time, she will take care of it, or she might enlist a volunteer to take care of it and to update the standings, as Noira has done here. Only moderators can edit the posts on the Survivors' forum, except for the scorecards that have been started, or post anything new there.

There's no truth to the rumor that Lauren Hynde is being held for ransom by the Mexican drug cartel, along with Crimsom Maiden.

I just wanted to make that clear. A lot of Literoticans (is that a word?) have been asking me that question. Yeah, a lot, so I just wanted to put the information out there.

I have no idea where they are and why we don't have a moderator, an immunity thread, and an official scoreboard.

There's nothing and no one here but spiders.

Did you hear that? That was my echo. I imagine it was Crimson who took all the Survivor furniture, when she left and abandoned the thread. The Survivor prize money is gone, too.

(I think Boxlicker took that, but I can't prove it.)

What the Hell? It's only May. We have plenty of time to get the contest going. Don't we?

As we say in Boston, this is bizarre, wicked bizarre!

"Sorry about the Boston accent."

I have to go find my car. I think I parked my car in Harvard yard.

Yep. There's no need to get your scorecard up until December, and there's no need to even HAVE one... your stories can be written and posted at any time in the year 2011, I'm just a competitive person and I like to see the rankings.

So... unofficial list.

I didn't take the prize money. I think it's still in the bank.

BTW, isn't that "Hahvahd Yahd?" :)

Actually, because of that Boston accent phrase, I parked my car at Harvard Yard, many people believe that Harvard is in Boston. Actually, Harvard is in Cambridge, Massachusetts, just across the Charles River, next door to MIT, where all the nerdy kids go to school.

Maybe if we don't have a moderator, I'll have a better chance of winning Survivor (lol), not that the moderator has anything to do with me winnning or losing.

Unfortunately, there just seems to be less interest in this contest. It's a fun contest. I love writing in different categories. I'm writing a CFNM interracial story now for the Nude Day contest.

Now, I don't know this for sure, I'm just sayin', but I betcha that if Literotica offered a BMW 335i convertible, silver with red or blue leather, there'd be more interest in the contest.

"What do you say, Laurel?"

The first place winner gets a 1/24, oh, what the Hell, let's go bigger, a 1/18th scale Bimmer. Now we're talkin'...along with the cash prize, of course.

The scores seem low compared to past years. As long as there is some competition that's good.

I agree that the interest has decreased. I think the main purpose of this site has changed. In the beginning it was a place for authors to post many stories without any interest in ever publishing them.

Now this seems like a place to start off and if you want to write for a living you don't have the time and energy to write as many stories as is needed to win.

I don't believe the scores are lower than all previus years. I have competed for eight years, which is probably longer than anybody else. My first year, 2003, the winner had slightly over 200 and second place was just over 170. Third was a little more than 150 and I was fourth with 106, which was out of the money at the time. I expect Freddie/Ralph to top that highest score and I should too, and others might.

I think there are fewer competitors, but that impression is because of the lack of scorecards that have been issued so far. Once things get caught up, the competition will be like previous years.

THIS IS AN OFFICIAL LITEROTICA NOTICE REGARDING THE 2011 SURVIVOR CONTEST. PLEASE READ.

Unfortunately, the printer responsible for making scorecards has gone out of business, something about the owner running off with his secretary. It's a very tragic and lurid story, as the man has seven children.

With deep regret and apologies, those people who have signed up to participate in the 2011 Survivor Contest and who don't have a scorecard, must wait until next year's contest, the 2012 Survivor Contest, to play the game, when scorecards will be available.

On behalf of Literotica, I apologize in advance for the inconvenience.

Please come back next year.

In the meantime, please feel free to read and vote 5 for all my stories, while rooting for me to win the 2011 Survivor Contest. We're all a family here with a lot of teamwork and it doesn't matter who wins the contest, so long as we get to play the game, which is why it's so very unfortunate that you cannot play the Survivor game this year. Sorry. Better luck next year. Bye.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Most of us know this is strictly BS, but some new people might not. Don't pay any attention to anything Freddie or Ralphy might say. The contest is still on, and everybody will eventually be issued temmplates of scorecards and will be able to start posting their scores.

As for those who have been issued templates but have not set up their scorecards, you might want to get with the program.

You're such a killjoy, Box.

Gees, with some of the competition out of the way, you may have scored higher this year.

Darn.

Oh, well. Hey, I tried.

You have to admit that it was a very creative attempt.

The competition is fierce enough this year, as the winner of the Survivor Contest wins a 2012 Mini Cooper S convertible.

Please don't say anything Box. I don't want everyone to know that a new car is up for grabs. Okay?

Shake your head, so that I know you agree.

Hey! What did somebody die? It's so quiet here. Where is everyone?

"Hello?"

Well, here it is May 15th and still no sign of a moderator. Is that a good thing or a bad think, I dunno, as this has never happened before.

All the other years I came in here there were story pages, scorecards, empty beer bottles, and CheeseDoodles strewn everywhere. Now the place looks abandoned.

It's really depressing sitting here in the 2011 Survivor Off Topic & Chatting Thread.

Dunno, but I'd do anything just to chat, off topic, of course, with Mungo Park III or even (gulp) PrincessErin.

Maybe everyone is busy writing stories in their feeble attempt to beat me and deny me to win the Survivor contest, yet, again. Yeah, that's probably it. They are all writing stories and waiting until the very last minute to post them, before filling out their scorecard.

"Aha! You thought you were going to win, SuperHeroRalph, AndTheEnd, CarBuffStuff, PositiveThinker, WmForrester, aka BOSTONFICTIONWRITER, and whoever else you are, but it's second place for you, yet, again."

"Wow!"

Alright, I'm gonna go now, but I'll be back. I have stories to write.

Gees, I wonder if I can rent this thread out to someone. It would make a good dance hall. It's large enough.

Official Literotica Message

OFFICIAL LITEROTICA MESSAGE

We interupt this thread to post an official Literotica message.

Being that we have already surpassed the number of contestants allowed to compete in the 2011 Survivor Contest, we are no longer accepting entries. Unfortunately, we only have room to post the scores of only so many stories, before overloading the system and shutting it down completely.

For those who have missed the cutoff date of May 23rd to join, please try back next year.

We thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Gees, now that I think about it, I really like not having a moderator.

*** OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT ***

Dear Survivalistes,

This is to inform you that Gabrielle L., working on LITEROTICA under the ‘nom de plume’ Grand-High_Poobah has been appointed 2011 SURVIVOR CONTEST DIRECTOR.

Please direct all future inquiries to this lovely young woman. Thank you,

Crim and Hyde

Yes survivalists, yours truly, although very busy with my work at Scouries World and with my volunteer work with A.I.R., has decided to step into the breach and help try to bring some organization to the sad mess this contest has become. Feel free to contact me with any contest questions you may have.

Gabrielle
2011 Survivor Contest Director

SURVIVOR RULES:

Bonuses

Special Contest bonus: In addition to the 35 regular categories, ScoreCards have a Special Contest Bonus heading. Submissions under this heading must be valid entries accepted in a Literotica Special Contest. Only one entry per contest is eligible for this bonus, and if it is counted under this heading, it cannot be counted under a regular category.
• Special Contest bonuses:
o For each entry on a Literotica Special Contest (limited to 1 entry per Special Contest): 5 points;
o For having entered all Literotica Special Contests: 30 points.

*** NEW RULE INTERPRETATION ***

I received a question today from one of our SURVIVOR contestants asking for clarification on how many points will be awarded to stories entered in the various SPECIAL “THEMED” CONTESTS that occur at various times during the year. The existing rule has been quoted above.

The rule has been interpreted two ways by our various contestants in the past. One group believes that a SURVIVALIST is only allowed to enter one story in each ‘special contest’ under the present wording of the rules.

Another believes that you can enter as many stories as you want in each ‘special contest’ and get points for them all.

I’ve asked one of America’s most prominent jurists on his interpretation of the rule as presently written and he told me that the wording is not clear and he suggested I clarify it forthwith. After consultations with experts in the PALACE we’ve decided that the rule will read as follows:

Special Contest bonus: In addition to the 35 regular categories, ScoreCards have a Special Contest Bonus heading. Submissions under this heading must be valid entries accepted in a Literotica Special Contest. Only one entry per contest is eligible for this bonus, and any other stories entered in the Special Contest will not receive any other SURVIVOR contest points at all – neither Special Contest bonuses nor Regular Category points.

I hope this clarifies it for everyone.

And keep your questions cumming...

Gabrielle
2011 Survivor Contest Director

It figures. No one pays any attention to you on the contest threads, so you gotta come here and spew your bullshit. No matter how much you whine and post in big bold letters, scouries, you can't change the rules of an OFFICIAL Literotica contest to YOUR liking.

You're not a moderator of any of the OFFICIAL Literotica contests. If the moderators are M.I.A. then perhaps it's time to contact Laurel. Of course, someone else would have to do that besides you, scouries, since she doesn't give you the time of day.

MichChick is right. Don't pay any attention to Scouries, under GrandHighPoobah or any other name. He has no standing in the contest; he's not even registered as a contestant, unless it's by some other name I don't recognize. :(

I have no official standing either, except as a long time competitor. The rule cited for theme contests is correct, but you can enter any contest as many times as you want to. Only one will get the five point bonus as a theme contest entry, and the others can be counted in whatever category is appropriate. It's up to the individual contestant to decide which entry counts as the theme contest entry. :)

Each entry over and above that given the five bonus points for the theme contest entry will count as one or two or three or six points, depending on the categories and the entries already posted to those categories.

Here is the unofficial score chart. Since the last update, two people have updated their scores. No one has moved places.

I don't understand what's happening with the 2011 Survivor Contest, but I'm saddened that Literotica has apparently abandoned the contest and it's participants.

I'd play the game, even if there wasn't any prize money awarded. It's challenging and fun to write in so many categories.

I hope a moderator will come forward to share in the fun and enthusiasm that I have for this contest.

I have also always enjoyed the contest, and I have volunteered to be mod, but I have never gotten a response. I don't know if I would be eligible to do that and remain a contestant, but others have in the past.

I have been looking for Crim, but haven't found her yet. I long ago lost count, but I have raised tens of thousands of dresses and skirts, and pulled down even more pairs of pants. The looking has been fun, but I almost got arrested a couple of times. Good thing I'm so old the women I cheked out thought I was senile and didn't press charges. Some of them enjoyed it, and were disappointed when I didn't go any further.

You are senile, Box. We aren't all stupid ya know.:D

Of course. How else could I volunteer to take over the duties? But, I have never gotten any kind of response or acvknowledgement. :(

What does that tell you?
