Aft Nacelle (discussion all things sci-fi)

I’ve lazily only skimmed this thread of late so may be missing it... but the doctor! Anyone else’s mind go to fake lit doms when he made Jodie kneel and call him master?

Yes. I could wax lyrical on that scene. Doctor is not a submissive by any means. Felt very forced.

The Boys on Prime if you haven't already watched. Simon Pegg fanboying his way into everything.

Witcher was decent actually, Cavill did a great job and boy did I want to take him to bed. Ending left me wanting a bit though.

I thoroughly enjoyed The Boys.. but yes, Pegg gets around..

Only watched Ep 1 of the Witcher and I enjoyed that too... Got to wait for the wife to be in the mood for the others as she wants to watch too.

(No spoilers please?)

Well. I watched The Brothers Grimsby last week ... my mind is stained with evil images.

Evil or exquisite?

So along time ago I watched supernatural. Maybe season 1 and some of 2/3... Enjoyed it. But just forgot about it.

I'm told they are wrapping it up now at around season 19... Wow. Beautiful car though.

Since its already tomorrow in the UK, happy Enterprise Day (17 01)... Live Long and Prosper

Ha!

So I had to Google first off. ""-

Some fans say that Star Trek Day is September 8, which was the day that Star Trek first premiered on television back in 1966. Others say that it should be April 5, which in the Star Trek universe is First Contact Day as established in the movie.

-""

So then I found a forum link which had people querying why 17.01 would be enterprise day, to which I realised my lack of geek-Ness. Total twas-uck really as I love the little gifs that show stsr ships relative sizes.

Always like the delta wing in ds9 (slightly millennium falcon esk)

Then there is April (mumbles) ... the day on which First Contact is supposed to happen in (mumbles), from the film ST: First Contact.

How about we just say fuck it and have EVERY DAY as Star Trek day, with the exception of May 4th ...

I just started watching (bingeing, actually) The Expanse. I am sad, in a way, that I didn't know about it until this past week, but now I get to power my way through it.

NO SPOILERS..

Watched Picard last night and enjoyed the first episode. I think you need to have seen Nemesis to understand the story, so maybe not for total newcomers to Trek, but it's nice to see Jean Luc again.

Think it stood out aside from Nemesis, I watched ST:N a few days after Picard and found little in there that added to understanding. What I did notice by an accidental stumbling across TNG episode was a reference to part of the plot of Picard. (Avoiding spoilers here!)

I’m looking forward to episode 2. Will probably be Friday afternoon when I get chance to sit down and watch it. I’m debating about going for the Expanse as it seems to be getting a lot of love at the moment.

I’ve only read the books, and have absolutely loved them! Holden tried, he really does, but he tends to make things worse.

On a different note, how the hell did I not know about this thread?!? I love sci-fi! I grew up on a steady diet of it!

I might have got the reference mixed up I guess, it's been a long time since I watched any TNG related Trek.

I’m normally a DS9 man, will watch that until the proverbial cows proverbially come home. Been watching a bit of TNG just to get reacquainted with it.

CBS Unlimited took pity on those of us who aren’t sending them our money and put the pilot episode of Picard on YouTube. I must say, I really enjoyed it. Sir Patrick seemed like he was able to slip back into character almost effortlessly. I think the fact that the same amount of time that’s passed in real life has also passed in the narrative helped. And seeing Brent Spiner back in makeup as Data was a treat. All in all, I was very happy with what I saw.

Oh, and Number One is a very good boy. I love the fact that Picard not only has a dog, but a pit bull.

I absolutely love DS9.

TNG a very close second. The whole plot around Cardassia and the Dominion was a fantastic journey in my opinion.

Yes! I loved how it showed a different side to the Federation and a more long standing style of story telling. It wasn’t a new adventure, a new alien each week, you saw the characters develop in different way to TNG.

I think I might give Disco another try ...
