People like that are just damned scary. I don't think that's "dominance"... that's "obsession" or perhaps "control freak".

I always think of submission as a gift. You can't take a gift, because then it's not a gift. And you can't force someone to give it to you either -- because then it's not really a gift either. So people who assume someone will submit to them because they are "dominant" are either newbies, NFIs, or just plain creepy.

Rose, I don't know why your unhappy that you don't recieve emails like that. I still get them on a fairly regular basis. It snot like I have a pic up anywhere, so I know its not my lovely face that causes men to say what they say. My last one was earlier in the week, he sent me a long drawn out email that he obviously spent some time on, so to be polite I responded (hey, gotta give everyone one chance) and he reponded to that by telling me exactly how, and when I should respond to him, wanting a whole list of the times i am available, and whenever I am not available, a reason why...every time...hello creepy...he also wanted ot know my deepest, darkest secrets and sexual fantasies. Now, I am a pretty open person as far as talking about myself, there is not much (if anything) I consider deep and dark enough to not tell anyone, but hell, can we say a little insecure to come on so damn strong, considering I had sent the guy one emailing saying not much moer than hey, I am flattered, thanks for the compliment? Needless to say, mail from that persons addy now goes directly into the trash folder, I get stalkers in r/l...I don't need them online as well...

well, since you asked...

i've never done the on-line thing and have therefore never gotten to know somebody throuh emails and phone calls. i prefer to get to know the guy as a friend first, in social settings, then see if i want anything more. i don't like to just jump into something with certian expectations.

Speaking of canada, I have to put in my two cents, I have been there several times, most recently last year, when I went to the shakespere festival in stafford (or stratford, I can't remember the name of the damn town) I have also been to montreal, toronto, and Quebec. Canadians may get a bad rep for being so good, but let me tell you, Quebec is the most beautiful place I have ever set eyes on...I didn't have the language problem, as I can speak a pretty decent bit of french (or at least I used to, haven't had the need in awhile) but the people were just the nicest, most helpful, and cheerful...not to mention, last time I went, I was in a bar, and didn't have to buy a drink for myself all night, and it wasn't even the guy who buys you a drink cause he thinks you were going to sleep with him, it was a hey, I just wanted to buy you a drink, and thats it kind of things...how sweet...I will never pick on canadians...lol
