Anyone for a nightcap?

You guys - I've really lost control of this thread and it's time to get it back on track. First of all it slipped down to page 47 or something. Second of all, what's missing is more about me. Don't you want to talk more about me?

I've been on a beer kick lately.

I have heard that you are drinking more beers lately. Would you care to confirm or deny?

Well I was completely prepared tell you all about evo2013 bring streamed live over on twitch.tv (see what I did there), but now I'm completely confused what is this thread again? Lol

Time for bed soon..., just wrapping up with a vodka martini w/ a lime twist... what was the title of this thread again? *hiccup*;)

I want to get drunk but don't want a hangover, so I'm going to roleplay it.

I'm SOOOOO DRUNK. Ermagerd.

I can't do a lot of beer or I'm in a world of hurt. Generally I'm all into the Crispin cider.

I do sometimes indulge though. There are decent domestic micros, but God, most Americans absolutely suck at using hops correctly.

I like Germans. Spaten Lager on tap and Kostritzer on tap or not on tap are both excellent.

I also like Belgians. When I really want to get spendy, Maredsous is a great beer.

Good stuff. I like IPA's, we've got a good one with Fulton.

Look for something called "Tucher" in your area, they don't have an importer near me and I regret this a lot. I think you'll like it.

Will do. Planning to buy a mix-and-match six-pack of craft beers this afternoon so if there is any Tucher I'll try.

I stupidly tried to help when I should have known better, and dropped a 75# display board on my foot at work this evening. It looks horrible, but I don't think I broke anything. So here I sit- in bed, foot iced & propped up on pillows, drinking apricot beer and feeling a little emotionally fragile.

Sigh.

I hope your foot feels better soon CM, and a hug for you for the more fragile bits. :rose:

Tonight, for me... a hearty pour of Makers Mark, neat.

Raising my glass of pinot to you, CM. You are always the trooper!
:rose:
Feel better!

Is it true that you're about to become the Wendy Davis of female beer drinking?

TRUE.

Cider? Reminds me of my 21 yo drinking days. I remember that apple and pear stuff. Am I off base?

Love me some Belgian beers. YUM.

How's it going, CM?

Ok, guys, the drunkies are letting me down.

Man, what is up my ass this summer? It's been kick ass but I just can't take it. Since when do I need to drink? Shit, the life of an arteeeeste is a tough one. Ok, not really. Hiccup.

I dream of a day when I can drink wine that isn't as cheap as the wine I drink [now].

I am working my ass off these days [50+ hour weeks], but it's apparently impressing the right people, because the rumor mill is already whispering about promotions and shit. Ya know, if I keep being fabulous and stuff. No pressure or anything.

The whole "stone meets foot" thing earned me a reputation as a total bad ass (thank goodness I know how to focus/breathe through pain). It's still tender, black and blue in a few places, and it will be a while before I get to wear cute shoes (*sniff*), but it could have been much much worse.

Things are looking positive, overall, but ye gods change stresses me out. Yay wine!

I feel ya.

Hey not all Ciders are the clove cigs of the alcohol world! Try some imports, or apfelwein if you can get your hands on it. Apple fermentation does some neat shit.

I hate change too. Glad you're hanging in there though.

Aww, clove cigs and cider - the good old days!! I love it. Ok, I'll try to remember to try a few.

A surprisingly inexpensive pinot noir. Velvety, spicy cap off to a mental 3-ring circus of a day.
Cheers, kids!

A pour of 2010 Ghost Pines Merlot. It's a nice Cali sip.

Cheers all! :)

I wasn't hugely impressed with their cabernet but as no vineyard can do everything well, I shall try the merlot next chance I get. (No, I'm not like that guy in Sideways who wouldn't touch a glass of merlot with a hated enemy's lips.)

What, not even a hint at the maker of said surprisingly inexpensive yet velvety and spicy pinot noir? What ever happened to sharing? ;)

For tonight's pizza: Montes Alpha Cabernet Sauvignon. Alas, the Purple Angel is so hard to come by and tonight is a celebration worthy of the angel, so this is the next best thing from the house of Montes that's readily accessible.
