The only two people I have a really low opinion on this board are the two posting on this user ID. What is sad is that this could have been an interesting and informative thread! However egos and personal vendettas had to become involved, and everything went off topic. Rather than getting into semantics (Ask "The" Master vs Ask "A " Master) or getting involved in grudges, I chose to applaud RR for his intentions when he started this thread.

It is often mentioned that BDSM is a very personal journey, and that journey is different for each person who undertakes it. How sad that we can not respect each other for our differences and the different paths we have walked....rather than attacking anyone whose opinions and comments differ from what we believe to be true. Is it truly impossible for some to share their views and experiences without declaring them the ultimate truth? Are we so childish that we believe there is only one way, one path, one set of opinions and beliefs?

And WildRose, I was quite serious about A vs. The. I was also the only person who seemed to care. But it does make a difference. While I don't have a problem with one person giving advice in their own thread, it seemed like this thread could go a lot further with multiple people answering questions. Titling it with "the" belittles the other doms who might want to give answers, IMHO.

I am almost afraid to even get into all this, but just from reading and watching, I would have to say that if I were interested in seeking advice from this thread, I no longer am.

I see one poster going off on another for allegedly calling names and slinging mud when they do it themselves in the very same post.

I see people who I consider to be normally very dignified stooping to one-up each other.

I see others trying to venture in and pose serious questions only to be ridiculed, shot down and in some cases picked apart by some arrogant ass.

I am shocked.

I know squabbles happen in forums like this, but I would expect a little more tolerance from people who all practice a similar lifestyle and usually agree that differences are okay...when did difference of OPINION no longer get covered by that?

I really can't think of a lot I can say that hasn't been said.

I can say that we aren't going to start removing all posts that are inflammatory or flirtatious. It would be impossible in that what one poster posts as serious or funny may be taken as inflammatory or flirtatious by another. Who would decide? Where would the line be? Further, would someone's difference of opinion be considered an inflammatory remark? All too soon we would be bordering on censorship. The intent of this forum is to provide a place to openly discuss BDSM issues in an environment wherein free speech is promoited. Fortunately, but sometimes unfortunately, promoting free speech also means that you can post what you like and others have the freedom to respond as they wish.

Further, that this thread is likely to be one that new posters check when they begin lurking, I am very disheartened that new posters will have to experience the uglier side of the forum before getting a chance to get to know us.

While it is too late, to them and all posters, I would suggest you move on and look for the good stuff we have here. There are hundreds of threads which involve discussion about real BDSM issues and are more indicative of what this forum can be.

Man I tell ya, betwen all the crap on the floor and all the pissing matches around here, I need rubber boots.

I have plenty of opinions on the 5 pages I just read, but why bother? I've constantly watched people come on this portion of the website looking for answers in a very muddled world of BDSM, just to get shot down by big egos with little knowledge.

My advice, if you are new to this lifestyle and are on this board looking for real answers, run like hell. Go to borders and buy "screw the roses send me the thorns" and read that. It's informative, teaches safety and technique, and I personally have had the pleasure of whomping Molly Devon with my big purple flogger once. She's smart, her top is the co-author, and she knows what she's talking about.

Go to a munch, meet real people, not screen names. Don't play with ANYONE that you can't get personal references on from REAL PEOPLE.

As far as subs teaching subs, who the hell else is pgoing to get on thier knees and show them how to bow properly, or serve my drink, what side to place my plate on the table from, yadda yadda yadda. I give directions to my Frist Girl, she teaches the others. If they fail, she fails. Trust me, they don't fail often, and I get many compliments on my slaves from people that write books on slavery.

This site is good for a chuckle, and now and then there really is some good advice, or a good subject. But never fail, personalities and egos always fuck it up.

I keep hoping things will change one day, the BDSM portion of this site has tons of potential. Wasted, thus far, but it's there.

Wildrose, I respect your (very submissive!!) fairness and sense of honesty and good spirit.

I try not to humiliate or shout down those who I disagree with.

However, there comes a time when fundamental issues are at stake and a man--if he be worthy of the name--must step up to the plate or crawl away. Sometimes blood must be shed; this , I think is a sad truth that masters know. Submissives often want to make the peace and have everyone be a big happy family--(they CAN fight though---and that's no joke!)

I am not interested in boring internet flame games. I have been online in the bdsm scene for many years...been there done that and it's all played out.

The long and the short of it is, I know what's right and I act by my lights; but the flame game and the ego bullshit holds no attraction for me.
