(From the majority of these posts...) Why is everything illegal in the US?
You need a lawyer just to cross the friggin' street!
Is everyone offended by everything that everybody has to sue everyone?
I mean we're talking BDSM, not unlawful confinement and assault... Oh wait, it is the same thing unless proven otherwise... by a lawyer.

1) Good advice given so far. There are federal laws governing the production, distribution, marketing, ect ect of BDSM/porn and then state laws on top of that, maybe even a few county laws. We live in polk county florida home of an anal sheriff, our county does not have a single adult store, no adult vidoes, nothing. (hence why our bdsm bunsiness has no store front) But gawd damn I can point you out to a gun shop on every third corner. Makes no sense to me. (sex is bad guns is good!)
2) Get a good kink friendly lawyer. We have one here in our county and he is a god send. Research research research so that your hard earned money and work isn't blown out a window!

We own a BDSM manufacturing company. We make everything from horsehair floggers, shark skin floggers, kangaroo floggers to dungeon equipment and we do it all in the shop that is attached to our home. This is our only source of income and we work very hard. Our kids have an idea, although it was explained to them as "some people find lingeriea erotic others find leather erotic." The rest of the family, pretty much knows. We do not lead a double life with them, honestly, we don't care what they think! We have a beautiful home, mortgage free, a job that allows us to be our own boss and basically work when we want. And we enjoy what we do! We have met hundreds of people that are into BDSM, and a few of them have become close friends. So no double life here.
But once again I think that depends on your family and your point of view.
