(Side note: It's nice to be lauded, of course, for a) not having a dick pic, and b) for stretches of not being a dick. I'm just more of a dick off-board.
Looks fade, and cycle, as has been discussed. My av was taken in the fall; I don't look as good now; I had a bad winter health wise. I feel like I'm just getting back to where I was in conditioning. Some of the health-field people on the board were really helpful to me when I was trying to figure out wtf was going on. Thank you.

I actually kind of skated around that with DGE when I first got here, too. i saw he had fans. We have a good friendship, almost siblingesque, and his girl is one of my best friends.

I'm guessing that I used a photo of actor Spencer Tracy as my av for at least half of my nearly 14 years on Lit. I don't own the copyright on any of those photos so now that Lit has taken a harder stance on the use of copyrighted imagery, I use only photos that I have taken. There is one photo of me (well, of my chest anyway) that has seen some use as an av, but it's getting a little long in the tooth (like its owner) so I have retired it. Most of my Ave these days seem to be pictures of food. I'm sure there's a hidden message in there somewhere.

I have always used pics of myself for both AV and profile. When I first joined Lit many years ago I cropped some recent pics and used them, but after a few years I realized they were getting old, so I started using more recent pics. That's when I decided to stop cropping them so much so people could see me a bit more accurately.

Well, I do not post a lot here so it will take some time, but when I finally get the chance to add an av, I think it will be a tiger, because it's both graceful and savage and I identify with that. Besides, it reminds me that I, like everyone else, have a primal, bestial nature and that there's nothing wrong with it.

I've used pics of me and non-pics of me interchangeably over the years.
Initially it seemed to me that the done thing was to post more explicit AVs (certainly for females) and so for years my AVs were unashamedly my breasts.
Certainly, from the response that I got over on the PG this seemed to be the more acceptable choice of avatar. Sadly I found that the more skin I had on display, the more people would talk to me.
Now that I'm here a lot less I'm happy with a half-face AV to preserve my anonymity. Sometimes it's a little girl with a baby effalunt, because it's cute.
I just liked the Wednesday profile pic; It's fairly accurate.

Now, I'm less interested in garnering attention in that way. I've had my face up, my butt on display, generally, though, 99.9% of the time, my AV is not me. My profile pic usually is me.
My AV's are more mood related. I do them more for me - I don't think anyone really looks at my AV and says: "hey, cookiecat seems really melancholy today."

When I first joined, I borrowed from the vast internet lands... Too shy to share pieces of me. But now my AVs are 100% me. If I'm feeling foggy enough to throw up a profile pic, it will be me as well.
