Bandit's Blurt and Vent Thread

Thanks kayte :rose: :)
My procrastinator cat disappeared :( so had to find something else. He looks just like a tribble! :D

I'm so sorry to hear the track "management" acting like a bunch of turds!

They want the parking we were using for "track patrons" i.e. paying customers. So we have to go round the back and enter via the pits and because I'm not allowed in the pits I have to walk all the way round the outside of the track to get to the grass hill where I normally sit. Storms can come in pretty quick and by the time I get back to the car I will be soaked

Not just me there are crew wives/gfs who have small children....who will have to park there too....grrrr they just don't think do they!

Be assured Snowy that both BANDIT:heart: & I would love your hugs even if we didn't need them & just because they were comming from you.:D

*shakes fist at the half a continent and evil oceans between here and there* Being all snuggly in the rain with the two of you sounds lovely. It's a cold and unhappy rain at my house today.

Just the thought inspires sunshine here, wink, wink, nudge, nudge. ;):D:rose:

Fingers crossed for BANDIT:heart: canulating in the morning so it's a stress free day for her & then off to mum's place for a yummy baked dinner with home made cheese cake for desert tomorrow night, MMMMM my taste buds phyched for that.

:D

PSST Snowy our friends are always welcome at Mum's too.

Gee, isn't there anyway you can get a special pit pass to allow you to use the shortcut? Sometimes people who plan those things are just so clueless.

Hope things are going well sweetie.

Hi {{{{{snowy}}}}} Nice to see you! :) Love your AV. And gee, it was a bit ago when postage stamps were that cheap!

Hi sweetie. Hope all went well in the morning and I'm sure you enjoyed the dinner. It sounds absolutely marvelous. Reading your post has my taste buds wide awake now too.

(((Kayte!)))) Thank you! Shyguy made it for me! Because I was being all WonderWomanly one day.

Didn't go as well as we hoped - cannulation was ok but when we came to connecting to the machine there was a blockage in one of the cannulas (don't know why, everything seemed ok)

So we rushed to the hospital (again) and one of our favourite guys helped us out (there was a bit of clotting in the line which he managed to pull out and double flushed it so everything was working again). Sir is on machine but running the pump speed a bit slow for a while until everything settles.

I've just finished a coffee and am more relaxed now!!

I'm so sorry to hear you had that problem but I'm so happy to hear you were able to get it sorted out. Relax sweetie, you deserve your coffee and more.

Much love, have some coffee and some chocolate and relax a bit.

Thanks kayte and snowy - I think I need to increase my chocolate stash for situations like these! ;)

All went well yesterday and we were able to get the pump speed up a bit higher without the usual uncomfortableness around the needles. We made it through the 8 hours just - Sir's aches and pains are giving Him hell at the moment.

The weather forecast says showers which could be a factor. Damp weather seems to make Him hurt more. My Dad had an elbow which seemed to act like a barometer - when it hurt, it usually rained within the next 2 days! :D

Same thing happened today what happened last week (clotting in the line), all fixed but we've been told to flush the lines with 1ml heparin mixed with 9ml saline instead of just saline, which will prevent the clotting problem.

Need to go shopping for more chocolate..... ;)

{{{{{{Bandit}}}}}}}:heart: Yes chocolate can cure all ills. Hope doing the 1ml heparin / 9ml saline flush prevents the clotting problem for you.

And just what is your favorite chocolate? :D

As if we didn't have enough problems, Sir's blood pressure crashed 40 mins before the end so I had to quickly take Him off. Amazingly He came off only 300g (just over a pound) overweight, so that will be added to dialysis tomorrow.

Chocolate....Whittakers (a NZ company) make lovely chocolate. They have small blocks of coconut and one called peanut slab which has whole peanuts in...Sir is allergic to peanuts so guess who gets to eat that all by herself....;)
I prefer milk chocolate to dark, and white chocolate is very sweet (but yummy with coconut or crispy bits in!) :p

I'm so sorry to hear his pressure crashed. Hope things are ok now and the next dialysis went fine.

The chocolate you describe sounds so wonderful. We can get some of their chocolate here but you guys appear to get more. :D Enjoy.

Hope it is all working just fine. Sending lots of positive energy your way. :rose:

We put Sir's dry weight up again by 0.5 kg (just over a pound). The palms of His hands were wrinkled and a dint on a fingertip took ages to fill out again. So He went to the dialysis ward to ask the question and one of the nurses said oh yes you are too dry you need to put your weight up...and she also jokingly said that I should stop feeding Him so well! :D

Yesterday was the first dialysis at the new weight. He came off feeling a lot better than He had been. No blood pressure crashes, no cramping, no feeling really washed out. We probably should have done this sooner but He didn't want to feel He was gaining too much weight. This puts Him at 88.5kg (195lbs) with clothes.

Summer is coming too so I think He should have a little fluid left on anyway to allow for sweating, especially at the speedway when He wears fireproof underwear as well as a heavy protective suit. He can lose around 2 litres in sweat some nights

Someone has sandpapered my throat :( I haven't had so much as a sniffle for over a year - and it's supposed to be spring/summer. Couldn't get sick over winter like everyone else could I!

Oh well hopefully it won't last long. My friend and I had plans to play this afternoon but I'm sick so I messaged her only to find she had to cancel too as her hubby has hurt his back. Her immune system is dodgy (she has rheumatoid arthritis) so I don't want her to catch my bugs. We've re-scheduled for Friday that gives me 4 days to get better!

Sir is ok apart from aches and pains, the weather has sucked this weekend with rain and storms which seems to cause more aches. Speedway was cancelled so we will be doing dialysis every 2nd day for a couple of weeks - crash crew aren't needed next weekend as the speedway is being used to host a Monster Truck show.

Sir has been to the doctor and He has bronchitis. He's got some pretty powerful antibiotics to take for a couple of weeks.

I'm almost over the head cold I've had since last Monday which has kept me away from the gym (I hate when that happens!). I can't believe we got through the winter without getting sick but it's almost summer and we both are crook - go figure

You didn't mention your playmate above but you didn't mention that you girls got together for some fun on Sunday.

I'm feeling fairly rotten at the moment but as I tell BANDIT:heart: I've been getting sick for many years before her & I'm still here so stop all the worry, I have no plans on going anywhere so she is stuck with me. ;)

BANDIT:heart: did get to the gym last night & made it through OK so that os a good thing for her.
