BUT.... if you have posted an image as an attachment elsewhere...you can then insert that image in your PM the same way..... between

you can use one of your old posts and update (edit) it (have to click on advanced to access "manage attchments" when editting a post)....if you want to be stealthy.

good point

Love it!

A fav theme of mine!

You should start your own gallery/thread!
These will get "lost" in here.

Yeah, I just need some more practice T, and a scanner! Do you scan yours or use a camera? Your clarity is great!

Try again

I scan, unless, of course, I am showing work in progress.

I have a few scanners... the best one is the HP scanjet G3010.

Actually I have one that scans BETTER, but it has an old, GIANT SCSI cable...
There is Probably an adaptor to convert to USB.... but....

I also have a cheaper, light weight one, that is adequate. A canon sumthin'. It does nt always pick up the subtleties of some of the pencil work...though I might be able to din around with the calibrations and settings for improved quality...yeah ..right! hahahaha as if I will tak ethe time for that!

So you scan the completed piece? framed?

I did see a HP G4010 on Amazon for $97.00

noooooo...LOL :D

I took photos of empty frames that I have, I outlined them and made them layers in photoshop and cut them up and pasted them back together for different proportions.
Most of what I post here is done on crappy copier paper.

None of my erotic work is framed (except a few that I gave away)... not much of ANY of my work is framed. I have one piece up in our house...the rest is in the basement or in folders, here at work.

$97...pretty good price. I have liked most of the HP products that I have had...scanners and printers.

Impressive! and time consuming?

Not terribly. Not sure if it i sreally worth the extra effort, though. As kiki&I noted, it necessitates reducing the actual drawing.

Ahhh, I always wondered about that, I always 'assumed' your drawings were actually larger than they appear in the uploaded image, but I must say, man, those frames really add to the piece.

My process is pretty much the same - draw on regular printer paper, scan it in, mess with it in one graphics program or another. Although in something like my avatar you can't see the original pencil lines because when I do vector art I completely replace the original sketch. But I also do anime-style drawings or drawings of animals where I keep my lineart. example: female nude

The drawings are somewhat larger, but these are no larger than 8 1/2" x 11"

What I meant~ Putting them in the digital frames, means you don't get to see the drawings as well, because of LIT's size limitations.

Some illustrations are "as is" scans, and some have digital color added, or digital shading/lighting.

I always find myself 'wondering' how big the actual drawings/paintings are? The size limits seem to alter my perspective. I'd like to see the work RL.

I find myself drawn to this one for some reason ,
I like how the branches seem to come together as a heart ...
very nice work .

Thank you Chainzz, I didn't really notice the 'heart' till after I pinned it up and looked at it, I've always had a fondness for the dryads.

If you regularly use a scanner, your drawings are pretty much limited to the size of your scanner's plate. If you tend to print out a source image/draft, then use a lightbox to do a trace/new draft, then you are limited to the size your printer can print. Some people get around that by doing their sketches right into the computer with a tablet. It's possible to composite multiple pages of sketch into a single digital image, but it's a bit of a pain. But basically all my sketches are 10" or smaller.

Paintings on the other hand, I have to work bigger, at least with acrylics. I find it impossible to paint as fine of details as I can draw, so I get really frustrated trying to paint small. The last painting I finished was 18"x12", the one I'm starting is 36"x24". Watercolors on the other hand I can work smaller, but in that case I know the result's going to be kind of impressionistic no matter what, so there's no point even trying for realistic detail.

BTW if you're looking for a scanner newegg is probably the cheapest place to buy one. I had to replace mine earlier this year because my old one was incompatible with Vista, so I researched them then.
